This release contains Martial Solal�s complete original soundtrack to Jean-Luc Godard's legendary 1960 film A bout de souffle (premiered in the United States as Breathless).
The movie is about a wandering criminal (Jean-Paul Belmondo) and his American girlfriend (Jean Seberg). It was Godard�s first featured-lenght work and represented Belmondo�s breakthrough as an actor. The film was one of the earliest examples of French New Wave (nouvelle vague) cinema.
As a bonus, the music composed by Martial Solal for six more films by others directors, as well as Michel Legrand�s theme song for Godard's film "Vivre Sa Vie" (1962)
