All the issues this site has seem to emanate from that board. Not from VGM or anime.
If the downloads section were archived, what of value would be lost? If the RCP junkies need their fix, there are plenty of other places where Bart Oss posts his stuff. Or, God forbid, maybe they can shell out a few bucks for an actual purchase of the music.
Or, here's an idea - keep it strictly to classical and early film music.

This place is overrun by leeches. Film music discussion is nonexistent.
There were a lot of good people here back in the day who vanished in part because so many people here have bitch-slapping fights. People - like Bart Oss, tapoktro, and powaquatsi - who just stir up trouble by flaunting their idiocy.

You never see these problems in the video game music section. They play with their toys nicely. They're like Andy. The film music section is like Sid.

Trust me when I tell you that is very sad to hear but it's really nothing new.

This forum has been decaying for years, now. Most of us are just awaiting the much expected, awaited doom.

It's been a while I say to myself this, but then the forum was down for two days, and the only thing I missed was the music, that sometimes it's only shared this. And a few of the friends here. Few, very few of them.

I think it'd be great if all the members who have less than ~ten posts were pruned and the film music section archived. Move it to the bottom of the forum index.

This forum is nothing without its film music section. Anything else would be a circlejerk of boredom, not to mention shit is also lurking at GD, too.

This forum has lost its way months ago, really. If you expect it to become better when the film music section is ridden, you'll be wrong

Also TheParadox is a major piece of shit. Without the exception of What.CD you can't get what you get here at the Shrine somewhere else. Geez, there's here stuff that isn't even in WHAT.CD but mostly because here you don't get told shit if you upload a FLAC that is not a 100% XD

I don't come here for the music anymore, I come here to chat with you all, and have some giggles while I'm at it. When Penguin, Nanami, Marceline, and all those guys returned (all too briefly) earlier this year I thought it was great because for the first time in years I felt like this site had a real community.
If people stop coming here on account of the film music being gone, well, I guess I'll know who here is in it for the fellowship.
This place had plenty of activity long before the music downloads sections were introduced. It's not impossible that that activity will resume if the film music section is booted.

All this garbage posting really needs to stop or the film section will be shut down, enough is enough. I will be adding a new moderator to that section soon, nobody will know who it is, they'll delete posts and ban whoever they think warrants it. It is weird.. it's got some funny jokes and unfunny ones. Mark Dindal is great for comedy.

It's by no means a masterpiece. It's got flaws. But.. I don't think it deserves the title of the worst, most hated Disney classic. There's worse.

I stopped coming here for music a long time ago, so it wouldn't be much skin off my back.

If I was an administrator, or moderator, or was in some way permitted to do so, I might have next to zero tolerance and would've banned a number of troublesome users by this point, the section's become much too cancerous on many occasions.

I've really lost care for downloads here, especially when the MEGA handicap in limited downloading has now started effecting me.

Besides, I much more prefer other places for my music needs (W.CD, SS), since it's often more straight forward of a process and adheres better to my own taste in music.

I do have enough downloaded to my hard drive from Shrine that if the downloads section takes a closing, then I'll have plently of material to pick from.

This site no longer fosters a vibrant community of film music lovers. The film music section, in my eyes, is a BURDEN on the development of the community. Not only have those with sessions fled screaming from the site, but the film music downloads section has also spawned such characters as zvonko, powaquatsi, Bart Oss, etc., who take their haughtiness to a public platform and just cause trouble. This isn't the same FFShrine I joined five years ago.
By moving the site's focus from downloads to discussion I think the community would be in a lot better place.
And like I said, keep the video game and anime sections. Those guys aren't squabbling lunatics. It's the film section that causes the most headaches.

I'd be fine with just these being allowed in the film and tv thread. It would also probably draw less legal attention.

Also, it's apparently it's too hard to google whether something is Varese or not. Maybe if there's less toxicity around, the people with rarer stuff would return.
