Guys, i hope you do not wake disappointed, but almost whole work it's music of thriller with synthesizer, also this contains a lot of psychedelic moments.
Score like mix of "Mr. Robot" and "A&D". All classical music of "Inferno", was already in "A&D". The album sounds quite holistically.
Movie - a good. But i think, could be better... Atmosphere of the film changed because of the music, but not very.

I was really looking forward to this, but was eventually left feeling like it was a step down from Angles & Demons -- almost as if Zimmer was phoning it in, at least to some extent.

I'm pretty sure I also spotted Winter Soldier vibes in there somewhere.

Thanks for the share, Bart. But unfortuantely having listened to this I now must listen to some A&D to wash off a terrible aftertaste. And no, I won't wait till I see the movie. But hey, you know the definition of a good score, right? I get it, I get it, sometimes you just change your mind. Well this time I don't. The movie was ruined by these ambient noises. I'm very hesitant to use the word music here. I'm only saying it all because I was so hyped for this score. And now disappointed, sadly. I keep my hopes up high for JNH's Fantastic Beasts and Giacchino's Rogue One to recompensate for this.

Having listen to Inferno i'm saying NOOOOOO.

Very disappointed, Da Vinci Code's purity is polluted to a tremendous degree with electronic "noises". At least on A&D you get the why it was in need for a change and the direction of it here i just cannot.

So disappointed :(

I agree it is indeed better if you listen to this score only from track 12 til the end... nonetheless nothing really new that hasn't been done better in DaVinci or A&D .... Some synths are truly atrocious... and i like synth scores... I had hope, for real. Well, i ll just keep on listening the first two Langdon movies :)

Entirely listened, I agree, from the middle to the end is good, the rest before track 11 is more noise than other thing and very loud sound.

Wait what... ok I'm actually disappointed. Like properly disappointed. Where is the choir? The orchestra?! The epic evil villain theme?! The only track really with choir is 16, and orchestra. The rest is synth, no real orchestra was used at all. Trust me I know, it sounds like he went for a chappie influence, and pulled a thomas newman with spectre and reused themes from angels & demons. It's the third installment, it has to be bigger! More aggressive, heavy and dark. If I were scoring this I would've utilized at the very least no less than a 75-100+ piece orchestra, maddening choir, generated a really nasty villain theme, a theme for the plague (or whatever it is don't spoil it for me I haven't read the book yet) yes albeit with references from the first two scores but not so heavily as this.

It really does seem most of his effort and heart is in the nolan films these days. Rightly so, he has a fresh and unique approach to film making, more inspiring from that. All these years it was only a matter of time before zimmer got bored of sequel action scores. Now while I haven't seen the film and I'm sure the score works well with it, I just had a different vision, but that's just me.

Food for thought: At least a few cues in Spectre had choir :rolleyes:

I must be in the minority here, but I'm enjoying this score! While it *does* have some of the irritating sound design from Chappie and Batman vs Superman, the majority of the score itself is pretty interesting and I'm sure it works well in the film. I don't agree that the 2nd half of the album is far more interesting than the first. My favorite track has to be "The Logic of Tyrants"

eh I dont mind some of the tracks before 12
I quite like "Venice" and "remove Langdon" and some of the synth reprisals from earlier scores

but there are a few tracks whose inclusion I question
especially the noisefest that is "seek and find"
I assume the score is chronological, but it does make for a rough opening

I like it, weakest of the three sure, but it's kinda fun with some synths, felt it more like it was the new mass Effect Andromeda score so quite like it. Missing the choir but after 12 it's not bad.

Keep in mind often times the choir is removed from the music before being put on the OST (cough, Giacchino Star Trek), so maybe it'll be better in the film. And then then we can always hope the complete score will have the choir (if he used choir at all, and if it ever leaks).

The Cistern uses the melody and structure of "God Save Us" from Angels & Demons - it's a new spin of that material. "Flight" from MoS shares the same chord progression as "God Save Us", it just wasn't obvious to everybody else until they heard this arrangement. But let's not get it backwards, "God Save Us" came before "Flight". Chicken and Egg.

Oh, I have no idea. Judging by the responses here in this thread it actually might take a while ;)

EDIT: BTW, this music is not so bad. And this coming from one who usually doesn't listen to RCP. But I like the Vangelis/Moroder/JMJ mixture with a bit of JNH thrown in for good measure. There is a clear progression from DaVinci through Angels & Demons to this: less organic, more artificial. Besides, he still uses most themes. It's a bit like listening to '80s/'90s Eurodance or cheap techno. And I'm all for retro^^

The only really hideous track is "Seek and Find" so far. Honestly, he has sounded worse.
