How much ?

TheSkeletonMan939

100%, because the Chinese wrestled the site away from Kim Schmitz.

"Predictable" is what I describe this.

Like, I'm surprised they did it this late.

Oh well.

Also, if the Chinese are really responsible for this, wouldn't they have just shut the site down?

What are you talking about?
A Chinese investor legally yanked the site away from Schmitz.
It's not a hack or something.

Long time I got download limit, 5GB each 6 hours!

My IP has been filtered I think, normal I download some day more than 50GB from MEGA and the upload is not bad too lol.

So how much is the Limit ?

990MB every six hours according to the fine print on this screencap. That's bullshit though, I think it's a dynamic number based on what you've actually downloaded.
I too believe its capped at 5GB every six hours.

Saw that once, couple months back, think it happened when i tried to grab some huge File...

Either way i am not scared, File Hosts come and go, that's how these Things work, if anything,
we've grown fat and complacent during the MEGA Reign.

No,

Normall, My jdownloader always started downloading on Mega, but I noticed suddenly the download ddid not start and i tried to download through the browser and a 350 mb stopped at 90% because of the limit.

Mega became so popular, trying others free hosters Mediafire, it seems good,Saxofoniar the files last longer

That "imaginary guy" is illegally downloading digital copies of stuff he's supposed to pay for, in most cases... Therefore, he should stay calm/shut the fuck up, count his blessings stuff is online and take whatever amount of time it takes to download. Not happy? Prices for the PRO account are similar to those of other file-hosting websites (or even lower), either pay for those or the damn product, problem solved in any case.

Right but my public IP is dynamic , change each 24h, I am using proxy and my provider will never give the name of the user behind this IP, so it's more anonymous than my name on my credit card dumbass!

Don't you think Leon that, the problem is not who downloads but the "middle men" and the uploaders/hosters. Pirate Bay/Demoniac/CG/What cd/Shrine/ bakbt, russians, asians......., they all are "middle men", hosters like Megaupload/hot file, rapidshare.... just to name a few. They all allow to upload/share the link and also download it. This is illegally.....

And who downloads is supposed to listen to listen/keep archive till 24 hours after nd then buying the original. Of course, a very very very little percentage of users does that, but mostly don't. People download illegally stuff because they don't have money to buy.....If someone buys cds like the way someone downloads it, at the end of the month there was no salary to buy food, clothes, pay the rent, electricity,,, etc

but the Shrine is a sharing community and 80 percent doesn't share or even say thanks.....of course and there's someone who shares a very very very little

Sigh. There's a problem "at the source" with what we do, blackie and since I'm a bit tired now, I'll try to explain myself with an example:

- I actually own the soundtrack to a movie/video game/anime/etcetera.
- I go and create a digital encode of it.
- Technically speaking, at least with the laws in effect where I live, I'm not allowed to pack that encode and upload it anywhere, it doesn't matter whether I share it or not, I'm doing something illegal by uploading a digital copy onto a server. Copyrighted material.

That 24 hours thing? Bullshit, pretty much. They could screw over both the uploader and the downloader, if they care to do that and in case I've explained myself poorly, the uploader doesn't even have to share anything: you uploaded a TEKKEN soundtrack you just purchased? NAMCO, or BANDAI NAMCO could legally rape your ass, you most likely haven't been authorized by them to replicate and redistribute the copyrighted data stored on the CD(s).

I can't believe I once again get the sob-story that there wouldn't be money for food, etcetera, please, save that for someone else. Sidestepping the notion I find rather pitiful that one seemingly puts food and music on the same "level" (they aren't). I've been younger, too, without a job, nor the weekly 5€ from parents and other family members. I either paid for what I really wanted, or when I had to wait 15 minutes between each download of multiple 100 MB archives hosted on rapidshare.de and rapidshare.com years ago, I. Waited.

Users who are annoyed about file-hosting websites directly (or indirectly) deploying systems/limitations which dampen the usefulness of those service(s) for piracy-related activities need to grow up (mentally) and either live/deal with it. We are pirates, we often don't get to have luxuries.

EDIT:

And, lorddsp, your IP address may be dynamic, but if they want to know who you are, they do, child's play, I wouldn't have much faith in the ISP, if I were you. One of the safest ways one has to keep sensible information private is not be "on the Internet", there are those among us shriners which have (+had) Premium/PRO accounts on the likes of MediaFire, MEGA, RapidShare, FileServe... the accounts lasted for decent amounts of time and, at worst, they got deleted and things stopped there.

You have to download more and during a long time, after you will be filtered by MEGA ;-)

I don't know if it's regarding too the mass uploading, and when you give link, it's download from your account so...

But as already said, MEGA is very generous with the free account.

Dave999

it's better using tor and/or a self destruct PC[

I'm not even going to start about the PC... Tor has one weakness: correlation attacks. You can find someone's IP from Tor by monitoring the start and exit nodes and doing DNS lookups after you've filtered the bogus rerouted traffic. You probably wouldn't understand jack shit (Leon Scott Kennedy probably will), but it's all explained here (https://nymity.ch/tor-dns/tor-dns.pdf). It's a fairly new development but it's not as if Tor was safe before that. If you simply Google "Tor FBI" you'll already find scores of articles that detail the Feds having full access to Tor, if they want to. It's just a matter of knowledge and resources.
