Wow... No one has replied to this?

With the compositional touch of Gliere, the mastery of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra, a recommendation from steviefromalaska AND your great conversion process?

I am sorry to see that.

Thanks steviefromalaska and markcope1961. Count me in as interested at least! (And now I have to dig in to markcope1961's recent postings, because these stereo upmixes are great things). :-D

A few years ago I purchased a remastered CD of the Scherchen performance. The performance was the best I've ever heard, but the sound was far from good. The new Falletta, Buffalo Philharmonic, performance is the second best I've ever heard; but, I'd love to have the link to your remastering of the Scherchen. It would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much...

I would really appreciate the link. I still have somewhere the original Westminter 2-LP album, issued c.1953 and puchased by me in the late sixties.
Thanks for these technological advances!

Scherchen's superb historical performance of Gliere's symphonic masterpiece is made even more special in Markscope1961's remarkable stereo conversion. I feel honoured to have been a part of this and urge everyone on the FFS board to take a listen. The Ilya Murometz Symphony is the ultimate epic concert hall work and it resembles a modern film score in sound and scope.

Thanks for your kind words Stevie and for your efforts to promote interest in this...I think I'm a jinx on anything of yours that I work on...those excellent "The Best Thing In Life Are Free" items of yours, that I converted, sank faster than the Titanic!...this looks like it hit the same iceberg...however, to be honest, I'm just very pleased that you enjoyed the result, that's more than enough satisfaction for me.

Thanks very much for the link. You did a really excellent job remastering the recording. It's now as good as it will ever sound! Thanks again...
