hey man, i was looking for "gentle sounds vol3" for years... (and in Flac, great!!)
especially "Mystique beauty" from Lindup. if you ever doubt it, you know for sure that he has composed 2 episodes of "the persuaders"

Damn, I can't acceed at MEGA any more, it seems that my provider have blocked the DNS for this hoster, cause when I try to reach the page, I receive a warning message from Google, telling me the SSL certificate it's not valid for this site.
To obviate this problem, I have seen on many reviews and forums, people saying those DNS should be replaced by those from Google (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4.), and in fact it works..., but randomly (sometimes I can acceed, and sometimes not)!

The group called The Test Card Circle presently has a membership of over 200. It was formed in 1989 when a few people discovered they were not alone in enjoying the music played during BBC and ITV Trade Test Transmissions. They teamed up and agreed to appeal in the press and television to investigate whether others had the same interest. It was also decided at the time to publish a regular magazine with readers' memories and details of music and visual sequences. The publicity resulted in a number of enthusiasts from across the United Kingdom coming forward. Each person who contacted the group thought he or she was alone in appreciating test card music.

Now, because of increased publicity and the release of several test card music CDs, the TCC has dramatically increased its membership. So what's so appealing about the music? For many it was the mystique. The test card was transmitted by television companies at times when viewers weren't supposed to be watching. So it was a bonus to be able to 'listen in' to a wide variety of orchestral and instrumental tunes at times when most people thought there was nothing on. (And in the sixties and seventies there were long periods during the day when no programmes were shown - BBC 2 for example would often close down at 11.25am and not re-open until 7.30pm). Don't be fooled into thinking this was bland lift music. Far from it, the test card provided an outlet for high quality entertainment by well-established artists. Included in a day's schedule might be light classical pieces, big band numbers and medleys from the shows. In addition listeners could hear a large number of original compositions and novelty pieces. These tunes would be recorded on half hour or hour long compilations, so would always appear in the same order. On BBC 1 and BBC 2 at any time there was a maximum of seven tapes on the go, each remaining in service for on average eighteen months.

The music played by the BBC was Library Music. These were tunes specially recorded for television and radio companies to play in trailers, adverts, themes and so on, and were cheaper to use than commercial material. Many members of the TCC remember their great distress when, after enquiring to the BBC where they could buy the music, received a reply which coldly explained that this music was not available in the shops. So the only thing for it was to record the music directly from the television, usually using a hand held microphone, and many fans speak of recordings of tunes which included dogs barking in the background, telephones ringing and mothers calling them in for tea! However, despite this, the group has managed to re-create almost all the tapes ever used by the BBC. For many, the golden age of test card music was from the mid sixties to the late seventies, but membership interests span from the early 1950s through to the overnight Ceefax breaks which took place on BBC TWO right up until October 2012.

I've been searching for anything I can find from this library (mid to late 50's) for ages.
Only few selections I could find are from the M-M-M release of 'The Blob' soundtrack.

The entire Valentino Production Sound Effects library is out there to be had, but the Music Library.....................??????

When I first downloaded it, the assuption was that it was the OST from 'Black Samurai' - , but I.m not totaly convinced - it probably contains the library music contained here, but to me the back cover doesn't seem to fit in with the OST front cover accompanying it. (thats why I show the back cover first).

All that is old is new again, to paraphrase Ecclesiastes. Hip and trendy are another way to describe recycled. The old musical genres of long ago are now the hot new thing. Every generation “discovers” some previous generation’s favorites and makes it their own. Note the resurgence in popularity of swing music. Everyone is jitterbugging their way across the world. Can the Charleston and the Foxtrot have their day again, too? What about the Waltz or the Minuet? Nostalgia is always big business, and if you’re looking for a music library that can bring you a massive number of different musical styles and elements of the past, then The Evergreen Library from Valentino just might be what you’re looking for.

Valentino Production Music and Sound Effects Inc. has been around since 1932. They started out supplying sound effects to the radio and movie industry and the early days of television. They branched into production music libraries as the need grew. They’ve supplied music for the scores of some well known movies ranging from The Blob to King of Comedy to Saturday Nite Fever to Friday 13th Part 3, and some of your favorite TV shows over the years including many current shows like The Simpsons, Saturday Nite Live, Conan O’Brien, Kids in the Hall, and Malcom in the Middle. In addition, they are the only production music company to have won a Grammy Award (for the song “A Fifth of Beethoven” from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack—yep, that was their work).

For this review, I’m going over their Evergreen Music Library which is their single biggest music library at 113 CDs. They sent me all 113. It’s also their oldest library with musical styles from the 1700s through the 1990s. That’s a huge amount of styles to cover. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the time to audition every single track, that’s nearly 3,000 of them for those of you interested in numbers. One minor snafu; they supplied the catalog for the Valentino Production Library which is entirely different from the Evergreen Library. No problem, however, as I just went to their Web Site, tvmusic.com, where you can download your own copy of the catalog. Warning: the Evergreen Catalog is 180 pages of Adobe Acrobat text. You may not want to do this yourself, unless you need it.

Valentino promotes “Evergreen” as a “professional Film, TV, and Radio production library with huge depth in styles, moods, and genres that other libraries don’t provide.” But if you ask me, it’s really a library for people who are in desperate need of authentic period music. Yes, they do have some contemporary tracks here, but the real strength of this library is the old sounding tracks. Now, before you say “I don’t need that much period music,” consider this: How many times do you find yourself looking for a bit of music that will perfectly match a scene in a theater of the mind piece that you wrote? How many times do you find yourself wishing you had a minuet for a George Washington President’s day sale spoof? Or a bit of music representing Abraham Lincoln? What about that swing music for your local nightclub, by the way? Or a bebop piece from the 1950s? Or some weird “Outer Limits” style science fiction music? A “Leave It To Beaver” type bed? Cheesy Detective shows? Hippie Musical numbers? A St. Patty’s Day track right out of The Quiet Man era? Patriotic Marches from the Civil War up to the Kennedys? A Superhero parody? German Polkas? Classical music from composers like Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms and others? Spanish Bullfights? Shakespearean spoof? Safari on the African Veldt for a Hemingway style piece? How many times a week are you searching for that “just right” piece of music that can set fire to the theater of the mind script you’ve written? If the answer is more than a few times a week, then Evergreen just might have the kind of stuff you’re looking for.

Yes, many of the tracks are old, but what an air of authenticity they have! You can close your eyes and put yourself right there on the big NBC or CBS radio soundstages with Bob Hope, Burns and Allen, or Orson Welles, and see the fun happening. Or, go the other route and imagine yourself standing with Mel Blanc and Stan Freberg voicing cartoon characters. You’ll find yourself thinking up scenes in your head as you listen to these tracks. Whether it’s for commercial use, promo use, morning show bit usage, or any number of other theater of the mind needs, if you’re looking for authentic sounding moods and styles, Evergreen has tons of it.

I wouldn’t recommend Evergreen as the only library you should have, especially if you work in modern rock formats. But it would be a good additional library to have for all the nostalgia and authentic period pieces it contains. For just two thousand dollars a year on a license agreement (no barter) you can have 113 discs of the widest range of old theater of the mind music tracks, jazz, blues, country, classical, easy listening, pops, gospel, international, etc. that you can find anywhere. Of course, if you work at a classical or nostolgia format station, this is your library all right.

Valentino has a very helpful website, as I mentioned previously, at www.tvmusic.com where you can even order the library and license agreement, and download samples and the catalogs. You can also audition their other music library and sound effect libraries. You can even browse their website in German, French or Spanish, should you desire. Volume 2
This edition of the Exclusive Blend series sees us enter the vaults of De Wolfe, Amphonic and KPM. When Volume 2 was released in September 1997 most of these library tracks, as with Volume 1, were getting their first ever commercial airing. In particular, the album introduced James Clarke's 'Wild Elephants' to the world, which was subsequently picked up by The Gap and used on their 'Khaki A-Go-Go' ad campaign of 1999, consequently being released and retitled 'Blow Up A-Go-Go!' as a single for Summer 1999. It later became the title track for 'Blow Up A-Go-Go! - Dancefloor Classics 'from the legendary Blow Up club' which was released in conjunction with V2.

Volume 3
It was three years since the release of Exclusive Blend Volume 2, but it was worth the wait. If you own both Volumes 1 and 2, you will know they are both on different tips - Volume 1 is a more up-tempo pop flavour of hammond-driven dancefloor jazz, while Volume 2 is a little slower, with a slightly more sophisticated 'soundtrack' edge. Similarly, Volume 3 will try to introduce something a little different again. Release Notes:
Deserted Palace is an album of experimental instrumental electroacoustic music composed and produced by Jean Michel Jarre, and released on Sam Fox Records in 1972. It is Jarre's very first album, released four years before his breakthrough album, Oxyg�ne. It was an album of library music, intended for use in television programmes, adverts, films, and so forth. It has not been subsequently re-released, although it is widely available as a bootleg. On 30 May 2011, several tracks from this album were officially released on the Essentials & Rarities compilation album.

La Cage is the 1971 debut single by Jean Michel Jarre. Although already produced in 1969, Jarre was unable to find a record label that was willing to release the single due to its experimental or futuristic sounds. After a few turn downs, he found Pathe Marconi willing to take the risk in 1971. But the single turned out to be a commercial failure, with only 117 copies sold. Pathe Marconi destroyed the remaining stock. However, the mastertape of La Cage was preserved, so that could be featured on the compilation Made in France in 1978. The single can also be found at the Rarities I bootleg compilation in 1994, while the rhythm of Erosmachine was reused throughout the track Chronolgie 2 from his 1993 album Chronologie.

The song was performed only one time in his career at Opera in Paris, when he produced the first electro-acoustic opera, AOR. Jarre became the youngest producer to see one of its works played at the Paris Opera, at it's reopening in 1971. It was the first time that electronic music had been allowed to be used, and Jarre even had to paint his speakers gold to match the decor of the opera house. There he performed with the Paris Opera Ballet and choreographer Norbert Schmucki.

Jarre himself had lost his copy during a move and didn't own it anymore until a fan presented him a copy as a gift.

Les granges br�l�es (The Burned Barns) is an album by Jean Michel Jarre, released in 1973 on Eden Roc, in France and Canada. It is the soundtrack to the film of the same name starring Simone Signoret and Alain Delon. In 2003 the album was re-released on CD by Disques Dreyfus.

Jean Michel Andr� Jarre (born 24 August 1948 in Lyon) is a French composer, performer and music producer. He is a pioneer in the electronic, ambient and New Age genres, and known as an organiser of outdoor spectacles of his music featuring lights, laser displays, and fireworks.

Jarre was raised in Lyon by his mother and grandparents, and trained on the piano. From an early age he was introduced to a variety of art forms, including those of street performers, jazz musicians, and the artist Pierre Soulages. He played guitar in a band, but his musical style was perhaps most heavily influenced by Pierre Schaeffer, a pioneer of musique concr�te at the Groupe de Recherches Musicales.

His first mainstream success was the 1976 album Oxyg�ne. Recorded in a makeshift studio at his home, the album sold an estimated 12 million copies. Oxyg�ne was followed in 1978 by �quinoxe, and in 1979 Jarre performed to a record-breaking audience of more than a million people at the Place de la Concorde, a record he has since broken three times. More albums were to follow, but his 1979 concert served as a blueprint for his future performances around the world. Several of his albums have been released to coincide with large-scale outdoor events, and he is now perhaps as well known as a performer as well as a musician.

As of 2004 Jarre had sold an estimated 80 million albums. He was the first Western musician officially invited to perform in the People's Republic of China, and holds the world record for the largest-ever audience at an outdoor event.

As I never knew the term or even realised what 'Library Music' actually was until knowing about this thread, all my offerings on the subject are actually 'plagarised' from the here and now (from other web sources) and it's appreciated when other members who actually 'own' the original stuff, actually take the time and effort to rip, scan, achieve the best quality and present the results of their efforts for the rest of us.

So appreciation and thanks for the updates, and hopefully anyone out there that can do the same for any other or future posts of mine, please, please do so.

I want to thank szatan67 and oliverino for their fantastic library music shares in this thread created by cratedigga. Especially, sharing the KPM 1000 series Green LP Flac stuff. I haven't seen them lately, but I hope both of them do more of the KPM 1000 series Flac versions in the future. Thanks again, I gave you both rep's for all your hardwork ;-)

Due to some twat from the forum I (along with others) have been hit by Mega with 'Withdrawn Notices' - It seems to have affected early postings (with regards to my postings on this thread it appears that 'Sound Prospect - Hit Man' and my posts leading up to it, apart from the odd one, links have been Withdrawn. No-one else from this thread has suffered, to my knowledge, and other members from the forum have been hit much harder than me.
Hence (for now new uploads of mine here, will probably be with 'Zippyshare'. With Zippyshare there is a rule that '30 days inactivity with regards to use of the links means that that link will be lost. So if I don't get round to downloading the links myself frequently or if I just plain forget, then it could well be a case for those of you interested of 'Use it - or Loose it'. Sorry about that, but these things happen and a re-think is neccessary, and hopefully I should get around to renewing my lost links, over time.

Here's a couple of offerings from Harlem Pop Trotters, a French outfit including Jean-Claude Pierric and Fran�ois Rolland, among others (I think). I can't find much info, there's a blog post I found in French but it doesn't translate very meaningfully.



There's some great grooves here; the French have a way of keeping things rolling along which really appeals.

Loved the 'Harlem Pop Trotters' - they certainly weren't doing themselves any favours by putting the word 'Pop' in-between Harlem Trotters - it actually understates how good the albums are. And I didn't really recognise much Pop in the music - Rock, slight Jazz, certainly, but outright Pop, no.

I posted the link openly first, but it was reported to Mega and taken down immediately. This has been happening a lot on this forum lately. I have always posted the links openly until this happened. I guess it is a choice between a thread with dead links or at least the possibility of getting the files albeit with more hassle involved.

I totally agree with you in principle, but feel that it's not worth it when the files get taken down so fast. Since it's your thread I will follow your rules and share with open links or not at all.

You are right Oli, even if I hate that, I'm now obliged to adopt the same strategy, because I've just seen that all my MEGA links were also taken down, thus I withdraw what I said.
Concerning the potential informer, I have my little idea, but I can't tell nothing more for now...

Dawn of the Dead: The Unreleased Incidental Music

Much of the music used in the film was licensed from the De Wolfe Music Library, a much utilized source of stock music for film and TV projects. Although the Goblin score has been variously available since the film's release, it was not until 2004 that any of the highly sought-after 60-plus cues of library music used in the film were released on a compilation album from Trunk Records. All these cues (actually 74 library music pieces) have been researched & found by Allen Lighthiser & Darren Stuart in 2008/2009 and published on the Dawn Of The Dead Ultimate Soundtrack website.[1] The album included 'Cause I'm a Man' written by Cliff Twemlow and Peter Taylor under the pen name Peter Reno and recorded by the Pretty Things, and Herbert Chappell's 1965 composition "The Gonk" which plays over the final credits.[2] The track is used in many references to the film including Shaun of the Dead and a variation (performed in chicken clucks) is used as the end theme to Robot Chicken. The early part of the tune to "The Gonk" was used in "The Ladies' Bras", a track by Jonny Trunk and Wisbey which, at only 36 seconds long, became the shortest ever UK top 40 single when it made number 27 on 30 September 2007. Shaun of the Dead opens with the track "Figment" which also features on the compilation. The album's cover is taken from a Belgian promotional poster for the film.

The pieces of this collection blend jazz, funk, world music and progressive rock with percussive breaks, marimba solos, piano riffs and moog licks in a state of the art performance by Piero and his orchestra.

Original Italian pressing on FLIRT label (LIR 0436), from 1971. Very obscure session from the maestro under one of his many pseudonyms (others include Moggi / Braen / Zalla etc). The Lp is quite ghostly, evocative and gently psychedelic featuring melodic and trippy themes. A couple of dark, avantgarde jazz-beat sounding compostions and a groovy psychedelic Western theme too! Lots of spatial / skeletal sounds with beautiful piano notes / folk jazz flute, fender bass, spinette / guitar / hammond etc. The musical message is social unease and working-class struggle. Unknown soundtrack themes / mood music created for film / TV and radio so listen to the soundclip. Very rare Library Lp!!!

Yeah, the frustrating thing is somebody owns that record and ripped it to upload to Youtube. It used to be available on youtube as a rip from the LP. That video was removed by Youtube, but somebody (or maybe the same uploader) used that same rip to time it to the original video broadcast, so you could see the video using the voiceless audio from the LP. So as rare as it is, someone has it and ripped it, but only uploaded it to Youtube. Shame they didn't jump in here and share it in a higher-quality form.

You are totally amazing, my friend! Many thanks jamie6747 for sharing your 24 Amphonic Music Library set ;-) I've listened to majority of the lossless and the sound quality is great! But I had corrupted file issues with ten albums. Some tracks won't play and I've listed them below. There are four albums that are lossy mp3 format. One album that is lossless but had a compression of 75% with the sound very low. Thanks again jamie for your hard work. ;-)

*Note 1: FYI: Four of the Amphonic: #101, #122, #123 and #124 are lossy mp3 format. Twenty albums are lossless ALAC.

*Note 2: #108 says it is lossless, but the sound quality is very low. All tracks are compressed 75%.
