Thank you for the quick response for the link, I will look forward to comparing the two versions I now have, I have also found myself eager to try your Star Trek set, that you took time to do, which I will also compare. Over the many years I've been collecting film music I must say that I do tend to lean towards a stereo release, mono sounds good but the sound always seems pinched to me. Good work from what I've heard so far and hard work too.

You said that you'd welcome criticism, so the die hard purist in me has to ask, what is the difference between doing this and colorization, the insidious gimmick of adding a wan, funeral parlor pallette to black-and-white movies? My intent is not to slight your work, but I love mono as much as I do black-and-white. Do we have to try so hard to erase the past? Generally the first to shoot down an ungrateful poster's requests for FLAC files, this time I find myself asking, "Got mono?"

Your instincts for purist fidelity are perfectly sound and this should be seen as an experiment in "entertainment enhancement" as opposed to absolute fidelity of source.

You see, I was raised in an era when MGM began peddling stereo-enhanced soundtracks of The Wizard of Oz. It sounded as if it was remastered in a subway terminal and I've been gunshy of anything but the original ever since. This amazing Goldsmith score now sounds incredible.Wow!

Edit; Prior to today,my favorite Goldsmith score was either Capricorn One or In Harms Way. After listening to this conversion it's now The List of The Adrian Messenger.
