Biblical Songs
The content of the CD is comprised by spiritual character and biblical themes. The vast majority are psalms of David, based on Isaac Bashevis Singer's Gimpel the Fool, which play was featured in Klicperovo divadlo (Klicpera Theatre). Some chants were also used in the theatrical play Romeo and Juliet, held for two seasons in Prague Castle, as part of the Shakespeare Festival in 2004. The CD features several songs with biblical themes, including two sections of the Multi-media artistic project "Missa Ecumenica", presented under the auspices of Pavel Bm, the Mayor of the City of Prague, in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the terrorist attack against the U.S.A., and in memory of all the victims and survivors of terrorist attacks and wars. In the concluding part of the project: expressing their hope for mutual understanding among mankind, irrespective of different traditions and views, the desire for a world without wars and violence, for a world belonging to all mankind, a world called ECUMENA: the authors have expressed their life-long optimism and belief in the victory of good over evil. It was held on September 11, 2006 in Smetana Hall, Prague.
