So here it is, the set that’s been going around the trading circles. Some traders have a lossless version, but this should do for now.

Some observations:
– The sessions don’t contain any versions of "Ratatouille Main Theme" or "Le Festin."
– "A Special Order" and "Kiss and Vinegar" were very obviously taken straight off the OST.
– "Hang Ups" was taken from the Cast & Crew disc.

More observations can be found in my breakdown of the score (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5_sWxk9RMY8cFZhaVREbkIxalU/edit?usp=sharing). As you can see in my spreadsheet, a truly complete edition of the score would have well over 60 tracks.

Although I’m pretty confused as to what material is actually here… looking at your breakdown, it would seem there are some cues heard in the film that are on the C&C but not the sessions? Also, did these ever have slate numbers?

These sessions DO have slates, but they’re not listed on here. The file names have the slates, but, when imported into iTunes, they appear as here (no slates), so I’ve just had to go through and add them back in.

Just to say, GregsonPowell, in reference to your breakdown of the score, "Colour You Can Smell" parts 1, 2, and 3 are most definitely not alternates. If you’ve seen the film, you’ll remember that they are the little cues that play when Remy eats first the cheese, then the strawberry, and then both the cheese and strawberry together.

Just thought I’d point that out. 🙂

Don’t know, but the sessions had some cues different on the OST & CC. Which is why my version has 68 tracks and runs about 123 min.

What he does is distasteful. I agree, but there are not apparently forum rules being broken, aside from identical archives should be posted in the same thread as mirrors. The most mods can do is to merge the threads. We cannot prove that he got the archive here. He **could** have encountered it elsewhere and posted here. I suppose. Once posted here, a set is spread everywhere with little to no credit attached. IF he encountered a link elsewhere, it is POSSIBLE he’d have no idea it came from here. Plausible deniability, so nothing for mods to do about it. I believe Jessie addressed this concept in a post in the Trek thread…..

The admin can’t punish people for reuploading stuff and sharing without giving credit to the original uploader. We don’t have time to track down every single upload to make sure someone else hasn’t posted it before and make sure proper credit is given. As Amanda has said, once something hits the net it gets passed around so much, hits torrent sites within minutes and creates new sources for other filehosting uploads by different people on different sites. But what we would like is for people that know where or whom they got it from to give them credit, but it has to be up to the person doing the reuploading. We can’t force them to give credit because then we’d need proof for the person claiming credit that they purchased and made a rip of the music in question and prove they actually bought it or are the original source with like a paypal receipt or picture of them actually holding the CD and that’s just madness, nobody has time for that.

Just tag your files with your name or add a log before uploading, that’s really the only way you can insure people know the source. If people remove the tags on the files then that’s pretty bad, but again you can’t really know for sure who removed the tags or if the upload is from another source or someone else bought the CD too. So all i’m saying is demanding credits be given is pointless, it’s up to the person to do it if they know who and where they got it from. There’s no point singling people out for doing it because we all do it or have done it at some point.

He still has conscience when he took stuff from ffshrine to his site after some of our shriners put on ‘Please don’t steal my posts and claim them as your own, have the guts to show where you stole them!’ on their original posts.
He puts ‘thanks to KevinG’ or ‘thanks to…’ on some of his posts but never mentioned ffshrine maybe don’t wanna his followers find out where he got all these soundtracks & scores.

Well, he just can’t help but repost others’ uploads, and with terrible file host.
This will give Sanico a lot of work to do.

Which is the other point mods and members will make, variety is the spice of life. I know a few members either cannot stand or cannot use mega, but I still use it almost exclusively. The saying goes, the more links active, the better for the forum. He never credits ME, and he never credits any artists here who the do the custom art for my rips either. But, whatever. Yes, Download Soundtracks is his.

Yes, we all know he does it – and he uses the most shitty servers to do it, but he’s not breaking any laws. It pisses me off as much as the next person. I would hate to see you guys on a torrent site, once a cam version of a film gets posted, everyone does their own edit and uploads it, it’s crazy. It’s not half as bad here as it is on those sites. Trust me..

Yes, and the bitching does no good. I complained bitterly about this when my personal web rips and edits, and custom art provided for them, were upped to his site then proudly reposted here. I pulled nearly all my links. All that happened is people said I was being selfish. So, outrage over a commercial album being reshared, but hard work and time, and artistic work, that’s ok. I get it. Nothing happened. The threads have been merged. I at least could prove it was my work due to a few custom alterations, and we could prove the art was generated here. No one complained with that. You cannot PROVE any direct link on a commercial release, and mods have already stated it cannot be enforced.

How do you think all the composers feel when they see that their soundtrack score was posted? When they know it’s posted, they know they probably won’t make much more money on it. It probably really hurts them. And what about crediting the original artist for the artwork that people add to, or take from multiple pictures to make one. Don’t you think they might be upset? I understand what it feels like to get ‘your’ stuff re-posted even though it’s not yours. It’s happened to me, but I’m still here, and I’m still sharing things, that aren’t mine…and honestly, I shouldn’t and have no right to provide you all with. I’m sorry but that’s true. Just saying. I’m out.

I agree with you about the composers. I would feel a little hurt seeing my work posted here (emphasis on "my"), and I try to buy (Age of Extinction) when I can. It’s true that everything I have posted is not mine, but I put so much time and effort into what I post. I mean look at my sig, I’m The Vinyl One. It is so painstaking to rip, import, split/extract, export, upload and post vinyl. It’s a process. But I do this because everyone loves them and I always strive to bring to the shrine what others cannot / what’s considered different. I’m not Joe Schmoe who posts an average, everyday OST in FLAC, especially one that has been posted a million times over. (Gonna spare the embarrassment of pulling up a list of threads which are all of the same thing) Screw that. I wanna bring a different flavor here. I have made several suites that I am very proud of, yet I will not post. And like you said, it’s not my work. It’s the composer’s work. Their time, thoughts, dedication and hard work went into it. But in a way, so did mine. I’m no musician, but I’ve got notebooks filled with notes on all my suites. How I wanted them constructed, pieces that I wanted fading into each other, ideas I would think of at any random time (and write down as soon as I thought of one). I would think about things in my sleep. So in short, while it is not my work, I do feel like it is my right to deny anyone the right to re-post something of mine. Not gonna apologize, I always speak my mind and that’s how I honestly feel. Anyone disagree? Tough shit. You’re all entitled to your own opinions, of course.

Interesting discussion and I can see how tapoktro’s rerun threads are a little annoying. Honestly though, my thread seems to have gotten what little attention there was to be had — and since the mods saw fit to combine our threads, it’s all good.
