The music sounds quite interesting and has a good atmosphere. This type of composition is far more exciting than approximately the completely over the top rated score to "Oblivion". I had, perhaps a little hasty, something expected of the two scores, but only Roque Baos has written music I want to listen to more than once. And it was an awful torture, by listening through "Oblivion". Greetings!

Thanks.

I think the Expanded Score (Thread 127259) is musically superior to this La-La Land

I m quite surprised to see how much people love the siren sound on this score and say how original and scary it is. On an interview Roque Banos said that he heard it during his nightmares and decided to add it to the score, but i m pretty sure he heard it in Penderecki's work "Fluorescences for orchestra". That doesn't mean i don't like this score, Banos is one of my fav composer. But no doubt Penderecki is one major influence in this score

Really why? I haven't heard the expanded so I'm curious to know.

Also what was the original source of the 'expanded' score?

And turn back the clock farther to Edgard Varse's "Amriques" from 1918 (rev. 1927) for the first use of sirens. Like yourself I'm surprised I've read no mention of this precedent.

So, what the hell

And here, kiddies, for your music broadening lesson today (in this dire age of 2 note superhero themes), is Amriques (http://www.4shared.com/zip/EtK5C8qs/ev-amer.html) composed by Edgar Varse almost a 100 years ago. Note the sirens.
