Typo tried fishing yet?
Another very interesting update! What I read almost makes Typo want to accumulate some merits on BLM, but only almost. ;3 WHM and SAM new job candy looks great, although I don't see Divine Seal/Veil being used for anything but curing in most situations.
Fishing? Typo like that everyone can now see whatcha fish up. I'll probably get back into it just to see if the new fishing system can even hope to match the perfection of Breath of Fire III's, but since I highly doubt fishing can make any more money than mining, I'm likely to only use fishing to make a "quick" 50k if I need it to restock on food or something. Dunno when I'll try it out, I'm busy with leveling stuff. More on that later. :3
ENMs are sounding too tasty taru resist. It doesn't seem like they'll be abuseable with the 5-day cool-down period, but who really believed it'd be that easy to get "free exp" anyway ?:3

The Beautiful View from Phomiuna Aqueducts...?</center>
Unbelievable explored Phomiuna Aqueducts (I love typing/saying that and will type it in full each and every time) for the first time last week, and also completed Mr. Nag's "little" challenge (
). We did some subligar hunting which provided some memorable moments of {fun} (
) and {/joy} (
) (poor kittyless Aickhume) while we were at it~
Riverne Site A01 ish scheduled for Friday evening. Prishe promises even more adventure (
), and Typo ish looking ahead, all-smiles~!
Over the weekend, Typo answered a random shout for a group to go avatar hunting. I'm 2/6 on whispers as we managed to defeat Ifrit and Titan, but lost to Garuda and Ramuh ._. Never would have thought Garuda would pose a challenge, but Whispering Wind spam kinda sucks. Kinda. Anyway, nu, I not intend taru continue SMN at this point in time, but I'll take any chance that arises to collect more whispers. We're gonna meet again this weekend to hopefully proceed a few steps closer taru obtaining Fenrir~
Phomiuna.
Before me go, just a couple thoughts:
Can SE or anyone for that matter possibly do anything at all to make me even remotely care about the existance of Ballista ?:3
Aqueducts.
And what's with the whole step-up-ladder-to-zone cutscene in Phomiuna Aqueducts? Reminds me of Resident Evil. :3

LOL ! That's EXACTLY what we ALL said the first time we saw it... :p
Yeah, subligar hunting can make you hate Phomiuna Aqueducts. I got mine, but that's also we found a lone Fomor Paladin. Laure and Yuuki got theirs too, since they're WHM and SMN, and there's a lone SMN near the entrance. Jago, William and Backus weren't so lucky. :p
So you're going for Riverne Site-A01 ? Good luck, getting to the NM is cake. We couldn't beat it last time though. But next time will be different. I wish I could go with you, but I'll most likely need to help Jago with the NM in Sanctuary of Zi'Tah for Z5, because PaiMei is taking us to do Z6 on Saturday.

Hey, it's my friendly neighborhood Paladin rival, Daison. Glad you came by.
Anyway, remember what I said about PaiMei taking us to Z6 ? Well, that was canned. Big time. As in " we make you wait for 7 hours for NOTHING " big time, then they go to Riverne Site B-01 and Dynamis-Windurst instead. As in " we take idiots like Dargonis, who gets lost and dies multiple times in mission, plus is a extremely bad tank, right away in our LS but we make dedicated and skilled players like Evaddaragon, Jago and Laurewen wait until they reach level 70 to recruit them".
Screw PaiMei. We don't need them to do the Zilarts. We'll reach our level 70-71, then go get Sky OURSELVES, like everything else we've done before. :P

I probably never mentioned it directly, but that's another of the wonderful traits of an HNM/Dynamis/Mission-based LS - the waiting, late arrivals, and cancellations sans warning. Boy ish Typo feeling pessimistic todey, but there's more truth than bitterness in what I said back there, trust meh. "X3 Good on you for deciding once again taru take things into your own hands, Dave.
I'm a bit perturbed at the fact that now that I'm in WW, a very stable, very successful LS, I just haven't been feeling BLM or any high-level activity at all, though Typo must later mention the outcome of the avatar hunts I've been going on over the last two weekends. Promised LB I'd be active with FF and God-smacking, but only managed to let the guy down a hundred times already. -.- Not intarusted in anything abjuration-related either... but I do want taru make meself useful sometime, whenever I get over my new fetish...

Action~!</center>
Back in meleeland, Typo has been going through basic tankonimcs and getting some much needed pulling practice at the same time. I throw the word "refreshing" in here again because it describes just how it feels for a seasoned mage taru lay down his robes and pull out the axe. Nu not that axe.
Being in the front line can be confusing, and old habits die hard... Typo remember telling Moggie the other day that in me first PT as a WAR, when I met the party at camp I ran right past the MNK and THF and stood in the back with the RDM and BLM "X3~~ Been adjusting gradually, and I can feel myself finding me groove with WAR too. ^.^

Excitarument~!</center>
Yet, it's taken a week to get from 12-18, though Typo not been leveling every night. Still, I'm not used to being in consistantly weak PTs with the rare stray good PT in every single exp session... Meguess Valkurm really has gotten worse since me time with SMN last May... *shudder* It ish hard sometimes to tell whether I'm doing me job well or not. Most of the time people invite Typo to be main tank, while at the same time being the lowest-level in the PT. Huh. Keeping hate in this kind of PT situation with just Provoke and Boost (along with the occasional Berserk for WS or emergencies) can be tedious when I'm level 14 and missing most of me swings against Damselflies, while the other DDs are 16 and 17 with few accuracy issues, and the BLM casts without delay. You've heard it all before, Typo need not continue ._.;;
I'm sure someone ish itching taru ask: "So Typo, why you stay in PT after you see everybady higher than you!?"
And Typosay: "'Cause it rude to leave, and guaranteed if me seek PT again I'll be invited back into the same PT, or a different PT with same smelly setup. :3"
Valkurm nubs have become so lazy, you hear questions like this:
"ware's teh PL???"
Excuse the spelling, that not Typofault, but when the presence of a PL is expected in each and every party before level 20, you have to wonder what levels 30-50 will become in future... I don't bother trying to explain to people anymore that "that's not how we did things in the old days!". In fact, Typo ish looking for a personal PL with the abilities "MakeEXP" and "GiveEXP"; the sooner you can hook a taru up with level 33-ish exp, just taru get me out of the more notorious nubzones, the better! Prefer mithracat (kinky ones like CoP's new "Sweetcheeks (
)" cat here. A feisty one indeed!).

Deja-vu...</center>
Weekends have been avatarfests with much dying and waiting involved. Typo's reward for the hard work of our semi-static ish a nice shiny Moon Bauble that I'm hoping taru use on Saturday to obtain a certain flourescent blue doggy...
Anywhoo, nini, piccies (http://photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/), and welcome, Dhalmel~! Enjoy your stay. ;3

Well, Tu'Lia, here I come. That is, once I reach 71 or so.
For this week, intensive leveling is on the program.
Yesterday, I ended up with my own private harem. Here's pics for all to see :

After talking with Daison, we came to the conclusion that this was due to the PLD AF. When all five pieces are combined, it triggers a latent effect called Female Charm. This constantly produced this message in my log :
The female is attracted by Evaddaragon's presence.
Yeah, makes perfect sense, doesn't it ? Whether japanese, american, quebecer, Mithra, Hume, Taru or Elvaan, all fall under my charm. God, I feel special. :P
Uh, there's 2 cats onry...and they seem more intarusted in the mountains ^.^/
Also, Daison's a dhalmel an elv. Talking about "charm" with one of those ish like...well it's like talking to Typo about being totally ignored and hated by misura everywhere - the two just not relate at all ._.;;;

Why settling with Mithras when you can get all females ?
Elvaan have a lot more charm than Tarus, although they usually are more self-centered.
Also, besides your friends, all Mithras in my LS are annoyed by your licking, so it actually relates a lot more than you would think.

Yuuki plays along with you SOLELY because I told her you were my friend. She was annoyed at you at first. And so was Mihmendra. That's quite the tendency to prove my point. Your licking IS annoying, Typo. Face it. The only thing for you here is that with time, they get to know you, realize you're actually a nice but pervert Taru, and play along, but from the start, it's plain annoying.
Ah, I shouldn't have expecting anything else from a narrow-minded Tarutaru. ^^ Cats or nothing, huh.
Ah, such a crime these days taru have a preference. It okie, Dave, you'll learn someday that these things can happen without the notions of narrow-mindedness and discrimination being involved.

If you were Typo, this would have some kind of validity, but since Typo ish already Typo, meaning you aren't Typo, and since your kitty "sample" consists of a mere handful out of thousands of kitties everywhere, you're sadly restricted to a very narrow, biased opinion based on your own jealousy of Typolove and fan base ^.^/ It okie Dave, you have friend too! /comfort

You'd learn that if you had studied in Law, discrimination IS involved as soon as one treats somebody differently for a trivial reason, as in, liking Mithras and no other races. Although it isn't of a lot of harmful consequence, it remains a fact. Willingly ignoring it is in fact narrow-mindedness. ^^

This isn't law, this isn't discrimination... ish like saying I'm discriminating against pineapple juice because I'd rather drink apple, which me find tastier. Let's see some real "discrimination" happen as a result of that .-. It's simply about who Typo would rather lick~ /nod

YAY!! I can finally post! Thanks so much Baron von Typotaru!! (/bow, /kneel) As most of you know me, I guess intro's aren't needed. ^.^ Just wanted to say {Hello!} and Typo, Fenrir is as good as dead tonight! See ya then!
Welcome, Derufin, and also, sawwy! Last night was an intarusting night. After struggling with a WHMless PT in the dunes, Sarevokky let Typo know that everyone was preparing for Fenrir. I made the long journey from Selbina to Jeuno via boat >> airship, changed jobs, and rode the airship back to Windurst. To get a head start on everyone, I made me way to the InHorutoto Ruins in Esartabarta, and this (

) occurred as I attempted to zone in. I couldn't log back on as Typo.
My mules were fine, but when I took Typocat from Windurst to InHorutoto, the same error occurred and once again I'm kicked back onto POL.
Made my second ever GM call, where I was told it was most likely a corrupt file, and the only way I could really fix that was through re-installation. I went through hours worth of ordeals trying to fix the problem, some of which you can see here (
http://ffxi.killvoid.com/forums.php?m=posts&q=34197), and finally I was able to uninstall the game, and re-install. Currently downloading the updates, so I'll be back (and macroless ; ;) after a nice long sleep.
Did you guys still go on without Typo? I could have been back on tonight on PS2, but I was too focused on fixing my immediate problem on PC. "X3

How ironic.
I also experienced problems yesterday. Apparently, my PS2 HDD was crippled with many errors. After many unsuccesful tries, I had to diagnose and repair the HDD. Then, it wouldn't let me log into POL. I had to reinstall POL, but luckily, didn't have to reinstall FFXI and CoP, so my macros and markers were left intact.
As soon as I logged yesterday, Derufin sent me a tell, asking me if I had a moon bauble because their tank abandonned them. lol Well, seeing as I haven't done Avatar battles yet, I had no idea what it was, of course.
I hope your problems, like mine, are over and done with. I still need your help this evening, remember ? ^^

Hey Kristof! Glad to hear from you again, I hope all is going well for ya! Anyway, the Fenrir fight went horrifically, in fact, count yourself lucky typotaru that you did DC. We waited for hours for the tank to come back, he never did, so we got us another. Of course, even with a 75 pld, that left us short 1 Typo, and 1 RDM. Eventually, after 4 hours of waiting, the plan was scrapped. It was a very frustrating ordeal, and reminded me again of how unreliable some people can be... (referring to our tank) Oh well, I finally got lvl 68 last night, and am currently pimpin' in a Black Cloak! =-O The doggy will have to wait for another day... but his day is coming.

Hehe... Tu'lia sounds like a 2 dolla hooker. :3
Hallo journal~! Keke, this post ish way overdue, but for very good reason!
Lvl 25 TypoWAR / Lvl 19 TypoMNK
As I tell Evad already, I've been planning taru once again sell me black mage gear, only this time it's not because I'm short on cash...With adaman ores back up to 90k each, Typo could probably make near 400-500k daily in me hot summer home. There's just no point having it all just lying around when I have no intention to use it...all 5.5 million of it. .
A month and a bit ago I joined Whirling Wind, and this was at a time where I didn'taru really know what to do with myself. I was in the process of TypoSMN, deciding if this was "the" next lvl75 job for me, and didn't really want to take the time away from that to devote meself exclusively taru HNM and Gods and other such high-level activity.
Weeks went by where I'd just turn down invites for Behemoth or Fenrir or {insert God here}, or just plain stay quiet in LS so Typo could keep exping on me low level job. I felt so guilty after a while for just being there, but never helping, I just plain didn't equip the LS at all for about 2-3 weeks. It dawned on me at some point that I'd never really get into it anytime soon, even though I've wanted in an LS like this for so long. My interest in high-level work seems to occur on a seasonal basis, and this just happens to be a season of new beginnings for Typo right nau.
Typo and LB did talk about it recently. ^.^ I've already sent me BLM semi-ubergear to the afterlife, and am carrying enough gil to make TypoWAR or TypoMNK extremely happy and well-kept until perhaps level 60... I dunno if I wanna put him out like this, but he did say Typo could borrow his gear, which ish much shinier than what Typo had ("X3), if needed~^^. Now that ish generous and just plain awesome of Bearbear. \(*'-')/ I couldn't, nor wouldn't leave WW anyway! Of all the existing HNMLS's out there that Typo know of, it's my favourite. It's got the right balance of everything, really, and doesn't have a notorious reputation like, well, KoN, even though there's plenty good taru say about KoN too. WW also has lots of Typofriends to keep in touch with, and from now on Typo will visit more often to do just that. /nod nod
And so with BLM dormant once again, I'm left with all me time to give taru me growing melee skills~! Now, Typo may take shots at NIN sometimes because of me BLM instinctaru prefer a PLD for run-of-the-mill EXP sessions, but I've always greatly admired their style and hyper work-rate in battle. They have to be one of the busiest, most intense jobs to actually -be-, and is quite clearly not an everyman job that the masses could master. Similarly ish WAR/NIN, with their good damage potential to add to their nifty blinks and dual-wielding of axes. NIN/WAR and its inverse are all about finesse and stylish aggression. And so, Typo has always secretaruly wondered what life would be like as a NIN main, until one day I decided to actarully live as a WAR, and soon afterwards, a MNK, in preparation for me blink tanking days.
But in leveling MNK I found an even more fun, more powerful, easier, faster version of WAR in both soloing from 1-10, and PTing up to 19. MNK has so few responsibilities in battle compared to other jobs, and being able to be so laid-back all the time while still being able to do your job perfectly ish just a lazy chubbytaru's wet dream. @_@ Although NIN now appeals to me in so many aspectarus, I not sure if I want that much responsibility in each and every PT I join. "X3 Typo has decided taru give Monk a go, and see what I can do to 40 and beyond. I would have made it to 20 in Valkurm if the locals weren't so retarded, pardon me lack of Typotact here, so a frustrated me took to Qufim Island as TypoWAR to level his sub.
The past 5 levels have featured some exceptional PTs with promising talent blooming forth from a few members of our new generation of adventarus! 'Course there've been far more bad PTs, and many stupid, just...stupid people (there goes me tact again ; ;) to cause them. Yet ish always fun, at least for nau!
Ish fun to be a tarutaru with an axe that's just your size. Ish also fun to have so much less HP than other melee, but take damage much better, and deal it out like a tremor ram~! I not know if it's the extra +STR I have on me from me Cassie Earring, or that I eat mithkabobs for power instead of fish for DEF even when I'm tanking sometimes, but Typo has so far outdamaged everybody of all jobs and races I've partied with, without exception, even people with similar gear.. *_*
This one galka WAR in Qufim with the same level and +STR equipment as me, except for the Earring (+1 STR), and ate mithkabobs while at the time Typo was pumping meat jerky (kabobs have +2 STR +1 AGI advantage), had an average attack damage of 20-60/swing on pugils, while Typo massacred them for 40-80 ._. Yeah I know, Typo need more ATK. ...Maybe his weapon skill wasn't capped like Typo's, but how far behind could it have been if that was the case ?._. Oh well! I not expectaru be such a monster forever, but I'm deifnitely enjoying it while it last!
I still need to get used to seeing me HP drop to orange/red/dead after Jet Streams and Screwdrivers and such... I'm still going into "Heart Attack Mode" when Typo get hit by stuff like that, criticals and all that hurtful stuff. ; ; But I do enjoy controlling the hate and making it easy for my mages, especially since most of the time all Typo have to do to keep hate ish Provoke at the beginning of battle and just swing... BLM/WHM/RNG go crazy and can't rip hate at all because of my stupid damage and accuracy, as well as the occasional Boost, counter attack, and since Typo turned 25, double attack. In the event of Typo losing hate and have TP, Berserk > Boost > Sturmwind = 100-160 (

) dmg, and gives me enmity right back, perfect taru keep me through to the next 'vokies. "X3 Me record on damage ish 162, but I not have clear screenshot. -.-
At one point I was thinking maybe Typo not bother taru level THF anymore, and just go WAR > 40, MNK > 40+, but seeing Sturmwind do so much glorious damage without sneak attack makes Typomouth water at the prospectaru of doing 300+ in the 30's with THF sub. ._. It means that upon reaching lvl30 WAR, Typo gonna go back and level THF from scratch, at least to 20 before returning to me WAR. X3 I'm still MNK-crazy, but these subs are getting leveled first so I can TypoMNK non-stop~ ^.^/

Mandragoras are plenty evasive. Typo ish thinking about more dex/accuracy gear I could be wearing, but there's none I could switch to without losing another important stat - attack. :3 And so Typo ish struggling for TP, and seeing much smaller numbers more often, which I suspected in me last post would happen sometime soon. ._.

Tonights PT wasn't too happy... We started off well, but then people turned 27, which ish a bit too high for Yuhtunga unless it's fairly empty and you can chain like crazy~ Later on we'd pick up a few replacements, who weren't so bad themselves, but our PT setup was kinda sad:
WAR/MNK (Typo) - WAR/(underleveled)MNK - THF/MNK - THF/WAR - RDM/WHM - BLM/WHM
Ja, we had a BLM who had to heal more than nuke. Ay yai yai.

I'm almost at 71 now (@14.5k), but I doubt I'll get it this week-end.
On a side-note, my friend Zanji invited me to a trip in ... Dynamis-Bastok. We're to go this Sunday. This will be interesting yet extremely dangerous, to say the least.
I'll send you the zip to your e-mail once I'm back in Sherbrooke.

Well Typo, I'm glad to see that, yet again, you are dableing in the world of taru-melee. I support that 150%. A little known fact is that I was a blm and a whm before I opened up drk as a total joke and loved it. After that, I was addicted to melee. So after drk to 60 I took pld to mid 40s before leaving ffxi. I hope you enjoy melee as much as I did Typo... oh and /em pulls Typo's tail. Peace.

And Evaddaragon, although I don't think I knew you in game, Congrats on {sky}!!

The other day I deleted him and since this is the 2nd occurance of this I can never get him back so yeah, if I ever do come back which isn'taru likely I will be a whole new person <(@.@)> But I'm glad your having fun with your new job(s). Well, I got into such a good party that I actually got 71.
However, unless I get some buffer ( I'm only 500 or so into the level ) this afternoon, you can rest assured I'll lose it this evening, unless Dynamis-Bastok gets canned.
I also went and got the Sapara of Trials, to start the Savage Blade quest. Getting the latent effect to disappear isn't hard, but time consuming. Getting to and killing the NM however will be a pain. *Sigh*
Hello Kitty ! I see you're enjoying sky. ^^

I don't particularly like the look of PLing, or rather how it looks to be in a team with a PL or two at your side. It feel kinda like being babysat in a condescending sorta way, and of course since PLs automatically relieve any PT of many responsibilitaruties, people (cough: newbies) start to get sloppy and develop certain bad/annoying habitarus. On the flippy side, quicker exp due to PLing makes Typo a happytaru, and for people like Typo (ahem: veterans!) who have already gone through the ranks the hard (read: proper) way, you could say there's nothing wrong with us being PLed, as we're less-likely taru develop long-term deficiencies in our tactics as a result. Nyeh, I dunno, I just worry about the state of todey's generation as they go along thinking they're so good, and all the while the hard work ish being eliminated or them...
But all that being said, PLing RDMs babysat a team I was in for 3 entire levels last night, boosting Typo from 28-31 in a few short hours, and it felt great.

The mandragora eats a Typo-flavoured Fragmentation

Now that I'm living in the front-lines, ish alot easier taru recognize the jump in enemy difficulty that occurs at different stages as we progress in levels. As a mage you keep away and mutter obscenities under your breath as your spells get resisted, and curse the melee for being so blind that they probably couldn'taru hit the broad side of Jeuno with their sharpsies. TypoWAR wields a Neckchopper (ACC+5), wears Royal Squire's Mufflers (Accuracy+2), 2Balance Rings (Dex+4), Centurion's Visor (Dex+1), Spike Necklace (Dex+3) and Leaping Boots (Dex+3) - for accuracy purposes, you can't really get much bettaru than that at 32-, but enemies only become "easy" to hit when they're IT on the brink (not the Engrish meaning) of becoming VT and under. An intarusting lesson learned for Typo, and only makes me even more happy taru have all this money. >.> Still can't get a Peacock Charm, but I can live without that particular luxury item.
Nicotaru~! Typo will proudly follow in your footsteppies as the next great tarumelee~!
Kristaru~! Typo try taru contact Pirotess and shamelessly plug me journal, for your sake of course! ;3 ;o
Kitty~! Typo not see mama anywhere for a while, but I'm sure she ish still around, and not gone off to some far-away place >.> Not let the evil robots from {sky} eat your prettyface, Gorgeous.. Stay away from the ones in the walls, and remember taru take plenty of silent oils for every trip. Typo so proud of you, kittycat~! *snugs* ^.^/

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=8270
It'd be intereating taru see how this would work if Typo were to use it while tanking, and not for the MP of course, but for the 20 extra HP it'd grant me, plus a further 20 from me Earring. I'd prefer a big chunk of HP over a small amount of defense, but in this case I'd be losing 1 DEX point, so I dunno. ;o
Anywhoo, ta-taru for nau~! Be good, kiddies.

How did it go ? WE WON !!! Woot !
*Is now a Dynamis-Bastok Interloper*
Only one Valor Coronet dropped, and Kenjis won the lot. Oh well.
Also, I went down to level 70. Died twice. First time saving Zanji (75 PLD) from a MNK Quadav that used Hundred Fists on me. Second time we were all wiped out by the Boss and its minions, and had to swallow a Raise I. Now at 1.1k tnl. But it was well worth the price. Had some of us not accepted a Raise I, we would have ran out of time and never would have won on the second try.
Anyway, tomorrow is Riverne Site-A01, so getting 71 back will wait one more day.
Hey, if you think that the Savage Blade NM isn't all that bad, I'll try and remember to invite you to help me once I'm done removing the latent effect of the Sapara of Trials. I'm about 1/3 done I'd say.

Well Typotaru, if Banihead may offer some advice. I somewhat recently brought my Warrior up to 37, pretty much tanking the whole way. War/Nin is very nice for that, but perhaps not so great against mandies. Taru RSE gear is insane for Warrior, the +str is better than any +dex equip in my opinion. The best thing you can do till 40 for Weapon Acc is keep your skill capped for each weapon, which i found rather difficult to do at times. Once you get out of the jungle, you might want to start eating defense food when you tank because you can get hit for 70-80 + :/ but I was 37 with almost 600 HP so its not that bad. And Peacock charm is way overrated I used one from 33- on and it didn't really make a big difference, Spike necklace was much better. If you want, BaniBLM is lvl 38. I'm pretty bad, at least I was in my last pt, I attacked a caveberry twice ;; but it's been a long time since i've XPed there. I'm tyring to get my NIN up to 37 as well, it's 19ish so i'd love to party with teh typotaru ^^/
Dontcha just hate it when you join a PT, only for it taru disband a few minutes later? Went to Qufim and soloed me way on wormies to 33. {Fun} -.-

The HP and STR gains on taru RSE always did look appealing to me, but lack of defense worries me at the same time. Typo give the full set a shot if I still get hit too hard and need more HP taru compensate. As of now, I carry 2 sets of gear to be able taru cover DD and tanking performance when needed: STR+DEX/ACC gear for the former, HQ Eisenset mixed with pieces of RSE for tanking, a blend of HP and VIT.
Todey in Altepa, Beetles were enjoying batting Typo around for 50-70-somethings, and it wasn't fun. Fishkabobs definitaruly helped after me mithkabob effect wore off, so I have a couple stacks of both mithkies and fishkies on me nau.
BaniBLM hit Caveberry too? Huh, Typo too, waaay back in the day. Maybe your head was in the way then too >.> Maybe we PT sometime when I go back to MNK~! /nod

Clink! "The Typo finally hits something! Typo barely scratches the Borer Beetle for kiddy damage!"
And this not help very much with hate manage... Typo used to be able to rely on damage mostly to keep hate - Provoke, Berserk, and other enmity-grabbing JAs are just the bare skeleton of what it ish taru be a WAR/MNK tank. For that reason it was tough from the time I stepped into Garlaige Citadel, difficult for me taru be consistant each battle, and hard taru feel confident in meself. I realized at one point that a DRG in one of me PTs was constantaruly owning my damage, and hardly ever missed. "X3 I've never been one to condemn DRG...at least, not since I PTed with a few above BLM 60 and learned just how neat they can be to have around, but this just surprised Typo.
What helped to alleviate the problem, even more than the Venerer/Archer Rings I tried on, was gaining a level or two and capping gaxe for that level. At this point, it seems that no amount of accuracy/dex gear will really help you that much x.x;; Banihead was right...guess there really ish something up there in that bigBanibubble! ^.^/
Speaking of Bani, she did break into Typohouse (
) in Crawler's Nest, and demanded we PT, and so we had fun making silly Reverberation SCs and Banibursting Water II! ^.^ It was fun~ X3
Crawlers and Beetles never posed a problem to Typo, as I started me run in CN as WAR from 35 or 36, and could take damage pretty well with fishkies in use, 2 Verve Rings and full RSE, giving Typo more HP than any normal WAR out there. :3
Unfortunately for Typo, my poor connection (ghetto ADSL) gets stupid lag at some point every night, and that of course negatively affects my performance. It lasts for several hours (usually from 6PM - midnight -.-) and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. You don't want to be a tank when you're lagging badly, people! Yet, it happens during my personal prime time, so I'm stuck playing all laggy-like. ; ; This problem started about 3 weeks ago., and my ISP declares it's not a problem with them. -.- At least no tragedies have occurred as a result, but I do have less control over things when this happens. -.-
Anyweys, TypoWAR from 20-40 in 7 days~^.^
Vana'diel, I have set a satisfactory damage record (

Nice work, Kitty. I'm still at 71, but that's because of a few reasons, as I already said before, leveling has been put to a halt because I'm helping some LS members with Promyvions, doing Dynamis, and trying to get Savage Blade. Plus I really need to raise some funds for my Koenig Shield and Rosenbogen. Adaman can wait, although if I ever get my hands of enough gil to afford it, I will most likely get it.
I'm hoping I'll get my Valor Leggings in Dynamis-Windurst this Sunday, that would be a nice gift considering I had to give up on the key item in Dynamis-Jeuno last Sunday, sacrificing myself for 61 other players, most of them not even giving as much as a crap for it. ; ; I really think that action alone would make me worthy of getting them, but I'm not in charge of the Dynamis LS, so ...

Allo~! Computer problems aside, and obsessive MNK leveling put on hold for the next...couple hours ?:3 Keke, Typo has found the time taru update again!
Hau, Mamacat! So good taru see you're still here~^^ Mehopes you can find a means of steady income to fund your catmage needs.. The economy nowadays ish so harsh on lower-mid level adventurers who just want to be able to afford decent equips, Typo sometimes wonder how people make it through. x.x But I know you can make it work, keep trying! *Typocuddle~^^*
Gorgiecat, I so happy taru hear of your successful run to 75! Typo know you work long and hard for it! All those late nights of Bibiki Bay raiding, and all the trouble you went through with Vouivre have all paid off~ Ish all behind you nau, and so you can concentrate on maximizing your potential by taking your job taru another level with merit points~! Congratarulation, the fun ish just beginning~! *huggles ^^*
Speaking of turning 75, alot of me friends at this level have been making new job changes that were unexpected, to say the least. Mages going melee, melee turning mage, people playing jobs which they once couldn't stand to see. x.x Typo meself shocked the world by converting to MNK, of all things, from BLM. "X3 Seeing Evad as anything but a PLD would be odd at the very least, but a little mixing it up ish always a good thing! So, what makes DRG so appealing taru you, Dave ?:3
As for me own new job, well, not so new anymore "X3, Typo attained level 43 last night in West Altepa, and ish still having the most fun I've had in a long time just MNKing things up~! However, it seems like the MNK curse ish preparing taru settle in, as invites become progressively slower and slower for each level Typo get. ._. I haven't yet experienced waiting hours for a PT, but until recently I'd get invites just as quickly as I did as a BLM~
Wanna make sure Typo's equipment list (
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/profile.xml?83732) ish always up-to-date and above average. I can afford it, so I want those over-the-top-priced items, even if they alone don't make a huge impact on me performance. I'll buy sole sushi even though it only last 30 mins and cost 32k/stack. Since switching from meaties to fishies, I've been regularly making 100TP, soloing WS, and then making at least 60% back again before the end of each battle. Ish such a godsend of a meal, although some say it's not worth it until 50+...I dunno. :3 The downside is that I lose the ATK+ from the mithkies, and so the numbers I hit are more random than usual. Need to balance out somehow, but I do want taru focus more on STR now that me accuracy issues are slim to none.
Experienced Monks have their own views on the sort of equipment they consider "optimal" in the mid-high range of 50-75, but two such views stand out from the rest. Some go STR rings (Puissance +3 STR each, ~80k each), Life Belt (+10 ACC, ~100k) and sushi, while others opt for Sniper's (+5 ACC each, ~600k each), Brown Belt (+5 STR, 8% Haste, ~700k), and meaty food, the former combination being far cheaper than the latter. Right now I'm thinking of taking the latter route at 50+.
I hear ATK ish still nifty at higher levels, but becomes less important at that stage, as MNKs need as much STR and ACC taru be able to smash in those crab shells, and trump the evasion levels of Toramas and such. But maybe I will strike a better balance with things like Coeurl Sautee and Yellow Curry giving me that 20% ATK, while accuracy ish kept in check with Sniper's and AF body (
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=2285). It'll cost millions, and require that I spend a few days in me volcano, especially considering I feel I must have those Cross-Counters at 50, but I think I'm soon due a break from leveling anyway, so I won't mind the change of pace as I rake in some gil for about a week or so. :3 Typo will say that Spartan Cesti (
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=2428) impress me more than the 'Counters for the damage and delay, but you know me by now... Once I have me mind set on something...
So, I've sold me Emperor Hairpin in favour of the +1 STR from the Mrc. Cpt. Headgear, want to get back me Wonder Clomps because +2 STR > +4 ATK on the Kyahan. *exhales* It still feels a little odd taru be talking about strength and accuracy, instead of intelligence and elemental skill. ^^;;
Typo have so many piccies I wanna show off, so make yourselves comfy here, or go to Typogallery (

DRG, despite it's reputation in the game, has always been my second choice.
I became a PLD because of Cecil Harvey, my first FF's Hero. And ever since I've always like Paladins.
If I'm not going for DRG, it's either SAM or WAR. But as I said, before I do that, I'll most likely bring PLD to its full potential with Merit Points. I just plain love the job, I'm STILL not fed up with it. ^^

I also hope to have Sky soon. Mama usually on a few hours every night right now.
Don't really do much since I'm burnt out at the moment again. X_x Last night, an LS I belong to decided to hunt for Emp. I snagged it and got the drop, but moggie not happy with me. :(
Generally, whenever Typo ish close to reaching a personal goal, something always interceptaru me momentum and bring me to standstill. If it wasn't my internet connection, which, incidentally prevented me from helping Evad with his WSNM today, it would be a genuine lack of all forms of tanks, healers, and support jobs at me level range, making it impossible taru make PT. Most PTs are generally just bad, too - I not go into detail. >.<
And still I continue enjoying what I do, as long as I'm in action punching me way to victoly, rather than standing idle in Jeuno with me flag up. I turned 50 MNK todey, thus beginning the long, hard crawl to the wonderful world of 60+.
Typo know the 50's will be tough, with AF to do and the ever-increasing challenge of even getting into a PT until 60.
For those who may be wondering why MNK have such a hard time at this stage:
1. We can't make Distortion SC. We just can't, until Howling Fist at level 60, and ish well-known by now how popular this SC is at higher levels. The best we can do ish Impaction, methinks, which isn't a very impressive alternative...
Nyeh, depends on the PT setup and enemy (crabs, haha).
2. Armoured enemies: beetles and crabs. These mobbies dominate the exp tables from 45-60, and we MNKs have problems getting through their shells with our fisties. Boo for blunts. >.>
So that's what Typo ish faced with - convincing people that I'm good enough taru have again and again and again until 60. Heh...I'll do it somehow, because Typo refuse taru get stuck like so many others before me.
I will find a way~.

Don't worry about my WSNM. It still went smoothly, so no worries. First thing I did after getting Savage Blade was farming an eye for Jago's optical hat. My first Light SC did 500+750 ^^
Don't worry about your MNK AF, either. Just in case that you forgot, you only need to be MNK to TRIGGER the quests, and to OPEN COFFERS. That means you can fight NMs and farm for keys with your BLM. It's a joke, isn't it ? ^^
I can understand where you're coming from with the MNK problems, one of my LS buddies, Egros, is a MNK himself, and he had a hell of problems leveling between 50 and 60. Now it's getting slightly better, and will be fine after he gets Dragon Kick.

That's exactly the plan for AF, and I shouldn't have problems finding assistance for those long, boring key hunts.

Welcome to {sky}, Dhalmel! Enjoy it while ya can. ;3 Good luck taru you, kitty, and thankies again for helping Typo get behind Gate #3 in Garlaige, twas very gracious of you~! *huggles*
Many thanks also taru Jojojo, Heitai, Grumm, Sukiteki, and Deejay who've all be a great help with coffers, and of course, DS. ;3
So, Typo has decided to slow down. This particular slow down ish not the kind that the..."common monk" is forced to go through in the 50's. Aside from the elusive Spartan Cesti that are never in stock at the AH, Typo have all the noteworthy essentials:
TM Hooks, Sniper's x2, AF Gloves/Boots/Crown, Master's Gi, Master's Sitabaki, Spike Earrings, Brown/Life Belt
Recently, Typo PT with humunk and munkat, and although I went toe-to-toe with them on regular punch damage, they would sometimes best me on Raging Fists damage by a healthy amount. There are so many factarus to consider that include, but not limit taru: TypoSTR versus mobVIT, buffs the enemy may have had on, and debuffs on Typo and the other MNKs... Their base STR and VIT will have been a few points above mine, a problem I think Typo can alleviate by eating meatyfood for STR and ATK, instead of sushi for STR and ACC...
Using Chiefkabobs (and soon Coeurl Sautee) will hurt me accuracy much, even with all me gear, though that may be balanced out by the presence of let's say... Scorpion Harness and/or Spectacles on me person ?:3
I am thinking of making some money...lots of money, seeing as that's the only way Typo ever get taru wear the big red.. Ish a prospect I'm willing taru explore, as I'm no stranger to spending weeks in that volcano of mine to get whatever it is I want. ":3 Hmm, take a break at level 60 maybe...
So, 6.5mil, anyone? And could Typo possibly be lucky enough taru (a) find a willing few to do BC60 with Typo for the spectacles, and (b) actually get me preferred drop with enough seals for 3 runs ?:3
Stay tuuuuuuuned~

I have 63 beastmen's seals. If you need a PLD, I'm in. All I need is a shield to have compatible gear, really. So I'd guess a RK or TK Shield will do.

Ooh that ish good to know ^.^ Typo have 198 seals, allowing me to do this (

Yeah, I'll be honest with you. I won't mind if you keep the Specs if it's one of YOUR orbs, considering you'd be putting the group together and all, but don't expect me to let a 4 million item go for free if it would drop from mine. As much as I'd like to help you, I'm also in need of money for items I can't afford myself... ; ;
Either way, as long as you're planning that BCNM next Tuesday at the earliest, I can make myself available. As I said, I can use my AF, Knightly Mantle, Happy Egg, 2 Drone Earrings and Chrysoberyl Rings that I already have, plus Dragvandil ( Which actually drops from that BCNM, what a coincidence. ) and Warrior's Belt +1 I have on my mule. All I need is a shield and I'm set, really.
*Reminds himself he may not have any jobs besides Paladin over 40, but that he has sets for PLD at level 30,40 and 60, and could easily invest about 200-300k for a basic level 50 set.*
Hmmm. Yeah, thank CoP for THAT. :p

Hmmmm... oranges... I mean, grats Typo ! ^^
Well, I just got 72, I think my Dynamis LS is falling apart, and I'll attempt Rank 10 tomorrow evening. Oh yeah, I bought a TK shield. Just drop a line when you're doing BCNM60. :p
You're probably finished by nau, so congratarulation in advance on Rank 10, Dave~! Typo admit, I was more confused than anything in 9-1's charming slime battle, but it still went relatively smoothly after all. ^.^ Some day I'll push for R10, but it not a priority at the moment.
And speaking of priorities, I have 2 battles coming up that I'll need help for. The first should not be too difficult - this will be the fight with Huu Xalmo the Savage (
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/bestiary.html?fmob=1512) in the upper level of Castle O, for me final piece of AF! Typo would like taru put together a full party for this, even though I've been told that won't be necessary... Better safe than sorry.
Next, wanna do 1-3 BC60 runs unsing my own seals, and hopefully grab a pair of spectacles at least once. I know I have Evad's help here, but I haven't asked anyone else yet. I'll see what everyone's schedules are like over the weekend~

Evad D'Aragon's title : Hero among Heroes.
Rank 10. The highest rank.
Bastokan Flag. A beautiful Bastokan flag that dons the wall of my Mog House.
Mogenhancement : Bastokan Conquest. Gives me more Conquest points now.
Republic Signet Staff. Bought it for 5k. Listed under common items, but only available for Rank 10s.
I got all of those as new privileges for my newly achieved status. ^^
Thanks again to NE for their help. Jago, Kinsen, Fatimah, Lilmongrel, Maxemus, Garet and Riddley all thank each and everyone of you. Thanks goes to Lacasteoubliee as well, who also helped us with 9-1. ^^
After that, I went to Jeuno, heading to Eldieme Necropolis, while I bumped into the Chocobo Knights. Apparently, they were raiding the Necropolis to get 2 Tavnazian Bells and one Papyrus. I tagged along. We got the Papyrus, one Bell, and Moggie's coffer key. I also found my ??? to complete my quest. Unfortunately, we couldn't get to his coffer in time. ; ;
I'll be questin for Teleport-Mea and Warp II tomorrow, all that money, combined with my current funds, will be used to get a Titanis Earring and Mercenary's Earring. That will set me back 600k. ; ;
I did that MNK AF NM for Egros already, it's no biggie. If I'm online when you have to go, I'll be more than happy to help you.
I also have enough seals to try the BCNM one more time. As I told you, I have level 60 ready gear for my PLD. In fact, I now have level 30, 40, 50 AND 60 ready gear for my PLD. ^^

Haloo~ Justaru saying Hiyas, I miss you all so much <(-_-;;)>
I just read about the "welcome back" eventaru thingy and I'm not sure but if i'm eligable I will get Kristaru back^^; its not until June though I thinkies. So anyways, I'm glad your having fun with MNK Typo and I justaru wanted you know I still think about all you guys and I hope the same is true for you too^^ Bai Bai for nows.
Yesterday Typo was fortunate enough taru put together what turned out to be the single -best- party I've participated in as a MNK.
Our original formation was pld/mnk/war/blm/blm/rdm. By now I've memorized the majority of the SC chart, but somehow still managed to think that Rampage could be followed by Raging Fists to make Fusion... I was thinking Spinning Axe. X3 Well, much to the chagrin of the WAR/NIN, that ish what we ended up doing, and to our surprise it came off alot better than we expected!
Things were going well until we attempted to take on a Peryton (

) (piccy from different PT, but that's the offending bird subject in the
flesh feathers)... twice, a mistake which cost us alot of downtime in our first hour. Our PLD and RDM joined the PT on limited time, and soon had to leave.. Ish always the most crucial jobs, isn't it ?.-. The WAR/NIN agreed to take over tanking, allowing Typo to grab a WHM in place of the PLD, and a BRD to replace the RDM, and from there, we went on to make 24,000 exp in the next 6 hours. X3

Howling Fist!</center>
Raging Fists (
), Typo shall miss you, but we had some good times...good times together. Hellu {Distortion}~!^.^ From now on, uppercutting enemies in the neck (
) will never be the same~! The road to 75 should be much smoother, but with the people we have floating around our exp playgrounds these days, ya never know... At least things will be quicker (though most likely minutely) with the new exp update.
Anywey! Level 60 achieved, and I'm very happy right now, even though ddos attacks on pol are keeping half the world from waking up! Admittedly I have burned myself out and am tired of leveling, and that's exactly why I'm so enthusiastic about spending 3-4 weeks in me volcano for money and shiny thing~ After this I probably won't need any more cash for a very long time.
*slips into something more comfy* Ah, been a long time since I put on me field clothes! I've had all the money a taruMNK could possibly need for several months nau, but my (greedy?) ambition has kicked in again, and Typo ish in want of more more. I plan to feed myself with a Scorpion Harness, Victory Rings, Amemit +1, and brand new MND and VIT gear for chi blast/WS damage. :3
adaman ore/80-90k orichalcum ore/160-170k
Back when adamans were 50k, I could make 300k daily ("daily" would be 6-8 hours of digging). Excuse me for feeling all tingly when I think of mining now... I've never been one to fret over competition...Typo has run gilsellers out of there before simply because I can play their dirty games better than them. .-.
Gilsellers are the final boss for any aspiring millionaire. Defeat them, defeat poverty! Let's hope the whole world hasn't caught on yet. ;3
I'm planning me BC60 runs for Friday of this week. Evad and Derufin will be with me so far, and perhaps if me can get another BLM (you know, a current full-time BLM with proper gear and enfeebling, unlike Typo X3), I can attend as MNK. Perhaps we do AF on the same day?
(*'-')
The Return of Kristaru: Part5 ?;3
You get a free month with that too, right? If so, it sounds good to me! *huggles*^.^

That combo sounds great as well.

Now after Wednesday's debacle, not being able to get online, and the absence of pretty much everyone I had in mind to gather even as I type, I'm going to have to postpone the BC60, as it'll be rude of me to ask on such short notice.

Wow Typo! That looks awesome! And to think we were just talking about how ugly BLM AF is... Congrats on your Shades, and any time you need a BLM I know where you can find one. As for recent events in Vanad'iel for Deru, NE has aligned with a God/Dynamis LS. I got my AF2 pants on the very first trip, and killed Genbu for the first time yesterday. (We also died to Byakko yesterday as well, but that just isn't as glamorous.) I can see why you guys were never impressed with Gods, because, I'm not at all either. Your lotting luck was as bad as Typo's at that time...poor ya. ^^ Ah well, you still have the dino costume taru look forward to! Gogo!
Todey's dig: 765,500. I didn't time it, but it wasn't as long as yesterday. Typo had a theory about how to make max profit from doing the dig. Of course I won't state it out front, but let's just say that unlike what I used to do months ago, you really don't have to spend all day in there to line your pockets with blue and gold.
There's luck in mining, ja, but also much consistency involved in what you get, and when.
Speaking of mining, Typo make new friend (

)! Actarully, this supposed new gilseller-type person (level 36 whm, rank 1, Chinese/JP, mines 24/7, is rude and steals MPs whenever he can) just doesn'taru go away. Since last week when I returned to me volcano, that little cockroach has been hanging around the entire time. He sees Typo, he follows Typo, he annoys Typo. I did once get the better of him by leading him out to Vouivre and making him get eaten. I picked up that he didn't know the place like I do, and let him follow me to that area before changing equip so he could no longer track me. What a scholar.
He has a friend (

) of his own who let me know just how much he love me too~!
I'd like to think that people like this really DO play this game to sell gil and feed their families in their poor little run-down back-water 3rd world village, as I would take much pleasure in seeing to it that they starve.
*brushes his hair back* No matter. After tonight's sales, I will be 2.5m from SH. Typo want a pair of victory rings (1.4), Typo want me Ochiudo's Kote back (1.5), and an Amemit Mantle +1 (1.6), and what Typo want, Typo get.
Hmph!
Evad D'Aragon

Gil-sellers are the main reason I despise mining now. I've found a better way to earn about 10k more per hour anyway, now.
I farm elementals in... Behemoth's Dominion. :p Lightning and Light Clusters sell much faster, and I earn 15-40k per hour, depending on weather and cluster prices, without breaking a sweat. Nobody ever goes there, so I'm all alone. No annoying mining point stealer, no expenses to do ( no pickaxes, no crystals for synthesizing, etc. ) and clusters sell faster than ores. I guess I've got a winner for soloing fund-raising now. Last time I spent four hours and made 65k, and that was with extremely good weather compared to usual and Lightning Clusters prices going down to 2k, so elementals were sparce. Otherwise I probably would've made 100k.
Oh, sure, it still doesn't beat your volcano, but trust me, it beats Gusgen Mines and Oldton Movalpolos hands down.
But even that didn't make me afford my Adaman. Skill-up/exping/farming Million Eyes and Doom Toads in Den of Rancor did lol It's a quite dangerous place, with no real safe camp, so nobody ever goes there. We have to constantly sleep linking Tonberries and Eyes, but it's nothing we can't handle.
They drop Wooden Hakutaku Eyes, which we sell for 245k a piece with Jago's mule, Tania, over her bazaar, and scrolls of Flare, which sell for 300k. We usually go in a small group of four, Jago, Laure, me and someone else, so everything goes smoothly. Eyes don't like our Hexa Strike-Swift Blade-Tachi:Gekko combo ^^ And the surrounding Tonberries and Doom Toads don't like our Swift Blade-Black Halo-Tachi:Kasha or Savage Blade-Tachi:Kasha combos either. ;) That's how I could afford Adaman, over about 2 weeks. ^^ And we didn't go every evening, too. Not only that, but because most of them are T or VT at our level, we made about 1.5k-2k exp per hour, all the while skilling up. Healing is capped, and shield is one level from cap. ^^

Gratz on the specs! I had been dying to try that BCNM60 forever. I'll harass you in game for some strategies ^^
Good to hear you're making good progress on the SH fund. Unlike specs, the SH is something I gave up on completely. The only way I would ever go for one now would be if pallas hit 8 mil gil (like they are doing on some servers) and I would then downgrade to kote + SH ^^
And Evad! I don't want to sound like a mooch, but if you are doing another wooden eye farming run, would it be possible for m to tag along with my 70 mnk? I won't be going in any XP parties until I get an O-hat, so I'll be toiling away on either getting gil for a wooden eye, or preferably farming it personally ^^.
Sadly I think I'll be able to log maybe a total of 4 evenings in FFXI for the month of May ; ;

Gee, there really ish not much to talk about when you're a hermit minertaru all holed up in your old dusty volcano money-box, wondering when the next good dig will come your way and boost you towards your goal...
Typo not like to multitask very often. I'm a firm believer in doing one thing at a time, putting all me focus and energy into what I'm doing, and being the best I can be. While I make exceptions in certain situations, you are more likely taru see me stick to one job over a period of months, for example, as opposed to more frequent job-hopping which more people seem to do. In this case, I have devoted meself entirely taru mining in order to make my millions as fast as possible~.
Sadly, much like the fishing binge of last year, Ifrit's Cauldron has become much more of a chore as of late, especially with Magicl (
), weirdo#1 (
) running around, and countless other obstacles in and out of the world of Vana'diel that have suddenly homed in on me.
There is some kind of curse looming over me - an anomaly of bad luck that is hampering my progress with such relentless persistance that it surpasses coincidence and borderlines the supernatural. From rewards seemingly becoming more rare with each passing day, to inexplicably strange connection issues in general, to extraodrinary lag spikes and "convenient" R0's which ONLY occur in the presence of bats (getting disconnected next to sound aggro means guaranteed problems on your return, yet sight-detecting enemies don't pick up on you immediately as you login, and you can /ma Invisible or /item "Prism Powder" before they do), this phenomenon has put Typo a whole 4 days behind his Scorpion Harness schedule! Add to this that I've been trying to find ways taru maximize me time in that volcano, testing new methods and routes every day, timing myself to check for consistencies and patterns and such, but the only thing that ish clear to me from all of this is that luck is still THE major player in mining.
When you can make 1,000,000 on Monday, but only 300,000 on Tuesday (for example) in the same amount of hours, you know luck's a rebel~. It sometimes seems like my results mirror my confidence-level, as one good day makes me believe that everyday ish a million day, but all it takes is one bad day to send me spiraling into oblivion, wondering if Typo will ever see another blue or golden shiney ever again. Since when did mining become so dramatic ?.-.
So, a little cranky, very sleepy, but somewhere deep down inside grateful that
I can even say this, barring further inflation, SH will belong to Typo in another 700k. I will post up a list of exactly what it is I'm after, but I want exact prices first. It shouldn't take any longer than another week, but with my luck I'll be forced to give up right after I don me big red. ":3

Thornn the cat ish huge Mr.T fan!
The video itself is like all the WM Trailers put together in terms of entertainment value, and I'm glad for Cena that he's come this far, even though I can't stand his now stale "goody-two-shoes" persona, and the fact that the more popular he gets, the more ability he seems to lose in the ring. RL before game and all that, yet the job won't allow you to enjoy FFXI as much as say...I will, with all the time in the world, hehe. Good luck to you and how you manage your time. ^^
lmao i had told a friend that u made 1 mill in like 8 hours he said well i bet he wont do it again thats sh*t luck lol >> i disagreed but now to see u getting less i am unsure
i also heard there is some sort or skill ups that are unseen for mining , logging , harvesting and stuff is that true? Typo admit, I thought my earnings would be alot more consistant after switching to the +1 mining gear (the Worker's set), and using me new "technique", but alas, I was sorely mistaken. :/ At least I can still make 300k+ on my slow days. :3 Although it still gets frustrating at times, things definitely are better now than they were before. ;3
And as far as me know, there are no "skills" or skill ups available for HELM activities. There have been rumours circulating the populous, but nothing that has been confirmed.
I think alot of people, myself included, would like to think that there's more to mining than is presented to us up front, but it's hard to keep such a belief when there are no real solid theories to go by, even 3 years after the game's release. Oh well~.-.
Oh, and in case anyone's wondering, Typo will be absent until after tomorrow's maintenance. I've had it up to here *struggles to get his little hand up above his big silver head* with server lag. -.-

Well, Typo, looks like your digging's finally over.
Now maybe you can get to "work" with my "little request" while I'm on break from FFXI ? lol
Yeah, besides for my scheduled Dynamis run on Sunday I'm taking a break from FFXI until next Thursday ( not this week, the next one :p ) . I've got exams at the Bar to retake, plus a thing or two to do outside of FFXI.
Like this evening I had a great supper at the restaurant with my two of my long-time pals I hadn't seen in months because I was out in Sherbrooke doing the bar, and one in Montreal finishing his Bachelor's, and the other busy with his work and troupe ( He's getting into show-business, and slowly getting is troupe know across our area. ). And I plan on visiting my grandpa once or twice during the next week. His lung cancer has gotten worse... I'm pretty sure it's only a matter of months now, not years... ; ;
Either way, I hope you won't forget about me once you're done with your digging. ^^
Say hi to NE for me. ^^

Sneak-poster! >O The dig ish far from over, and ideally I'd rack up another 5.2mil before I cease... After this, I should very well never have to make money for any job or other reason again! >O That's me main motivation to keep on going. And not to worry, while you're doing your busy-busys, I'll sneak in your request somewhere. ;3
I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, and even though my words won't change things, I wish him all the best. Take care, Dave~!
Typo like being Orange, but Red ish so much nicer!
Red @100k???

</center>
Ish still the ugliest thing Typo has ever seen in me life, but I love it to pieces anyway~ I am itching taru put me spectacles, and now my BIG RED to good use, and so before any more mining happens, I shall do just that !:x *frolics around happily~*

6.7 millions... sweet Jesus.
That harness alone is worth more than my whole gear, which is about a "mere" 4.5 millions :p
Speaking of colors, have you forgotten about the BIG PURPLE MACHINE ? I still want my new siggy, pretty please. ; ;
Although since I've now seen the value of Adaman in Dynamis ( not that big a difference, but it helps a bit, although every piece of Adaman will be replaced by AF2, should I ever gain some ; ; ), I sold back the Pigeon Earrings and got the Barbuta back. :p So if you started working on it, please put Evad in full Adaman, with the rest just like I asked. ^^
EDIT : As promised, Typo, here are the photos I took of you.
First, with his trademark "Fungus Hat-look-alike", which gave birth to his journal :
Missing his former orange self, Typo managed to recover half of his "former glory" while retaining his current self :
And then finally, he came back to reason, going for the best of both worlds :
I'm sorry, but all I have is the crappy SE-PS2 model cam, Typo. ^^
Piccies! X3 Guu...what was Typo doing in that first one ?:x
Anyway, that ish actarully the original Fungus Hatty, the same very one I've had since the beginning. ^^ Won't have me Optical Hat until 70, keke.
Good thing I didn't start your siggy yet, or else I'd have to go into model viewer all over again! Since I'm giving mining a break for the next few days, I'll finish your siggy sometime in between. ^^ Congrats taru both of us for changing colour!!!

Yesterday, we were supposed to go to Dynamis-Jeuno, but MK arrived there before us, and since KoN was already in Dynamis-San d'Oria, we headed to Bastok.
We reached the final boss, but a bad pull cost us victory...
However, I already have the key item for Dynamis-Bastok.
It may have been the presence of 2 Thieves and the Full Moon, but many AFs dropped this time, including TWO of these :
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=5019
And... I LOTTED 939 ON THE FIRST ONE !!! ^^
Therefore, I'm now the proud owner of a Valor Coronet. ^^ And the first one in Lacasteoubliee to have a piece of AF2. Woot !
Big Red makes Typo happy just by looking at it, but really, it's just one piece of an experiment I've been planning since the mid-50's. I not remember if I explained this before, so I will lay it out here now. Something about Sole Sushi just doesn't agree with me. I mean, Typo like seafood (*'-'), but lacking in atk ish what gives me the queasy stomach feeling at the end of the day.
Taru's lower str stat compared to other races doesn't hamper their performance much as it relates to mnk, and in fact, the only noteworthy difference will come from ws damage, as str and vit, two of our weakest stats are the big damage modifiers for mnk weapon skills. To make up for that minor weakness, I want to be able to load up on acc (SH, specs, sniper's, life belt) and atk (kote, earrings, amemit+1, eat mithkies for +22%) while building tp, and swap in str and vit gear for use in ws only.
The problem is that Toramas aren't your average enemy on their feet, sporting unreasonable evasion that makes it tough to feel useful without the aid of sushi. Since Big Red I've had one single exp party, and my partner dd for most of its duration was war/nin. He'd have around 170 or so tp by the time Typo hit 100. Popped a sushi afterwards, and the problem was instantly corrected. Thanks to the fishy food, I've become used to accumulating tp faster than anyone, excluding ranger of course, but on Processionaires and beyond I'm pretty sure I can eat miths, maintain an above-average hit-rate, and enjoy much more consistant punch damage to put the icing on the cake~
Now I've spent so much time in the dark, that silly volcano, that I'm not sure I have it in me to spend another 3-4 days in there for an amemit +1. Honestly, I'm more likely taru just buy a nq amemit and level to 64 or so, head to Boyahda and see how I do.
Each money-making time-out I take tends to either put things into perspective for me, or just make me incredibly impatient, and I'm kinda feeling the latter right now. This taru just wants to come out fighting~!
Taking a break from mnk and leveling rng has crossed my mind many times already, and I'm almost certain that that's what Typo will do next. The only drawback would be having to first level nin as sub, and I'm not really feeling that job right nau.

Here's something you don't see everyday...</center>
Helped friends from linkyshell on Windy 6-1. Boy are Cardians stubborn. I was able taru raise guarding skill a bit though, so at least they're good for something!
Congrats to you all. :3
Q. Ish Typo still having fun?
A. We'll have to wait and see how things go in Onzozo. ":3 It was definitely fun outdamaging a rng on ws once, though! ;o (
)
Oie, Nico! Not get any ideas nau...Typo might have a tail, but I'm notacat.. .-.;;;; And Evad, many Congrats taru you! Your first AF2, it must feel great! I got your message, but decided to congratarulate here instead. :3
After a single adaman dig I couldn't take it anymore, and decided to suit up for battle again.

A timely R0. Gee, talk about getting catslapped...

61 TypoMNK (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/profile.xml?83732). If I so desire, I'm free to bully my way to 70 without having to worry about excessive hours within the black hole I sometimes call home.
Really, with mithkies Typo accuracy isn't so bad on those evilcats, but like I said before I'm used to being consistantly quick with TP, and not having those odd sets of battles full of whiff-fests.
Apparently Boyahda ish doable at this level. In fact, Littleyuuki the cat invited Typo there earlier, but her tank happened to d/c and the pt disbanded before I arrived. ; ; Tough luck, but anywey, here's hoping I get more PT invites across the Zi'tah way, and maybe I can find my niche with the help of those loveable wormy school buses we call "Crawlers"~.

Typo, you look cute in red ~
Whether you were one of the 18-hour work-a-holics, or someone who came somewhere between, it was a day of trials, discovery, and ultimataruly victory for Windurstians from all walks of life! Northern Exposure, our humble little linkyshell ish now home to a number of proud newly-crowned Rank 10's~!

</center>
For Typo it was yet another adventure, one of those rare occasions where I break away from me normal routine and apply what I've learned to something far greater than any Big Red or exp party~
Jojo had told me sometime ago that he would be planning an LS mission run soon, but little did I know yesterday would be the day~! Typo decide taru drop his MNKattack, and join in on 8-1 with our mostly-NEx alliance to fight the good fight!
Our journey took us from good ole Windy to Ro'Maeve, to Davoi, to Altepa and Quicksands - all over~ Sometimes Missions dealing with even the most dire of situations can make you feel like a common errand-runner, like back in the old days with gyshal greens and such, but knowing the bigger picture and what that entails puts things back intaru perspective...
Who would have thought that our leader, our Star Sibyl, as well as our very nation was really in such grave danger? Typo tries to stay calm and...let us say "professional" about these things, but between the return of the Shadow Lord, to the living, breathing, scheming evil brothers of a long-lost ancient race, to the sudden appearance of this Bearer of Darkness in me homeland, it sometimes makes me wonder if an adventurer's work ish ever done ?:3 Great Galloping Gigas (
)!
I had Typocam record some of the day's events, but it freaked on me and not capture properly! Fortunataruly it still remembered to take piccies as usual, so while I fix the kinks, have some snaps (http://photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/Vestal%20Chamberlain/), and if you not like spoilers, don't look, and come back next time~! ;3
Typo, you look cute in red ~
Ahm...thankie, I do, don't I~? ^.^;;

Congrats on Rank 10, Typo. The Windurst is ALMOST as beautiful as Bastok's. ALMOST. :p
Speaking of missions, I oh-so want the Knight's Earring, and Jago wants the Divine Might Earring as well. We could bring in Laurewen and Kinsen, so I think it's about time I talk with NE to organise a Divine Might event. :p
As for me, I'm level 74, 36k tnl. Level 75 is for this week, garanteed. Two days ago I won for the second time in Dynamis-San d'Oria, but no gauntlets dropped yet, all I ever saw there was one SMN AF2 legs and 2 MNK AF2 legs. It sucks that NE does Dynamis on Fridays, if it were on Wednesdays I'd love to go :p And yesterday we went to farm subligars in Phomiuna Aqueducts for the rest of my CoP team. So now I have the PLD JSE, Laure has the WHM JSE ( we both had it since a long time ago already ), William has the RDM JSE and Rock has the NIN JSE. Those will come in handy for our next missions, which are capped at 50. We couldn't find Fomors Rangers that wouldn't link with others so Jago and Backus got screwed, Backus had to content himself with the THF JSE. Rock also got the BST subligar.
Between studying for the math exams I sat last week, and dealing with yet more computer issues (which have now thankfully been resolved), it's been pretty hard to concentrate on FFXI. It's so bad that my motivation to party has been waning, and it doesn't help that I haven't had a single "good" PT since lvl60/Big Red.
When I'm on with flag up I'm usually afk, and sometimes don't bother responding to invites even if I'm there due to last-minute second thoughts. But it'd be such a shame to give up on MNK nau, being this close to the end, a 2nd lvl75 job, Asuran TypoFists (ATF ;o), and the satisfaction of doing what I set out to do in the first place - be one of those few taru taru make it to the "top" as a MNK~
While Typo can't control the competence of those around me, there should be ways I can make even the dullest of PTs seem intaruesting to me, and I've been thinking... Melikes the Scorpy Harness~ It's hideously-shaped, obnoxiously bright-red, and makes everyone in Vana'diel /check Typo just because I'm wearing it. But I'm selling it, as I don't think I really need it. :3
Last night I came taru conclusion that I just don't like me new equipment setup. Using mithkabobs for extra atk while concentrating gear on acc ish by all means a viable strat... but what if that gives you a strength deficiency? For the first time I saw myself hitting the same number over and over, like I couldn'taru get any stronger. Looking at Typocam I noticed one particular sequence:
...47...47...miss...41...36...47...28...miss...47. ..29...47
I once hit 49. :3 This was with Berserk on, fighting IT Onzozo Toramacats~. I take off me Life Belt and switch to Brown Belt for 5+ str, and lo and behold there are now 50's in the next sequence of hits, and the loss of 10 accuracy points didn't hurt anything once I tried the same with sushi in effect. Not sure why Typo not notice this before, but I wanna try something new once again.
Pallas Bracelets (+9str), O. Kote (+20atk) I would like to juggle around to see if I need both, Kotes for dot, and Pallas for WS effectiveness, or if I could sell back the Kotes and permenently keep +9 str. Amemit +1 and Creek Clomps, as they're pretty much the best items to have sitting in those slots~ At 70, Typo will set up a squad taru go get Dune Boots (
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=4125), but kick attacks don't concern me right now. They're random and usually too sparse to be worth something to me. O. Hat ish a given~
I'll be snacking on sushi full-time once again, unless Typo find the acc not too important in a particular PT.
*sigh*, I feel tired.
Oh and Dave, due to the restrictions here, I wouldn't be able to make your new sig exactly the way you wanted it without your character model being tiny. Any other suggestions? Congrats on the JSE, btw~! It's been a week, maybe you 75 by nau ?:O

Yes, I'm level 75. Since Saturday, exactly.
I haven't been all that active since though, besides a win in Dynamis-Jeuno, which is now my third Dynamis completed. All I need is Windurst to get to Beaucedine. I also got the Relic Shield, which I added to my collection, along the Relic Sword and Valor Coronet.
The reason why I haven't done a lot of other stuff is because Grandpa died Sunday, we buried in this afternoon.
Either way, I wanted to contact you about joining us on a KSNM marathon sometime this week. If I catch you in-game, I'll tell you more about it.
As for my sig... well, frankly speaking, I don't really have any other idea, plus considering that I'm removing Adaman pieces for every AF2 piece I'll eventually win ( I mean, I only need the gauntlets in Sandy and boots in Windy, then I sell Adaman. Beaucedine and Xarcabard will be prioritized in our Dynamis LS, and since I'm the Paladin that came the most often, I'm on top of the list for PLD AF2 in Beaucedine and Xarcabard lol All we need is actually getting there. :P )... I just don't know, really. lol
I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, Dave~ My sincerest condolences.
/comfort
When I can get around to it, I'll see what I can come up with for a sig. Also, Congratarulations on climbing the exp mountain to the summit! The journey's just beginning, eh? This KSNM sounds interesting, but I don't have any of those seals of me own. Will you be doing the Desert Swarm with the scorpions? That seems to be the one everyone does.

I don't know. I think I'm gonna scrap that idea. Heck, I think I'm gonna scrap ANYTHING Lacasteoubliee-related for a while.
I'm starting to REALLY have my cup filled with them.
All I answer to the question from a newbie in the LS " Is a NIN a tank ? " is " PLD hold hate better but NIN are able to take less damage " and what do I get ?
"Stop making your job look better and bashing on NINs, Evad".
WHAT THE HELL ???
FACT : Tanking is HOLDING HATE FIRST, THEN TAKING AS LITTLE HATE AS POSSIBLE.
FACT : PLD/WAR has MORE tools at his disposal to keep hate better. PLD/WAR has more tools at his disposal to protect others ( such as Cover and Invincible ) WHICH IS WHAT TANKING IS ALL ABOUT. However, some monsters simply hit too hard, so Paladins need proper healing to back them up.
FACT : NIN/WAR, when skilled, are able to take no damage at all thanks to Utsusemi, but aren't designed to hold hate as well, so it requires a different approach that requires the entire party to work together better than with a Paladin. Therefore, having a NIN is situational, while having a PLD is common.
FACT : Paladins and Ninjas CAN and SHOULD work together. Combining the Paladin's hate management and the Ninja's abitility to take no damage is a winning combination, no doubt.
THIS IS WHAT I ALWAYS SAY WHEN ASKED THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO. HOW IN THE HECK IS THIS BASHING ON NINs ???
I'm starting to have my cup filled with a few members in Lacasteoubliee.
Jago thinks he can start bashing on things I've said like 30 MINUTES AFTER I SAID THEM because that darn idiot doesn't even LOOK at what is said on time yet he thinks he can comment on them half an hour later. So he starts saying things I never said because since he hasn't looked at them properly, he thinks he can have an argument about tanking when HE ISN'T A TANK HIMSELF.
Backus thinks he can tell me that I don't know anything about Ninjas since my Ninja is level 1 so my arguments don't make sense. Well, perhaps he'd have any kind of logic, that is, if he ever leveled his Paladin beyond level 1...He's been seriously falling on my nerves recently, provocating me into arguments whenever he gets the chance. Mihmendra wanted him to be one of the sackholders with me and Jago "because he has ideas that are different than yours" yet so far all I've seen from him is provocation and personal insults towards me. Nice going from a guy who basically slows us down while doing CoP because he's the only one who never does his required cutscenes ahead.
And look who's even DARING to make a comment against me... Rockfist ! Yup, that same guy who's girlfriend ( Gentlytaruu ) is so jealous at me because apparently he spends too much time playing with me ( Which is bollocks, but hey, I guess we don't see eye to eye. ), to the point where she even sends me tells telling me I should go out with him, or that he should have given a ring to ME instead of her ( I swear I'm not kidding on this one. )... Geez, I don't know, that guy can't even keep his girl happy and off my back, so should I pay attention to his argument about how to do things ? I think not.
Then there's Ratatapa... His "NOOBellency". He keeps asking stupid questions half the time, such as " How much MP do you have as a level 75 PLD, Evad ? " LIKE IT "/$/"$/"$ MATTERS !!! Then he goes about doing something like sitting in the middle of a dozen Quadavs in Palborough Mines as a 36WHM, getting killed in the process, then black-listing me for laughing about it, calling me an arrogant Mr.Perfect bastard or what-not.
Oh, and let's not forget that because of me, the HeraclesCrusaders ( the LS from France ) thinks our whole LS are a bunch of racists and that if they ever created a common French-speaking LS, then there's no way I'd be one of the leaders, I'm WAY too troublesome, racist, elitist for that. What is it did already to get this reputation ? Ah yes, I kicked one Heracles from Lacaste for being dumb and annoying to everyone else, heck Jago was about to do it himself. Had I known better, I'd have let him become the racist bastard in my stead. Basically, do your job as a moderator, then get labeled a racist. Welcome to HeraclesCrusaders, where we base our opinion on an individual that most of us NEVER met,and that the others got helped by him when they met him, by one single action. Marvelous.
In short, this is what this LS is giving me recently for having :
1- Formed and leaded a CoP party and allowed our LS acces to Tavnazia. I even RE-did the Promyvions to allow a few others to gain access as well, and what did I get ? Flaming tells from a few members saying that I suck because I didn't take a time schedule fitting with THEIRS.
2- Helped others with keys, quests, and what-not. Strange how it is that a high-level Paladin can be useful ONLY when it's CONVENIENT for you. Yet it's way too complicated to actually use your head and buy a STACK of powders and oils instead of a SINGLE one, making me waste THREE TIMES MORE TIME THAN WHAT I SHOULD HAVE. Before you ask, yes that's what happened last time I helped someone with Rank 5. Oh, and I'm such an elitist bastard for losing patience when you : 1- Attack a different mob than the one I'm fighting, putting yourself in danger, and 2- Going AWAY when you aggro, aggroing MORE MOBS in the process, and 3- Plain not listen to what I say, and basically laugh in my face.
3- Inviting about a dozen person in my Dynamis LS. Then 90% of them don't come back, because : 1- My AF doesn't drop there, 2- I die too much... blah, blah, blah.
4- Basically taken the time to answer most of the questions I get asked when I don't even know WHY it is I get asked. Like why should you ask me if it's safe to cast Cure V in a party ? DO I LOOK LIKE A WHITE MAGE TO YOU ? Why should you ask me how to get to Dynamis when you're level 30 ? Don't you have a DOZEN OF THINGS TO DO BEFORE EVEN THINKING ABOUT DYNAMIS ?
So, yeah, this is what I have to bear with since a couple of weeks.
I'm fed up with it. I play this game for fun, not to get pissed on.
I think NorthernExposure will become the LS I'll spend the most time on in the coming days, and I think I'll leave my sack from Lacasteoubliee in my Mog Safe for a couple days. Goddamnit am I fed up with them.

God, while I pretty much think all I've said, it's hardly believable how I lost my cool. Sorry Typo, it's your journal, I shouldn't be venting my rage off like that. Sorry buddy.
Either way, I think I'll need a few more days to vent off, I'm so irritable...
I should take your advice, Moggie, but thing is, I've got nothing else to do... :p
Doesn't help that I learned today that I will get the results from my Bar retakes ( I failed 3 exams, two of them by a single point ; ; ) 2 weeks in advance, 36 hours from now. Ever since I read that e-mail, I've been getting nervous. If I passed them, all I need is finding a job training and finally become a lawyer, however if I failed one or more retakes, I'll have to repass them in July, with 245$ in fees per retake...
And should I still fail in July, it's over. I have to restart from scratch.
Therefore my short-term future will all depend on those 3 numbers I'll see on the Bar's website friday afternoon... as if I didn't have enough pressure for this week already... *sigh*.

My condolences on your Grandfather passing Evad. Your always welcome in NE and we are always glad to see ya.
We got Promyvion-Mea done for a few of us tonight. Once I get Promyvion-Holla, we'll be working on Chapter 2. Drange is working on points for Savage Blade, Ermachko and I are working on points for Black Halo. Derufin, Sarevok, and myself got Fenrir last night. That was so friggin awesome. I wish I had fraps of that you shoulda seen it. Fenrir was down to 5% and the DRK got one hit then the NIN tank, Sarevok, got one hit and the BLM, Derufin, got hate and I started getting panicky, but I saw Fenrir had only a sliver left after Deru's nuke, and the kill looked like this:
Minime casts Holy on Fenrir
Fenrir takes 205 damage
Minime defeats Fenrir.
Needless to say I ran around Jueno shouting OMFG I GOT FENRIR!!!!!
We ate his 2-hour as well, Sare kept hate through a Divine Seal Curaga 2 and a straight Curaga 3. I was thouroughly impressed.
#1 reason we won though; Light weather on Lightsday + 74 BRD sings double CHR so he can land Elegy at the start, followed by constant Dark Carol.
Equipment: yay
Damage: yay
Summary: I am a monster, used parser, out-damage BLM and RNG and everyone else, blah blah.
I've lost my faith in Japanese players. The vast majority haven't grown up yet and embraced this thing called "community" we have going on in the game. Stop being selfish/afraid/prejucide, whichever one of those applies, and PT with people from other places.
Dead horse of an issue, but it's disgusting, and leaving me with nothing to do at the moment. I guess Japan wins.
You know, Typo could go on and on about some of the people I have encountarued while on me leveling trip, and include all the drama-lined activies that have been going on in broad daylight in our HNM community, but instead I shall skip the morbid details and simply continue taru wonder how beginners, con artists, and fools can make it to this level...
That's the 1st Wonder of Vana'diel~! *Ahem* Anywey...

!</center>
So, if I hadn'taru said before, departing with Big Red and embracing the Orange was definitely the best thing for me to do. Realising I could be placing better things in certain slots, Typo made use of all those zeroes and gathered all of the following:
Federation Headgear (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=5123), Minuet Earring (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=8902), Merman's Earring (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=4197), Victory Ring x2 (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=3141), Enkelados's Bracelets (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=1353), Amemit Mantle +1 (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=4300), Creek M Clomps (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=4858).
Some of those items were hard to come by, since they're pretty rarely stocked. Now, with a STR rating of 54+37, Typo has gone from doing a measly average of 30ish per punch, to 50ish per punch, even hitting non-criticals of 70 from time-to-time on IT Toramas and Processionaires with Berserk on. ^.^ It has made a colossal difference, and sometimes Typo can still have a decent hit rate with just sushi, and no accuracy gear at all besides AF. Of course, me Howling Fist WS has benefited (http://photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/Chat%20Logs/?action=view¤t=howling829.jpg) nicely (http://photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/Chat%20Logs/?action=view¤t=howling890.jpg) from it as well. \n(*`.')n/ <- *Typoflex*
And so I have been punching knees and guts and such using Parser (http://www.frontiernet.net/~Spyle/FFXI/ffxi.html) all the while, beating everyone in sight, a feat that makes me smil- gah, rhyme. >.> I've only been running it for a couple days nau, but from the stats I've gathered thus far, Typo ish only out-damaged by Rangers (not even BLM), and that's due to their consistantly superior WS damage. >.< I'm excited about Dragon Kick (and making Light!) and am hoping it delivers solid damage every time from 65 n' up~!
Between PTs comes relaxing (http://photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/?action=view¤t=kittymilk.jpg) n' posing (http://photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/?action=view¤t=munchiefood.jpg) with kitties (http://photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/?action=view¤t=catsandwhich.jpg), and wondering whatcha get when you taste a gilsellercat (http://photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/Chat%20Logs/?action=view¤t=benblove.jpg). Mmkay, guess I had that coming...
Minitaru, Ermahume, congratarulations on Black Halo!

Oh, they're done already with Black Halo ? Congrats guys.
I don't have much else to say, I haven't played as much as the other weeks. About all I did were a few quests, including the Sand Charm one. Pirates attack so rarely I ended up killing the Sea Horror four times, including two all on my own. ^^
Oh yeah, we won in Dynamis-Bastok yesterday... was the second time for me. :p
Don't get your hopes TOO high for Dragon Kick, Typo. It's not much stronger than Howling Fist from what I've seen, unless you sub /thief and SATA it. Same thing for Asuran Fists. But since you've stuck so much on STR, who knows ? But I can tell you that without a thief sub, I've rarely seen monks impress me on their WS.

Typo was somehow expecting that. Can't remember seeing too many big hitting Dragon Kicks meself back in the day... :x
Too bad /THF gimps your dot too much to be worth the extra WS damage, unless that changes by 70+. Typo outdamages MNK/THF at this level by a tremendous amount. -.-
What ish more important than hitting huge numbers, though, ish getting a CONSISTANTARU number, rather than sometimes making an impressive 500+ Howling Fisty, and other times only seeing 180. I'm sick of that.

That's EXACTLY what I ALWAYS tried to make Jago understand ever since he switched his main sub to Thief. I should show him THAT. lol
EDIT : I'm not really sure if it really changes after 70 though, Jago can probably tell you better because he started using /thf at 68. Try having a chat with him.

Several days ago I happened across a thread on Allakhazamzy where it was being determined whether an extremely rare and elusive weapon, Tactician Magician's Hooks +2, is actually more efficient DOT-wise than the much-whoredlauded Spartan Cesti. A series of experiments were conducted using parser, even throwing the #1-rated Cross-Counters into the mix, and surprise surprise, not only did the Hooks out-damage the Spartans, but they came close to being exactly on par with the CCs~! This information was far too curious for Typo taru just sit and read and marvel over, and so I have been making it a point taru get me little handsies on those Hooksies and see this for meself~ Pretty discouraging to note ish that these things are only put on sale perhaps once only per month, and being an HQ of an HQ for crying out loud, it must be an interesting mix of hell and luck to even craft in the first place.
After a few hours of PT seeking + AH camping yesterday afternoon, T.M. Hooks POP! Typo must look up the name of the seller today out of sheer interest... My next PT took to Boyahda for the usual crawler-tipping fun, and I would alternate between weapons every 15 minutes, expecting to see a difference. Nyeh, but there was no obvious change to observe in the switch, and even though WS damage ought to be lower on the Hooks because of lower weapon damage, that certainly wasn'taru showing at all.
After 2 hours I was already convinced that I might as well sell the Cesti and be happy with the profit, even though the new weapon's pretty much the same...well, except nothing sounds cooler than a piercing hand-to-hand weapon stabbing and scraping away at enemy body! Then at some point afterwards, as though Typo had just woken up and opened me eyes for the first time for the day, I realised that my attack intervals were just plain abnormal, even with Haste. With T.M. Hooks +2 equipped, Haste in effect and Brown Belt for teh win, Typo would strike approximately every 4 seconds. I use TP and switch immediataruly to Spartans, where the interval became ~5 seconds.
As a result, I gain several more rounds of attacks per battle for what seems to be identical damage to what the Cesti are capable of, not to mention 1.8M for the sale of the now redundant purple 'knucks! Keke~!
Dragon Kick DMG -> Looks like another Howling Fist
Dragon Kick looks -> Boring!
Typo's incoming RNG days will make up for this. ;3
Typo has been sick. Somehow developed a cold, which lead to tonsillitis, and now I'm here stuffing all kinds of tablets and icky antibiotics down me throat to help ease it. But fear not, Typofans! Everyone's favourite taru ish still trying to do his thing, even in excrutiating pain! *coughs up a hairball*
My computer has also decided to pack up again, making it the 2nd time in the last 3 weeks it's taken a break. I guess I should have known. The beginning of my vacations are always cursed, and so I expect at least one more blunder to occur sometime this week - only then can I start enjoying myself!
Typo ish mnk66 nau, and have been considering /thf for 70+. I've heard alot of good cases for and against it, and figure I'll never know if it's really worth it unless I try it myself. I'm dreading losing double attack and Berserk, but am intersted in how me damage holds up, and liking the idea of 600-900 Dragon Kicks.
I've already gotten some strange reactions from people when Typo tell them that I'm not planning taru stick with mnk after I hit 75. I'm still leveling this job for a few very simple reasons:
1. MNK started as an experiment, and happened to be a fun one at that. Typo kept practicing the discipline, and suddenly I was level 60+~. Just because it's this high already, might as well continue to the top. There isn't anyone I know with more playtime than me, so I guess it's hard to understand why I'm ok with "wasting" all this time. Until September 12th, I have nothing at all to do. :x
2. It's a personally preferred "help job" alternative to blm. Yesh blm ish one of the most in-demand jobs there is, and you'd expect someone with a 75 job to use it - but I'm tired of casting...well at least tired of black magic, anyway, and since it's been such a long time since Typo has performed as blm in a serious battle situation, I don't feel I can be of much use in that capacity, especially with nothing but AF. I'd rather put on me gloves, lace up me boots, and help you in a more direct and violentaru fashion. If you MUST have TypoBLM, I'll do it if you beg. :3
3. Tarutaru Asuran Fists? Kekekekeke.
4. Just to be able to say I've conquered the challenge of leveling mnk, and as a taru at that. Ish not something you see everyday.
We'll see what happens. Hopefully this pain will go away so Typo can pick up the pace again.
Typo ish feeling much better nau, but am still taking things rather slowly. I've been doing alot less leveling, but still taking in a PT or two whenever I can~ It disturbs me how much people seem taru like Bibiki Bay... I had a neat PT there todey, but I'd still rather an empty Den of Rancor camp, as lizzies have lower defense than gobbies. ^.^ Almost level 68, and one step closer to the top of MNKmountain~!
I've been accumulating guild points in goldsmithing, after Shiinacat told me she was going for shades. Typo remembers at one point being crazy for those things, and just like that, decided it'd be great to have them taru go with me Temple Cyclas and baggy rasetsu pants when I get them. So far I have 35.somethingk, and will be just over 40k GP tonight. It should take less than 2 weeks for Typo to reach the required 70k GP, but will need to do some mining to make enough cash to level GS from 43.9 - 48 for Journeyman rank.
http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/index.shtml
Check out the gobbie and yagudohats! Typo must have!!! >.>
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/goldsmith.jpg</center>
I was hoping this next update would include a nice big piccy of Typoshades... but nyeh. Even though I will have enough GP in the next 2-3 days, goldsmithing ish 44.4, and I need 48.0.
Know how much cash it took to get the .4 in 44 ?:O
200k in mythril rings! ^-')b
Typo has always hated crafting, and this isn't helping. All of this just to complete some personal goal, keke...
Ish no different from MNK - at this point, I really not feel like going back to it, but why quit at 67 ?_? My gear ish more than sufficient, and I needen't spend any more on MNK at all - if only there were more competent parties out there, it woudn't be such a chore. *shrug* At least me last PT was fun...Den of Rancor, my favourite spot at this level, ish sadly one of those places people are afraid to go because of whatever reason, whatever whatever whatever.

/THF would be fun for even more nifty highlights, but now I haven'taru the patience for that.
I'm mainly worried about the OptiHat, that I won't be able taru find help getting eyes for a cluster, and that I'll have to spend more hours of excrutiating mining just to buy one. Remember when they used to cost only 300k ?.-.
Things will continue to be quiet for a while, as I figure out exactly what I actually want to do during this "break" of mine. For a while Typo was set to pick up RNG right after MNK, but interest waned as time passed, and then the recent info on the changes being made to both RNG and NIN kind of pushed me further away.
If ya see Typo hangin' around in me volcano, or Bastok, don't be afraid taru say "Hau! What's new, taru~!"

When Moggie ish stronger, he'll try to help Typo with Optical Fungus Hat. <3
Where does it all go, just when you thought you were ready to catch a second wind? Unfortunately my break didn't exactly refresh me as I'd hoped it would. I do have a renewed interest in Vana'diel now, but somewhere along the line Typo managed to lose all remaining motivation to continue MNK.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/steelfight.jpg</center>
As you could have guessed from earlier posts, it's really been a gradual change of heart over several months. MNK was fun - lots of fun up until 60. Typo always loved how in-your-face it ish, and yet it's so laid back in execution. I've always had the higher-than-average-MNKie gear thanks to me volcano, and can confidently say I was a solid fighter from the beginning until now. However, as dear journal knows by nau, my extensive mining exploits lasting all of 23 consecutive days from late-April to mid-May unexpectedly took me out of things, expelled the rush I used to have, and I was never again able to recover and fully get back into the groove with MNK. The past 2 months have been an on-going effort to just "wrap things up", being that I'm "so close to the top". Keke...
Quitting before Asuran Fists wasn't ever on the cards until recently, where Typo once again re-discovered the hardships of PT assembling; the waiting game at the start of the day and between parties, the uncertainty of even landing anything promising within the next several hours, and the near-impossibility of creating one of my own, due to lack of job resources, or the infamous "JP onry" issue. Typo has already proven that when he ish committed to something, everything goes into it, and differently, if I still cared as much about MNK, and the eventual WS reward I was previously excited about then those waits wouldn't be an issue. But alas, it's simply too hard to have the patience when you no longer possess that drive.

After all the stories I've heard about him, more specifically how "impossible" he is without 70-this and 70-that... Nyeh! The "Legend" of Steelfleece ish now but a nursery rhyme, but to his credit his 3 minutes of Typo-tanked fame were certainly entertaining! It's been a while since I stopped working so hard and simply hung out with me friends; help with this n' that, hang out and chat. Typo has been so caught up in forcing himself through this job I'm struggling with, that perhaps I forgot what it was to just "take it easy"... Todey was fun, and I'd like more days like this, only with more resting and sleeping involved before the actual activities. *dozes off* "X3
I may one day return to Boyahda with fist poised to pummel, or debut in Gustav with intention to smash! Today, however, ish time taru put away the gloves and start having fun again. So I've been thinking it's time Typo took it easy. Better a kinky foot-massage (
) than 6 hours of idle posing in Port Jeuno~^^
I do have a new character which is currently an experiment - an aspiring NIN at that! But don'taru anyone worry about Typotaru going anywhere! It ish yet still far from my time. ^-')b

After the update, I tried to get an early start on the experience that is the mad rush for the new beastman headgear, and NPC buddy-buddy buddy.
Thing is, nowhere could I find all the information I needed in one convenient location. So I ended up spending most of my day researching until I was able to piece together just what I had to do to gather all the ingredients for my beloved Yagudo Headgear.
With my cool new beast hat I would run around Jeuno, Eldieme, and Ghelsba, securing my NPC buddy while taking out everything in me path, the world to mistake Typo for the most powerful midget-bird EVER! Here were my ingredientarus~
yagudo cutting: check! Rare/Ex item obtained from a quest which ends with you speaking to weirdo gobby (

yagudo feather x2: check! AH
cockatrice skin: check! AH

Furious, Typo took to chocobo and launched himself into the swirling vortex to kill every single Bugard in Lufaise Meadows and chip one of those teeth and have it, no matter what!
Spread throughout the day, I spent roughly 3 hours Bugard-tipping and managed to skin half of them. No visits from the monster tooth fairy for them anytime soon. There was even this anomaly (
) I've never seen before... terrifying! It was at this point that newly-goblin-headed Kanchi from linkshell proved a life saver, and I warped back to Jeuno to meet him and complete my list.
Now all Typo must do ish find someone with 100 clothcraft, 60 leather, 60 smithing...will Ulmo ever wake up ?:O
i'm sorry to see you giveing up MNK typo, you got so close. i'm sure you will make a great whatever job you go for next as you did with BLM and MNK.I'm sorry too. Typo did make it pretty close to the end, but my motivation was never really the same after the lengthy breaks I took. Incidentally, the same happened to me when I reached 70 with BLM. {Hmmm...}
Speaking of BLM, I'm looking for a "cheap" (without having to purchase and equip actual exp gear) and safe (easy/lazy) way to recover about 300 exp to re-level to 75. The new Chocobo Escort quest (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=10&mid=1121800866597612034&num=36)
has a possible dragon chronicles (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=5124) page reward, which'd do the trick. I could get something similar from another escort quest, but those look boring.
Typo's chocotime from Windy to Jeuno was around 13 mins...that seems really slow, now that I think about it. I was 35 seconds slower than the record. Reward: a bunch of greens. Methinks the prizes are random, because record breakers and slowpokes alike still get anything from chronicles back down to greens.
Summerf..."Sunbreeze" begins tomorrow, and with all the new goodies (http://photobucket.com/albums/v724/phabin/July%2019th%20Update/) coming out, there's bound to be something in there (swimtrunks X3) that Typo and Aleste, my new kitty will want!

do a ballista with new rules level 40 cap i get 350 ex per time i go and i think 70 is like 450 ex so that's "(easy/lazy) way to recover about 300 exp to re-level to 75" and + its fun :D

Or you could come and farm some DCs with me, Typo. Your choice. :p
Well, I haven't posted here in a long time. I guess I'll try to summarize things up. Sorry if it's a bit of a long post, Typo, but I figured you might have been curious as to what I've been doing recently.
I left both Lacasteoubliee and NorthernExposure, but for different reasons.
With Lacaste, I was tired of having to answer dozens and dozens of questions from others, as if the mere fact of being level 75 and Rank 10 meant I was some omnipotent god and knew everything about this darn game. Plus I was always arguing for god knows what with a few members ( You can go see the post I made earlier in this journal as an example. ). Also, being one of the few high levels meant there wasn't much for me to do with them. Besides leveling, all that Jago, Laurewen and I could do was farm, skill-up, or fight avatars. Not having many options can get tiresome fast, so I got fed up.
As for NorthernExposure, as great as most of the people in the LS were, I just didn't "feel at home". Maybe it had a lot to do with how fed up I was with La Caste and not really wanting to have anything to do with any LSes for awhile, who knows. I was also having enough shit as it is in life, what with my grandpa dying and my failures at the Bar.
Either way, the only pearl I kept was Lydya's Dynamis LS. And because he was also with lostEXP, an HNMLS, I said what the heck, might as well try it.
Well, I stayed two weeks with them. lol Reason I left ? They didn't like that I told them that since I was already with Lydya's group for Dynamis, I'd keep going with him and not with lostEXP, and they basically said that I had no right to refuse doing activities with them because that's what new members in a LS would do, etc. So I left. Nobody will force me to do things I don't want to while playing a ***cking video game, dare I'd say.
For the short time I stayed with them, I realized a few things. Fighting HNMs is fun, but anything related to it isn't. Camping for hours is boring, having a fair-and-square claimed King Behemoth ( I was the one to win the claim to boot. Not too shabby for a first HNM fight. ;) But luck had a part in it, I have to admit. ) stolen by Cato's LS isn't fun either. Farming god items is utterly boring as well, especially when half your group doesn't really know where and what to do ( that included me, I kept asking Acer what to do, and where to go ), meaning we take 3 times the time we should have taken. Ugh.
Either way, strangely enough, after I left lostEXP, many members left, including Lydya. Some of them because they didn't like how I was treated and felt like unless we are shell-holder or sackholder, we can't voice our opinion, others after a disastrous sky run that, strangely enough, took place the day after I left. lol Either way, lostEXP is still active, and I know most of the members that are still there are nice people. So no hard feelings for them on my part, and I wish them the best of luck. I only wish they remember that as addictive as FFXI is, it is just a game, and when you talk to the others, you're dealing with real people. So please remember to have respect.
At that time, when I was still with lostEXP, Mihmendra asked Jago to take over as La Caste's new leader because she felt like she had no time to be leader anymore, what with university and work. Little did she know, Jago and Laure had applied for lostEXP , for pretty much the same reasons I did. However, a few days later I left, and so because of that, Jago and Laure didn't want to go to lostEXP anymore. So Jago accepted, on the condition that he'd create a new LS, and run it the way HE'd decide. Having no LS anymore, I told him I'd take a day or two to decide if I'd join or not once I'm done with my final retakes at the Bar.
Feeling like I more or less "forced" Jago to accept, as he had no more real choice anymore, I decided to join "Musketeers", the reborn Lacasteoubliee, and more or less became Jago's right-hand man, and a sackholder. We have about the same members, but we enforced some rules, and our organization got improved tenfold. So because of that, now we know what to do, and when. So far we've been mainly doing coffer key hunts because we have half a dozen members nearing or at 60 ( It seems they've been leveling while I was gone. :p ) and even 3-4 new 70s. Our next task will probably be to help them with Zilarts or the Promys.
But at the same time, I kept doing Dynamis twice a week with Lydya's group.
Speaking of that, our group has become very successful. We now have access to Xarcabard since two weeks, and won Beaucedine twice, giving access to Xarcabard to over 50 members, so we're going to farm in Dynamis-Xarcabard this Sunday.
As far as AF2 goes, PLD AF2 drops well in Bastok, but dropped only once in Windurst many months ago, and I lost the lot back then, while it never dropped in Sandy or Beaucedine... Wednesday, we were in Dynamis-San d'Oria, and after we killed the boss, we had an extra 20 minutes of farming. Two PLDs out of five left already, along with about one quarter of the group, thinking no AF2 would drop. Then it happened :
"You find a pair of Valor Gauntlets on the (insert name of mob here)."
"Evaddaragon's lot for the Valor Gauntlets : 924 points."
"Evaddaragon obtains a pari of Valor Gauntlets." ^^
Those gloves are godly, enough said. You want proof ? Have a look for yourself :

Anyway, these are so good that, combined with my newly-bought Rosenbogen ( Got it for 1,050,000. ), I sold my Adaman. My AF Body and Boots are better than Adaman, and keeping just the cuisses would have looked weird, and were only slightly better than the AF legs, so... I'm back in White.
I'm 2/5 on AF2 now, with a Relic Sword and Relic Shield as trophies I'll probably never get to upgrade. :p And according to our Dynamis schedule, we're doing Xarcabard ( Valor Surcoat ) Sunday, Windurst Wednesday ( Valor Leggings ) and Beaucedine next Sunday ( Valor Breeches ) so if luck his on my side, I may snatch a third piece, or even more. lol But I'll take it one at a time.
And then this morning, I had yet another good news, the result of my final retakes at the bar are in... It was make or break this time, either I pass both exams I had left to pass, or I have to redo the program all over. Therefore I spent the entire month of June studying at least 4 hours a minimum of 6 days per week, and then at the beginning of July I studied day and evening, playing FFXI solely for Dynamis. I had to pass on last Bastok run, because it was on the day I had one of the two exams. :P lol
...
And...
It was my best two grades from all the exams I passed at the Bar this year. ^^ I am officially done with Bar exams. All that's left to do is find a job-training that will last 6 months, and after that I will be assermented, and become a full-fledged lawyer. ^^
I will be taking one week-off before I start looking for my job-training. I want to recieve the official grade sheet and the confirmation of my eligibility. I also believe I have earned this break. lol So starting in August, I'm looking for my job-training.
So, that's about what happened in the past month. Sorry it was long, but I wanted to share it with Typo and the others. :p
Great news about your Bar results, Dave! After all you went through, you definitely do deserve that break - make the most of it! ;3 I'm glad to hear things are going well with the new LaCaste/Musketeers, and I hope you continue to feel at home there. I went through a stage not too long ago where I was feeling very out-of-the-loop, and even though I'm in 4 linkshells I couldn't really call any of them "home"...not a very fun feeling. I've been getting back into things gradually, and I think I'm beginning to feel something for NE again.
I couldn't agree more when you said:
Fighting HNMs is fun, but anything related to it isn't.
It's no joke how many times I've tried, but just can't seem to stay interested in HNM activities. Not to mention the attitudes of some, like what you mentioned before are so unbelievably stubborn. Also, I never properly utilized either of my high-level jobs, and even before I could I lost all interest in continuing to level/build both. I also fear that I've lost any skill I used to possess with BLM, and avoid that job like the plague so as not to disgrace myself. Even if I wanted to take part in anything end-game related, something I do feel off and on, I'd have to level a new job for it, and still survive the drama that comes with it. ":3
There was a thread at KI about Cato stealing KB from you guys. Typo was so proud to see good ol' Evad win the pull, but unfortunately, Cato will be Cato, and unless someone takes a gun to its head...
Anywho, congratarulations on your Dynamis exploits, especially receiving another AF2 piece, and becoming a "white knight" again! :3 Have you gone for an NPC, or beastman hat yet?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/typo-raka.jpg</center>
Typo spent about 45 minutes waiting in line (
) for the "Mirror Mirror" BCNM. Teamed up with a JPcat and an elf DRG for the quick win - I was barely able to engage the dragon before it was all over. ._. I took Raka the cat out for some training time, and after about 30 mins she was on her way. I'm not exactly sure why, but I had fun...that's all that matters, I guess! X3

Oh yeah, forgot to talk about the NPC.
I did on the first day, and waited over 2 hours in Ghelsba, while we still were able to do it only one person at a time. I went there with Yuuki.
I got myself a shoulder-length brunette hume named Amerita.
I summonded her 3 times already.
First time was to show her to Jago and Laurewen. I made her fight about 4 Ants in Altepa, then talked to her and sent her on her way.
The second time I summonded her, I took her out farming Sabertooth Tigers in Batallia Downs.
And today I took her to fight EP weapons in Ro'Maeve, but she died by getting spammed with Whirl of Rage, and I had no MP to cure her.
Anyway, since the beginning she used to be wearing a Xiphos with Lauan Shield and Scale Mail set. Now she has change for Plate Leggings and Cuisses, and I have the option of changing her combat style. I can choose "Shield" ( she'll provoke at the start of every fight and try to tank ), "Attacker" ( Just attacks and tells me when she uses a WS. ) or "Healer" ( Haven't tried it yet... guessing she'll cure me or something. )
So yeah, that's about what there's to say about my sweet Amerita. :p
Leetfade has put together a couple Gustav bones pts in the last couple weeks, and despite my early retirement, the prospectaru of KRT-type exp was more than enough incentive for me to slip back on the gloves and jump back out into action!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/bones-amikiri.jpg</center>
Unfortunataruly, Amikiri the scorpionhead was ready for us this time. It seduced Bartman (model: tll1-2_66MNK version: "Spinning Attack" mode: 'silly') into wearing a sissy-pink LS fit for La Theine's finest flower fields, and jumping right into the fray to get himself personally handled. It was the kind of scene you'd be used to if you like Chuck Norris, T.G. Cid, Batman, or Typotaru - a one-sided fight so brutal, you wonder just how many more butts there could possibly be left to kick!
In the end, the bad guys in pink managed to find some way to lay out our hero until the next episode, so until then, Amiscorp ish just lucky it wasn't US that got him!

Yup, we're currently making chop suey of Sotaka's nerves!</center>
With about 2 and a half minutes of party time left, we took it to the undead. The KRT exp rate just wasn't there. I figured that with a brd, and the fact that most of the PT was comprised of melee, we'd kill almost as quickly as manaburn, but with almost no downtime...
Oh well... The PTs were good nevertheless, and Typo had fun yesh yesh. I just regret that I can no longer show what a powerhouse I really can be, since I've had to pour most of me funds into my new character. I don't exactaruly feel gimp, but the feeling that I could be doing so, so much better is kinda hard to shake.
Despite all that, I'll continue to attend as long as I'm free. It'd be an honour taru one day obtain Asuran Fisties alongside my fellow MNKies. \n(*`.')n/
____________________</center>
Typo has been feeling that itch again - you know, the one where you feel your current millions just aren'taru enough, and ya just need more more more?! Well, due to mining almost driving me insane, and Magicl making me want to glide across the seas and personally Typokick him from China to Mars, I decided to find an alternative extra-curricular activity to help fund my future {insert job here} obsession...or at least to calm my paranoia (the fear of one day not being able to throw away a 50k item to free up space in me inventory because, well let's face it, it's 50k...) with the thought of having even more money...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/mee-bird.jpg</center>
I think alot of people out there already know the ins and outs of Mr. The Punisher - but I don't think much of my competition does. If I'm wrong, they certainly have a great way of masking it. :3 I do believe I'm a pretty quick draw, lag notwithstanding, and if I'm one of the lucky ones to see him pop, I almost expect to snag 'em.
No drop yet. :X 0/1.
Typo would not be surprised if this only lasted about as long as Torrent, H.M. the, but I must admit that the 5 or so hours I've spent in Oztroja thus far have had a nifty kick to them. Ish time for the next fastest finger round, and a possible 2.5 biggies for the winner ain't a bad prize, eh ?;3

In other news, I've been thinking about moving the journal. I've wanted to make my own layout and really personalize the whole thing for a long time, but I've been lazy. Though it may seem a bit too late for that right now, I know I still have quite a few months in me at the very least, and now that I've started a new character, now might be a good time to change things up a bit!

Aleste~ MNK19 > THF25</center>
Thing is, I don't know exactly what kind of reaction this huge diary of Vana'diel experiences and memories actually gets, since not alot of people reply, and I don't like to rely on the "views" stat alone. With my new kitty character, Aleste, and all of her upcoming adventures to be logged, this thread might soon start to feel a little cramped. Stay tuned !:X

Sometimes people would rather just sit back and read, Typo. :-b
I'm glad to see you had fun in the bone parties. Unfortunately, it hasn't been up to par with my expectations, but I think it will be. It just takes some time to get in a "groove". With us changing bards, paladins, and whms, it makes it tougher.
I definitely had a lot of fun and we still got decent exp. We definitely should get to the no down time level once we get everyone settled in and get some of these crazy mages to mind their mana. LoL The Banish III burst was very nice, but the excessive use of Curaga III was a killer. It was a chain killer and a hate killer. We'll get it!
EDIT: Can you tell I just got ModelViewer and don't have Photoshop yet. ; ;

SOB Typo! I just realized that in the screenie you posted I'm the only one it shows missing. LoL. You need a new one tomorrow night! By the way, I hit 68 last night in a good pt in Bibiki so maybe we'll start running through them a bit faster and we can get ever closer to our {Asuran Fists}!
You'll have to get a pic of one of your 800+ dmg Dragon Kicks for your journal too. ;-)
I know, I know, it's been forever, Typo's been a bad taru, but all journal gets for nau ish weeee lil' postie~
Spent some time camping Mee Deggi throughout the last few weeks, and thanks to those loveable gilsellers, I became a whole -0- gil richer! It didn't take long for me to remember how it felt back when Hoo the Torrent was the hot thing on the street, as you youngins like Az like to say. NM camping is like one big gamble. You sacrifice your time for a mere chance at grabbing a creature, followed by a battle whose outcome may very well involve no reward what-so-ever... The other side ish big payoff that rarely happens. Still, that 3~triple-oh~triple-oh payoff from Deggi 'Sam' the Punisher far outweighs anything that volcano could give me.
I could obtain 1 single pair of o.kotes in 7 days of camping. That's 3mil, with not much effort put in.
A good (realistic) day (6-10hr) in Ifrit's is about 4-500k. Let's Mining for 7 days in a row, at 500k each day. That's 3.5mil, if I'm extremely lucky, and I'm almost pulling me hair out from post-dungeon stress...
I guess you're used to hearing all this moneytalk coming from Typo, keke, but admittedly I've become obsessed with numbers and stats and things with +1 tagged ontaru them - I don't feel at ease if I know I could do better, even if it's 'just +1 to a stat' better. I suppose that comes from being spoiled from day 1 in Vana'diel, huh? Thanks alot, fishing. Soon I'll be trying to understand the handful of complicated formulae you see being thrown around messageboards the 'net over, even though I don't understand many of them at this time. With Aleste, I planned to level Nin as new main, and found myself caught up in a 'plan', trying to calculate to the nearest 1k or so how much I'd be spending on -equipment- from 1-60. It was hard to estimate consumables until I realized how fast I'd be eating through shihei when utsusemi: ni came into play.
Quite an experience, I've always wondered what it was like to be "busy", and for those 2 weeks I knew, and it felt great. The only thing that half-ruined it for me was the fact that my main comp's down, and I'm once again forced to play on PS2. The screen res honestly hurts my eyes, and even though I changed the font colors, I'd still sometimes miss shadows, and get messed up. :x I'm 2 weeks away from a brand new video card, good-as-new computer, and wonderfully detailed Typosnaps !;3 For now, the mediocre will have taru do, and I'm too sleepy to post those nau. ;3
Something I've probably only voiced to one person, is the fact that Nin had competition with one other particular job I've been curious about since my days as a Bst... that'd be Thf. Typo let Bst go, because as much as I liked the inherent independence, I was too much of a lone wolf - a party job that could also solo things if needed, ish more my style, and that's how I got to thinking about Nin and Thf. Aleste has just had a chance to try them both, and because I'm busy, yet not too busy, because I feel happy and comfortable in the role, because I have enough money to get the "best" possible equips money can buy from now (29) until 57 (SH requires an o.kote to drop for meh), and because Hide is such a wonderful mpk tool for those gilsellers whenever I feel like "claiming" Mee Deggi, I've chosen Thf.
Aleste ish a sexy manthracat brought to you by Typo.
Any emanating speaking habits or actions made in similar tone or shade of a known Typoism may or may not be purely coincidental, or intentional, mew, nya, meow, raar, ?_?, ;o, :3.

Well I'm glad you are enjoying your new job, Typo! I wish you could have been there getting Asuran Fists with me this weekend though. :-/ Hopefully one day we'll see the taru backflip! :-D
I will be leveling my NIN (24) very soon to get it caught up so maybe we'll get a chance to level together again. :-b
I went to Castle O to camp for Fuma Kyahan and it popped right behind me when I was running around the circle. I turned hitting voke, it turned purple, and the person who "won" the claim never attacked it. ; ; It is definitely frustrating losing to botters. I'll get it one day. LoL
...until that new card, and a good-as-new compy. FFXI will look prettier than ever with better hardware, and a sexycat to adorn the pages of me journal! ;3 ;3 ;3
Aleste has made alot of progress behind the scenes. The problem is, it's been quick, perhaps a little too quick. You zoom through 50 levels, able to tackle pretty much everything on your lonesome, only to hit the mid-levels, filled with roadblocks such as genkai, AF, and various other quests/missions that become available/necessary at this point. I can't stand asking people for help, which may seem silly given the fact that this game is all about depending on others to make it through..
Here's a list of things kitty would like to put behind her within the next few weeks:
AF
Rogue's Armlets (
http://www.bvvp.com/gaming/ffxi/thfhands.html)
Rogue's Bonnet (
http://www.bvvp.com/gaming/ffxi/thfhead.html)
Rogue's Poulaines (
http://www.bvvp.com/gaming/ffxi/thffeet.html)
The annoying step everyone needs to take... at least I can pick the coffers, a perk of being a THF, and should at least be more entertaining than dragging other people around for hours of coffer key no-shows.
Hornetneedle (
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=2862)
I think by now most people have at least heard the horror stories about this item. It's notsomuch the NM involved to end the quest, but the drop rate of the infamous bee larvae from Wespes. Perhaps I can be one of the lucky ones to be spared the days worth of honey pots and chips? They're fatty. D:
4-3 Magicite (
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=&fquest=151)
Beadeaux. Don't want to be too far through the 50's and still rank 4.
That's just some of what I want to do pretty soon, and that's a ton of assistance I'm going to need... Most of my "friends" I left in HNM circles, and you know how it is: we're all usually busy with something, so much that sometimes there isn't the time to chat with friends. Typo's WW pearl remains inactive because I don't favour BLM or MNK these days, and so I've nothing to contribute with them. Even when I used to pop in for a visit, there'd be too much activity going on to really keep up, or be noticed. I really don't have as many connections as I used to, and I feel guilty asking the same few for help over and over. I have a thing against not talking to someone for a while, then suddenly popping up just to ask for help. ":X
It also doesn't help that I've changed characters. I've noticed that alot of people just didn't have a clue that I'm still here! I thought I told enough people. ":x Perhaps Typo should get a megaphone and make a world tour...
Anyway, you know me, I'm still on a money binge, and have been trying to compete with Bihlycat and Celesyhume for a while now. I'm thinking it's not worth it at all, until the impossible happens, and they get banned for using every hack under the sun. Sure I can't prove it to the GMs, but my eyes don't deceive me when M.C. Deggi Fresh appears to the live crowd, only to get jumped from across the room by a teleporting cat. They do alot of other nonsense too, but save the extreme stuff for rare occasion in fear of getting caught, I s'pose. Anyone who's even camped him for even an hour knows exactly how these 2 move. They need to be banned.
My gear and current funds amount to just over 9 million. I won't divulge at this time how much more I'm currently looking for, buuuuuuuuuut, Typo did spend all his seals lately on the BC40 Under Observation (
http://ffxi.somepage.com/bcnm/37). A peacock charm for use, and later on, for sale. Can't go wrong, right? Unfortunately I allowed someone else to take my next turn with their seals, and what do you know?! Yeah, I'm happy for 'em, but worried about me. I couldn't be more paranoid about my equipment, and what I have equipped in every slot.
Aleste has 99 seals, and 2 shots at this thing. Typo had it easy, as a trio of BLM are literally unbeatable here, but kitty now has the challenge of a less-guaranteed NIN/NIN/RDM formation. Drange has graciously offered to help on RDM, and even lent me his Charm for a while - thanks again. ; ; If I could find another NIN or a BST, I'll be able to get this show on the road.
Hope I have good news next time!
Oh, and Leet, congratarulation! I take it you've already had elvaan neckloads of fun with Asuran Fisties! How's life these days ?:3

Coffer picking (
) is more fun than I thought, and you can expect there to be a KittyWorldTour coming up in future, where I'll be scouring the globe to obtain maps from the treasure boxes of Vana'diel~! THF can be very indenepdant, and that's the main thing that hooks me. Not having to rely on others for key hunts is the fun part, and the prospect of mimics and being able to handle myself in dire situations makes things more exciting for the growing catventurer. Soon they will call me Super Aleste! "The Coffercat", or something that is actually catchy and/or creative. X3

So last night I'm dinking around the AH with /inv flag up, and out of interest I decide to check some of the dear, dear merchandise I have my eyes on. SH 6.3, Flora Cotehardie 2.#, Harpe 4.#. My train of thought wandered over to our good friends in Castle O., and so I checked armor > hands, going straight for the O.Kotes - still at 2.9. "Oh.", I thought to myself, when I took a closer look at the sales transactions...
Sept 28th - Gilsellers sell 3 pairs
Sept 29th - Gilsellers sell 4 pairs
Sept 30th - ................. 0
Well, well, well.
A /sea all Bihl and Celesyna revealed that they were MIA! The gilsellers are gone? Huh, it's not surpising that this (
) would be the scene earlier today. First of many claims, I hope, and we're all praying for the continued absence of aforementioned RMTscum.
Typo has added Catsnaps (http://photobucket.com/albums/v203/bakadl/Cat%20Snaps/) to the gallery for me cat to share some moments, including AF coffers, gobby NMs for AF hat and gloves, Darky Sparky, and the hilarious Death from Above beebee. Keke, silly bee. X3
Dave-o, good luck with the rest of your missions! I'm likely to follow much later on, but I'll get there someday. I'm hoping the new expansion areas and content are highly-accessible without having access to Sea.
In total with Aleste, that's 0/6. :3
Gotta hate PS2. Not only are the graphics awful, but the resolution is so pitiful that names can only be read from up-close, and character models disappear, or don't appear at all when in the distance. The primary threat is absent from CastleO. at least for now, but it's still tough for me to win a claim because I can't tell a Yagudo Interrogator from a Drummer, or even Mee Deggi himself unless I deliberately highlight them with the cursor. If it spawns against a wall it doesn't even appear on my screen period. -.-
I'm positive I'd be at least 6mil richer if I were running PC right now... Cousin of mine needs to hurry the hell up and install my new card before I flip.
I've heard people say that Emsc the cat is a gilseller. It hangs out with Theusiow (definitely a typo, but that's me name, so...) and they're the newest additions to the Mee Deggi muderers roster.
This could be bad.
[editaru]
Latest news: According to a friend of mine who witnessed this last night, Theusiow tele-bots! Typical, one set of GS leave, another takes its place. It's obvious they're always going to be around, so I'll probably have to find a new money-maker...or go back to mining *shudder*.

Synthing has some stuffs :3
WTF does that mean, football head.
I decided not to take any pictures, but Bihlyqyehettii and Celesyna have returned. Apparently there's no punishment at all for botting, and using this unfair advantage to make hundreds of millions more than the average player. Somehow I feel relieved, probably because I won't have to worry about timers, botters and the millions of other NM-related issues that can really put the pressure on you if you do it long enough. I could grind to 60 on THF with what I have and find something to farm like goobbues, perhaps, but shockingly, my first choice is to go crawling back from whence I came, and hope to reap the rewards I know I can from my Volcano.

</center>
What a nifty vacation! Valkurm can be fun when you're not on the level grind~ Takin' in the sun, the sea, the sexycats in their bikinis Brigandines camping the Emperor. The newbies are out in full swing, and Empy campers have no idea how to locate him! He ish a beast of hide-and-seek, but he can'taru hide from me~ Anywho! PC is go, and Typocam's back; I missed you so! *huggles* Kitty got tired of camping her NM, so while she plays housewife in the moggie, your favouritetaru ish back on the job, out during the day and bringing home the mithkabobs~!

</center>
Always ready and eager taru try something new as far as money-making concerns, Typo decided go out on limb as I did with mining, and try me hand (or chocobeak) at chocobo digging. It's one of those mystery thingies that people always talk about, but never do. Fortunately for me a catfriend of mine convinced me taru give it a shot! It seems that I may have underestimated those goofy yellow birdies, and perhaps increasing my digging level over the next few weeks will prove as useful to me now, as mining did when I first set foot into me volcano almost a full year ago!
With a firm grasp on what Typo ish getting himself into, I'll teach a chocobo to make me money if it's the last thing I do!

What's fun about the jungle? So many logs: rosewood, mahogany, ebony, petrified... A fairly low level digger like Typo can still reap rewards from this if there's no competition - that's a pretty big "if" at certain times of the day. Ah, the benefits of a "quick" 40 hours of digging, eh ?:3 Moving on.
Digventures in Valblurm
Ish not a typo, I just don't respect the zone enough to call it by it's proper name anymore. It's only good for being me dig bitch nau!
So. You won't find anything spectacular in Valkurm, but you'll sure find alot of something! That's why it's me favourite leveling ground, also taking into consideration that because ish not a money zone, not many diggers ever bother with it. Successful digs seem to accumulataru more exp than digs on an empty spot. Failing to dig up an item still gives exp, as people have reportedly leveled on such digs; I not sure if I have, but I assume a failed dig gives less exp. The levels, 0-10, are determined by your /wait time between digs, and the amount of time that must elapse after zoning before you can begin digging (area /wait time (a)).
0 > /wait 16 > a60
1 > /wait 11 > a55
2 > /wait 6 > a50
3 > /wait 0 > a45 <<< Yoo are here!
4 > a40
5 > a35
6 > a30
7 > a25
8 > a20
9 > a15
10 > a10
You can find me mid-dig for at least 6 hours a day, and sometimes I try for 8-10. Another month (perhaps not all at once) of this should lead me to at least a15, and in the meantime I can make a respectable amount without the stress of VOLCANO TACTICS, or gilseller. ^.^

Hallo! Todey Typo send greetings from the shifting sands of the south, the Antican Ambiance, the Cactuar Capitol, the Desert of Death itself! Chocodigging is making me see certain zones in a different light; I didn't even know there was so much to Western Altepa Desert until I spent ~20 hours covering every inch of it. ":3
I didn't believe I'd accomplish much by coming here at a40, but catfriend managed to talk me into it. Typo ish kinda glad, because now I know that even at this level there's gold ore, darksteel ore and philosopher's stones, among other things, just waiting for me! With Altepa I can now easily break even on the 300~450k I spend on greens per day, or make a lil' profit of 100-200k if the coral fragments are feeling generous.
At this stage of me digging career I can safely say I've never been so interested in taking 80% of my day to hardly make any money at all. Such a funny thing taru say I bet you're thinking, but I know my efforts will lead me to many prosperous days that never would have been, without this perpetually mysterious activity. ^.^ Typo won't neglect Valkorn (remember, we're not spelling that properly anymore) Dunes, as I'm still high on high %rates and the belief that one skills up faster with more successful digs. So, your favourite Typotaru will be keeping as busy as ever, digging up Vana'diel one world at a time~!

TheChocoboKnights (should be TheCatKnights with all the meowmeows around~) had a lil' RDM AF3 run going in the wee hours of last night, and a sleepy Typotaru decided to put on orange superhero costume to go help. Ish good taru help friends, even if they're friends of your friends that you not know so well. The feeling I get from it is yay, but I'm always so busy... I suppose I have become increasingly impatient with myself having been around for almost officially 2 years now, and have accomplished a great degree less than most people from my generation. That's another thought for another time, though. It was good to be with them again, and will be carrying me old golden linkypearl with me from now on~
Congratarulations again, Chianna. \(*'-')/
Tomorrow, of course ish more digging, and most-likely a35! Happyjoy!

HALOOO TYPOTARU!! How have you been? I have been absent so long
<(~.~)>
I have so much reading to do to catch up on all your adventures! <(@.@)>
On a very random trip through the internet I came across news of a new expansion and it got me thinking of you and all my old friends, i miss all you guys soooo much! Send everyone my taru hugs and kisses (if anyone I knew is still playing <(-_-;;)> guess i'll see tomorrow when i can commit time to reading through what i've missed)
Oh yeah and Kirby is still cool!
Kristof ish alive! Haudy busy guy, how've ya been ?:3 You can come back to the game again again again and be a blue mage after the expansion. ;E Ish good to see ya, and I'll lick some kitties for you, thankies for asking!

What's a taru to do when he's stuck?
Well, Typo could pull a Bani and headbutt me way into a35, but since I not know how to do it properly I'll just settle for flinging as many stacks intaru me current level until it gives up and goes away. :X

Maybe Blue Mage is finnally the right job for Kristof taru ;) As I recall he had some difficulty getting tied down to one. :P
Heya Typo! Nice to see you're still a taru of action, hero to ladycats, and general entarupenuer. I like Kristof, saw the thing about the new expansion and suddenly got homesick for the smell of chocobos and Rolanberry pies. What's all this theif business! :D I'll definatly need to brush up on my Typo lore, but I'm glad you're enjoying my old profession. All these thingys make me entertain thoughts of a return to Cerebrus, WoW Paladining became a little stagnant after a while despite all the shiney swords and other toys that landed in my lap. Though I'm not quite certain how long the FFXI account Gods would keep me in thier memory.
Still is it worth the effort? Have things changed so much in the past year (or more... memory is a bit fuzzy)? Are there any buddies I'd recall remaining from that early generation or are people of your age now considered to be an endaged species, much like the dinosaur (Typosaurus Rex! Rar!!)? Do the gil sellers now sell people like slaves and sit like kings in the throne of once proud San'd Oria or has thier kind been fed sacrafically to Guivre? In short would a return be advisable to all those of us wayward souls lost in distant lands?
Mostly I've missed you, Kristof and other such folk and the camradarie which I found to be superior in FFXI. And even if I do not make a triumphant return I thought it would be good for you to know that you are missed by at least one notacat and hope you can send a similar message to those who might barely recall me. Good luck with the 'birding', and theiving; it is liberating in more ways than one ;)
P.S. : Hey Kristof~taru if you're reading, I'll definatly make an attempt at account recovery, if you're up for returning too. It'll be like old times! You, me, Kirby <(^ ^)> and (nsert names here). I was thinking of going WHM this time, I understand those are in demand still somewhat :D
Typo thought he saw a noncat...
...I did! Well, well, first Kristaru, now Caniahume! Ish great taru see ya! It'd be great to have ya back, and yeppo, me new kitty, Aleste, ish a THF extraordinaire in training. It's a neat job that keeps me just as busy as I need to be in battle, but never feels overhwelming like NIN tends to every now and again. The independence it offers at pretty much any level range makes it generally more fun and exciting than most jobs I've tried. Though it's pretty easy for others in a group to screw up and make a THF look bad, it's just another one of those challenges I can sometimes appreciate. Maybe one day CaniaWHM can teach the cat some stuff about her old profession! ;3
Jojo left the game recently, so now we're down a special tarumage. :< TheOrder/NE ish often quiet these days, but things tend to pick up in the evening when Deru turns on people, and Ermy starts pounding things with club. Drange eats cats.
As far as events such as missions, Typo has not been keeping up to date. Too much dig and catwork. CoP, beyond Promyvions and other early missions, is said to be tedious, and apparently finding help at particular points isn't the easiest thing to do. D, Deru, and a few others have gotten access to Al'Teiu ({sea}), and if you look at 'em closely you can notice the bald patches where the trials pulled their hair out for them! Something that might persuade you to return would be the perk of more easily accessible content in the new expansion. In case nya haven'taru seen this interview (
http://www.theorderls.com/bigkill_sundi.php) before, there's some interesting things said by Sundi~
Anywho, I wrap up entry before I pass out - it's been a long day. ;3 Good to hear from Cania again, and whether or not you do return, you'll always be the best
noncat~

Program installation: check
Content ID recativation: check
Plush Cactaur: check
POL Upadte: check
FFXI Update: Don't even want to think about it...
So I expect to be back sometime tommorow, with any luck I won't have to call customer support and beg for my levels and crafting skills and fame and such back. When you reactivate your content ID and it has your name still attached to it that's a good thing right? If I can get what I had back in tow I'll definatly be on the road to white magery. If not well I'll just keep the game installed and wait to hear if the new expansion is any good and then re-create Cania. So the bad news is that if the original is gone for good, I am too for an indefinte number of months. Good news is that if I restart from scratch I could be Caniaforrealcat.
I was also thinking about starting up my own little journal as a measure to keep me from repeating any rash decisions like I did a year ago ;) Something to firmly tie me back down to FFXI. That and I miss the RPing that went to hell after about the first 5 months in World of Warcraft. Anything special I need to know Typo? Do you just start a thread and keep adding entries or is there some sorta subscription and the sacrafice of a three-headed goat involved? And how do you get those lovely pictures?
Well congratulations on a new level of 'birding' ( Orichalcum!? *theif senses tingling*!) and I'll hope to see you in-game real soon :D

Good luck with Law School, Nicomo. If anyone knows how it is, it's me. ;) 3 more months and I'm a full-fledged lawyer.
Well, seems like you've been busy a-diggin', Typo.
Work has cut down my play-time a lot in the past 2-3 weeks. I've been a busy lawyer-in-training. Anyhow, I managed to get to Al'Taieu. I'm on CoP 8-2 now. My original plan was to go all the way to Promathia with Jago, Laurewen, Drange, Jojojo and Derufin, but to reasons very similar as to why I never finished CoP with my original team, this is more or less canned. Either way, I hope I'll get my Sattva Ring sooner than later, as CoP is the only storyline, mission-wise, that I haven't completed yet. Basically, if I'd manage to find someone to replace Jojojo, and if we could just finally stop to have conficting schedules, we could get over and done with CoP.
Speaking of Jago and Laurewen... Lots of shit happened. Musketeers ended up, to me, to be nothing more than a renamed Lacasteoubliee, so I left yet again about 2 months ago already. However this time I posted the reasons for my departure... and let me tell you, they didn't like it. I was called pompous, arrogant, dictator, mean, what have you. Whatever, I never expected any serious, logical or intelligent arguments of them. I'm also getting slowly less and less fond of Jago and Laurewen, because I made them read my post before I posted it, and they both said to me that they agreed with what I said, yet when came the time to rally to my side... they didn't. In short, I'm the one who voiced our opinion, but am the only one who got trashed on for being honest. I'm the "vilain Evad", while they, who supposedly share my opinion, are still the "good guys". Same thing goes for a lot of the Musketeers, who I now consider to be nothing more than hypocrites, people who were acting all friendly while I was helping them, while in reality had no respect whatsoever towards me. I haven't really rejoined any other LS, even though I did get a new NE pearl, but as you've seen yourself, I haven't passed by often.
You may feel that CoP is tedious, Typo, but I feel that if they make Treasures of Aht Urhgan's missions easier than CoP, the sense of accomplishment just won't be the same. I guess it's hard to understand my point of view when you never got interested in going through all the effort it required. Not saying that having some solo content, or at the very least, "easily" accessible content wouldn't be a nice refresher after going through the challenge that CoP has been, but at the same time, achieving what I and others have done to get to Al'Taieu makes me very proud, a pride that just won't be the same should Treasures of Aht Urhgan be any easier than Chains of Promathia.
Besides that, not much has changed, I'm doing Dynamis only on Sundays recently, not because I don't want to go on Wednesdays, but because I always either get loaded with work, or get invitations to go out. lol I've also tried my hand at Limbus last Sunday, and got invited into what seems to be a small Limbus LS. I don't exactly like some of the people I was with last Sunday, but as long as we have a common, refreshing and fun goal, I guess I can at least tolerate them.
So CoP, Dynamis and Limbus are what keeps me going right now, and it has been so for a good 2 months. Seeing as I only need 2 more pieces of AF2 ( I lost four times on the Valor Breeches and once on the Valor Surcoat ; ; ), that we're nowhere near ready to take on the Dynamis Lord, that Limbus is nowhere near as complex as Dynamis and that I'm nearly done with CoP, it's about time I start thinking about another activity... but for that, I'll need money. Indeed, I'll take up alchemy, which is currently at 20, and cooking to 60, not so much for making money, but for reducing expenses, and out of convenience. Indeed, at these levels I can craft all of my meds, and my own drinks. The only thing I'd often use that I wouldn't be able to craft are my tasty Tavnazian Tacos, but you don't make much of a profit off of those anyway, and the AH is always giving enough stock for me, so it isn't worth it to level cooking that high. Either way, I'd need money for that, and I have about 160+ Kindred's Seals waiting in my MH... How about we organise a run sometime, Typotaru ? :p
It's no secret that I'm not particularly big on FFXI's quests and missions. It's almost been 2 years for this taru, and my opinion concerning most of these events is that they are very restrictive when it comes to party formations and play tactics. Despite the fact that I haven't made as much progress as others have in this space of time (as far as battle trophies/titles and storyline progression goes), up until now I've felt particularly under-rewarded for my past efforts. I'd expect anyone with sea access, and especially those who've beaten CoP altogether to feel greatly accomplished, especially after all the headaches and grief (and generally complete and total loss of funds) the process of climbing that ladder can inflict on people.
In any case congratarulations to ya, Typo sincerely means it! I'll one day be joining yas over there in {sea} as either meself or with catfriend Aleste, but for now I'll stick to once and for all putting my personal financial needs behind me before I commit to any more of CoP's many trials.
Meanwhile, Typo's chocolevel raised to 6~! That's a30, and this occurred at a faster time than a35. I'm convinced now that more than anything else, a smart chocodigleveler will attempt taru focus more on dig% rather than simply burning through stacks, or attempting to make money in dug out zones. I have new dig route: W.Ronf > E.Ronf > LaTheine(tele-holla). Each zone is dug for 15 mins before I move to next, giving me a nice fresh zone to plough through since their almost worthless item pools makes 'em unpopular with other diggers. By the time Typo returns to the first zone it is already fully replenished, and that wave of around 20 or so items ish all mine~ (*'-') It looks like things are really starting taru come together here. ^.^
Caniacat, if you'd like to start a journal, go right ahead! There's no prerequisites to follow, other than you give me a real cattymithracat to play with. Then Typo will sticky the thread for ya. ;3 *pulls Nicomo's face*

The Elemental ore "season" ish filled with digger-parasites - people who don't dig, never ever, but show up at just the right moon phase to infest the world for the sake of their ritual eledig. Fortunataruly Typo ish now able taru take advantage at me new level, although the presence of so many diggers in each zone for the next few hours will make it tough for me to level any further tonight.
Guess I'll just join in and have me an ore hunt. Typo not expect much, but at least if I can't level effectively tonight, I try my chances at putting something back in me pocket. ":3
Hau Jordan, welcome~ Typo is on Cerberus server, but for more info on where most people from here come from, you can visit the Player/World server list (Thread 13212). baibai!
Me ele ore hunt was over before it really got started, as the moon phases shifted out of ele-mode just as I started.
That didn'taru mean Typo couldn't find some bread elsewhere !;3
Todey the 4th marks exactly 2 years of Typotaru! I really couldn't think of much to say, so I have a nifty collage (maybe wallpaperish) planned as a little celebration, keke. Still busy with digging so it may be as long as this time next week (my estimation for a10) before I get a move on with that.
Tomorrow at some point will be ele-ore season again, and this time Typo plan taru take full advantage! Likely to reach a20 within the next few hours, how many ores will it be for diggertaru this time?
Two whole years... To think this time back in '03 I figured I wouldn't last any longer than 2 months! Hoho!~
Level up! A20 just minutes before the ele-ore cycle. ^.^

Not bad for 45 minutes of cut-throating it with 50 million JP digenthusiasts!

You are getting some nice stuff there Typo. Glad to see u doing well. Hey to Nicomo, Kristof, and Cania, good to see those names around too.
Just stopping in to say hi, maybe after this month I might have a chance to play FFXI for a lil bit.
Cya.
Saboak - Sh33p of Doom
Typo's grueling dig schedule continues, only now as a fully-fledged a10! The time I've spent getting this far was well worth it, and I plan on taking advantage of this new position while there's still money to be made from this craft~ Although I sometimes really, really want to get out there and return to being with me friends, battling and adventuring, I can't help thinking that it's for the greater good that I put this lingering yearning for money behind me first.
I've become ultra-picky over the past year, with my standards and expectations as to how I'm equipped rising to a level that I wasn't sure I could afford... Typo can finally feed that part of me nau, with the only draw-back being that I'll probably be doing this right down to Christmas. I'm a little embarrassed to say exactly how much I'm planning on earning, but you will all know once I have reached me target. ":3 I figure that 2006 will be Typo's time to shine, and experience all that I've been missing out on for such a long time; it's a little late, but better that than never, eh?
Ultra-sheep man Sarevok Saboak! Keke, you will definitely return. Everyone shows up here before they return, that means you too, Nico!

It's about time you catch up, Typotaru. I have finished all main storylines now. By the time you finish CoP, I'll finish Treasures of Aht Urhgan... >.>
I need to find something to do now... CoP was a huge part of my interest in the game now. I have been invited for the fifth time to join Insurrection... I'm considering it this time... Oh well, I told Inque I'd take a few days to think about it, I guess I'll give her an answer on our next Dynamis run.
In the next 3 weeks I'll be heading to England for the holidays, much like 2 years ago. I'm actually looking forward to it this time; family, old friends, cold weather (!!!) (I like being an ice cube, sue meh!) and a much-needed FFXI break.
I could exp now, as I've already made just about what I need for the time being, but it wouldn't be good for me to commit to MNK again, only to be interrupted by 2 weeks overseas... I'd probably lose interest again. So Typo will be spending the next couple weeks chocodigging and making some extra Gs, and when I return from the UK, it's time for TypoMNK to shine, baby!
Almost 2 months ago, a certain liltaru decided he would chocobo dig; chocodig as opposed to fishing or mining, which people already knew made Typo the spoiled brattaru he ish todey. Typo would get many strange looks, chuckles and giggles from others who knew nothing.
Nyeh, only kidding, children. I had given up on mining, birdcamping, and all other former "farming" activities I could think of. It was time for a new activity, a new fishing pond, a new volcanic dome, a new something that'd fill me greedy little paws with something more than what Typo would consider chocofeed. My desperation reminded me so much of this one time, pretty much an entire year ago where I found myself in a similar position after rusty cap fishing to padded cap synthing took a dive. I gambled with my remaining funds and began mining. I'd never done any research on the subject before, but I had heard on a forum and from a friend or two that anything worth (my time) digging would be found within the hottest depths of Vana'diel, and since there seemed to be absolutaruly zero info on the 'net about mining there at the time, Typo decided that the best way to find out would be to simply investigate for meself. Really, I had nothing to lose from trying!
Becoming intimate with those caves began an upward movement in my level of wealth, but at some point the economy turned on me, and I found that I was no longer making adequate funds taking into consideration the amount of time I'd spend daily inside that hole. After realizing that mining wasn't for me anymore, Typo would go through a few phases of just surviving on what I already had. I'm pretty sure that many people, including a large portion of my friends would have enjoyed the kind of money I had were they in my position, but I just couldn't stand knowing that I could do better- I just hadn't yet found the right method.
Since that time long ago, the first time I've felt secure about what I was doing was when I first looked into digging. Maybe it was because a catfriend was the one to introduce me taru the real world of digging, and show me what high level diggers see in terms of profits over a period of time... catfriends can be so nice. ^.^;; Typo would read digger log after digger log and memorize certain do'ses and don'tarus, patterns and other valuable information on leveling, and then it was time to get to it. Still, after all the research Typo knew nothing about digging. Everything about it ish fickle, and nothing you could explain thoroughly in just a few sentences. You can dig using one method today and come up with gil flowing from your nostrils, and use the same method tomorrow and lose everything you made today. After learning a hard lesson in leveling the craft, I used me own method of leveling which would skyrocket me to the highest level, a10, in record time. Maybe Typo should make video informercials and sell taru the public ?;3
Right then~ Sometimes, even when you believe you have something good, you don't really expect it to be "very" good, so in the same vein even though Typo knew I could make some gil through digging, I had no idea that real chocodigging could amount to this:

An average day at the auctions.
Boy, the chocodigging public sure ish loving me nau! *sweatdrop*
</center>
Thanks again, Blue~ <3
Diggers are very secretive people. It's like a clique, an exclusive insider society (mostly JP) who even withhold information from each other in order to get the better of their brethren in cutthroat fashion. Because I am a10, because I'm done making my 50million (Typo did promise I'd say it, yesh?), and because I'm on to Mr. orichalcum ore's spawn pattern to the extent that extra "competition" in Rolanberry wouldn't really affect me anyway, I feel safe posting that screenieshot~ Though I could have more, my patience has limited me. Not only that, but I've missed me friends and spending time with them, missed the grind, and everything else that goes on outside of my little world of dig. A SH+1 and HQ Snipers can wait. ";3 At least for now I can breathe a sigh of relief that Typo has finally found method numero quataru! (*'-')
Whenever the topic came up in conversation, or if I were asked a question about dig, Typo would usually give people an idea as to how much a yellow bird, backache and constant leg cramp (from constant digging, or course!) can do, and the natural (and understandable) reaction is, "bah gawd I think I'll dig too!" For all these people, Typo will repeat here what I've said to a few others in the past: the reality of chocodigging is that time ish the major factor that will get you places. Being able to put in an extra hour or two per day over a rival digger can mean the difference of you making it to level 'X' weeks ahead of the competition. This is important since all diggers in the same zone share the same item pool, and having even 1 digger (usually Japanese- ret's not forget, they've been digging way before us, and though you may not know it they still think they own the fields with their ruthless zonelining and other archaic practises!) besides yourself going for gold can often result in hours of digging for absolutaruly nada. The idea is to beat others to a level that can satisfy you financially, but I find that as these days go by, the number of active diggers running around per day increases exponentially. So, you want to dig try to have around 6 hours a day to devote to it, unless you don't mind spending the next 2-3 months trying to climb to a level where you can make more than your average crawler culler.

Typo "The Power" Taru Tarutaru's (wha? Everyone has a full name and in-quotes nickname! Mog "Hahn" Knight! Evad "I am a French-Canadian Paladin!" d'Aragon!) return taru the battlefield was interrupted at the request of a friend in need of my assistance on M5-1. Ja hoho, laugh nau, since all MNK at some point are called upon for this mission over and over. ":3 But in retrospect I'm glad it happened. "The Power" would get to help Rags and his group vanquish archlich boneheads before dinner, and head out to party later!
Off to Fei Yin~

</center>
Very well then. Archlich Taber'quoan (
) would be the first victim of The Power. Well, not exactly the power since it's a lv50 cap battle, and as such I wasn't really able to bring out me full arsenal. Having spent every last penny on higher level goodies and run out of patience for more consecutive days of dig, Typo was lucky taru be able to afford a CCcloak and other such sorry remnants of some other monk's auctioned off dirty laundry. Hundred fists and a few extra hooks here and there later, we put the bones to sleep and returned to Jeuno for some rest of our own- all except Typo, because I still wanted a pt!
...And so I waited.
You know those times when you've got nothing better taru do, you're bored and hoping for some excitement like a meteor shower, a Bret Hart comeback, or maybe that pt invite, when all of a sudden you notice something completely out of the blue that has nothing to do with anything at all?

</center>
Well, voila. Typo happened to spot her and couldn't help thinking that perhaps in a certain light on a certain day, a certain moonphase, and maybe if she wore catears... she'd be cute.
By the way, she's notacat.
I'm thinking sometime while I was trying to invision her as a kitty, Typo may have dozed off and missed a few invites. Oh well, I'd wake up to find another waiting for me, and like that, Typo was ready taru make his return!
If you've ever asked me, I'd have told you that I think MNK ish one of the (strongest) easiest jobs ever. How could it not be (themostpowerful)? What do we really do (damage), and how hard could it be (wemightaswelltankfull-time)? Ish just that, several weeks away from all civilization, not to mention that it's been at least 6 months since Typo punched something, really brings the rust outta the ol' veteran. I felt like I was going into battle with His Royal Dukedom again, as opposed to a simple Dragon's Aery exp situation. Fortunately for me, after a couple battles I felt right at home. ^^ Everything was as it should have been...

</center>
...and the thought of myself dealing more damage than my pre-dig self brought a haunting grin to the face of me temporarily rotting corpse. Just like when I returned to BLM for the last time, I didn't care how the first few pts went- Typo was just happy to be back in action, which is what I really wanted to say in this whole post! Kekeke.
Now, stepping gingerly back intaru the end game, DynamisLordHNMLS ish me first event linkshell in quite a while. The latest update includes the new Dynamis areas, and as Evad pointed out yesterday, how ironic it'll be that Typo's first Dynamis will be in a brand new area! I am looking forward to whatever awaits me~!

jimmeny cricket batman, did you say 50 million? jesus christ! typo typo typo... that's crazy... out of curiosity i looked up how much you could get for that if you were to sell it to a gilselling website and i laughed my littaruheart out...
please don't hataru me typo but when i quit a year and a half-ago i sold 1.6 million gil for just under $300 (enough to buy me an iPod) and gave away about 900k in gil and gear. Now people can buy 2 millinon for like $20 bucks. I can't possibly imigine what the AH prices are like anymore :( Talk about inflation. Again, please don't hate me typo, i'm sorry i sold gil >.< but i did give away 1/3 of my total assets, right?! anyways i am dumbfounded at your acomplishment in both the money and in the levels you're aquired. so, what 's it feel like to be the best dressed taru in the land mr. SH+1?
anyways, congrats again on your amazing acomplishment!! peace,
nico
ps - evad, thanks for wishing me good luck... this first semester was insane!! but only two more tests to go! Pretrial and Torts, neither of which present much of a challange for this taru! I thought you passed the bar exam months ago (at least, i read that i think)... why 3 more months til you're fully flegged? (i assume it is a difference between the canadian system and the US system?)
Evad D'Aragon

Nicomo, the bar in canada works differently in Quebec than with the other provinces.
The reason is that because our civil laws originate from the Napoleon Code in France, whereas our criminal laws originate from Common Law, in England. The other provinces draw both civil and criminal laws from Common Law.
Either way, here's how it works in Quebec :
The Bachelor's degree is 3 years in Law School at University, without any job training. I did work at a lawyer's firm during the summer between my second and third year, however. Completed it in april 2004.
The Bar is two semesters. Finished it in april 2005, but since I missed 3 exams out of 6 ( all of them by a mere question ; ; ), I had to retake them in may... I failed two out of three, one of them once again by a mere question... then I finally got the last two last July. If I would have failed any of those two I would have had to retake the entire bar. ; ; Luckily, I managed to pass them with above average grades in July. Talk about hard exams. Then I started the required 6-month internship in mid-august...
Now I'm four months into it, and love my job. Two more months and I'm a full fledged lawyer. My job training ends on February 10th and I will be assermented as a full-fledged lawyer on February 13th. ^^

Aww thankies, Nico^^, you know Typo could never hatearu you! The only thing I hate is that feeling of "if only I'd known about chocodigging earlier!" poping up unannounced and making me wantaru build a Typo time machine. ":3 Yesh the whole RMT situation is unfortunate, and I'm pretty sure there are alot more buyers out there these days than your regular working-class Vana'diel citizens. Oh wells.
How Typo feel? Well, as you can see from piccie, my neck and back are killing me. This is one of things which Typo, and all other taru for that mattaru should have against partying in Bibiki Bay! These giant giraffes will be the end of us, and you'd be surprised at how something so big and clumsy-looking can dodge a Typo bob and weave like it were coming from big fat galkaslow. :< Otherwise, it feels good to have this kind of money, not to show off, but just to feel comfortable when I'm out there in action. I like to know that in terms of equipment I can either only do slightly better, or no better at all for my current level range. For now as far as AH items are concerned, it's all thumbs up. ^.^ The feeling ish the same as back in the old days when I was walking the road as a BLM in Fungus Hat and nomad gear! Hoho~
Good to hear from ya, as always~! Hope you're doing well.
Meanwhile, it's been a changing few days for Typo. What I mean ish that I've been in Dynamis training (

). Lots of training (

)! ^O^ Sadly I found out at the last moment that I need to clear Pso'Ja and make it past Diabolos before I can enter a new Dyna-zone, and so Typo's initial Dyna-run has been pushed back to Sunday, when DLHNMLS (DL, huh... where've I heard that before...) will run through San d'Oria. I am excited, but oh so sleepy it doesn't translate too well to text. ;3

</center>
Since the beginning of this "Typo Power" era, it only took a few pt experiences to convince me to go for broke on items. Sometime in the middle of next week, I will have upgraded me SH and Sniper's. The +1 armor will be a great investment since it can be replaced when I eventually obtain an Osode, or Shura Togi~, making a welcome treat for me wallet when the time comes to sell.

</center>
Mag's a good PLD, bress his lil tarusoul! He couldn'taru stand up to the force or Mr.Yagudo, however, and ended up having to beg. Nyaha.
The dig continues, but with Riverne Site A01 tomorrow night, Dynamis on Sunday, and the final dig coming within the week, things are going to start heating up!

Unless I have something else, you can count on me to help you get through A01, and if you and Moggie have the time, I'll give you a hand with all the related stuff up until Diabolos. Either way, see you sometime this week-end.
I highly recommended to Lydya that we do our first "real" run with one of the easiest Dynamises, so this is why we're going to San d'Oria. Qufim is new for everyone, we just went there out of curiosity. We have many new members, so they need to get drilled.

Hmm... will I get PLD to 70 before Sunday? Doubtful X3 But I'll give it a shot anyways.

Don't worry too much about it Moggie. DLHNMLS should be around awhile, take your time. :p In the meantime, come and just chat, for while our main objectives are Dynamis and Limbus, we chat and may end up doing anything just out of boredom... like CoP missions. :p

</center>
Even after two years of travels and adventures of all sorts, sometimes it can still amaze me to just stop and take in the picturesque environment where I stand, no matter how many times I've gazed upon it before~ Even a stormy evening sky can capture the eye~ And, on this continent would be the location of our next mission. We would head taru Riverne Site A01 along with old Tavnazian acquaintances, Ulmia and "the abhorrent one" and Tavnazian leader, Prishe. The Cape Riverne had been destroyed, engulfed in floating rocks being eerily held in place by a mysterious energy. It ish here that the wyrmking Bahamut was thought to be in rest, and where many beasts would gather, following the aura of the majestical dragon~. It was Typo's first time going so far into the depths of the Tavnazian lands, and as excited as I was...

</center>
...I was more nervous than anything, going back to the days of robes and spells. At this point I couldn'taru remember what spells I would or wouldn't have! Yakk... In any case, Evad had come up with a plan earlier, that should we run into unexpected trouble would best involve me as a black mage, so Typo trusted his word and hoped to not give me former profession a bad name. Travelling through the Cape meant using these areas of light which Typocom identified as spacial displacements (
) to get around, and of course we would encounter creatures of all forms and masses, as well as a few wyverns that we destroyed on our way! They look much like the ones we have back home, but we would learn that those reflective scales of theirs contained the power to widen the displacements, allowing for passage through to another platform. Typowonder what it would feel like to punch intaru those dense scales...

</center>
After resting in the glare of a beautiful sunset, Evad and Lydya were able to quickly lead us taru the source of the Riverne disturbance, having taken this route before. Our team (
) had reached the summit, and prepared for possible ensuing battle! How exciting... maybe Typo would have been more comfortable in me kotes n' hooks!
Entering the final displacement, Typo immediataruly caught eye of those 3 toublesome tarurascals, as well as that strange hooded man I remembered from last year. Nag'mable'spancakes or something. It's remeniscent of something Zilart, or perhaps something else.. No doubt it was he who had summoned Bahamut, who appeared before us in an amazing flash of blinding light. Typocam was able to briefly swirl around behind and get this shot:

</center>
Rally, Typocam!
As they conversed, an airship revealed itself from behind a nearby cliff and deployed several hooded ninja pirates. ...Well the figures were at least hooded anyway. As quickly as they had appeared, they had encased Bahamut within a restricting rope of energy. Some of them surrounded Bahamut, 3 of them headed for us. Typocom scanned them all as "Mammet Epsilon" or something taru that effect, and before they could incur much harm, we put Evad's plan into action and disposed (
) of them without much trouble. As Typocam got that very, very awful shot of a Mammet crumbling taru his death, I couldn't help wondering that our MNK would have been quite the sexy as a kitty in that little number~
Before we could do any more, Prishe had found her way behind one of the remaining hooded men- knocked the bugger right out with a well-placed hook! Methinks she could be a MNK. As Bahamut broke free of his literal chains, Typo felt like I was going to collapse in a strange moment of cloudiness, and all I remember after the scirmish was his voice saying: "You will never break free from the chains of Promathia..."

</center>
South Gustaberg near the lighthouse...apparentaruly we were taken in the airship and dropped off here. As the thought ran through me mind I fully came to, looked up and spotted Prishe running after what was perhaps that very same ship! Typoback ached after the mission, so I let the others go on ahead of me, while I rented this so-so moogleroom in Bastok to update me journal. I've heard that girl has been harrassing the townspeople about the airship, so methinks I'll pay Cid a visit to investigate some more.
Ish been too long since Typo had a day like that! Something tells me there will be plenty more! rally~~

typo - good, i'm glad you're not madtaru at me >.< i dont know whataru id do... as this journal is how i get my ffxi fix since i've left and desperately... DESPERATELY want to return... woasme that souds good, thought the thought of a level 1 nicomo with 50 gil doesnt sound so appealing ><. anyways keep up the taru melee, you're making me soooo proud!!! though you are pulling off mnk much more than i ever pulled off drk, though i was lilke the 3rd NA taru drk to get full AF and guillotine! so that's my claim to fame i suppose... and sorry to jack your journal for a moment...but...
evad - interesting... as i'm sure you know a law degree here is 3 years as well, but it is not a bacholers, it is a doctorate, a juris doctorate (i'm not sure if this difference is one of vocab only). you have to have a bacholers degree (4 year) already to get into law school, is this the same in canada? so i graduated college this spring and will graduate law school in may of 2008 (woah long time :( ) but i will not need any job trainging or any internships to become a "fully fledged lawer", all i need is to pass the bar, which is only a 2-3 day test in most states. each state has it's own bar assocation but once you pass it in on jurisdiction, you're a lawyer for that state and all federal courts. anyways i thought i would take this oppourtunity to become enlightened about the canadian law system... from a fully (almost!) fledged lawyer! also what you plan to do as a lawyer (me, i plan on entering criminal law, though not sure in what capacity) perhaps you could private message or email me as to avoid cramping typotaru's style :) but i'd love to learn more about our great neighbors to the north!

Statue Depicting the "Lord of Chaos", Promathia.
Who would have thought that humble ol' Fungus Hatty would ever be speaking the name of Mr. Forbidden in me journal?</center>
I've always thought that FFXI's story was stronger than that of your average RPG, and certainly much more so than all previous Final Fantasy titles. My problems with missions though are the fact that I personally don't feel like my character is involved in much to do with the story. Silent heroes have that weakness of being given the kinds of fetch-quests and simple errand-boy tasks the likes of which compose most of XI's mission base. Your name will be mentioned a few times, but where are the cutscenes with you striking the final blow in critical battle? Do we actually do anything besides talk to people? We seem like second-rate CSIs. ;3 The BCNMs we experience aren't mentioned anywhere, and storyline names take all the credit for the victories. We in turn get a kindly hand-shake from our nation's leader, "Thanks much! We'll call again when next we could use you!" The commanding NPC is always the focal point of the story, pretty much making your character a mere inkblot in Vana'diel's history, no matter how many times you've defeated the Gods in sky, or trumped the mighty Vrtra in his cave. In any case, what does happen for real is still quite incredible. I've read a fair way into the CoP story and know how alot of it goes already, and I'm dying to see some of those latter cutscenes~
The other problem goes back to my signature complaint about being forced to be 100% dependant on others to get things done. This isn't a whiny complaint as in me wishing SE would change things, however. Instead I'm just pointing out what I think is a main contributing factor towards missions being executed in the rushed fashion that has become so common- a way that muzzles most of the fun and sometimes actually shuts out all of the significance of what you're supposed to be doing. Unless you're going with a group of people who are all experiencing it for the first time, this is how things are likely to be. That's my experience, at least. The boss battles, unless something truly massive (and obviously a key plot element) like Ouryu seem so unimportant, and I am only really able to catch up to things after I /shutdown and read about what I just did in the "History of Vanadiel" FAQ from gamefaqs. It's not always so bad, but it's a shame that it does happen. This doesn't stop me from looking forward to gathering with friends to run around and dominate, or sneak around in a seek-and-recover/destroy type mission, but it could be so much better still. Promyvion-Vahzl should be fun, and with that, it ish time taru get movin!
Piccies of the weekend's events, as well as what transpires in tonight's Promyvion will follow tomorrow~ (*'-')

</center>
Our continuing investigation of the phenomenon known as "Emptiness" has uncovered many points in Vana'diel's history, and led taru some unexpected twists. We have learned more about the Keeper of the Apocalypse, the Wyrmking Bahamut's purpose, as well as what prompted his awakening in the first place. We have discovered that our "mysterious boy", Selhteus, has been trailing us. Nag'molada has revealed more about the Zilart and the Kuluu...
"All Zilart were born into the world with the ability to communicate
telepathically, called the whisper of the soul. After a time, the
emptiness consumed some of the Zilart and they lost their gift. These
people were forced out of the capital, and became the Kuluu."</center>
We have been through so much in just a few days. Ish amazing how you can sit in your own little corner in life, mind your own business, and all seems rightaru with the world. Yet, such dark unspoken secretarus exist in our world... makes me wonder if all this would be happening if I stuck to chocodigging... ^^;; Imagine, from chocobos, suddenly thrust intaru a ferocious world of interdimensional serpent slaying?

</center>
In mere minutes from now, Typo will be joining in his first Dynamis expedition, an on-going tradition for hundreds of people over the last year or so in their attempt to curb the Emptiness. It'll be a unique experience- scary, fun and exciting all at the same time! Meanwhile, our investigation will continue shortly after Dynamis-Sand'Oria, or tomorrow afternoon.

If ya haven't already guessed I'm actually spending the holidays at home after all~ That means that Typo has been, and will be busier than expected! Today's quite the busy day obviously, but soon I'll be able to update everyone on our progress through CoP... at the rate we're going, we could be the newest "sea: O" people in Vana'diel! o.o;
Christmascat Cookie~

Haven'taru they learned by now not to just sit around all vulnerable like that ?_?
</center>
My poor journal! I hate to leave it so quiet, but between CoP and Dynamis, trips to Bibiki Bay, King Ramperre's Tomb and Ro'Maeve for more leveling, not taru mention all the Christmas cats who kept Typo well-exercised this holiday season, it's been awful hard to make it here and update! Welp, nau things are beginning to simmer down following the jam-packed vacation, and finally I can get to typing again! (Well, that'll be when FFS's servers quit playing around and wasting my time.)

</center>
Emptiness~Dynamis
From Promyvion-Vazhl to Dynamis, we've been spending plenty of time in limbo .-. From the time Dynamis came about Typo has had nothing but first impressions and second-hand information to go on. I missed the first couple runs since DynamisLordHNMLS got back up and running, firstly because I was finishing up me digging sessions, and also because I hadn't yet defeated Diablos to allow me into the new Dynazones. When the group was ready for San d'Oria, however, Typo was ready to see what it was like to box around in the dark~
Laggy. :3
'Course I was expecting that, although not quite at the magnitude of 1fps during battles ._. Once I take off enough settings and filter enough spam to make it more manageable, Dynamis is definitely something refreshing. Ish always interesting to see battle situations that aren't simple EXP party situations, or typical one boss HNM-type deal that require rather cookie-cutter PT setups. With different battle formations for different areas, PLDs (usually) appointed as callers to direct traffic, Dynamis ish pretty much a war between the allied forces of cats and noncats, and the Empty~ For that, Typo can definitaruly see what all the hype has been about! I'm not going to lie though, or omit the fact that my attention span isn't always the greatest X3 One hour's fine, 90 minutes okey, but after 2+ hours I find myself asking how all these guys and gals have managed to do this for an entire year now x.o?

</center>
After we defeat the boss I do usually stick around to help with af2 farming, speaking of which, Typo has picked up a pair of melee gloves (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=5016), and melee gaiters (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=5018) from Jeuno and Bastok. ^^ Wasn't expecting to see af2 in me hands so quickly, but that's what happens when there's not much job competition for the pieces !:o This is usually where it gets to 1hr+, since we usually dispatch the boss pretty quickly and get to the farming afterwards.

</center>
The End of the World~?
Every story's gotta have a point where the world ish at stake, right? So now we're not only trying to save Prishe, but we're really really going to save Vana'diel from Divine Promathia itself! The Shadow Lord wishes he were still on the throne to witness this. :<
I wonder how and why it is that people feel compelled to simply rush through text as opposed to taking their time and actually reading? I wonder how many people actually have a firm grasp on what's taking place as they go from mission to mission. :3 That beef aside, this portion of CoP's been quite fun! I don't usually approve of missions, but at least this time, especially with Snoll Tzar, SE have done something right. ;3 I actually had fun with that one, unlike most people. It took us a few tries, but we finally managed to slay the magicited bomb in rather hilarious fashion (
) a few nights ago! The piccie probably doesn'taru tell all, so just imagine Mr.Snoll (suffering from a little Requiem flu, kekeke) at 1%, then read our HP bars at the bottom of the shot~^.^
Here's some random Typosnaps from here n' there:~

First visit to Porungonugeonge island off of Bibiki Bay~ The manaclipper ride was relaxing. Got to talking with the cutsie misura tour guide- shared a fish with her too !^-')b

Dynamis in all it's glory? Keke, it may seem like alot of deaths, but they tend to make the best screenies. ;3 This LS ish too experienced to really give justice to the name "Dienamis"~ There's a Promy-V piccy at the end ftw.

Here ish me beating the marrow out of Bodach, the NM involved in me quest for Asuran Fists. Yesh, that means that Typo can now backflippy^.^/ Asuran Fists ish mine (
)! Boy has that been a long time coming- nu, you not get piccy until Typocam can get a decent image of the Typoflip. ._.
I also got me an OptiHat. I paid the BSTs of Bestienmeister their 2M fee to take me for a Hakusmash- *holds up a BMcard towards camera~* "Ish a no-hassle, reliable service for anyone who can afford it!" which is alot of people nowadays (if you know what I mean). ^-^ Maybe Typo should come up with his own business... I tried the whole kiss booth for cats onry thing in Jeuno, but they only want me in private (iykwim ;o), and I too innocentaru for that!
Anyways, good times. Three Paths has been defeated, and wouldn't you know it, tonight we're goin' for a lil' airship ride~ ;3
Hallo everyone, long time no see! Apparently FFS has had some problems recently, causing a slight rollback of posts. As a result a few entries are missing, but at least it wasn't a significant loss. I will find a way to back-up this entire journal because it means alot to me, as silly as it may sound, and I know many others out there would appreciate that it doesn't just get lost in space after I'm officially gone.
I didn't really think my last day on XI would be the very last, but that's how things happen sometimes. I ran into some problems with my junky computer (again), which helped lead to some money problems several months back. Unable to pay, I went without the game for about a month which affected my interest in pretty much everything Vana'diel-related in a big way. When I returned I focused mainly on Astral, a character that went unmentioned here, but was to go on to become 75 RNG someday. Upon reaching level 50-ish with her I came to a sudden realization that even if I did go all the way, I'd probably only be bored to death by end-game repetition (to make a long story short anyway). I guess for Typo, FFXI was all about the journey, the path to the top rather than the destination. I managed to make a mountain of gil, but that's about it. :X
Still I am happy with the 2+ years I put in, grateful and appreciative towards all the friends I've made and other characters I've met in my time! I've always been fairly awkward with words and even worse with goodbyes, so I won't really say anymore. :X
Nearly everday you can find me on AIM as chibiDL, and email is
[email protected].
Thankies to everybody for the last 2 years~ Good luck to all still playing, and I hope you enjoy ToA and all future additions for me. ;P
