Georg Haentzschel was a leading German film composer of the 1940s and 50s, specializing in elegant "light music". His most famous score
was for the classic adventure M�NCHHAUSEN with Hans Albers, one of the first German productions in color. This album includes the official
concert suite Haentzschel compiled from the score, as well as material from some other films. VIA MALA e.g. proves that Haentzschel was also capable
of producing a more dramatic, advanced score when required.

A personal "aside": On the night of April 12, 1992, the Rhineland region in Germany experienced a major earthquake, the first after more than 200 years. A friend
and I experienced it first hand (while we were watching Russ Meyer's Up!, which also included a good deal of vibration) - Fortunately, only one person in the
entire region died as result of that earthquake, of a heart attack. It was Georg Haentzschel! ;)

Yes, it is. It was quite a quake, too: The top floors of our house suffered long cracks in several different walls.
