The list is still under construction.
I work every day to fix everything, but it takes some time.
Therefore I ask for your understanding.
Thank you!
Since Zodiacmaster hasn’t been on the forum for over a year (let’s hope he’s fine), it’s time for a new Lossless VGM thread.
Jessie suggested this solution in the old thread and I was thrilled with the idea to take over this task. And here we are!
All lists/links from the previous thread (Thread 126974) have been added here. I will update all misdirecting links and add all those posted after August 20, 2018.
Of course, not only are soundtracks posted in this thread, but also in the forum itself. I’ll try to add lossless Soundtracks that were not posted in this thread to the list as well. But since this is a lot of work, I will give priority to the soundtracks posted in this thread.
Should it happen that you find a link to a soundtrack that can’t be downloaded anymore, you are welcome to ask for a reupload. There’s no guarantee,
but asking doesn’t hurt of course. Best with the link to the respective post of the soundtrack. And please try to remove the pictures if you prefer to quote
the respective post.
Even if there is a lot to discover here, there are rules here as well. So there are soundtracks of different kind which are not allowed to be shared here in the forum. Please take this into consideration. Here is a list: music that may NOT be posted for legal reasons. (Thread 49829)
Of course there are also games that don’t have official soundtrack albums. In such cases you can use the music files of the games and convert them.
Here on this page https://vgm.hcs64.com/ you will find countless of these files.
And for converting you best use Foobar together with the following components:
https://www.foobar2000.org/
https://www.foobar2000.org/components/tag/game+music
https://www.foobar2000.org/encoderpack
The names of the Soundracks correspond to their names on ‘VGM Database’. If you are not sure about the name, visit the page: https://vgmdb.net/
FAQ
(From the old thread.)
~~Credits goes to 運命の潮 (forums.ffshrine.org/members/-and-36939-and-21629-and-12398-and-28526–574936) for providing information on Macintosh stuff.
I’m new to extracting files from a CD, how should I best approach it?
For Windows use Exact Audio Copy, and also read this guide (Thread 91868) to make sure your rip is done properly.
For Macintosh, X Lossless Decoder (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23430/x-lossless-decoder) is your best bet. Here is a guide (redsun990.blogspot.de/2012/11/xld-guide-first-you-need-to-download.html) to get started with the program.
For Linux, Rubyripper (code.google.com/p/rubyripper/) is your best bet.
What is tagging and which programs should I use?
Tagging is the process of applying or editing information of a music file. Things such as album name, artist and song name are metadata information known as "tags". It’s a must when working with an official soundtrack in order to provide the proper information. Since you would need to type-in the information by hand for each file otherwise, a proper tagging tool can save a good amount of time.
As for recommended programs:
Windows: MP3 Tag (www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html) or foobar2000 (www.foobar2000.org/) (be sure to check through the available plug-ins (Thread 126974)).
Macintosh: X Lossless Decoder (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23430/x-lossless-decoder) will do the job just fine, but in case it’s not sufficient for your needs, give Tag (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/21641/tag) a try. You can use xACT (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/14246/xact) for adding CD cover images to lossless files (You can use XLD to check if the images have been applied correctly).
For information about official soundtracks, check out VGMdb (vgmdb.net/). There is a freedb server (vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2618) as well. Depending on the program, you can set it up to fetch information from its database automatically instead of typing all the information manually.
Which archive program should I use?
For Windows, any archiving program does the job in theory. However in practice the two most-common programs used are either WinRAR (www.win-rar.com/) or 7-Zip (www.7-zip.org/). Personally, I don’t see any superior advantage for WinRAR, so don’t waste money on that and go with 7-zip instead.
For Macintosh, things are a bit different. There is no ultimate program that does extracting, compression and split-archive creation all in one. Also, when creating an archive on Mac, system-specific files such as DS_Store might be accidentally included – some archivers will omit them when archiving automatically.
Entropy (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/38116/entropy) Can create .rar files, make split archives, and supports several formats. It also removes mac files (ds_store).
CleanArchive (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/17207/cleanarchiver) has a simple drag and drop interface with the option of a password. The only formats you should use is either zip or 7zip (does not de-compress). Keka (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/32512/keka) is a similar app.
Both Zipeg (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23378/zipeg) and Archiver (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/26058/archiver) are good for extraction-only.
On a side note, if you end up with .tak files on Mac, things might get tricky. XLD can handle it if you use Wine, but OS X 10.7 and below can support these with XLD and Wine, but 10.80 and up cannot.
I have an image file/I want to convert a music file from one format to another. What program should I use?
For working with image files, use either EAC or Cuetools.
No matter what other people might say, NEVER use Medieval Cue Splitter, for it creates imperfect results. See here for a test that proofs it (www.hydrogenaud.io/forums/index.php?showtopic=57563&st=0&p=683198&#entry683198).
There also is Xrecode (xrecode.com) which can be used for both image and file format conversion.
Which filehoster should I use to upload my files?
First and foremost, NEVER ever use so-called cloud storage services like Google Drive or Dropbox. The chances of the files being reported and deleted are very high there, so don’t think the files can survive there for long.
MEGA is your best option nowadays, a good second option is Mediafire.
What should I keep in mind when uploading my files?
First and foremost: When posting links here in the forum, DO NOT paste your links as plain text, but use the [URL] formatting instead. Otherwise links are treated as normal text and can be seen by non-registered users – and links are not shown to non-registered users for a reason.
Use a password for your archive files, this way a filehoster can’t check the content and might delete it. When using 7-Zip, make sure to check "Encrypt file names" – this will prevent anyone from seeing the content unless they type in the password.
Don’t call your archive filenames after the game they’re from. Don’t use the artist or the developer/publisher either. Use either an abbreviation (for example: Vagrant Story becomes VTSY) or a name that sounds like a normal thing (for example: "Zodiacmaster’s Throne" might be the name of a track from a soundtrack, but individual track names are less obvious than the game name itself).
The same goes for links of course: Call them "Part 1" or "Download" but not after the game itself.
Use a link anonymizer so that the referral of a link posted here won’t trace back to this place. Good websites for this job are anonym.to, lix.in and safelinking.net for instance.
A special note on Mediafire: Don’t use .rar archives there, they’ll block split-archives. However 7-zip split-archives work, so use that instead.
A recent development of some filehosters is that they’ll block all sorts of split-archive files, period. I don’t know which one do this or if this is just Mediafire, but in case you encounter one, remove the file extension from your files. This way the user has to add the file extensions manually, which is the least of his troubles at the end of the day. It’s still better than a blocked file.
Any other tips or recommendations for posting links in this thread?
Due to human psychology and laziness, people tend to recognize and maybe even prioritize a post with an image rather than a text-only post. Visual tops informal on the internet sometimes, after all.
Therefore, post an image of the CD cover or the game cover along with your links. It has become the norm for most people anyway, so try to do it as well if possible. Providing a VGMdb link would be helpful as well.
Also, remember the Netiquette: It’s ok to ask for a reupload or request once, you can even ask for several games at once but don’t overdo it. And if you’re quoting an old post for your reupload request, don’t quote it fully if it’s very long. Usually the first image and link from a multiple game post is enough, people can always click the quote and check the full post on their own anyway. Fullquotes of such lengthy posts, however, makes it difficult to navigate through the pages otherwise.
This one is Mac-specific: When working with applications or archives, the OS will build up inactive memory which will slow the computer considerably if left unchecked. You can use iStat Pro (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/20364/istat-pro) to check your system’s memory usage.
Inactive memory is meant to keep RAM active "just in case" you decide to re-open an app. However, you will experience freezes/hangs if it does not purge itself. So try using Purge (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/39777/purge) every once in a while, and use iStat Pro to see the difference. You’ll also notice a difference in fan speed.
Last but not least, remember to thank an uploader if you’re grateful for a specific and/or rare upload. If you don’t want to post every time, at least click on the "Like" button at the bottom-right of a post.
Can I post gamerips here?
It depends. This thread is for music that is of best quality aka lossless. Therefore, a line-in gamerip or a rip based off some MP3 files are not acceptable. If you have those, post them in their own thread but not here.
That said, sometimes a game never received an official CD release or the one released only has a part of the whole soundtrack, but not everything. In such a case, a good gamerip can be a good addition to one’s collection.
The following criteria must be fulfilled for a gamerip to be listed here:
The source files used for the gamerip must be at least somewhat-high quality. With that I mean: WAV, OGG or an audio stream format.
It must be properly-tagged (don’t leave them as their source filename (i.e. "file0001") but give them a name one can associate with the game somehow.) Don’t be afraid if your naming scheme or the artist information are wrong, anything is better than just providing the extracted files as-is.
It must be in FLAC or another lossless format. If you have .wav files, please convert them as they’re too big.
On the following page you will find countless gamerips, always worth a look: vgm.hcs64.com
I can’t play a format with my player/the format is not supported on my OS. What to do?
For Windows (and to that extend, via Wine), there exist converter programs like xrecode (xrecode.com/). There may be others, but this is the one I use myself, it is free and works well.
Someone posted a single image file and I don’t know how to turn it into separate music files. Help!
Again, xrecode (xrecode.com/) is your friend. You may use other programs for doing this, but whatever you do, DO NOT USE Medieval Cue Splitter as it creates inaccurate results (www.hydrogenaud.io/forums/index.php?showtopic=57563&st=0&p=683198&#entry683198).

MEGA is your best option nowadays, a good second option is Mediafire. If you can’t use either of those websites for whatever reason, other decent places are Depositfiles and Zippyshare.
I was reading the FAQ and just wanted to say that Zippyshare should actually be avoided, since it has a file life of 30 days after no activity. You want to avoid dead links, not encourage them.
Hoping to see it grow even bigger than the last one =’3
surely became bigger 🙂
But i think you should not keep the old links:
– there are tons of dead links
– after all they belong to the v2 thread
One last thing i would like is less requests in this thread, there is a whole forum section for this.
Goog luck.

I beg to differ. Many requests would otherwise go unseen if not posted here. Every request I’ve filled has been posted here, for example.
The Lossless Video Game Soundtrack thread is dead, long live The Lossless Video Game Soundtrack thread.
Hello !!
If I can help…
I discover issue on those two below
TAITO DIGITAL SOUND ARCHIVES -ARCADE- Vol.1 is Offline
TAITO DIGITAL SOUND ARCHIVES -ARCADE- Vol.2 link is not going to the exactly post that is here
Thread 186891
and anyway is offline too..
Cheers!!! and thank You for the hard work!!!
[EDIT] I thought I’d plug a few soundtracks I just posted, and rare one I found a while ago.

Links in the OP still needs a major overhaul which I hope you plan on doing, dead links, etc.
(Removed Zippyshare from the FAQ)
I copied the FAQ directly from the old thread. Maybe I should rewrite it completely, but for now other things have priority.
Good idea to have a new thread.

It would be much easier for me if we started the list from scratch, yes. Nevertheless I would like to update the whole list.
As I mentioned in the entry thread; I will add all those soundtracks posted after August 20, 2018 and update all misdirecting links.
I can point out in the opening post that there is a separate section for requests. However, there will always be people who will post their requests here.
I beg to differ. Many requests would otherwise go unseen if not posted here. Every request I’ve filled has been posted here, for example.
Right, that’s the other thing. How many people actually check the request section of the forum to see if there’s anything new?
Even worse is when people fulfil the request but only in the Requests section, but not the Download Links section. I’ve seen it happen on occasion.
Additionally to the short Shelf-Life like SR said, you can not access Zippyshare
from the UK, Denmark, Germany and Spain anymore without a VPN…

I’d argue that a game’s native filetypes should be preferred over conversions. No sense bloating .vgm’s, .at3’s, etc. into .flac when it’s going to be the same quality. Yes, it’s less compatible, but you save on bandwith usage and there’s no shortage of components for foobar/winamp to play/convert them anyway.
On that note, could you add vgm.hcs64.com to the faq as a place to check for gamerips? Might spare a few requests.
Added for now to the FAQ. But I will update the FAQ and sort it better as soon as the other thing is done.

I was planning on recording the vinyl of Skies of Arcadia Eternal Soundtrack but I can’t quite record it in Hi-res yet.
I added spoilers to the list of individual games. Means: Each group of letters itself is in a spoiler.
Example:

Soundtrack 2
..
[B]

Soundtrack 2
..
And so on.

I also added some soundtracks/links from the old Lossless v2 thread to the list (not done yet lol).
(I’ll make the lists more beautiful, clearer and orderly as soon as I’m done adding the soundtracks.)

I still have a lot to do and I’ll hurry as best I can.
I hope you will like it in the end.

DEFINITELY add links to hcs/josh’s rips! It would really solve a lot of issues and is enough for users who use Foobar or another player with inputs.
That being said, I do FLAC conversions for some chip formats (usually at a request, and on my own thread) because it’s much simpler for people with music libraries on multiple platforms who don’t want to muck about with RockBox, Foobar, Winamp, and/or other programs to manage different formats, or just for the simplicity of uniformity. It could be considered a waste of space, but that’s becoming less of an issue, plus the converter could remind others of the hcs rip, if a user were to prefer the original format.
EDIT: Oh, Chrono replied that it was added literally right after you posted… missed that. 🙂
Thanks for reminding me, I wanted to change it again. This is now on the first post:

@NeoKilling you could contact the OP of this thread to let him know, just in case 😉
I wasn’t sure if I should put it under "#" because it’s written ".hack", but "H" makes more sense.
Everything else (also mirrors of course) will be added bit by bit.
I don’t want to separate between "series" and "individual". Hope this won’t bother anyone when it’s done.
Don’t worry, I’ll make sure everything’s organized.
Otherwise it was more about him uploading some stuff already available than you having to scrutinise the whole forums for links.
It would be even cooler that all active lossless releases were indexed in this thread but that would be so time consuming,
I’m not sure Doc Brown would have enough fuel to let you travel through time so many… times XD
*tries to wipe this drool out of your exceptional face*
First I will put the collected links from the old thread into the new list and then I think about what I will do next 😀
They really are broken so @Chrono Meridian might want to remove them later when organazing things.
As for the name I also think it’s better to place it at "#" or maybe "D" and keep the series name as ".Hack" or "dot Hack". I don’t know which would be better.

NAAAH!!
I meant to say that the title isn’t starting with the H from HACK, but the "." (dot).
Hence placing it into the "#" category ;D
At least the current links, the rest will follow.

Friendly word of advice, you should use FLAC level 8 compression to save more space. I compared your rips to mine and yours are 62 MB larger while being the same quality, and I got the same size as mine after re-converting with level 8 FLAC. Just a little life hack to give you extra space for "free"!
So after ripping and converting to FLAC, I should do so again? I already ripped them with level 8 in first place.
No, you didn’t, because when I reconverted the files they were smaller. You must have used level 4 or something. You only need to convert to level 8 once.
Yeah I’ve noticed. I think that first Piano Arrange is a transcode; it’s identical to an mp3 rip i had picked up earlier. Then again >piano so maybe it is legit after all. The 2nd one is definitely lossless though.

He might be using the older binaries/version. When was the last update anyway?
not my rip (FLAC, cue + log + scans)
VGMdb info (https://vgmdb.net/album/455)
https://mega.nz/#!8Hhx2DKJ!edVDvohUdX3MjR7Omu9qzii_GZD84VLzOqdVpMeUPlYThis is one of the more rare Sakuraba soundtracks. It’s actually an arranged album; the game never had an official OST release. Enjoy!
He might be using the older binaries/version. When was the last update anyway?
Ah, you may be right. I’m using 2.0 or whatever myself, I think from 2014. The newest one is from 2018 I think, though I’m not sure if dbpoweramp has that version. It uses pre compiled .dll’s for some odd reason lol.
Really? That’s weird. Foobar just has the codec .exe in the encoders folder. I thought that was the norm since I’m pretty sure cuetools does the same. I’d been meaning to pick up the new version; curious how much space I could save thanks to the improvements.
I do remember finding them together, so I don’t think it’s a transcode.
But it’s difficult to know just by looking at Spek or similar programs because the frequencies are so low since there’s only piano.
Pity that I don’t have the log for the first collection like the second one.
I’ll update my post if I find a better rip.
Thanks for stepping up Chrono, I completely stopped checking links on the second thread due to the "dumbfu"… I mean "inconvenience" of someone with low attendance in the forums.
That ship has sailed, hopefully this one stays for the long run!!! Even though I hate this fucking site and it’s owner I love the lossless vgm section (and the bemani thread, of course).
By the way, I know that the individual list was A-N and O-Z before, but saving the edit has always taken forever.
The same for the series list. That’s why I had to restructure it.
Almost all remaining links are now in the list, not many are missing.
And with the alphabetical ordering I have already begun.
Then all links will be checked and fixed if necessary.
I’ll let you guys know as soon as I’m done with all.
And I hope I only need one more day for that.
But first I really need some sleep, lol

Hey everyone. I know there’s already a Samus Archive FLAC rip here (Thread 219240), but since there’s no logs and it wasn’t in this thread yet, I decided to put my own up here just in case, with logs, scans and everything.

Beware everyone, these logs are modified.
Can you please upload the unmodified logs? A rip with modified log is meaningless.
If not, I can upload the rips I have, they’re 100% logs and cue and are not modified.
Care to explain? I never got that.
btw, thanks for sharing those MasterJJ.
If not, I can upload the rips I have, they’re 100% logs and cue and are not modified.
Please upload yours in that case if possible! I wouldn’t risk it with the other links! Thanks in advance! 😀
Can you please upload the unmodified logs? A rip with modified log is meaningless.
How did you verify this? Was there a checksum mismatch or something? I haven’t checked myself, but I guess I should start doing that.

I’d like that.
An edited log is as bad if not worse than having no log at all. The rip is untruthfully represented in one way or another due to the ripper/uploader editing the log for whatever reason, whether it’s to conceal their personal information (such as username present in the folder structure) or to fake a good rip by editing the info that denotes such.
I’ll upload my rips soon, just setting up my new Switch (so excited!)

Use EAC’s CheckLog.bat or whatever it is (I made a batch file and put it in my SendTo right-click context menu for easy log checking)

Lethal League Blaze Switch gamerip. It is a fighting game which I believe to be a spiritual successor of Slap Happy Rhythm Busters from PSX.
The OST is very funky, all tagged properly

THIS. That was my fault. I will try to reupload the unmodified logs. Sorry about that, I’m a purist.
Aha, I feel your pain then! Many times I’d re-rip a CD because I didn’t like the folder structure in the log file.
I appreciate you being honest about it and will hold off on uploading my rips to give you a chance to re-rip and reupload yours. 🙂
Thanks internet for these sanity checks. I’m still fine!

:O I don’t believe it. Thank you so much!
when posting a soundtrack. Or alternatively post the corresponding vgmdb link to it. The reason is that some titles in the list don’t match
the vgmdb title. And I don’t like that, lol. Thanks!

What about gamerips that do not have vgmdb list, bro?
In this case, depending on the possibility, simply use the official English title of the game.
Too bad that such downloads are not active forever, but it’s understandable why.
Too bad that such downloads are not active forever, but it’s understandable why.
Are you keeping the album names (perhaps without the link or strikethrough) so people can see what albums have been available and show it’s likely someone on the forum might still have it lossless? It seems like a shame to just delete them from the list.
btw, thanks for sharing those MasterJJ.
Guess I’ll never be able then to put here my personal rips of my personal GM collection (although most of them were already shared many times at the shrine).
LOG + CUE is still a mystery for me even following the EAC guidelines that a known user posted here somewhere. The sound quality seems more important I guess.

Thanks for the infos. This is serious! I just count on my ears to spot fake FLACs. Is there another way?
Good idea, actually, that’s how I could do it.
Maybe "- DOWN" next to the link or something. I will then check if there is a mirror of a soundtrack, here in the forum.
But before I do anything else, I have to go over the names, fix links etc. Then comes the next step.
At least something that indicates the link is not working anymore.
Wasting time cheking those old adf.ly links that leads to nowhere is horrible.

If your eac is set up as per the guide by vegeta from this forum, you’re actually encouraged to post your soundtracks here since they will produce a 100% log. As for your question on detecting fake flacs: you already quoted me talking about edited logs, so, that. Exactly that.
Makes me feel old lol.
Thanks a lot for stepping up and organizing the new thread Chrono.
It is greatly appreciated.

Haven’t been able to find these using the search function in the previous thread but I saw other NFS and Wipeout games there so I figured asking for these would be worth a shot:

Wipeout 3
If anyone is able to upload any of these that would be fantastic!
SEGA SYSTEM24 SOUND COLLECTION (Thread 126974) – DOWN
If the original uploader uploads it, the old link will be replaced. If someone else uploads the soundtrack, it becomes a mirror.
If you can be sure that the original uploader won’t come back, for various reasons, then the mirror becomes the main download.
At least that’s the first thought.
Although I’m checking everything myself right now.

I have tried to download them, but sadly when unzipped a lot of zip archives were corrupted so not extracted correctly. Then I have tried to download them seperately (because if you download all the folders with MEGA DOWNLOADER there is no folder at all all the files are mixed up) and it was the same a bunch or errors. Is it me or does these files were uploaded in a bad way?

I was about to request a reup of Einh???nder, but random web search led me to this ( "https://archive.org/details/einhandersoundtrackflac"). Is it good? Can someone verify?
In case of torrents there are no dead links you can’t verify unless you follow them, archives, split archives, file sharing hosting limitations, stupid passwords etc.
You don’t need to unpack anything and file integrity is provided via protocol.
Once you download anything you immediately become a full seed and give back to the community even if you never share any new stuff.
Pair it all with a decent tracker (think RED or GGn). You’ll get some upload rules to unify shared content. You’ll get fully working search (by album, year, artist, genre, you name it). You’ll get a request system. You’ll get RSS notifications, auto-snatching capabilities. You’ll get an automated log checker.
VyseLegend is a genius in this regard to share his uploads via nyaa.si (which is totally open and even has a dark theme!). Respect.
It’s not that I’m not grateful for your uploads, but int general it’s all a huge mess, pile. It’s hard to manage piles.
EDIT: Pass – Vorpal_Reaper
This was around the same time That ‘Gravitrek’ was announced to be in production, but never left beta after years and was abandoned by a japanophile who traded his passion for conformity. Anyhow…
Basically as you say, torrent is decentralized and thus redundant. But there are two major downsides. One is there is a good chance you’re being dinged by the copyright cartel for everything you download (even if you use proxy and various tricks). Though this isn’t a guarantee that you will be sued but its a known downside and built-in risk.
Second, there are almost always more leechers than seeders. The more popular the item, the more seeders and longer life of the torrent, in nearly all cases. In my case, the great majority of my torrents went underseeded before long but remain functional at a subsistence level and are rarely abandoned but this is simply due to my dedication. Generally the same pattern that applies to all public tracker type things.
A bonus is that all of the download and upload counts are easily and publicly visible and searchable for all torrents and users, as long as they are being updated still.
I do not think an invite only private tracker is a good alternative since they always descend into major leech-centric scenarios, especially if they cater to popular mainstream content. Also managing community and sharing responsibilities is a nightmare honor system which will always be gamed to maintain membership. The only ones Ive seen that legitimately work are BakaBT and Rutracker, because they were both or are free to join at most points in their life, making them basically a specialized subject-specific public tracker. (In this case RUtracker can be classified as specializing in Japanese media, but in reality it also has become a hub for numerous other niches)
In my view the best combination is what is here – a free and open web/forum community referencing a free and open tracker (or alternative a private community referencing private links or public links in secret). That way one can be destroyed or removed but in either case they can be rebuilt and re-locused; only a military-grade copyright squad MEGA’ing everyone at once could really disrupt that (well, its possible in this day and age but not very likely) And as we know, Nyaa went down once and it was rebuilt on two different forks which both persist today.
This site has been the closest thing to a "BakaBT for VGM" since it began but I think its clear that this site would become a much bigger magnet for copyright vengeance if it were a public tracker instead. That said lots of private arrangements and contacts have been made where users on here are already coordinating behind the scenes and have essentially mirrored all the content on here on their own and would be able to reconstruct it a la carte.
So are download listings irrelevant now? No definitely not, but just don’t expect them to stay around for long, but hasn’t that always been the issue with them? Its true that navigating and collating the data on this site has and always will require a good amount of legwork but google, bookmarks, subscriptions, etc. can help with that. I just think having a heterogenous and organic system like this is the organic way of doing things, centralization be damned.

I really enjoy working on the list and to be honest, without Google Spreadsheets
and a special extension I probably wouldn’t have got that far half as fast.
I don’t want people to think it was a bad idea to leave me in charge, so I want
to make sure that as many people as possible like it.
Of course, at some point the forum might have disappeared completely,

Not sure how I missed your post the first time around. Thanks very much.
I know that the two Banjo-Kazooie soundtracks ("Complete Video Game Soundtrack" [PCCG-00486] and "BK Beta’s") are down because Grant took all his Nintendo-related soundtracks off Bandcamp.
I managed to snatch his "Everything and the Kitchen Sink!" (https://mega.nz/#!O9VBDAaY!optACHlGahLzYtjB09rhOfhoOOrrxmd-5bRDtcv3jZM) release of the soundtrack in FLAC from his Bandcamp before it went offline if anyone is interested in that, though.

@OmegaBlade – The links for your Ar Tonelico stuff still seem to be working; I picked up a few of those while I was looking for the ones I had mentioned earlier.
Thanks, but you should thank all the others. I’m just the organizer here
I’m trying to think of the best way to do it, but the basic idea behind is it. Open to everyone, but still requiring a basic registration process. Some incentive for uploading, maybe a faster server for uploaders but that would provide it’s own challenges. Open to suggestions and also open to help particularly on the coding side of things. From a systems administration point I get by, but web design and in particular databases, not so much.
Pleasantly surprised to see this place is still quite active, but if we lose ffshrine there’s really nothing readily accessible. The difficulty to get in to places like RED and the difficulty to maintain a ratio without spending money make it pretty inaccessible to most, especially people here. I’m all about sharing the Music, but it has to be done in a way that’ll stand the test of time. There’s definitely a lot less sharing in the modern internet and private trackers are not the answer.
For any who want to just download each CD.

It sounds laudable but also at the same time, possibly overambitious. Firstly, this was tried with Gravitrek and as we know, it was abandoned because it was too big of a task for one man. It sounds like without sufficient dedicated staff and time/energy, you will end up with either an uninhabited disused community due to easier free options elsewhere, or a Demonoid (abandoned because the 1 person running it died). Basically what I’m saying is you’re better offer separating community and torrent databases. Look at Nyaa as an example for a torrent database, no need for any servers for seeding, its basically one big torrent database. And you can create a VGM community by having a good functioning forum software like Vbulletin which makes things easy. Any platform that ties community aspect into seeding aspect ends up running into copyright hounds shutting it down, or privacy and censorship taking over and thus leading to an enervating effect like with RED/What.cd/BakaBT (to an extent) and many more. Basically you could try and create your own version of this site but make it out to be about torrents rather than ftp uploads hit and runs.
Basically you would still be relying on existing public trackers though and don’t know of any good ones for non-japanese media.
Using an existing tracker with a fairly decent track record like Nyaa makes sense, but there’s some things I dislike about Nyaa. I’d be reliant on their infrastructure, it has went down in the past and at one point I’m pretty sure it was actually ‘dead’ for a while. The other is that it’s TOO OPEN, this might sound counter productive when I’ve mentioned I’m about sharing the Music, but I also like the community building aspect of ffshrine. I think that’s one of the reasons it’s still active. Uploading to thankless leechers on Nyaa doesn’t seem to encourage people to upload, but I know there is people that do just that. The site would still be open to everyone, but you would need an account to download anything. There would be no ratio rules or anything. I just think this would be a better system than entirely open and a bit easier to safeguard from a legal and security perspective.
I’m in talks with someone who has a history of hosting sites that are tricky from a legal perspective. The site would most likely be based in Lithuania though I’m still considering all options.
To touch back on Nyaa. The problem with Nyaa is that as the years pass torrents become dead. There’s nothing worse than finding that album you were looking for and it’s not being seeded. The idea of having a server or servers seeding the files is that nothing would ever really die. This comes with it’s own challenges of course, particularly storage space and might not be entirely feasible without collocation.
I’m just playing with the idea. There’s part of me that thinks it’s a bit ‘too late’ to run a site like this especially as people are becoming less interested in physical media. (and as such less ripping) More and more soundtracks and albums are having web releases.
I like the idea of integrating it in to a forum, though. Something like this would be neat.
I really should have made my own thread for this, but I didn’t want anyone think I was trying to poach people from the site. If the admins of ffshrine were interested I’d work with them to make it happen here, but something tells me that won’t happen. However, there’s no guarantee people would even use a new site anyway. We’re creatures of habit especially us ‘older people’. I haven’t commited to anything yet, but I think it could work.

I would love to have it in my Collection, one of the few Treasure Game OSTs that i have never stumbled upon online.
I join the request, hoping for years that someone would share this soundtrack.
I’m always on the prowl to pick up something rare that the community wants when I have a bit of money, but that’s a little over my budget… >.>
This is such a phenomenal soundtrack! It was one of the first ones that got me into gameripping because of the unavailability of OSTs.
I’m interested to hear the bonus piano tracks. And also just get a reliably good rip of it in general; I never did find one of the original release that I thought was very good.
I would love to have it in my Collection, one of the few Treasure Game OSTs that i have never stumbled upon online.
Do you guys even got a proper rip at all for this album ? i see the mp3 versions floating around the web are not the real deal.
Redundancy would become an issue as well. You’d want what few seeders you have to be on the same torrent rather than spread amongst multiple alternatives. Personally, I don’t seed because of how I store music; I back it off to discs/external drives to keep plenty of space on my main drive (which is both ancient and small). Even if I did keep it, I probably still wouldn’t seed because of how it’s delivered. A zipped album is useless for casual listening, an image rip where I need to load the cue isn’t as accessible as a split track rip. Hell, even folder names become an issue, cluttering up your downloads folder, because some stuff is named by artist, or just album name, or album name followed by year. Some put the year first, some order by series, some use kana/kanji, others use the english name. If you torrent an artist/series discography and a new album is released, you probably now have 2 folders for the same subject, unless the discography person adds it of course. I rename everything to suit my liking/system, and consequently can no longer seed it.
You’d best make your own thread, we’re already way off topic.
Seconded!
You’d best make your own thread, we’re already way off topic.
This can all be solved with disc cataloging program or Spotlight, buying more drives, and keeping a well organized folder structure. I have many TB of data from music to others and there isn’t much confusion, and also I tend to seed, however there is a limit to what I can do since I literally have 1000s of torrents.

This is his rip, uploaded with his permission: I set up EAC properly on his desktop over Teamviewer and wrote up a guide on how to properly rip CDs, and also did all the tagging. However, this rip would not have been made possible without Cameron1391’s copy of the soundtrack and his willingness to help, so please direct any and all thanks to him!
Scans sourced from VGMdb.
@bssg uploaded their rips here (Thread 95649) and here (Thread 95649).
I decided to mirror them on Mediafire along with the others, so credits to them.

Unfortunately, some of the games (Yakuza 4, Yakuza: Dead Souls, Yakuza 5, Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin!) never got a lossless soundtrack release.

Wise choice indeed to link the Ryu ga Gotoku Collection links rather than the old Lossless Thread links, as I’ve been meaning for too long to update the WAV files for Ryu ga Gotoku Zero: Chikai no Basho / Yakuza 0 with tags now that I have since learned that foobar2000 can persuade the format to accept 日本語 characters (Assuming the fact it can’t isn’t an issue limited to the version of dbPoweramp I use). While I still hope to someday get around to providing my own CD-rips for the series (Especially with the updated localisation for the Yakuza 3, 4 & 5 PS4 ports now providing options for English translations of the Karaoke lyrics), many thanks for restoring those old links (I’ve still got a couple or so of the CD-releases remaining to acquire for myself).
Whilst I find myself here in the lovely new thread, I’ve unfortunately still yet to complete my personal Team Sonic Racing Original Soundtrack: Maximum Overdrive CD-rip as I’ve been keenly looking into the inconsistency of the CD Booklet & Digital Release that have the Team Ultimate tracks without credit in the booklet, but various artists and/or original authors credited in their digital releases (I’ve not yet familiarised myself with Sonic’s music outside the Mega Drive/Genesis classics nor Sonic Mania, so I’ve had some catching up to do trying to identify specific origins & music staff for the Team Ultimate tracks), plus life has largely gotten in the way as it often does. Of course, Ashram (Thread 233500) & SonicRings4 (Thread 234693) have already provided lossless rips, so nobody should be left wanting merely for the music in the meantime while I continue to gather details.
On the subject of lossless music, Skybound Games recently released official soundtracks for the entire Telltale’s The Walking Dead series, and having so far acquired both parts of Season One & Season Two’s music from Qobuz (https://www.qobuz.com/interpreter/jared-emerson-johnson-1/download-streaming-albums) (It’s also available in FLAC via 7digital (https://www.7digital.com/artist/jared-emerson-johnson/albums) & TIDAL (https://store.tidal.com/artist/12759629) if you don’t mind the latter’s drawbacks) and being suspicious that it may not be genuinely lossless, I can say when comparing tracks from the new release, the original free MP3 download for Season One (https://vgmdb.net/album/43081) and in-game music files, the Spectrogram checks do seem to largely check out.
I certainly would like to perhaps prepare a personal collection of all of the in-game music files along with these official releases in formats from the region-limited Qobuz, but I’d rather not get ambitious while I still have a to-do list to tackle. But I will say that the Telltale Music Extractor (https://quickandeasysoftware.net/software/telltale-music-extractor) is a very good friend for any owners of the games or any other Telltale series looking for their music.
Hopefully I’ll be returning soon with results rather than excuses or random release mentions.

Esper Dream Memorial Best [KICA-7603] (Thread 126974)
You should post the rip because I remember there being an issue with defective discs when the album was originally released and Square had to produce replacement discs, the rips that have been posted here were made with the defective discs and all anyone did regarding the replacement discs was to upload single file tracks. No proper rip of the replacement discs (with EAC logs) have ever been posted here.

Hello, these links are super dead I think. But if they aren’t they definitely don’t work for me regardless. Anybody that can confirm this or reupload? Please? x(
Edit: Found it I think. Will be reuploading it myself then. But it might take quite some time.
So far I’ve been doing okay since I don’t just post uploads on FFshrine, but my pastebin has every single MEGA upload I’ve ever made in my signature. If you’re having trouble finding any of my Ys, Trails, Xanadu, Gurumin, Dragon Slayer, Brandish etc. uploads, just check my signature.

Sure, upload them, don’t need to ask for permission 😛
I’m interested in the lossless digital download version they provide. It seems the soundtrack is of the Japanese version, and the tracks have proper loops. Not sure if there’s already a version like what they’re offering, since I only know of a gamerip of the original Japanese SEGA CD and PC versions, which have the shorter tracks.
I am currently on the "Individual Games" list. I’ll let you know when I’m done.

Bro, are you able to upload folders there?
You’re probably looking for a lossless version, but here’s an mp3 version (https://vgmmusicks.blogspot.com/2012/04/lord-of-vermilion-ii-original.html) all the same.

Type A is only 48 KHz. The Type B and C CD versions have bad spectograms (high frequency noise): https://vgmdb.net/forums/showpost.php?p=86686&postcount=117
I know that Type C is available at 96 kHz, 24-bit. I’ve done a spectral analysis of one of its files, and it definitely looks like fake 96 kHz. I don’t want to waste 6+ GB of disk space for one stupid album.
3+ would be better, and and 48 kHz is more likely to be real. 😛
I know Type C 96 kHz is available from this generous person, but that’s not what I want:
Come on, completionist and "best version" seekers. Care about this.
Anyone ?
Can anyone reupload this please? It is a rare thing.

The Type C definitely sounds better than the CD one, based on my comparisons. Might be fake 96 but at least real 48. To answer the question, no I havent found the rips of Type A either.
There is one on TSDM. I’m just not sure it’s legit, though.

I prefer the Saturn music but recommend you download both versions.
That happens to not just that link, but to several others. The reason being that some people have deleted their posts, so then a post like say #156 becomes #155. Repeat that several times and they fall back a page or two.
It’s not viable to fix IMO. Simply have it in mind that this can happen sometimes, and go back a little if you find yourself in this position.
Edit: Oh, I wasn’t in the last page when I wrote this. Wait… You actually fixed them? You’re a monster.

A small request: can anyone recommend a link protector? I’m not interested in monetization (a la the detestable AdFly), but a service that lets you hide a link behind a password or captcha to stop DMCA bots harvesting them. I haven’t had any Western game music DMCAed, but film/TV soundtracks go down extremely quickly, even ones that are old and mostly forgotten about.
Those two don’t sound anything outstandingly new. Similar little loop editing like before. When the full release is out we can then thoroughly compare to 510 again.
(By "new" I mean redoing the whole thing at instrument/sample level, which is too good to happen.)
Has someone reuploaded The Fallen Angels – Daraku Tenshi yet? The link in the old thread is only a few months old but it’s already gone and I’ve tried looking for any mirrors through the entire forum.

Yeah, the index is best for finding things that have been posted in this or the previous v2 thread, because it’s pretty much impossible to keep track of everything in the entire forum.
It’s best to use the "Search Forum" function, or even better, use Google. A basic tip is to search "Name of the Soundtrack" + "site: forums.ffshrine.org".
By doing this Google will search only this forum. Really useful.
Example for your case: "The Fallen Angels – Daraku Tenshi site: forums.ffshrine.org".
Thanks for the link… Looks like I need an account. Would you be willing to convert those WAVs to FLACs and upload?
Well, I really would like to do that, but the archive is hosted on Baidu and since it’s bigger than 5GB I can’t download it without a premium account.
I’m trying a few things and will post here if I’m lucky.

Thanks, quick question though: how come the VGMdb link shows it as a single disc while the download has 6 discs?
My account is from 2016 and it seems normal. Maybe it’s like Chrono Meridian said and only the newer accounts have been affected.
Feels like Redacted tagged it to the Type B album. The tracks seem to be all the same when you compare them on vgmdb(Type B is just separated into discs), difference was the delivery format for each type of limited release(type a is USB as pictured, type b was a CD with extras). But both seem to be the full tracklist, as opposed to Type C which is missing the last disc of jingles/piano arranges. Should just be able to either retag the tracks and remove the disc numbers or just rename the album to Type B if it matters.
I think that too. They probably did that to make things easier to tag and organize.
New MEGA accounts are 15GB forever and +35GB free/temporal until 30 days (50GB total in the register, 15 forever + 35 temporal), but after 30 days they reduce the capacity to the originals 15GB. Through the 30 days you can fill the whole 50GB, and when the time expires you will still have the 50GB of your uploads, but then only with 15GB capacity.

I can’t thank you enough!
Probably because organization by discs is easier for humans to understand (chunking), and matching the organization of the inferior Type B and Type C releases, again, makes tracks easier to locate.
Thank you CGBS for the share! I thought Xenoblade 2 Type A would never appear, having been a year with no sign. Real 48 kHz > fake 96 kHz digital distribution (lying) website upsample. My hard drive thanks you.
For a while MEGA thought the folders Vegeta shares were part of my account storage, so it thought I was a 894/50GB. It is only now that I check again that I see I’m back to 5/50GB, so that’s a nice change of pace for me.
Same here. I’m glad that’s fixed, but I’m still over my capacity anyway so I have to resort to using a new account lmao. Sadly though, the new account’s only 15GB and already full, so I’ll have to either keep making more accounts or find another host with more space.
I just checked my account and you’re right! So MEGA has undone this bullshit, very nice.

This one looks like another fake 96 kHz. The spectogram suggests 44.1 kHz.
True, I noticed that too. It’s that same case of "Fake Hi-Res", but the files came directly from Mora.jp (Link (https://mora.jp/package/43000021/SQEX-10730-2/)) which is a legitimate japanese seller. It’s hit-or-miss, not much can be done about that.
If you want to save space you can either downsample it or wait for a CD Rip.
This is standard for hi-res Square Enix releases. It’s just one big wrapper.
That said, this acoustic arrangement album is absolutely gorgeous! I HIGHLY suggest anyone check it out! There are TONS of acoustic and orchestral versions of so many of the Squaresoft era songs, so I was expecting just yet another, but this album is on a whole ‘nother level. I didn’t even make it through track 4 and I already ordered it!! Seriously beautiful stuff.
Lastly, wow, when did Mega "fix" that? I actually ended up finally going with a mediafire account (I love them both) because my main MEGA account was stuff with Vegeta’s collection, and doing the 1TB per month plan would only leave a tiny bit of space for my uploads. 🙂 Either way, when my mediafire subscription is up, I MIGHT be tempted to go back to MEGA. Can anyone absolutely confirm that you can have a premium account, be connected to a "friend’s" collection, and NOT have that space count towards your own?

My MEGA actually connected to Vegeta’s and it only shows my storage capacity. I have only Free account with MEGA, so I can confirm it that MEGA already fix the storage issue.
Ladies and gentlemen, all links from the list should finally work again correctly and without problems!
I’m really sorry that it took longer than planned, but now I’m happy to have finally made it.
Of course there are some things I have to do with the list, but I would say that the most important thing is done.
Thank you for your patience.
Ladies and gentlemen, all links from the list should finally work again correctly and without problems!
Yes, thank you.
Are you still planning to check them 1 by 1 to indicate dead links ?
First time doing these sorts of requests, and I wouldn’t be if there was another way. But, I was curious if anyone had any means of sharing any of the vocal collections for the first 3 Harukanaru Toki no Naka de games, if not to the specials that were for them. They’re almost non-existent online anymore, and I used to have them, but the computer that held them took a dump on me.
And this was the only site that I could think to return back to in order to see if there was even a chance after pouring through sites after sites that had the old megaupload links to them.
Sorry for bothering though.
so that I always can see which soundtracks I have already added.
*Except for this one, of course.

Yes, the links are all fixed, but I am already at the next task.
I’m checking the titles in the list, using VGMdb as help.
Everything will be sorted alphabetically, of course.
The categories of the lists will remain, but I will change them a bit.
Sometimes Zodiacmaster has set a post with several soundtracks that belong together as a single link in the list, but I want to change that.
That’s it for now. I don’t know when I’ll be finished, so there is no "release date" yet, lol.
Sorry for being vague. I mean the OST. The link in this (Thread 126974) is dead.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS RELEASE
PLEASE READ
The way I ordered the CDs is different than how others would do it. I separated the songs by style so the soundtrack flows better. I did this because there’s quite a few radically different styles in this soundtrack which makes it jarring to listen to as an album (if listened to in the default order as they show up in-game).
Here’s some examples of each disc’s style so you’ll understand why I felt this was necessary:

Do you have the whole album in FLAC? I can only find it in MP3.
Moreover, if you listen closely the version you shared is the final version of "Am I only Dreaming?" in the game, but the version I posted is slightly different. I’m not sure it was in the final game at all.

So i was downloading the Soundtrack to "Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance" from this Post:
Thread 126974
What i notice that every track seems to be upconverted from a much lower source. As if it???s not lossless at all…
My Gamecube Rip from the Game itself has the same frequencies as the official Soundtrack, which makes me wonder if the Company behind the Production even have the source Files anymore. The Tracks even have Fade Outs and not real Endings.
Is this only avaible in this or did went something wrong with the Soundtrack Rip?
PS: i wanted to post a picture of the frequencies via Spek, but the Forum doesn???t let me.

How do you check for links that are dead? I would keep a spreadsheet or text file with all of the links and periodically check them at http://urlchecker.org.
All links in the list have already been fixed by me.
Many of the links were not really dead, they just led to the wrong post.

I believe unip meant the download links, not the posts links.
That will be much more time consuming to check.
As for your sugestion I think It could work, but I’m also concerned for future problems.
I never imagined the forum would have database errors because of the post size.

Right, I can’t check all the download links. That would be too much effort. But I can at least check the mirror links.
For example, a dead mirror is useless if the user is not really there anymore.
I could comfortably divide everything into one or at least two posts. I am glad that I have 4 at my disposal, otherwise there could be problems.

I made a request for this as well. There’s a Wii U one on this forum (Thread 186539) but sadly none for Wii. I’m definitely also interested!

I totally missed it. Didn’t find it on the list 🙁
Btw, I have the European version. I’ll upload it anyway.

In the very first post is the list for this thread, there is the link to the soundtrack post included.
I’ll put everything together, but only after I’ve finished editing the other lists, otherwise I’ll get confused, lol.

THANK YOU for coming through so quickly on this, I really appreciate it!! 🙂
I can help you out here, I recently did a lot of research into Wii seq ripping and was planning on doing the Wii channel music at some point in the future. I’ve recently started recreating my entire music library and have been working on things in whatever order I feel like, so I can push this forward as the next thing to work on. I’m currently in the middle of cleaning up a couple albums that are almost done, so after that I’ll get right on it.

Wouldn’t the Metroid Prime Trilogy game rip work for you guys? I’m not knowledgeable on the differences, but hcs has all the series game rips.
"Like Prime, Echoes contains lots of audio bugs. Once again, audio master extraordinaire PrimeBlue spent long, tedious hours removing them to create the clean audio heard below."
This might be the reason why some people prefer the version of Primeblue. I don’t know if there are comparable variations of other people.
I know Milo has once shared the .ape, but he has been long gone and no reupload for this.
Thank you

As far as I’m aware, there has never been a 100% log rip with checksum of this album. I am very excited to bring this to the shrine! Special thanks to Cameron1391 (http://forums.ffshrine.org/member.php?u=1135837) for the rip!

2011 account making their first post, and I’m super confused what this means.
This might be the reason why some people prefer the version of Primeblue. I don’t know if there are comparable variations of other people.
Well, Trilogy is from the Wii, so bugs are maybe less likely to happen? Worth a try, I guess.
Do you plan to change the post with a mirror or making a new post?
I’ll repair my post since they already removed his account. Oddly enough the link was from another site but that site also reposted the link I guess. Sorry about this, but at least the album is available to all now.
The ban already been done and it cannot be unbanned. Please kindly share with the forumers here, bro.
They seriously banned you that fast and just because another person shared the album?
I’m really sorry to hear that, but they really are too strict.

I’m really sorry to hear that, but they really are too strict.
I figured this will happen sooner or later. My only regret, is they banned me before Luminous Avenger iX OST got released.
I’ll have to check at some point in the future to see if the issues are fixed for the Trilogy, but it’s lower priority as I’d like to wait for Prime Blue’s Metroid Prime 2 rip to possibly appear in FLAC to save me some time. If nothing shows up, I’ll look into making my own Prime 2 rip and essentially recreating what Prime Blue did, we’ll see what happens

I was so thrilled when I had found out that you had fulfilled my request for a reupload on Clione no Akari/Starting Days!! / aki (Thread 126974).
Thanks a ton for that, I’ve been listening to its tracks all day today!
This is most likely a long shot but does anyone happen to have the following two albums in FLAC?
Their download links were taken down.

– Monster Hunter 10th Anniversary Compilation Album [Self Cover]
(Original post for both albums (Thread 126974))
Oh and also, Halloween is less than 2 hours at the time of writing this post, so happy Halloween everyone!

Oh and also, Halloween is less than 2 hours at the time of writing this post, so happy Halloween everyone!
Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it.
As for you request, with a bit of a search I found a working link for both of them.
Check this thread: Monster Hunter Series Soundtracks (Thread 223130).
You’ll find them under "Arrangement". All the links are still working.
That thread is amazing for fans of Monster Hunter, there’s a lot of stuff there.
I consider myself quite a big fan of Monster Hunter so that thread will be a godsend for me.
You’ve helped me yet again, NeoKilling.
Thanks to your timely assistance on my poor soul, you have received another rep point from me.
Keep being awesome, NeoKilling. You’re the kind of person we all need on FFShrine but unfortunately do not deserve.
So it’s officially Halloween now. Happy Halloween to you, NeoKilling, and to everyone else on the forums!
The reprint, however, is published by Materia Collective. And since stuff from MC is not allowed here, what should I do?

I think you need to consult with Leon Scott Kennedy, bro.
The reprint, however, is published by Materia Collective. And since stuff from MC is not allowed here, what should I do?
Considering the only ‘official’ release is the one by Materia Collective, it’s probably best to preemptively remove it, lest any issues arise.

I was downloading the Soundtrack to "Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance" from this Post:
http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthrea…6974&p=2912253
What i notice that every track seems to be upconverted from a much lower source. As if it???s not lossless at all…
My Gamecube Rip from the Game itself has the same frequencies as the official Soundtrack, which makes me wonder if the Company behind the Production even had the source Files at the production time of this soundtrack. The Tracks even have Fade Outs and not real Endings.
Is this only available in this or did went something wrong with the Soundtrack Rip?
PS: i wanted to post a picture of the frequencies via Spek, but the Forum doesn???t let me.
Sittingonclouds’s has it. Look up for his topics.

If a user posts the same soundtrack here in the thread and in a separate thread, I will link the separate thread.
If a user posts a soundtrack here in the thread, I will link that post.
If a user posts a soundtrack in their own thread, I will link the separate thread here.
Threads with a lot of soundtracks, like Trypetide’s, get a separate list.
Oh and P.S.: I already checked and corrected a lot of titles. Thanks to VGMdb. Some titles were completely different,
also I corrected CAPS. Example: FINAL FANTASY IV ORIGINAL SOUND VERSION is now Final Fantasy IV Original Sound Version.
Because it just looks better. Also, I’ll probably (I still have to think about that) just put game series in a separate list that has a
lot of games/albums. It doesn’t make sense to have such a list if there are only 3 albums of a series or so. But I still need a while
for everything. Fortunately there doesn’t seem to be any problems so far, at least nobody has complained yet.
Thanks for taking care of everything I often got to hear, thanks back for that. See ya!

I was never a fan of this CAPS LOCK madness, but tried to follow VGMdb titles.
Even then, we shouldn’t always copy VGMdb titles down to the letter.
I’m all for making these small changes to make reading easier or to standardize things.

Even then, we shouldn’t always copy VGMdb titles down to the letter.
I’m all for making these small changes to make reading easier or to standardize things.
Following vgmdb for titles is half good: the guideline for titles is silly.
It is not like the website is 100% right and like vgm fans must follow vgmdb ideas because they are (not) the highest authority of vgm.
FINAL FANTASY for example, is stylised like this. I think Japan is using caps lock for nearly everything that is translated/officialised in English.
Unfortunately for me, I do not like caps lock on my drive directories, so i follow my own cataloging.
Also, following vgmdb for titles will result in a few inconsistancies as sometime the titles are changed/updated on the database, more often on western releases than Japanese ones though.
But fun aside, I’m thinking about something. I already have an idea,
I just have to see if that would work. But not today, because today I took a break.
It is not like the website is 100% right and like vgm fans must follow vgmdb ideas because they are (not) the highest authority of vgm.

That’s my thoughts exactly.
Personally I don’t like using all caps lock either when tagging my albums, that’s why I always change it.
I hope everyone understand that criticizing VGMdb or saying it’s at fault wasn’t my intention.
VGMdb has been an amazing help to me over the years and I know it will continue to be so.
I was merely expressing my agreement with Chrono Meridian’s idea of removing excessive caps lock from titles.
And… more mirrors/reuploads. I reupload Xenoblade X, but the rest are mirrors.

At present, that soundtrack can’t be copied to an external drive/device (protected, you only listen to it with a PS4), so, good luck getting a hold of it.
Source: me (game owned)
I do not have any physical copy of soundtracks of this franchise but after listening the whole discography and the gamerip of this last game, I’ll probably buy this one sooner or later, the amount of rock, electro and percussive tracks is incredible.

I don’t have that version and it’s not in the game. Don’t have the soundtrack in FLAC, just converted the music file to FLAC to upload for you.
TJ Davis is on twitter, so maybe send her a message on there and she might give it to you.
Thanks, Jessie. I actually have a follow up to this. I was able to find the song in MP3! Someone shared it on 4chan. I won’t post the link here since it’s off-topic, but I can share via PM if anyone is interested.

Thank You !!!
I uploaded what I could find, but there is still quite a few arrange albums missing.
I will update this later if I find the rest. It’s really sad that mixi’s collection died…
Also noticed a lot of broken links for Assassin’s Creed soundtracks.
I didn’t bother uploading albums with working links (included below for easy access).

Yes to both. Quick Reply works on my ESR Firefox+Windows Vista, I just need to move around the caret using the keyboard.
And, before anyone asks, it’s likely that only the domain’s owner could attempt to fix this.
It seems normal, at least for me.
I’m using Chrome and Nano Adblocker.

I’m experiencing the following as well:
– middle click to scroll not working
– sometimes, clicking is totally ignored (have to reload the page)
Disabling scripts using Noscript seems to alleviate the symptoms though.
Edit: What’s this weird "raiphupi.com" website about? Loading ffshrine forum pages seem to load stuff from there as well.

Nothing says "honey pot" like someone injecting clickjacking code into the site. I think this ol’ forum is seriously on its last leg. Are there really no alternatives to FFShrine yet that aren’t just someone’s personal vie for power or simply a Discord channel?
There have been multiple attempts to build alternatives to FFShrine, but want to know something? They utterly failed/got closed soon and the folks that managed them either left for good, or came back here.
Take that as you will.
As far as a general opinion is concerned, there are Japanese and Chinese boards which admittedly do a far better job than the Shrine (as far as sharing of latest releases is concerned), but good luck navigating those.
It is a miracle at all that this forum still exists. We really need someone to clean this forum properly.
Or an good alternative which is really taken care of for a long time. But that’s easy to say, isn’t it?
_________________________________
I will writing the title of the game in the first place, depending on what the album is called.
So it becomes clearer and can be found much easier.
Example
Music from the First Queen
Becomes
First Queen ~ Music from the First Queen
Or:
Musical Tengai Makyou Dream Festival
Becomes
Tengai Makyou Zero ~ Musical Dream Festival
Do go into detail.
Whenever the forum is down, and this has happened a lot lately, the thought comes to me that this time it is final.
It is a miracle at all that this forum still exists. We really need someone to clean this forum properly.
This is what’s keeping me from contributing more. Because I really want to, I have a lot of stuff that’s difficult for people outside of Japan to get a hold of even on the second-hand market, but I want there to be some kind of backup to my post or list of links, and some other place that people here would instinctively know to go to in that case because the site could go down again, for the last time, as early as tomorrow. And then any effort I put into it would just vanish.
Have you considered using nyaa.si as some users have? It’s not quite a "backup", but it better than nothing

Maybe you could use torrent in nyaa.si, just like what brother VyseLegend do till now
Would the subreddit be "safer" if it was set to private?
Maybe you could use torrent in nyaa.si, just like what brother VyseLegend do till now
nyaa.si as in the Anime tracker? They accept torrents of western video game music?
But that’s not what I mean by a backup. I upload stuff that I physically own, so it’s not going to be lost if the archives are removed or torrents go unseeded. I mean a backup meeting place. There’s a rich, long-lived community here in spite of the state of the site. But when it goes down… who’s still aware of the uploads that are available? Especially when they’re a direct response to a request made by another member. I will see someone asking for something I actually have, then I find the time to fulfill the request and the site goes down for several days. When it comes back, I forgot about it or someone else responded because I stopped checking to see if it was back up. That’s happened more than a couple of times. It discourages me from even wanting to try, let alone commit to something bigger.
What kind of stuff, this is getting interesting ??
There’s no definitive or best solutions. Anything can be taken down (by users, by services, by hackers, by authorities…)
Of course there are currently many places to find music (and VGM), like private forums, private trackers, twitter accounts, discord servers…
But all of them use "temporary" links, because anything on the web is temporary.
Even What.CD was taken down: bigger the place is, harder it will get to cover/protect.
Here you go: Metropolis Street Racer Gamerip [FLAC] (http://www.mediafire.com/file/4xushngl2gxv4y1/MSR2000.7z/file)
Not my rip, more info in the file.
ffshrine is good the way it is because it’s free & public.
You can not create a private tracker to "replace" ffshrine, because it is not the way the shrine is working.
Private trackers requires extreme set of rules and quality control, if you are really searching for such a thing: try Redacted. I do not see why you would need another tracker for music.
This is exactly how I’m feeling. I very recently came back here and thought about putting lots of effort into uploading the stuff I own & reuploading specific requests I’d seen people having, but I just get so concerned with the stability/longevity of the site every time it goes down that I’m put off from setting up here, even though it has managed to survive this long. Maybe it’s irrational for me to think that, but I still really hope an alternative can be reached, as Myrkul is totally right in the appeal of FFShrine in the first place:
ffshrine is good the way it is because it’s free & public.

I’ve said over and over that I prefer a system of separating community from files hosting/directories, so that if one is removed it doesn’t break the other. If BakaBT goes down, you can’t access the torrents anymore. It also is invite only and has its own private forum system as well. If Nyaa goes down, that can be remedied pretty easily since its an open tracker.
If you use one forum or chat to discuss and organize, and another to actually post files, it prevents one from being a weak link. Thus you can create a forum that is nominally a discussion and community board (like this one) and also just happen to post the files on a public database elsewhere. Is there a better solution for that than torrents? I don’t know, but it whatever it is must be decentralized.
Maybe an answer is to create an official FFShrine Discord, or some other chat service (im not too up to speed on that) where this stuff can be privately discussed, but freely joined and more or less easy for the public to join. From there you could organize and promote your different distribution platforms and methods and off-load the legal burden from a single site host constantly under attack from governments worldwide.
Sometimes the simplest solution is best.
Of course there are currently many places to find music (and VGM), like private forums, private trackers, twitter accounts, discord servers…
But all of them use "temporary" links, because anything on the web is temporary.
Even What.CD was taken down: bigger the place is, harder it will get to cover/protect.
There are two things to be mentioned here:
– decentralization. Good luck taking down anything really decentralized (base cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Etherium) or at least mirrored (repositories of a linux distro (https://www.archlinux.org/mirrors/))
– SPOF (single point of failure) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_point_of_failure). Size doesn’t matter if it all goes to hell with turning off a single server. Who cares ffs has 100500 threads (through which you can’t effectively search anyway) if the site is down.
> because anything on the web is temporary
not really. It’s in the best interests of people to keep some parts of it alive forever (like Wikipedia or MusicBrainz).
Of course, plenty of stuff is, like filesharing links 😀
What.CD takedown was somewhat dumb. I’m sure modern successors aren’t willing to follow its steps: RED is served from Switzerland (excellent choice!), not France, for instance.

P.S. VyseLegend, you are my hero, I’ve read enough opinions of yours here to make such a conclusion. Thank you!
Even if it’s just another Vbulletin board that could just as likely to go down as anything else, at least there would be someone in the driver’s seat again. (RIP, my old account from 2006 because no one would send me a verification code to reset the password)
FFShrine would continue to function as is, FWIW. People who care to do so could post new links to both sites, while reminding people on the Shrine that they should browse the new site by default since the old one is living on borrowed time. Everyone visiting both can put a link to the new place in their signatures to help spread the word or something.
If you want a safe place, light-weight place to maintain a community, then use IRC. Plenty of groups do it. It may be antiquated, but it is still trustworthy and reliable. It’s why despite it’s age, it is still widely used by many online communities, especially those of the pirating community.
I’d rather not use telegram. Discord or IRC are great. In fact, we already have an IRC channel, just no one uses it.

Good point, I’d forgotten IRC. Technically you could even XDCC albums. That wouldn’t decentralize things though.
IRC and DC are good options but pretty much preclude casual users. We will be taking a step back 20 years into the primitive internet. I think its a better idea to open things up to user friendly modern apps, and while people are still bashing torrents, its still the best traedoff of decentralized distro., availability and redundancy. Many authoritarian regimes and ISP make it harder to use in several places but I don’t have that problem.
That’s true, but only the most casual of casual couldn’t figure out how to join an IRC server. Especially with all the webclient ones that auto join you to the server. It’s not that I’m bashing the torrent option, but my criticism from before still stands; people use different naming schemes, might change tags, might rename folders, some torrents are rar’d, etc. that could hurt seeding.
Here it is along with the Tales of Orchestra albums. I just love them, especially the last one.

Well, for the record: I’m using Ghostery (plugin) and I don’t see anything. With all enhanced shields (only blocking all trackers). So if you don’t want to go full ad-blocker, I can vouch for it.

Lol what, really? Today’s full of surprises.

The details are "irc.cleverpun.com/6667" with channel as "#ffshrine"

Redirects me. Working on what I need to specifically block to continue to access the site without issue
If I turn off Javascript, spoilers can’t be open for links/passwords
EDIT: Just got a Database error. That’s a first.
EDIT2:
Been getting the McAfee trojan fake popup all day then trying to download an exe error, at first I could not even get access to the forum as it would instantly get this fake popup then error screen.
Disabled java (thank you wickedxice) and least managed to get access to the forum.
But if you go to the main site ffshirine.org it actually got to the trying to save an exe to your hard drive (release.exe) then my AV instantly flagged it as Win32/Kryptik.GXDT threat.
I had not visited the main page until I saw what Sera said. I can support what Sera said. If you go to the ffshrine.org, an file will automatically try to download.
Malwarebytes didn’t automatically say anything, but I scanned it:
At this point, being on this site is like trying to build something on quicksand. Best to just get out and stay out for a while. It’ll either fix itself, or it’ll go completely. Redirects/popups were one thing, but maliciuous .exe files (trojan horse? keylogger? cryptocurrency miner? I dunno) are another thing entirely.
Blocking automatic downloads may be an easy ‘fix’ to this, but really… it’s plug one hole, another pops open. It’s a damn shame, but if anyone was holding out of things getting better…
To view spoiler tags now, at least in firefox, open the menu bar option ‘View’, ‘Page Style’, and select ‘No Style’.

menu bar… of Firefox itself?
Things are quite crazy on my side as well.
I’m replying from my phone as I’m away from my PC.
But If you guys want something I posted I could remove the spoiler tags from the post you need.
Yes, of firefox itself, you may have to hit [Alt] to get it to show.

If you have any other blocker, I’ll explain the rules. The first one is blocking a div id, and the others block 2 functions inside the script. The bottom two aren’t realy necessary but it’s just to be sure

I can confirm: even with Javascript back on, this stops the popups/redirects, and removes the spoiler button, so we can see under it without issue
What’s happening?
What’s happening?
Likely the domain expired and someone else has snatched it up.
Well, I’m really hoping this isn’t the end.. I know a few users that have a large amount of things stored, but it pales in comparison to this whole site. If something else springs up, someone let me know! There are a few of us on the subreddit, usually on down days. My username is the same. Whatever the next iteration is to be I’d certainly like to be a part of it.
Linking the subreddit would be nice.

The following method did not worked for me, to reply to this thread I was forced to disable javascript.
Tried your method with Ublock Origin (last ver.) I’m on Google Chrome.

Yep same for me, I just enable Noscript when i’m on here
Firefox: In Firefox’s menu bar, open ‘View’, ‘Page Style’, and select ‘No Style’
Chrome: Install the "Web Developer" extension, switch to the "CSS" tab, and select "Disable Inline Styles" (bottom left; has to be done every time)
Hope this helps people get what they can before it’s likely gone for good. And here’s the subreddit:

That solution definitely doesn’t work perfectly, as I turned off my fix and tried just yours, but it was a no-go. No harm using yours on top, but uBlock Origin filters are more than sufficient, in my experience; disable JS too, of course.
Now, to Chrome Users who are having trouble with the spoiler boxes not working, due to having to disable scripts, and don’t want to install a whole extention– I sure didn’t– if you add the following code to your uBlock "My Filters", it should auto-open/display the spoiler contents:
forums.ffshrine.org##.spoiler:style(display: block !important)
In case anyone is looking for me after this site collapses, go to the links in my sig.
No problem. The only downside would be if you’re on a page with a lot of spoilers, like this thread’s first index page. It’s a minor trade-off. I hope with all fixes provided users like NeoKilling & VyseLegend can go back to sharing OSTs. ^^
Sadly my PC decided to die a few days back.
And don’t know when I’ll have the money to fix it,
so I won’t be able to upload things for some time.
I’ll just hope the site is still alive by then.
I’ve tried contributing when I could. But to lose all this work, damn!
On reddit, there is someone who has a database of all the links around these threads, but it’ll be a pain to maintain. Do we have any alternatives yet? Back on V2 there were talks about a new host or something to migrate to.
It’s been a pleasure meeting you, if the site sinks before we can move to greener pastures. Thanks for the melodies, memories, and smiles. You’re all a great bunch on fine people. Thank you!

My bad, good point. 🙂

I have sticked at the top some other community resources, like a Riot group and the IRC. I’d like to add to that list, if anyone knows other communities many of us may be a part of.
Where would something like a recording and mixing engineer go?
In case anyone is looking for me after this site collapses, go to the links in my sig.
Thanks ! It worked 😉
Where would something like a recording and mixing engineer go?
Most go with a "Arrangement" or "Arranger" tag, though there isn’t a huge need to make mention of the arranger, unless the track/album is an arrangement. Generally, the composer + any relevant additionals e.g. remixer/mixer, vocal/performers; sometimes the performer is the arranger.
If the track is arranged, then the arranger would also be in the Artist field, unless the arranged track has a vocal; I’d put the vocalist/band in the Artist field instead. If the entire album is an arrangment done by one person, or entity (such as is the case with doujin/indie releases, then they’d also go in the "Album Artist" field too

I tend to go with:
Composers, Arrangers, Vocalists
All in the artist tag. And if I’m feeling bored I add more information in the comment section.
But that’s just me.
For reasons I don’t think I need to explain to anyone.
There is still some adjustment to be made, but I am sure that this is a sufficient alternative.
If there’s anything wrong, tell me.
Thanks, guys!

Also if you add the following filter in uBlock Origin, it will automatically expand all spoilers even if you have Javascript disabled:

You can create additional tag categories like "Vocalists" so you don’t lump them together with artists. Don’t want to mess up your artist play count that way since "Aimer" and "Aimer x Chelly" will appear as 2 different people, for example.
I’ve been thinking about that too.
Are you referring to this: https://vgmdb.net/album/380
I do have it. I’ll upload it for you tommorow

Thanks for that very good alternative ! 🙂
Wanted to do that myself, but did not have the knowledge to do it.
downloads are gone and the users haven’t shown up forever.
Another one also had the idea to simply write the download links directly into
the spreadsheet, additionally with the respective password.
But I don’t know if I want to put more work into the list than necessary.
