The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask – The Complete Soundtrack Collection [FLAC/MP3]

Here I present you my own custom three-disc version of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask’s soundtrack which aims to be the definitive version of the OST. It’s also a follow-up to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – The Complete Soundtrack Collection (Thread 226871).

Thankfully Nintendo did a much better job this time with the Japanese and American soundtrack (https://vgmdb.net/album/1678). Not only where they generous enough to make it a two-disc release this time, but it’s also based on the original MIDI files, meaning they don’t suffer from any post-processing effects that were added when they were put onto a cartridge. The only downside is that two songs (Woodfall Temple & Snowhead Temple) don’t loop properly. On the other hand, the European soundtrack (https://vgmdb.net/album/16426) once again features extended tracks and remixes at the cost of cutting out some of the songs. However, it was also poorly mastered and suffers from severe clipping issues and overall lower audio quality. Bizarrely, Nintendo of America published yet another version of the OST (https://vgmdb.net/album/40479) in 2013. Despite having the same track list and a similar track length to their previous release, the music appears to be a USF rip resulting in a much lower audio quality than what was previously released. Last but not least there is the Japan exclusive soundtrack to Majora’s Mask 3D (https://vgmdb.net/album/53815) which, unlike the one for OOT 3D, contains full versions of all songs in the game. While I still don’t like the way they remixed the music, it’s an otherwise competent album.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask – The Complete Soundtrack Collection takes the original Japanese soundtrack and expands it with alternate versions, orchestrations and official remixes. Songs that were suffering from clipping issues have also been declipped whenever possible.
