UPDATE 2!!: Thanks to the help of DCX672323, sparksterfan, TheHBS91 and NCFirebolt21. I’ve done a significant update to the Soundtrack:
DCX let me know that the music I was using for the OST tracks weren’t fully lossless so providing them in FLAC was recursive, so NCFirebolt hooked me up with a lossless version.
Sparkster and TheHBS let me know I had accidentally removed the Crash 1 Epilogue track, so that has been reinstated to bring the total track count to 101.
NCFirebolt let me know that the Tomb Wader Death Trap music was just a repeat of the High Time Death Trap music, so I fixed that issue as well.
Lastly, I upped the volume for the Aku Aku Invulnerability track as it wasn’t as loud as it should have been compared to the rest of the tracks.
For consistency I’ve also updated the MP3 version of the soundtrack too with all of these changes, including the proper FLAC tracks from the OST.
There shouldn’t be a need to redo this Soundtrack anymore unless there was a mistake on my part or we get some cleaner cutscene music in the future. Open the Spoilers below for the previous changelog.
UPDATE!: Now that we can get music from PS4 discs, I’ve done a complete revamp of this Soundtrack. Every track has been redone!
The Vicarious Visions "Titles Screen" track has been edited slightly to be a bit shorter and emphasize the music more.
All of the non-OST tracks have been redone using the original music files ripped from the game. This means there’s no longer a fade-in for transitional tracks like Into the Jungle, Aku Aku Invincibility, and Crash 2 & 3’s Bonus Rounds and Death Traps!
The above also applies to the cutscene tracks, which now utilize the center channel of their 5.1 mix, which tends to have the least dialogue and sound effects, as well as clearer music.
For the Bonus Round and Crash 3 Death Trap tracks, the rip had them in two parts: the intro and the main body of music. Due to the game’s nature of loading, the main body will often play later or earlier. For authenticity I aligned them according to the original PSone tracks.
All OST tracks have been re-exported to be slightly louder, to match the slightly louder audio of the rip files compared to my original recordings. Cutscene tracks are now as loud as possible without peaking, as they would be too quiet otherwise.
The Hologram tracks from Crash 2 have now been renamed "[Character] Head Hologram", to reflect their on-disc filenames.
The track names for Death Traps that appear later than their theme’s first level have been renamed to reflect the level they actually appear in. For example, "Future Frenzy – Death Trap" has been renamed to "Gone Tomorrow – Death Trap".
The intro cutscene music from Crash 3 has been added.
I also added the 100% ending from Crash 2. I’ll be honest, this was really only to bump the tracklist up to a round 100 as it doesn’t have any unique music, plus it was the only track in the rip that would have gone unused otherwise.
The Ending for Crash 2 and the 103% Ending for Crash 3 are now longer than before. This is because, for unknown reasons, their Left and Right channels are longer than what is actually heard in-game.
I have also included all four pieces of album art as .pngs, including the boxart if you’d like consistency across the soundtrack.

Titles Screen
The above track is slightly edited around the lines "Developed by Vicarious Visions!" to provide a better listening experience. As well, once the original theme plays, we have switched to the OST version which has better levelling and finishes rather than fades out.

No such issues on the MP3 one, though, so you’re good there.
Well crap. Re-uploading the FLAC one now (I did a test extract to make sure it worked), I’ll drop in the link once I get back from work.

ok now we need a PS1 x PS4 soundtrack, a mashup between this remaster soundtrack and the original
Couldn’t you do that by renaming the PS4 tracks to sit alongside the PS1 versions?
Many thanks. I see you got the "Cortex Hologram " tune.
Yup! Coco and Brio’s are also there too.
Dammit! I’m really sorry about that, I thought I uploaded a slightly updated version (fixed a spelling error), but it looks like I uploaded the PS1 Soundtracks instead. Please sit tight, I’m uploading the correct ones now.
EDIT: Newest version is up. I corrected a spelling error ("The Eels Deal", ugh). I hope you enjoy the soundtrack!
Yes, but not by preference. Since this is a recording (rips aren’t yet possible) I’m constrained by the length of time a tracks plays, as well as any cross-fades and stuff like that. Normally that isn’t an issue, but for the Hologram clips I’m limited by how long the cutscenes themselves are. The Cortex one is from the first hologram he has because that’s the longest one in the game, but even that doesn’t last long enough to play the entirety of the track being used.
since these are recorded there’s no way of getting a "full" version of the hologram music
good job on the rest tho, damn shame they aren’t looped tho
EDIT: Newest version is up. I corrected a spelling error ("The Eels Deal", ugh). I hope you enjoy the soundtrack!
Now everything is OK, and i’m enjoying right now, thx again!
No you ******* i mean a literal mashup like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUmBR_wSI4E
No need to be rude about it. And no I won’t, that wasn’t in my brief to do that sort of thing.
you did goof koala kong’s last bit, faded it out a little too soon
you did goof koala kong’s last bit, faded it out a little too soon
Done, new versions are up! Thanks for pointing that out!
much obliged!!!
Only nitpick is that the individual covers for each game are a bit… squished.
Here’s the fully realised versions:
Crash Bandicoot ()
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back ()
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped ()
I did that on purpose. Thing is those files are contained in the music file itself, which increases their size for something that will be displayed as tiny on most devices you’ll listen to the music on, like an iPod or your PC music player. The main reason why I release MP3 tracks with no looping is specifically because of file size for portable devices so you can fit more music on there.
All in all, though, thanks many times for this awesome collection!! MY CHILDHOOD IS BACK

Very interesting! His version also appears to lack the fade in that usually occurs with his tracks. Sounds like he was able to rip them! I’ve sent him a message on YouTube asking if he would be able to provide me with his original recordings.
As for my versions, the reason why they’re that short is that they are both exactly as long as the longest cutscene those tracks appear in. In-game you never hear the full version, even in the PSone originals.

It would’ve been track #67, between 66. Rock It and 68. Ending.
If you get a chance, can you add this track back in and re-upload the soundtrack?
EDIT: It also looks like you removed the Crash 1 track "Epilogue" that was included in the first release. Was this a repeated/redundant track? Just curious, and apologies in advance if I’m asking any stupid questions here.
Again, was that Crash 1 "Epilogue" track from the original release removed because it was repeated/redundant?
Thanks for clearing that up: I have the old release, and was trying to decide whether or not I wanted to keep it archived.
Wow they’re surprisingly short, but still great, thanks again!
Wow they’re surprisingly short, but still great, thanks again!
Yeah I don’t really like looping tracks unless they’re particularly short. And thank you!
Only thing is the gamerip tracks aren’t looped and the ones from the OST are still present and stick out greatly compared to the other ones.
If these’s any way to loop the gamerip tracks, could you please make that happen. Also replace all the OST tracks with their gamerip counterparts, as too keep consistency, or have both versions and tag them: "*Level name* (OST Ver.)".

Hmm, okay. I’ll see if I can do that sometime, if you want it that badly.
As for the game, the PS4 game has the music in MP3 at 128kbps, so there’s really no helping those. I doubt the PC release would improve the quality given that they had an entire Blu-Ray to work with.
30% CDDA seriously.
that’d be pretty great
even more if they end up getting looped
even more if they end up getting looped
I’m not doing looping, sorry. I personally prefer them having proper outro ends over a loop and a fade, which I only do due to a lack of anything else.

Thanks, if you want the soundtrack files let me know.
Anyway that’s a great work for compiling everything! Thank you!
Oh shit, I didn’t remember the sound was that bad on ps4 haha…
Yeah probably PC will get a lossy mix, but i’m sure Nintendo Switch could have a lossless mix, generally Nintendo have lossless codec for developpers, let’s see.

I would definately like the Soundtrack files if better versions of the rest of the music become available via Switch or PC. Given that VV didn’t have good audio, you should probably double-check them to see if they didn’t just convert the MP3 PS4 files like I did!
Anyways, PLEASE keep me posted on that, I’m not tapped into when people rip these things.
I know it looks the same as "The Great Hall", but it’s different.
Can you put it back?
Also, there’s an intro cutscene like Crash 2 without Cortex’s voice:

Huh, probably moved it out for some reason. Oops!

I probably didn’t pick that version because the music side sounded better elsewhere in the track.
I will, gimme a bit!
Just to clarify for those interested, the PC version’s audio files are FMOD MP2.
Which I’m told is of even lower quality than the FMOD MP3 used by the PS4/Switch versions, though frankly I’m not hearin’ that huge a difference, personally.
Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped – Hang Em’ High (High Time) Death Route and Tomb Wader Death Route music is exactly the same, when they should actually be different 😐
Otherwise, many thanks for your comprehensive edit. I have the FLACs of the official release.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I’ve fixed it on my end, I’ll update it soon.
Yep, thanks for that. It’s loaded into the FLAC version and ready to go when I get the rest done. (same with the Tomb Wader Death Trap track)
I have the FLACs of the official release.
Also, where can I buy/acquire a lossless version of the OST? I can only find Google Play, which is MP3, and iTunes, which is m4a and often at 290kbps.
I agree, I like the versatility of MP3 because anything can play it and it’s much smaller, and I can’t tell the difference between 320kbps and FLAC. But I’ve gotten a lot of requests for my UOSTs in FLAC and it’s a very handy archival measure, so I’ve started providing them as of the Ratchet & Clank PS4 soundtrack in 2016.

Thanks! I’ll get right on it.
Replacing all the FLAC-converted OST tracks with FLAC-originating versions for higher quality
Upped the volume of Aku Aku Invincibility. I had it on the timeline layer associated with OST tracks which meant it was quietened a bit, so I put it on the proper one and re-rendered it so that it’s at the correct volume.
Re-instating the Crash 1 Epilogue track, bringing the track total to 101
Actually having the proper Tomb Wader Death Trap music rather than a repeat of the High Time Death Trap track.
For consistency, these changes also apply to the MP3 version (although in the case of the FLAC changes this should only slightly improve the audio quality).
