Nothing but Queen on this custom soundtrack put together by yours truly. 8 tracks taken from the 2011 Deluxe Remaster of A Kind of Magic.
I’d put Theme From New York, New York in there from the Highlander bootleg but it sounds like utter garbage (both songwise and quality).
I’d put the End Credits on there as well but three different AKOM versions in only 9 songs seems like overkill so I left it at 8.
Fully bagged and tagged metadata. As usual, custom cover by myself as well; this time based on the 30th Anniversary StudioCanal Blu-Ray release sourced from a PRISTINE 4K transfer.
If you haven’t bought this yet, don’t DARE call yourself a Highlander fan (I just ordered it myself; my jaw dropped when I saw this existed!).
Send a PM if you want this.
P.S.: For those non-Highlander fans out there that are gawking at the runtime of the AKOM Highlander and album versions, and you’re thinking only 2 seconds of difference…
The Highlander version differs wildly from the originally released album version. It’s far superior in my opinion.
P.P.S.: I plan on creating film mixes for most of these. Don’t know when. I’m in a Highlander maniac phase right now so it might be sooner than you think.
UPDATE 1: the film mix for the Highlander TV series season 1 intro of Princes Of The Universe is ready. There’s one with and one without Duncan’s voice over intro.
And yes, the New York, New York sounds like utter garbage because there never was any other version than what’s heard in the film.
I actually also have 4 different versions of A Kind of Magic (5, if you count a surround version).
And yes (again), i’m a huge fan of both Highlander and Queen (if you couldn’t tell already) π

Also by Queen in that movie is Hammer to Fall and A Dozen Red Roses for my Darling (if you want to make it more complete) π

Soooo, making a film mix of Princes Of The Universe is a lot harder than it seems if the blu-ray .dts track has a lot of reverb in the POTU song and uses instruments that aren’t even in the fucking song… Right before the wrestle match starts you hear repeated drumming which isn’t even anywhere in the original song. What a bummer. So much for an accurate film mix.
Ooooo what we have here? Right after I grab Califoran’s custom piece, this is posted. I think the universe is telling me I need to see Highlander ASAP.
The universe already told you in 1986 but you failed to listen even back then lol π
Thanks!!
I was born the year Highlander was released. Coincidence? I THINK NOT :p

TRIVIA: Apparently Sean Connery recorded the prologue dialogue somewhere IN A FUCKING BATHROOM IN SPAIN… Yeah… batshit crazy. That’s why there’s such an echo. The editors failed to check it before using it and it was pretty much sent in at the last minute. Good job guys… lol
Which makes thou an old man :p
It’s not on Netflix, Hulu or Prime. Don’t know how or when I’ll see it :/

Just trust an old man’s word and buy the 30th anniversary 4K source remaster blu-ray (https://www.amazon.com/Highlander-30th-Anniversary-Bluray-Blu-ray/dp/B01IN8H2GA). It’s the best damn action fantasy of the ’80s.

Thanks
Frankly, it has aged pretty bad π I watched it during this winter and the dialogue/acting is corny as hell in some scenes. And the action scenes are surprisingly slow. I’ll surely watch it again on my next 80s trip, but I prefer The Terminator for sure.
But I watched it about a year ago and I couldn’t recapture the ‘magic’ that I used to feel when watching it all those years ago π
I will of course continue to revisit it with the hope of rekindling the love I had for the movie back in my youth π
Sorry I forgot to write down the damn password. Let me know if no-one can help you and I’ll not only reupload it with a proper password but I’ll also throw in some new tracks π
