Nope. Those are the complete cue sheets.

Seriously, thanks a lot for this. I had something that looked complete-ish, but that wasn’t lossless 🙂
huge win- mad upgrade

Thanks anyway for the share.
I didn’t get this from this site, so if a true lossless version was shared here in the past then I would suppose they’d be one and the same.
Okay thanks for the info. The sound signature is significantly different from the official releases.
It’s a great share regardless.

Whoa….slow your roll, man :p
I’ve done that once or twice when there’s a single missing slate and you can figure it out by the soure cues. All other slates I have for my scores are legit.
What’s the bitrate and sample rate here?
Pardon mwah? My WALL-E slates are correct. Any doubt and you can take it up with James P Sullivan.
AUDIOCHECKER
Audiochecker is easy to forge results.
It’s been proven, quite a few times, and done that you can take lossless, convert to MP3, burn to CD, and rip to WAV and Audiochecker will call it lossless 100%.

Wow, what a shitty program. But you’re the man for the job. Is this true lossless?
Lossless and 44.1 kHz. It’s the "studio masters" that I’ve since discovered leaked here a couple years back.
But, what Skeleton showed already, assuming those aren’t cues you can find on retail OST, it should look hopeful.
I hear there’s another set of "studio masters" floating around in 24-bit/48kHz
"Uncompressed" as in it has "dynamic range" and not crushed for CD pressing.
Much better to work with for any personal edits of any kind.
I already did a while ago. He said:
… I worked out the complete cue list with slates up to 4m20.
… I interpreted "worked out" to mean "I think it’s right… maybe". Or is it legit?
Audiochecker is easy to forge results.
:this:
Audiocheckers are bullshit.
"Worked out" doesn’t sound very precise to me.

haha, Oblivion is just ending on FX…
Only exception would be the "alt" track for "Interrogating Shiff" has a soft cutoff at 20.
Since it’s an alternate, there was no reason for them to keep it in original lossless format.
At the time it was created, sure it’s lossless. Since it was dropped in favor of something else, the last line of passing this around, they low-passed the alt track and didn’t look back.
CBR has cut-off enabled by default.
VBR-0 does not.
thanks as well to
T-1000 for the slates & composers credit and to the dynamic duo of Mr.Gold & Jason for the covers! 😉

And all this time I thought these were all transcodes of MP3s.
Don’t think it needs to be said, but now that one of my all-time favorite scores is available in lossless in complete form, a film mix is on the way 🙂
I’m well aware of that now. Surprised that so few people seemed to have this in any case.

You haven’t done one already?
‘Course I have!
But it’s in 224k due to the previous source I worked off of. This one will be fairly easy.
Because the previous one was VBR and therefore each track was different. So rather than up convert each track to the nearest bitrate in Audition, I stuck with 224 since that was the average. I’d rather down convert slightly than upconvert. That’s a huge no-no in my book. Although some people on here are notorious for it.
I shared it with Jason privately a few months ago, don’t know if he ever reported back with a verdict….
Agree with you on the matter of upconverting, it’s very tacky.
I was once asked to convert a bunch of files from YouTube to FLAC. O_O
Admittedly, it was to preserve as much audio quality as possible, but still… a bit excessive.
VBR only uses bitrate where bitrate is needed. not bloated.
Very rarely >256 is used in MP3.
Based on the editing, tweaking and final output, using VBR would calculate audio and decide what bitrate is best for each sample of the track.
Haha, go back and re-read my PM if you still have it lol. :p

It’s easy to figure them if out a.) you’ve seen the film and have the slates for all of Newman’s score cues and b.) posess common sense :p

:this:
There’s a few more source cues that need accounting for, which all seem to fit in with my list…
Everything in the following list that has been italicised (sates and cue titles, sometimes just slates, sometimes both) is an assumption, based on the slates we have so far. And so far, it all seems to be adding up and making sense (apart from, obviously, the last few cues which we’ve never had slates for).
I thought it was rather odd that the first Newman cue was already at 1m9, but then I realised that the four short clips of Hello Dolly that WALLE has playing as he works at the beginning of the film before the very first Newman cue must have been counted as separate cues. This makes sense when you consider how the same inserts were clearly used throughout the rest of the film (3m8s, 3m9s, 4m2s, 4m12s, etc.). When you go with this idea, everything seems to fit into place nicely.

Not all of the cues in that are from the same place. Some are cutoff, some are lossless, some are transcodes.
YOUR 2m12 (Halfways to Hong Kong)
MY 2m12 (resampled from 48kHz to 44.1 to match yours)
See the difference? Mine’s not cutoff. It’s not mastered, quieter, more reminsicent of a true session cue.
This is just another compilation of stuff from various places. Most of it isn’t true sessions. And is transcoded/mastered/cutoff.
Wait for Dak’s film mix. I gave him the (real) sessions for it.

Anyway, wait for my film mix. It will be 16-bit/44.1kHz. But it’s 100% lossless. FLAC. I’ve already started working on it a few days ago.
Well, you know who to call if you need something ripped directly from the sound mix…
I do, actually. 1m00 Logo. It’s different in the film than the raw sessions version. I’d like it ripped at 24/48 for my own personal use and I’ll convert it to 16/44 for my film mix.

That is atrocious. Who the F combines cues and makes a 24-minute track? Ridiculous. Plus that one is not true lossless. Repeating myself again here
I’m actually working on it right now. I should be taking a nap since I’m exhausted from work this week, but I’d like to finish it and post it for everyone.

Show me where it’s not true lossless.
All of disk 1 is cutoff and has compression artefacts.
Disk 2 is the same except harvey dent suite is cutoff at 15kHz. Might as well not even be music.
Disk 3 is even more cutoff and compressed than disk 1. "Fake lossless" as they say. Looks lossless
to the untrained eyes and ears.
Disk 4 has 2 lossless tracks. The rest is compressed and cutoff.
Beleive me or not, idc. All you have to do is LOOK.
post # 60 (Thread 195378). It’s all a bunch of transcodes, they’re all the same one. I’m not downloading that and wasting my time and HD space. My time is better spent on my film mix (which I’m in the middle of as I type this). Tell you what, you download it and tell me the total file size of just the complete score is. Not the "album" cues or "original" cues and all that extra crap.
Also, what Zaralyth said:

When you want to see if something’s true lossless, NEVER look at the numbers. Or that AudioChecker thing someone used a few posts back. Spectrograms are your friend.
If that is not lossless, tell me what is it ?
If that is not lossless, tell me what is it ?
The MP3 is more convincing in that post because it goes up to the full spectrum, 22.05kHz. The "Lossless" one is CUTOFF. So infact it
is not lossless.
IF IT’S CUTOFF, IT"S NOT LOSSLESS.
The mp3 looks like V0 or something better to me, maybe even freeformat. But anything MP3 is compressed.

Which one is lossless.
is not lossless.
IF IT’S CUTOFF, IT"S NOT LOSSLESS.
Of course yours is better. does that mean that at 22.00 KHz it’s not lossless?
Nope. There are also different types of acceptable lossless depending on era, technology used. etc.
If you compare yours to mine, mine is lossless, therefore, your cutoff version cannot be considered lossless.
If the original source material has been recorded that way, (Think Pirates of the Caribbean) then yes, we could
call it lossless. But in this case, no. Since the original material is not cutoff. Yours has been digitally cutoff in
post editing, therefore it is not lossless.
Lossless is a tricky business, really. But anything that is manually cutoff by a program or editing software, is
definitely not lossless. Lossless means there is no loss via compression, cutoff etc etc during recording and post.
But if you vut off the frequencies, well, then that’s loss, isn’t it? You’ve lost some quality.
You could argue that it’s lossy, but that term is more reserved forcompression. So we call it cutoff..
This is where I begin to draw the line in terms of lossless. Do you consider 16-bit lossless then to not be "true lossless" if there’s a 24-bit source?
How about sample rates? Can 48 kHz be considered superior to 44.1 kHz because it’s a bigger number?
We’re talking about differences so small that a human cannot possibly detect the difference.
I mean… I agree with you about tracks with cutoffs ≠ lossless, but there’s only so much higher in terms of quality you can go before it gets ridiculous.
How about sample rates? Can 48 kHz be considered superior to 44.1 kHz because it’s a bigger number?

16, 24 and 32 are all lossless. We’re talking about frequencies here, frequencies.
Not bit depth and sample are.. But here’s a little info
44.1 is the minimal acceptable sample rate for lossless. (22.05)
Anything less is cutoff (Take GameCube audio for example. Sample rate 32kHz.)
because this day and age 44.1kHz is the standard for recording.
The differences between 16/24 and 44/48/96/192 are minimal, yes. And upsampling is
only good for editing. But something recorded in 192/24 is, yes, superior to 16/44. But they’re all lossless formats
in the end.
Also, what Zaralyth said:

In this case it was subtle, but I must admit that I learned something today. Thank you for this lesson, and as someone said: This Proves Well I Should Keep My Mouth Shut. 😀
because this day and age 44.1kHz is the standard for recording.
Lol, believe it or not Nintendo STILL uses 32kHz as their standard. Wind Waker HD, for example, for the Wii U had streamed audio at 32kHz.
The new Smash Bros. I think was at 48kHz though, so maybe they’re finally upgrading to where the rest of the world is.
Thanks for the lesson though. I walk away a wiser man.
Yep! Smash 4 is 48. Made me really happy 🙂
Funny though cause in the Super Mario Bros 30th anniversary CD they didn’t bother to use the new audio recorded for smash 4.
So it has 32kHz stuff from some of the older games. Lol.
higher frequencies, whether it be the Mic used or postediting, dropoff after 21 to 22kHz. They just fade into silence. So while it
looks cutoff, they’re actually just super quiet. So this can trick you. Pirates 3 was recorded that way, though. Some quieter stuff looks
compressed while the rest of the blazing thematic cues look pristine. And that’s just how Hans does things, I guess.
In that strictest term, it depends.
If the 16bit is created from the 24bit, it’s still lossless. But not 100%.
The only thing you lose is precision.
Some "studio masters" will be "uncompressed" (dynamic range) and then get brickwalled for CD pressings.
You lose the DR. So not "lossless" by definitive terms.
But if you convert the uncompressed 24bit to 16bit without changing anything, it’s mostly lossless.
Since you can’t keep all the 24bit details in a 16bit file, the dither algorithm will mask any artefacts or destruction observed in the downsampling of bit depth.
But, in terms of the "codec", it is essentially lossless.
The only loss you suffer is the process chain.
All scenarios cannot be done without a certain degree of loss.
Now the real question is: Can you hear that loss?
Some Jedi’s can. Most normal humans won’t. Ever.
Regarding "codecs": (for those who don’t know)
FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) is the most updated lossless codec.
If you view the GitHub over at xiph.org for their FLAC development, they’re still doing updates and bugfixes to the code.
ALAC (Apple Lossles Audio Codec) is no longer developed.
It went open-source, which means the entire source code is freely available for anyone to download and update it or modify it.
But, no one’s doing that. It’s never been touched nor picked up by anyone (even in small, remote communities) since it went open-source.
FLAC > ALAC
ALAC is just like any other Apple product/service: Purely convenience!
Also, who doesn’t like brick walling???
jk.
If the sessions are available in 16bit and 24bit, it doesn’t mean only one can be "true lossless".
Given that all this music can come from any source, it means we’re liable to see some lossy-sourced tracks, for whatever reasons.
Which we’ve seen a lot.
Idk about that. ALAC is to iTunes what FLAC is to VLC.
And my Mac and iPhone are serving me pretty well. Couldn’t make all my film edits without my Mac :p
:smug:

This^
16 and 24 are interchangable imo. As long as it’s not cutoff and compressed, they’re both just lossless.
Also about that, I know the source of these transcodes, and the source of my real sessions. Which are
both very different. They’re in DAK’s hands. He’ll do good with them. Everyone will go home happy. You’ll
all have the real lossless files.
And my Mac and iPhone are serving me pretty well. Couldn’t make all my film edits without my Mac :p
ALAC hasn’t been updated forever.
If you look at the changelog to FLAC, there are even security vulnerabilities patched up since Xiph took over the code.
iTunes updates, but the encoding library for AAC, the changes to their library is closed-source and no employee will reveal the changes to their code.
VLC is open-source and updating a lot, too.
But, what I mean is that ALAC is old and deprecated.
I just found out the other day, that ALAC can’t handle fake-24bit (17-23 bit stored in 24bit container).
FLAC will take 17-23 bit data and place in 24bit FLAC but zero out the data that’s not used. It saves space.
ALAC, on the other hand, cannot do this with 17-23bit. It more or less upscales to full 24bit.
Which is by no means an upgrade of any sort. It’s bloated conversion with larger file size for nothing.
Using FLAC.exe, I was able to see it has a bit depth of 17.
With eac3to, I was able to see it has a bit depth of 16!
So likely it’s a botched conversion from some crap software.
There was no info on the source, so can’t say what it would have been.
If someone was so devout to ALAC as they can be with FLAC, ALAC would be updated to handle scenarios like that.

And upsampling is only good for editing.
One thing to be careful about, when upsampling is to make sure your resampling software is actually a good one.
Going by open statements or common opinion isn’t a reliable way.
Going to this site will show you what resamplers are clean and which ones produce sonic distortion.
http://src.infinitewave.ca/
Right off the bat, Ableton looks far better than "Acon".
And you only need to double the sample rate.
44.1 to 88.2.
48 to 96.
Going higher doesn’t make it "better". You risk greater chance of sonic echoing and other noise creation.
When I did a small edit to mix some of the Mad Max deluxe OST (44.1) into the bluray rip (48), I resampled the OST to 176.4 (4x) to get "accurate" editing.
But all it does is create new noise.
I tried a few "good" resamplers and it still produced noise.
The content from HD digital sales sites are more promising to start with since they’re already at that rate. Direct from source.
Everyone will go home happy. You’ll all have the real lossless files.
Can’t wait. I can finally trim down all the various verions I have of this.
Pretty sure I said this to you only a few days ago (and possibly in another thread), but mine will be the best version yet. Definitive, we’ll call it 😉
DAK’s computer is in the shop for the time being; when it’s fixed we’ll continue working on film edits for TDK and TDKR.
Thanks for the offer, but fortunately I have the audio already and we’re working off that.
It’s turning out really well, hopefully we’ll be able to finish it soon after his Mac is repaired.
I do have the film edit of BB, but it is not mine. It’s Arial’s edit. I have no clue how accurate it is, I just saw it was marked as a film edit and grabbed it. I have it in FLAC, but as Skelly said, my Mac is in the shop and therefore it will have to wait.
And I think you mean TDKR, as this thread is TDK – which is what I’m currently working on and will continue working on, should the guys at the shop be able to fix my Mac without having to wipe the HD.
I did do a very minor film mix of TDKR a while back, but it’s only in MP3. And I half-assed it. It has yet to surface in FLAC, and that’s what’s holding me back. The only reason I’m doing TDK is because it’s been shared with me in pure lossless. When TDKR is shared with me in pure lossless, only then will I start a proper film mix.
So here’s to anyone paying attention! If you wanna privately share TDKR with me in lossless, I’ll make a film edit! 😀

Which one is lossless.
Sorry for this little off topic but, please, take a look at this :
This is not lossless? right ? yet it is the official Spectre soundtrack in FLAC 24-bit available on this forum. Does someone can explain this mystery?
If now official digital platforms sell almost lossless instead of lossless, I ask myself where is the world headed 😀
http://cdn.theatlantic.com/static/video/2012/10/31/NY_power_outage_gif.gif
Indeed. Though I seriously own an album where all the tracks are cut off at 16 khz.
This one will be fairly easy.
Oh DAK, DAK, DAK. You poor bastard. Ignorance is bliss
Enjoy! 😀
