I can no longer edit my Music Nexus thread (Thread 119192) without getting a database error. This had happened with the previous nexus thread before I started using thumbnails for images. Now I can’t even get to the advanced edit page without this error as well. Will this issue be resolved?

Yeah, same thing happened on my end when I tried to go the Go Advanced page through the OP.

But it let me do that just fine with a normal reply.

So strange…

So that’s why your post hasn’t updated since last year, despite your recent releases. Quick question, are you planning on finalizing your Mario Kart 8 OSV?

If there’s no solution to fixing your problem, then I suggest keeping all those links there and making a new thread with only new links. That way you don’t have to copy and paste everything from 2.0 to 3.0.

If I had to take a guess based on various occurrences of this error through the years: too much text+images+code [in short: content] to load at once in a single post.

The content has been split, but this is a temporary workaround.

Yes.

Thanks, Leon. Can you shift each split post under the previous one rather then in between everyone else’s posts?

Bunch of database errors today while just browsing. Seems to be fixed now, though.

I think I ran into a similar issue with my thread here (Thread 188804). Would it be possible to apply the same workaround (i.e. splitting the OP into 5 consecutive posts)? Many thanks!

I’ve had some members in the Film section experience this.

Anyone have an idea what the maximum limit would be for data in a single post?

I imagine not an easy answer, given the variables stated by LSK.

Way back when I was a wee noobie, I broke the rules by posting a Two Steps From Hell Torrent thread. That thread included over 5000 tracknames, along with the names of albums, artists, etc. So there’s a hell of a lot of data.

The last post that worked for me had 144,398 characters, the one with the error is at 146,312. So my guess would be the limit is somewhere in between. Obviously, that is assuming the limit is actually based on size.

That would most likely be because of this:

I’m getting db errors with regularity now. Posting has become really precarious. When I click on "Post Quick Reply" I cross my fingers. Also posts I’ve written have gone missing, but I retain a record/copy of.

I read that earlier. I was just making a statement of fact for the record.
