Recently, I was talking about these three things, and they are as follows:

Fantasia | 1940 | dir. Ben Sharpsteen (supervisor)

This was the most ambitious animated cartoon movie ever attempted; an ambitious and experimental art house blend of cartoon animation with classical music.

2001: A Space Odyssey | 1968 | dir. Stanley Kubrick

The so-called "Ultimate Trip". this is what Stanley Kubrick call "a really good science fiction film" that he wanted to make with Arthur C. Clarke.

And, last but not least:

Samurai Jack: The Birth of Evil: Part I/Part II (TV) | 2003 | dir. Genndy Tartakovsky and Robert Alvarez

The latter is basically the Emmy Award winning origin story of Samurai Jack’s nemesis, Aku, as well as the forging of Samurai Jack’s father’s magic sword, and how Samurai Jack’s father, the Japanese Emperor, imprisons Aku in a tree, ending with the birth of Samurai Jack himself.

Also, here lies my collage tribute to Walt Disney’s Fantasia (1940), Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), and the two parts of Genndy Tartakovsky’s Samurai Jack: The Birth of Evil (2003):

And so, what do you think of Fantasia, 2001: A Space Odyssey and/or Samurai Jack The Birth of Evil Parts 1 and 2, respectively?

And have you ever seen Fantasia, 2001: A Space Odyssey or the Birth of Evil episodes from the Samurai Jack cartoon show?

I’ve never seen any of those in full, but I have seen bits and pieces of Fantasia, so that will be my choice. My favourite scenes from Fantasia are "The Sorcerer’s Apprentice" and "Rhapsody in Blue".

I LOVE The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. One of my all-time favourite classical pieces and one of the best cartoons ever made.

I’m the one who voted for 2001.

But this is comparing apples and oranges and coconuts if you ask me.
