Also there is a decrypt key…what is it?
No problem, buddy. I’ll create the rear cover first thing tomorrow.
Link works, but still requesting a decryption key… Are you still working on that?
Also, I count 31 track names in your list, are there 31 or 33 tracks?
Thanks for uploading BTW…
And the question everybody has: does it include the original docking music? 🙂
Thanks for the upload ^^

But there is a noise in the track :/
So it is official that this movie edit of the track will never see the light of day (except for SFX rips from the movie). Not that I’m suprised about this though.
Also available as higher quality OGG files. Can upload if people want them.
Also this track without the noise? 08M31 Quantifiable Connection
Yes 🙁
I’ve not heard static repetition like that forever.
No idea what’s causing it though.
Doubt it’s part of the actual score.
Though, I’ve never watched the movie so really no idea.
Thanks for the share, anyhow.

AoE had two silent tracks. It’s on Paramount’s end, and it needs to be fixed immediately
Sure thing. They’ll get right on it. :yesssnicholson:

Just distortions.
Watermarks aren’t meant to be audible.

not until the blu ray release at least
Many, many thanks Drunkenmunkey 😉
They might, though. TYAS last year, the Boat Trip to New Orleans track cut off after around 1:40

But thanks so much for this.
no lol hobbit is warner brothers not paramount
It???s Watermarks… it???s to prevent piracy
Um…if they wanted to prevent privacy they shouldn’t have uploaded this on their site, and only distributed this on CDs..
Why on this track?! 😀 Fuck! *lol*
Is the track on the site?
But this is now my best zimmer score! you can tell when a score by Hans is considered personal to him. you can actual feel it when listening!
And weren’t you saying we wouldn’t get Interstellar?
All this time I was about 90% sure we would get it today from the FYC site
and i wonder why What Happens Now? and Where We’re Going aren’t on the site?
Is it could solve?
thank you
Please do! 🙂
I have so many of you guys to thank! Thank you all!
I wouldn’t say it’s watermarked.
Because…
Um…if they wanted to prevent privacy they shouldn’t have uploaded this on their site, and only distributed this on CDs..
Why on this track?! 😀 Fuck! *lol*
Usually when sites put audible interruptions on streamable music, it’s consistent.
For ALL tracks, not just one.
There are really two types of watermarks.
The audible one that involves altering the audibility of the content (common in music streams as previews; Amazon will do this somtimes). But it’s not the conventional watermark that’s intended for anti-piracy.
Real watermarks are invisible to us, in every aspect.
It’s inaudible and doesn’t alter the listenable audio in any fashion.
It’s invisible in any way we try to view it in any software (meta tags, binary, etc).
And, lastly, it sends back information to the owners who paid for the expensive watermark technology.
How it works exactly, don’t know. It’s closed-source software and proprietary. Nearly impossible to reverse engineer unless you have the key to decrypt the audio.
No existing software exists to (the public, nor ANY torrent/warez/society you can access) to decrypt it.
Watermarking for music is much more complex than watermarking for movies with Cinavia protection.
This is likely just an error for whoever uploaded it to the originating website.
Why they won’t fix it? It’s not meant to replace the existing commercial albums.
It’s a free full preview of music, so there’s no need to fix anything they broke.
A lot of studio content are changing employees and we’re seeing the side effects.
This is one of them.
Another is that when the "First Look" teaser trailers came out for Mad Max: Fury Road, you were able to download (for free), a nice 1080i trailer in MOV container that was just over 1GB.
It was extremely high quality, and in stereo PCM, to boot.
The studio distributing that didn’t bother to fix those downloads. But they did get a better handle on future releases for trailers to distribute.
The short answer?
Kids. Damned kids taking over the business as all the old veterans will die shortly so some jackass has to take over their job.
And it’s damned, stinking, snot-nosed little kids. :notgood:
It’s not watermarking, as it would be in ALL tracks, not just the final one.

Flora’s Letter was the working title for Interstellar
Flora is Christopher Nolan’s daughter… and knowing the nature of the film with the father/daughter relationship the working title makes sense
I’m assuming this is from that behind the scenes of the score?
Flora’s Letter is the title of the whole thing… 6m24 is just one cue

now it’s 192k ogg… what’s that equal to in mp3 and m4a?

So I just did this (33 times, of course) and it worked 🙂

I’m at work right now, so I can’t open the files in Adobe Audition’s spectral view to see how better it is from mp3. Usually, ogg files beats mp3 files in everyway!

I did a quick google search and found a forum that said
192k mp3 = 96k ogg
so 192k ogg is insane quality then right?
so 192k ogg is insane quality then right?
Right.
Similarily, AAC is better to MP3 as well.
Between OGG and AAC, that’s a real match to see contended.
AAC is the raw elementary stream.
M4A is the container that holds it.
M4A can hold either AAC or ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec). So whenever you people say "m4a" you should be more specific "m4a/aac; m4a/alac".
oh god. people, please don’t go making a request thread in the request subforums…
I dont know why you are speaking about a request, i think my question can interest other people no?
If you know anything about this forum, you’d expect everyone to create a request thread and beg.
But, generally, your inquiry is yes. There’ll eventually be a CD and a FLAC rip.
We’ve no shortage of FYC flac rips here.
It’s just a matter of time and money.
First someone has to buy the FYC and then decide to rip it (and share it) whenever they want.
This has been the general nature of FYC content on this forum.
But, asking anything, doesn’t help one’s cause to obtain it. Unless you ask to buy it.
But I was poking fun at those who would go create a request thread because they think no one will ever think to share if it’s never been asked before.
That’s the other nature of this forum.
What if the Academy people learned how to use their iPods??? No CD for you, then!

I’m unable to use my personal computer as I’m at work right now… but I found an online converter for OGG to M4A… without changing the sampling rates or anything:
For the first track:
The ogg file is 192kbps (3.96MB)
The converted m4a file is 1162kbps (30.9MB)
So is OGG really lossless????
Maybe I should look more into ogg format as it’s a smaller file size for lossless (but it doesn’t play well with iTunes and other standard media players)
EDIT: I’m an idiot… the converter I was using automatically converts everything to Apple Lossless… so the bit rate really isn’t 1162 lol
FFS is fully busy listening to it’s own noices…
EDIT: And comparing the spectral view of track 26 of both the MP3 and OGG-versions… i would say there is more "activity" in the MP3 version
Furthermore the ogg files have not a constant bitrate (like 192k), they are only in VBR (the avg bitrate is 159k) – that is what foobar shows me.
The 1st track is only 148k.
No. No one said it was lossless.
It’s completely lossy.
It’s just more efficient than MP3.
M4A is not a format. It’s container that holds a format (AAC or ALAC).
Converting OGG to anything else will yield quality loss (except to lossless formats but you really never need to; unless you’re going to edit; which you never really nee to for these "samples").

VBR is always better than CBR. It uses bits where needed.
Technically, OGG is more efficient than MP3 at compression.
Subjetively, that’s all it is: subjective.

I compared the spectrograms of track 1 (both mp3 and ogg files) and for me there isn’t more relevant data in the ogg spectrogram. they are not the same, but almost.

try a blind abx test of the two and tell me which one is better.
foobar2000: Components Repository – ABX Comparator (http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_abx)
spectrograms aren’t everything.
Its simpler than that
the complete score has more ‘silence’ in some tracks at the end
and for some reason Atmospheric Entry’s endnote goes on for far longer in the complete score
The tracks are mixed differently though

I don’t hear anything different but i guess it has to do with my setup here.. I have a x-fi soundcard and the 5.1 Z680 .

Yes! Much better 🙂
I hope Hans knows how much this score has resonated with fans. I am a huge fan of his, but it seems like Interstellar is getting praise from people who normally dislike his work. I don’t like this score nearly as much as Inception, but it’s definitely a great listen. I thought the movie was just alright, but the score is extremely enjoyable.
I prefer the climax of the album version
but the start flows better on the FYC
It has nothing to do with your setup.
If you can’t hear a difference, then one is not better than the other.
They’re the same, for all intents and purposes.
Still it stands that, technically/scientifically, OGG compresses better than MP3.
Especially, at lower bitrates, OGG 64kbps is better than MP3 64kbps.
What we have been proven:
1) the MP3 spectrums show more activity.
2) you can’t hear a difference between the two formats, literally.
So, now it’s just a matter of how much space you want save and how much compatibility you want.
If you use iTunes, you should really move out of your comfort zone and go for Foobar2000.
If you’re on a MAC, then I don’t know what you can do.
Most portable devices (Apple excluded) should be able to play OGG formats. It IS 2014, afterall.
Um the FYC/complete score/sessions/whatever haven’t been released… so it’s not "exactly like Man of Steel"

Those slate numbers are guesses at best.
and why the fuck would anyone include "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night"… that is the worst track ever.
Irrelevant. The question was whether someone could make a complete edit. A complete edit would include that track.
The best fan edit I have heard
Hence its inclusion as "No Time for Caution (Film Edit Recreation)."
And this is why I’m asking if someone can do a complete edit. With everything released thus far, do we not have all the material for the credits? The last part of them are in What Happens Now? anyways…
Maybe from the blu-ray.
Also who wants to take on the task of a complete score for itunes? I.E. putting the new tracks we got today with the stuff officially released for the OST for a complete itunes version?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-gO-z7fp80
The FYC version of No Time for Caution is far better than the OST, I can hear the organ clearly.
Yeah but its still not the film version, doesn’t have vocals, and it’s mixed like garbage. I’ve completely remastered that track and merged it with "Day One – Dark" so it sounds as punchy and as loud as the rest of the tracks. I also own Hans Zimmer’s "The Dark Zebra" and found a preset that by coincidence he used in parts of this track and used it to boost up the "Guitar/Organ" parts in the first half. Added the ending of Wormhole and then added massive pianos and organs and the proper vocals.
I assume some of these new tracks will be available in FLAC come the December release of the "Milking The Fans Edition"?
"08M31 Quantifiable Connection" is the end credits? no?
What is FYC?
What do you mean by bluray release? 5.1 OST like in the Inceptions Bonus Disc?
Will the complete score (paramount links) be released on a CD? Or It will be just Illuminated Star Projection Edition?
Im so excited right now… Please answer my questions in a more explained fashion.

I have an audio recording from when I saw it in IMAX… but about halfway through you hear people talking and making noise… one of them lost their keys or something lol

I doubt it… The new edition will most likely only contain suites and demos
I knew that though.

No, they will be available in FLAC come whenever someone posts a rip of the physical disc
And 08M31 Quantifiable Connection without the noise 🙂
of course, just matter of time
Well, before listening to it, at least.
For example, I don’t think you would be able to fully appreciate "Stay" without having seen the moment in the movie that it accompanies.
yes, unless you can affort a bunch of hundreds of dollars on ebay auctions………Yeah! better wait, my though.

Yeah, like the code name for TDKR (Magnus Rex), which it was in the sheets. Though the sheets of Inception and the other Batman scores had the movies’s names.
Also, I’ll see if it’s possible to fix the last track if there are similar sounds from other tracks or from the track itself, but no promises
Yeah, that baby is broken. We’ll have to wait for a better version.
It’s in IMAX in general
My viewings:
11/6 8:00pm Digital IMAX (Premiere)
11/8 1:20pm 70mm IMAX
11/21 7:05pm Digital IMAX
All 3 times it was the piano piece
Is it different for non-IMAX screenings?
Proof?
I haven’t seen people talk about it tho…
I honestly don’t think it will be any different.
The length of the movie is the same for all formats.
The IMAX credits are 5 minutes actually
There was no ripping involved… was a simple right click and save link as

This still doesn’t answer my question at all. I know what it means, I originally reminded everyone here that Flora was Nolan’s daughter. I simply asked because 6M24 on the FYC is Coward, so I was wondering if that’s another name for that cue, or what? Is there two different cues for 6M24? Like an ‘a’ and ‘b’?

Not necessarily..some FYC discs have had problems like this. TYAS Boat Trip to New Orleans cut-off after a minute or so, as I stated before. I just hope to God that they fixed these problems before distributing them…and I really hope they’re not lossy sourced..
my edit of the complete score 😉
"Quantifiable Connection" belongs between "S.T.A.Y." and "What Happens Now?" In fact, in the film, those tracks flow into each other.
Also, just so everyone knows, "Quantifiable Connection" from the FYC isn’t exactly the film version. The film’s is longer, and the beginning is edited to match the events on screen.
I couldn’t resist the hype and went to see Interstellar to IMAX and besides the fact that I had to cover my ears through half of the movie (especially through 04M16B They’re Not Mountains) thanks to how loud the sound was, I just didn’t get why it was so much hyped. I’d say the movie is average and I don’t think I’ll watch it again (and I love sic-fi movies) so I don’t understand why someone like my friend would go and see it 5 times last week. Also, I — again — can’t remember any of the cues. Some of them build nicely, were emotional and good but not worth worshiping as I see so many of people around me do so…
There are so many better scores. Even Zimmer has done better. Much better. Guess everyone has their taste… I, as my avatar might give a little hint, love HTTYD. Not only because of the movie but for the playful, recognizable music. It has so many rememberable cues that you can sing/whistle/play/love…
I’ve heard people whistle film themes and instantly recognize them. Not sure I’d recognize this.
What’s your opinion and why does this score drag so much attention?
Blu-ray release would be the best option.

Damn! Where are all these scores coming from?

No, they will be available in FLAC come whenever someone posts a rip of the physical disc
I think Noah, TF4: AoE, and Interstellar will all be two disc sets..if they release all that they’ve put on their Guilds website.

Thanks, Lockdown. I’ll take your advice and wait for the Blu-Ray release.
No need to be rude, you were having a fit yesterday because scorepranos wouldn’t explain to you how he ripped off the Paramount Guilds website. You eventually found out, but that doesn’t mean you have to be rude. He technically did rip this from the site because you cannot download the files in an archive or something of that sort. They have to be ripped individually by their URL..which takes some time, depending on what method you use.
If we have the score sheets, we would able to figure out this!! One thing I’m sure of, the FYC isn’t the complete score/sessions…whatever!! They missing many cues.
I mean, it would most likely have the best quality option possible, because I really don’t believe that the End Credits cue will be on the Illimunated Star Projection box-set. I really really hope Paramount releases an Isolated Score, the music touched many people throughout this film, different cues have different effects on people and it’s great that this soundtrack can really be enjoyed by anyone. I don’t understand why someone could dislike this score, but that’s just me. Hopefully they’ll release the IMAX release on a 3D Blu-ray or something so that we can get both End Credits cues, if what everyone is talking about is true….them being different..between the IMAX and Standard.

I feel like scorepranos and Drunkennmunkey just labeled them Complete Score to get recognition. I don’t think TF4 is complete either. I mean hell, it’s missing The Legend Exists…which I believe personally, that’s an important cue! Noah is the only thread labeled correctly, imo.
Not for a while. Sheet tradings are almost dead (Pianofiles is closing down next week and the replacement site has nothing new, I’ve lost a couple of contacts for posting too many sheets here). Scorepranos has a few but he hasn’t got new sheets since a year. Like I’ve mentioned, Flora’s Letter is the codename for Interstellar, just like Magnus Rex was for The Dark Knight Rises. The previous Nolan/Zimmer scores/films didn’t had codenames in the sheets.
You also stated that we wouldn’t get this type of treatment for the FYC for Interstellar either. I hope they do, though. I understand what you mean though..
Zimmer made it blatanly clear doing Nolan’s Batman trilogy that he didn’t want an easy theme you can whistle or hum.
I think it’s safe to say that he’s adopted this style from that point onward.
Not for every score, but if you can’t easily recognize anything, he’s doing it again.
Everyone’s opinion is quite clear: that everyone has a different taste.
Zimmer’s "ambience" isn’t so bad as Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor.
They put the least effort in anything.
Gone Girl was just a bunch of Hz tones.
TGTDT is also very lengthy and drony.
And TSN.
I think Book of Eli was the most organic score they’ve composed that wasn’t done with letting a cat sit on your keyboard while you record everything.
You’ve been here since 2007 and still think a Zimmer thread is something new? :eye:
No. It just still amazes me 🙂
And look what happened, we got it. Now because I said that, everyone gets to tell me "I told you so", and it was a pleasant surprise, was it not? This backs up my statement I made here:
Yes, but you should always expect the worst when it comes to things. If you don’t expect Interstellar and it ends up not only having an FYC, but being near complete with film mixes, then that makes your day. If you do expect it and we get dick, it’s a huge let-down.
You’re welcome 😉
Nolan doesn’t like 3D, but IMAX.
BINGO! Thank you. WB even pushed him to shoot Inception in 3D, but he wouldn’t have any of it
I couldnt hum it no, but it stuck in my mind
Not every soundtrack needs to have easy listening music. It depends on the movie
But hey I like Reznor, so disregard my opinion or whatever
Why is everyone thinking IMAX and standard cinema will be different?
How many IMAX movies have there been where the studios released different prints of the film to have different end credits?
IMAX is great but not THAT special as you hope it to be.
The only way the end credits will be different is if there’s an extended edition created, ala LoTR trilogy.
They would never go out of their way to create a new end credits only to have to pay more for the licencing on new music.
People you should put this rubbish ideal out of your head.
And 3D BD is only for movies that were 3D in theaters.
Or if you buy them from Eurpean countries, because they’ll do that shit no matter what.
Nolan isn’t a 3D person.
Or a high frame rate person.
He’s conventionally cinematic that loves IMAX.

Actually, this is the second Paramount film to be different because it’s the IMAX version. TF2 had (although brief) additional IMAX shots
I was "having a fit" because he wouldn’t say the link -.-

The only difference between IMAX and non-IMAX for TF2 was that the forest battle sequence was in IMAX
It’s Hans Zimmer. I once said if the "Man Of Steel" score was nothing more than Zimmer banging two frying pans together people would still cum all over themselves for it, and that’s just the way it seems to be. If it’s Zimmer, it’s the best most brilliant most innovative work of sheer genius ever made while every single composer who isn’t Zimmer (Williams, Horner, Elfman, etc) are pathetic amateurs who cannot and will not ever come close to the complete greatness that is Hans Zimmer.
That may sound like complete hyperbole and even a bit of lunacy, but look around and you’ll see that’s the effect Zimmer seems to have on many of his fans all over the internet. It’s not everyone, no, but the most vocal and exaggerated of fans really leave that impression because they are indeed so loud in their praise and worship.
And no, that’s not a criticism of "Man Of Steel" or "Interstellar", or any other score he’s done. It’s just an observation of the more extreme side of Zimmer’s fandom.
I did a google search and it didn’t show any different time lengths.
TF2 IMAX was extended by 31 seconds. Doubtful that was enough to change end credits.
But nothing shows up about Interstellar having different run times.
It’s all just presented in different formats.
Well he had no reason to tell us, he honestly ripped everything from the site and posted it here so that we didn’t have to do the same.
Inappropriate flamewar-starting Zimmer hate post.
Nolan also said he could easily have converted the film, because he admitted the film’s cinematography lent itself to a 3D presentation.
That was your only goal in this thread?
To start shit?
There was an additional shot of Optimus drop-kicking Starscream during the forest battle, and additional shots of Devastator forming at the end.
To start shit?
Oh, no. Sorry if it seems like it was my intention to start flame. I just couldn’t help but laugh at the way JHFan described it. Brilliant writing. Now that I think of my post, I’m sorry, and I will remove that 🙂
I’m picturing it in my mind, it’s hilarious 😀

Couldn’t resist but when that sentence I just thought one thing: BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHM
To start shit?
It’s only "shit" if you’re one of the fanatics I described.
If you’re not, then you know that the real fanatics will indeed think of it as starting shit.
Remove it? What the hell? What for? There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with that you said!
Everyone can offer an observation and ask "just what is it" about a score. You didn’t bash Zimmer, neither did I. You didn’t badmouth the score, neither did I.
You have no reason at all to remove anything.
Hey, I get you don’t like him but how about not starting this war again, ok? 🙂
Remove it? What the hell? What for?
Not a fan of starting a flame war. I get it and I liked your opinion but I think my post was one of those. But again hey, this is the Internet, so… who the fuck cares, right?
Already? It’s awards season lol
I’m not starting a war and I didn’t say anything in my post about not liking him. Read it again to see. I made a point about saying that it was NOT a criticism of this score. I simply stated the obvious that anyone can find for themselves. If those I described decide to "start a war" over it, that’s on them, not me.
Also if I wasn’t interested in this score at all, I would not have downloaded it….THREE TIMES as different versions have come out.
I like it.
Maybe you should look into these films with these fonts:
– New Movie Trailers
– Inception
– The Dark Knight Trilogy
Try "Gotham"

I don’t. Usually instead of these so-called ‘flame wars" I’ll just close the tab and look up FailArmy videos on YouTube.
Not at the moment, I’m afraid.
it’s called "patience"
Yeah thank you Scorepranos! and Drunkenmunkey for posting it!
no it isnt, to make sure i just watched the scene from a pirated camrip torrent.
i despise these type of "quality" for various reasons, but sometimes i have to get them to compare music cues to the OST tracks when i hear differences in tempo, rythm etc in a cue i liked in the movie, then hear in the ost.
the track available is, as i said in another thread, as recorded, so it counts as the original. however in the movie it was spiced up with more organs (and higher volume), and some chorus (taken from mountains) among other addons.
Having played with the track in Audition I can only determine the amount of noise reduction required would render the track even more unlistenable than it already is. The artifact occupies the full spectrum and can’t be isolated.
That static on QC, haha. It makes me so sad I laugh a little and then cry.
To me, "ripped" (when talking about music files on the net, not physical CDs) sounds more like when someone start the music to play on the site, and then use a software to record or "capture" the music … which would sound like crap in comparison.

No. It’s still ripping.
You’re not supposed to be aware the tracks can be saved.
You’re not supposed to be aware the tracks can be saved.
OK, it’s the presence of a clickable link or not on the site, which decides wether it’s "ripping" or not…
So if I first save a direct link to a file, like this: http://downloads.paramount.com/mp/awards2013/interstellar/1.mp3, and then right click it, and select save as…, it would not be "ripping" ? .. or would it be "ripping" regardless, since I’m not "supposed to be aware the tracks can be saved" ?! 😉
I’d prefer the word "download", too. Once you got the files’ URLs right, it’s not that hard to just download, even easier to feed that URL list to a download manager.
to add a little information to this thread of guessings, useless discussions about taste and quick attempts at custom covers (really, it’s beginning to tire me, sry): the audio of OGGs and MP3s is the same. the "artifacts" just sound like the FYC CD-R is faulty. A burning issue rather than a ripping error. and it hasn’t been corrected since it’s been officially online.
so, why just not wait for a FLAC rip of a better FYC disc version? AND for the super-duper-deluxe edition? AND who says that Quantifiable Connection is NOT on that edition??! what we have now can be distilled to two releases. album (including deluxe) and fyc. just be thankful for that material, listen to it and stfu. 😉
and don’t waste your time making hasty edits and editions while we’re still waiting for two releases, really. life has so much more to offer! ^^

I was waiting for someone to offer some sonic/musical perspective regarding the whole thing. Thank you. And I won???t download this complete version. Zimmer-material tends to play better in abbreviated, non-chronological form (there are exceptions though).

Wow, I honestly felt like they flew by in a matter of 3 minutes! Thanks for clarifying! But someone just mentioned how the regular print has more music in the middle. So the whole different end credits runtime debate continues…And if this is true, I assume the other suite is in the 6-7 minutes realm. Which is about average for a movie now.

Why don’t you guys just go see it again in theaters. Not the IMAX way.
Time it this time around.
We’re just used to CD-rips.
Pretty sure I’ve seen some threads here titled "web-rip".
My thread for the HTTYD 2 FYC had a title like that. It was definitely a misnomer on my part.
It’s not a misnomer.
Other sites use "web rip" to designate the source. I see "web-rip" all the time.
Just not here.
Regarding the word "Download"…
"Web-DL" is reserved for official downloads, where you, the downloader are given legal rights and access to download.
Such as iTunes.
Soundtracks bought off iTunes are labelled "Web-DL" in other places, so many more presitigous sites than this one.
Amazon digital purchases, bandcamp, etc.
They’re all Web-DL because you are given an official, designated direct download link.
"Web-rip" is when you are not given a direct download link.
Right-clicking and using "save as" is not the same as a direct download link.
Using a download manager to sniff the site is not the same as a direct download link.
If you have to use any trick to download where there isn’t a download button/link, then you are doing a "web-rip".
It doesn’t matter, either, if it’s a site known to have available downloads.
Soundcloud will allow a maximum number of downloads for a free account (to the hosted user).
Expensively paid subscribers can put an unlimited number of downloads on their profiles.
But, for those who reached their maximum or opted to not have any downloads, you can still download the streamable MP3.
The MP3 that’s used to play during streaming on their profile.
But you have to "rip" it from the site.
Web-DL vs. Web-Rip.
A lot of sites, and especially private sites, will use these terms as such.
Time it this time around.
I thought about this, but I honestly didn’t love the movie and definitely did not enjoy it enough to warrant seeing it two more times. However, I do love the score.
I actually saw MoS when it came out a second time just to record the end credits suite so I could reconstruct it at home using the score.
There are people who loved this movie that probably are willing to watch it again and record the credits for each version. I’m just not one of them.
 I’d love to hear the conversation on that one if they get caught.

funny, i generally like zimmer’s scores but batriology and superman 6 had really forgetful (and way too similar) scores.
nothing about them stand out (except the theme for the joker, and even then…).
he should have played homage to the burton and superman (dont know the director of those) movies and had a cue with THE batman and super man themes, like in the raimi spiderman movies where some random dude played and sang the 70’s spiderman theme.
play me zimmer’s bat theme and then play me zimmer’s superman theme without telling me which is which, and i cannot say which is which.
not so with the original themes.
one time i saw a youtube video where they had a classroom full of kids (back in like 2008) where the teacher played out all 3 major batman themes. some of the kids had never seen the 60’s show and they still knew that was the batman theme. (they said they have seen the references in the simpsons and other cartoons).
That post is so all over the place, it’s hard to pin point a point.
You started with one point and then veered off into a tangent without so much using the blinkers.
It was already well established the nature of Zimmer’s work for Nolan’s work.
With his experimentation in Dolby Pro Logic (Sherlock Holmes), Bluray audio (Inception), 11.1 matrixing with Dolby (MoS), it’s not surprising that he’s going to use pencil tapping for scoring. He has a short attention span these days with all the new advancements in technology, he’s not going to stay confined.
If he’s that enthusiastic about difference, he’s not really going to be that interested in developing a melody that a 5 year old can play on a recorder or those plastic tubes.
I’m not surprised that kids today are not likely to have watched even the The Movie with Nelson Riddle’s score.
With cheesy animation drawings like Beware the Batman, everything has changed from even the 90’s.
Kid’s won’t care to watch Batman: TAS, since it’s traditional animation and not digital.
Even today’s conventional animation is a completely different style. It’s almost anime.
Phineas and Ferb is a great show, but nothing we’d ever see back in the 90’s.
But, then, I don’t expect kids to really desire to learn something so chaotic as Zimmer’s non-melody Batman theme.
Maybe one or two, if they’re huge nerds. But the most who join the band class aren’t really there to be major score enthusiasts.
I expect they’re more about turning One Direction and other crap into flutey music. :notgood:
When they grow up, they’ll be that one guy who breaks out a recorder in the moshpit to jam with the band.

Well, good news. The DVD Screener seems to have leaked (Same with others like Fury, Annie, Mr. Turner).
Bound to end up in the news for a major piracy sting.
DVD Screeners are the biggest way to get caught. Especially if you’re in the States using ComCast.
Best to wait for the blurays to surface.
Actual bluray quality, not BRrips or anything where it would use the DTS core or create a TrueHD core.
There’s some technically apt people on the forum that can bit-for-bit extract the lossless bluray audio.
It’s not going to stop studio lawyers from launching cases.
The Expendables always had a leak but always had cases open on it.
Who does it and why doesn’t change that you’re going to get caught.
Source?
How do you know this??
You can google that and see results about it.
As for Interstellar DVD Screener, probably a torrent site or a forum with direct download links.
If anything should get watermarked, it’s those.
And they probably are, why it was so easy for Lionsgate to defend Expendables.
A different "watermark".
I’ve posted a couple times about the watermarking encryption in audio.
Almost like Cinavia, but not so easy to crack like Cinavia.

I think you can find the full version of the track with this info (http://adtunes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106688&p=811884&viewfull=1#post811884).
Well, I guess I did it wrong then cause I was literally holding my phone outwards and towards the screen LOL. No but seriously, it’s really not necessary to do that. I always rest mine on my left leg and just let that bitch record. I think the only reason I held my phone outwards was cause I wanted to record as clean as possible, but still – everyone was running their mouths and my brother sitting next to me even opened his. When I go again I’m gonna try recording again, there should be way less people.
If anything should get watermarked, it’s those.
And they probably are, why it was so easy for Lionsgate to defend Expendables.
When I was at the expendable premiere I over heard a producer of the expendables saying that they (the studio) had to leak it because they knew it wouldn’t do well and be able to open a lawsuit to regain back a load of cash because some studios take out Insurances on their movies if they don’t make much because of leaked screeners etc
The first Expendables, or one of the sequels?
Does anyone where this came from?
Edit: Okay, the chorus sounds so terrible that it must be a fan mix.
You don’t say??? Did you think HZ himself uploaded it?
expendables 3
Also, did anyone manage to get a clean rip of "Quantifiable Connection" or manage clean it up a bit?
Hmm, which tracks? I haven’t listened to the entire thing yet and you’re the first to bring this up (that I’ve noticed, anyway)

Stay as well, it sounds like to rocket’s engine sounds are audible near the end of the cue.
I hear it in 2m08 Stay. But maybe that’s an actual part of the score and the OST version is the one that was changed? After all, half of Gravity’s OST/FYC was noise…
Other than that, I don’t really have an answer
Other than that, I don’t really have an answer
Maybe they created those sounds for the given film which provides them the right to use it in their own musical score cues? Who knows… it would make sense with Price’s Gravity. I didn’t think about this until now, but Steven was hired for Sound Design before he was hired as the Composer. Maybe Steven created those sound effects you hear in the OST / FYC which allows him to present them on his FYC. Aurora Borealis comes to mind. I mean, he won the Oscar for Best Original Score, so he had better created those sounds, or that would have provided him an unfair advantage, I guess.
Does that make any sense at all?

That makes more sense.
I remember watching the first 2 trailers (teaser being the first thing I saw) in HD.
Not youtube HD, but that movie-list premium-subscription HD.
I believe the first trailer is available in 2K/4K.
Again, not shitty youtube 2K/4K either.
I distinctly remember hearing the first two way more than the other last 2 trailers as only the first 2 were provided in real HD.

Anywhere to get those other trailer tracks?
Well, Thomas Bergersen has a solo album "Sun" which has "Final Frontier", but that’s a no-public-link artist here at FFS.
The other track, no idea.
The original upload from Paramount was damaged: http://downloads.paramount.com/mp/awards2013/interstellar/33.mp3
Any ideas on how we can find our way to a proper version of this wonderful track?
Yes. New rip, direct from the CD.
So, wait for it, it’ll appear one day, it is necessary.
So, wait for it, it’ll appear one day, it is necessary.
Thank you. I’m getting tired of repeating myself, I feel like a broken record.
PG13 rating of an R rated series always means doom.
instead of seeing mel gibson die in a glorious explosion of his entrails or something awesome, he was just disneykilled.
thats extremely fucking lame.
instead of seeing mel gibson die in a glorious explosion of his entrails or something awesome, he was just disneykilled.
thats extremely fucking lame.
That’s why I have to purchase the Unrated Version instead.
Why pay when you can download a perfectly good Blu-ray rip?
There was no blood added to the unrated version.
People getting hit by a cable wire on a speeding train only got hit and pushed off to the side.
They weren’t split in half like Die Hard 3.
There’s just longer cuts of the carnage.
No blood squibs, no digital blood. Just… I don’t know.
It was still a fun movie.
And supposedly the upcoming Deadpool movie is back to being PG-13 now, too. Really stupid decision by Fox on that one. Deadpool NEEDS to be R.
I assume that Marvel Comics is a Disney company. With the exception of the Blade trilogy (another Marvel character) released by New Line Cinema/Warner Bros. Pictures… I could be wrong though.
Considering that all the previous X-Men films have not been rated R and turned into PG-13 children’s movies, it’s not surprising they toned down The Green Lantern.
I mean Ryan Reynolds.
I read somewhere that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was supposed to be rated R.
That would have been a better movie. The betrayals and losses in that movie would have been more believable.
It looked more like a stage opera more than anything.
Unrated The Wolverine was actually unrated, because they added details to the movie.
Not just story details, but gore and blood.
Wolvie’s claws have blood on them and a few strands of hair. It’s gotten a CG gore upgrade over the theatrical version.
And it proved a lot.
 We’ve gone off topic.
Marvel is Disney owned, except where Fox still owns the X-Men universe.
Blade trilogy was completed well before Disney bought out Marvel.
And then there’s Sony owning the Spider-Man universe.
So while Disney owns most of the Marvel universe, other studios still own parts.
Disney has The Avengers universe.
Except when they do their version of Quicksilver, Scarlett Witch joins while we lose SW in the X-Men movies.
There was a long legal battle over the rights to Quicksilver.
Disney/Avengers can have QS+SW but never mention their association with the X-Men, never mention they are "mutants" (word is illegal in Disney/Avengers now; maybe called "Inhuman" ? or whatever that 2020 movie is slated to be), and they can never mention who their father is (Magneto).
Fox/X-Men can have QS but no SW. Ever. They can’t mention he was part of the Avengers team, ever.
I think Fox mostly wins because the whole idea behind the X-Men is trying to attain mutant-rights so all live as equals.
Sure, we lose his sister, but he gets to keep his identity as a mutant ("Mutant and proud").
Plus, we don’t get the incestuous overtones that we will be given in The Avengers Age of Ultron. (Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) – Trivia – IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2395427/trivia?item=tr2209319) trivia should be at the top of the page)
"Marvel Ultimates" comic is famous for featuring a controversial story-line between Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. According to Elizabeth Olsen, while this particular aspect would not be overtly present in the film, she and Aaron Taylor-Johnson "played around" with certain parts of it: "Every time you see an image of them, they’re always holding each other’s hand and looking over each other’s shoulder. They’re always so close, it’s almost uncomfortable. Aaron and I have been playing a little bit with those kinds of images just for ourselves."
In Godzilla (2014), they played husband and wife.
In A:AoU, they will play brother and sister husband and wife.
dead on arrival.
im sure it will be a good movie, but if it were R, it would have been a fantastic movie.
i fully expect DP to break the fourth wall once by acknowledging its a movie and say something like "uh, whats my next line? someone hand me over the script, quick!"
We really need a FLAC rip, don’t we? 😀
Talking about Marvel, the Avengers Age of Ultron site is up, and apparently, it has music by Brian Tyler. Sounds more like trailer music to me, but I love it anyways.
What a f*** nice score!
Golden Globes noms :
BEST ORIGINAL SCORE – MOTION PICTURE
ALEXANDRE DESPLAT: THE IMITATION GAME
J???HANN J???HANNSSON: THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING
TRENT REZNOR, GONE GIRL ATTICUS ROSS
ANTONIO SANCHEZ: BIRDMAN
HANS ZIMMER: INTERSTELLAR
I’d love that Interstellar wins, but I have a feeling it will be Treznor or Sanchez 🙁
I’d love that Interstellar wins, but I have a feeling it will be Treznor or Sanchez 🙁
Watch it be J???hannsson in typical Golden Globe fashion of picking the out-of-the-box choice.
Edit: or like the guy above says, it could be Desplat so they can push him to finally win an Oscar. Desplat winning for that film would be like Pacino finally winning Actor for Scent of a Woman tho.
Much appreciate the link!!!
And supposedly the upcoming Deadpool movie is back to being PG-13 now, too. Really stupid decision by Fox on that one. Deadpool NEEDS to be R.
No. These movies don’t NEED to be R rated. A good movie is created with a strong script, performances and direction. Box office success is a different thing entirely. You can make an excellent thriller or superhero film with a PG rating. Expendables 3 would have been a success if the audience wanted to see it.
It’s like most of today’s comic book writers who think using profanity and being all "dark" means you are making an adult comic.

And guess what? The audience clearly did not want to see it. I didn’t go see it in theatres, I downloaded it. So glad I saved myself $12. It sucked, it was horrible.
I agree with you for the most part that a rating shouldn’t carry the film, but give me an example of a Marvel or DC film that can be rated PG. Please, enlighten me. I’m all ears.
Anyone know if this includes the FYC score as opposed to normal OST or deluxe version?

I saw this the other day. If you look at the pictures (which I’m assuming you didn’t), it’s obviously the OST
This I agree with. He should have got the nod for The Grand Budapest Hotel instead.
Again, this has nothing to do with quality of content. A good movie that doesn’t sell is worse than a crap movie that does. Movies with excellent scripts with great directors attached never get made because finance falls through. In few special scenarios, some of the more risky studios recognize cult-status potential in some films and green light them based on that.
Deadpool would’ve been R if there was literally no other way to do the movie. But, public interest polls might have indicated a wide range of audiences who were interested, similar to what happened with the X-Men movies.
Now obviously there are a ton of movies that would never benefit from an R rating. I totally agree with that. But The Expendables and Deadpool are two that definitely do benefit.
And I apologize for going off-topic, but I just wanted to give my reason why I believe what I said earlier in the thread.
Now let’s hope Hans’ Interstellar score gets an Oscar nomination, too!!!
The Oscar noms usually follow in the footsteps of the Globes, but not always. Fingers crossed.
Many years have passed with people frustrated that their favorite score didn’t get the big award, but it’s more to do with how effective the winning score is for that winning Best Picture. Not as music on its own merits.
Basically, if Interstellar does not get any Best Picture nomination or win, don’t expect its score to win either. Expect whichever film that wins Best Picture to also walk away with the Best Score win, as the logic follows that the best picture had the best score for it and had the best director make that film.
Of course this isn’t 100% of the time, but it makes a logical, reasonable sense when it happens and favorites lose out or total out-of-left field scores take the award home.
True dat.
Kind of unfair to the musicians. But true
Oh yes, you are so right. That’s a delightful score. The Anderson/Desplat collaboration is probably one of the best things to happen to film.
It seems that many award nominations and especially wins for music are directly correlated to nominations / wins for Best Picture, which really makes sense.

Since 1999 the Best Original Score has been tied to the Best Picture Oscar only 3 times, so in terms of winning that is not correct. In terms of nominations, however, it is.
Now, I don’t expect the Score winner to be related to he Best Picture winner this year as I can easily see Birdman taking the win for Best Picture. As much as I love the film and its music, I don’t think is the kind of score they like to honor. If they go bananas for Imitation Game, then yeah, Desplat could take gold home and as I said, is going to be his "Pacino" moment.
I’m personally predicting Desplat even if Birdman or Boyhood wins film. Many times, Score serves as a consolation prize (see Babel, Finding Neverland, Atonement) and Desplat’s contribution could easily be the spot where they reward Imitation Game, as other films deserve more the big ones, imho.
Whoa, really? So who gets in its place if we take the Globes as a reference. The Judge? Foxcatcher? One of the other 100 films from Desplat?
Yep, Whiplash and Foxcatcher are not eligible as well – Oscars: 114 Scores in Contention for Top Prize | Variety (http://variety.com/2014/film/news/oscars-114-scores-in-contention-for-top-prize-1201378468/)
I think How to Train Your Dragon 2 has a good chance of getting nominated now… or maybe The Homesman? Who knows maybe they will nominate Inherent Vice or Selma.
Interstellar – Inception
How to Train Your Dragon 2 – How to Train Your Dragon
Gone Girl – The Social Network
The Imitation Game – The King’s Speech
Ya, I couldn’t decide who’d fill in for Rahman…so I just left that one out.
Listening to it again… sounds like a fax machine or an old printer was used for some cues.
Zimmer has this one in the bag.
I’ve been thinking that for the last 5 years, especially with Inception. According to iTunes, Interstellar is the top soundtrack of the year. Every time I feel like he has a chance of winning, he loses. His last win was 19 years ago….
He’s like the Leo DiCaprio of composers…
I would say Peter O’Toole. The man never wan an Oscar, so a few years ago they awarded him the honorary Oscar. At least he got some kind of recognition before he passed away last year…

The end is What Happens Now?
but the middle part I don’t think has been released

I hope the FYC is released on disc and whoever gets it rips it in lossless format and posts it here.
Also hope the FYC on a disc doesn’t have the errors on Quantifiable Connection
And saw the film again on Saturday (last weekend it’s showing on the digital IMAX screens in my town) and "Stay" off the FYC is the film version
I wanted to check because it is different from the OST version
As it should be. Is the entire FYC not all film versions? I know various tracks differe from the OST
Fingers crossed though
No Time for Caution isn’t

Looking forward for the extra tracks. I doubt Murph is the damaged track, since they announced it was new music not heard before.
Fingers crossed though
The damaged track is unreleased.
The FYC is NOT an official release… by never heard before they mean not on the 16 track OST or deluxe OST
Because it doesn’t exist, just like the film mix of Optimus
Those music editors are way underrated.
And Interstellar once… what is wrong with you?????
I’ve only seen a film once, what is wrong with me? That IS the question. Could it be that movies in NY are upwards of 12? Could it be that I’m behind paying 2 student loans and an auto loan? Could it be that I’m behind on car insurance and my phone bill, and also rent? Could it be that I’m busy with other things or just can’t seem to find the right time? Could it be that I’ve spent my money (which should have gone to bills and loans) on people other than myself for Christmas? I don’t know. You decide 😉
Agreed. I’ve read on HZ.com, that cue actually written by Andrew Kawczynski, so not that epic! Here’s a fan cover http://youtu.be/r_wL3ZhTn9E
The one unreleased cue, I like is Saving Lois/You Can Save All Of Them. Not bad, it had a nice theme.. http://youtu.be/0wAAnQqRq6A
The one unreleased cue, I like is Saving Lois/You Can Save All Of Them. Not bad, it had a nice theme.. http://youtu.be/0wAAnQqRq6A
Just because it is written by someone else doesn’t mean it’s less epic to me. Listen to it in the film, it’s fucking badass.
Same in Ohio.. an IMAX ticket is $15-$17 depending on where you go… for digital… but I got the AMC Unlimited pass so it doesn’t really cost me anything anymore 😉
I have paid my way through college and have a car loan as well (You’ll get no sympathy from me here)
Maybe if you didn’t spend all your money on vinyls 😛 (But I do appreciate this as I don’t see anybody else ripping vinyls)
"We’ll find a way; we always have."
I have money put away for Christmas (which I should probably get my shopping done lol)
Still, Saving Lois is better. ;p
Isn’t that the same scene as Escape from Ship?
Yeah, it has two different cues. Check the YouTube links, I posted above.
I just watched that scene from my Blu-ray rip in iTunes….it’s the same cue. Unless they’re overlapped, but we’ll never know

The Pink Floyd of Lazer Shows.
It’s only available to USA residents only. :/
I was really thinking of forgoing my World of Warcraft subscription just to order this nice boxset.
But, now, piracy has led me to the ultimate medium where supporting the artist is purely an American aspiration.
🙁 Woe is me.
You can buy it thru ebay, like I wanna to… somewhere in 2015. Even in ‘mint’ factory sealed quality.
Pfffffffffffffffffffffffft… Don’t think that I didn’t think about that.
It’s a rich-man’s game at this point.
Only initial buyers from USA and resellers will profit the most.
No matter the service, I will lose money (as a Canadian).
The pure fact that I will have to convert CDN to whatever Pooristan currency, I’ll still end up loosing money no matter what.
If not on the currency conversion, but just the S&H.
The Matrix Reloaded? $45 CDN after initial conversion + S&H. (even the S&H had to be converted to USA currency).
The CDN dollar sucks. Pure sucks.
Even just $16.99 USA to $CDN for "Into The Woods" turns out to be $19.99 for me.
I highly doubt anyone would put it on eBay as so low a price they lose money on what they paid for.
It’s like "World of Warcraft". The whole conecpt of an Auction House is purely depressing and a waste of time.
India and Australia were perceived as poor.
It’s just copyright laws. What countries permit and what some countries do not permit, it’s beyond me.
It’s even beyond the perception of the composers involved.
More often than not, the composers are struggling to get a CD release out.
Steve Jablonsky had to fight tooth&nail to get a CD out for Transformers: Age of Exinction.
He also explained why there isn’t an interest in having a CD release or even producing more CD releases if the initial sales reach or exceed the contractual slated release number.
Non-North American countries struggle the most to obtain legal rights to purchase the soundtrack for themselves.

This is the FYC, this year the rules have been changed to reflect what’s heard in the film and not written for the film. It’s like that in the film, so yes it’s supposed to abruptly end like that.
Repairing what is on the Paramount FYC site (http://www.paramountguilds.com/interstellar/score/) was impossible, so this has to be from a different FYC source. I doubt this is ‘Murph, ‘Organ variation’ or ‘Tick-tock’ from deluxe CD2.
If the Google drive download (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8d4JBiBKOuHMkVpZjZZZjBfbU0/view?pli=1) issue is browser-related, it worked fine for me in Firefox.
What makes you say it’s impossible?
Not browser-related.
It’s bandwidth-related.
I’m on firefox (fully updated) and it wouldn’t let me download.
If you leave the link in JDownloader, it will check every hour when you load the link to see when you can download it.
Google Drive is a limited-resoure file host, since it’s not intended for large-volume-traffic, such as us pirateers.

What makes you say it’s impossible?
I think mostly because any sort of fix would destroy it more than desired.
It’s already a lossy source, so any heavy filtering or altering (combined with the secondary lossy transcode) would cause way more damage than intended.
The static is likely to share some of the higher ends of the music spectrum and would destroy those parts.
Even if you were to be sophisticated and try match "fingerprint" music samples of what’s already avaiable.
"Impossible" is used in case where you don’t want to persue any further than what’s provided (lossy sources).
"Undesireable" is probably more accurate.
I wouldn’t touch that edit with Zimmer’s computer~
The static crosses every frequency…it’s completely trashed.
I’ve heard it’s not possible, especially since it is such a compressed file. Plus, like daypass said, the corruption/defect is in every frequency. I wouldn’t question, I’d just be happy we have it now, is all. Especially since many of us thought the FYC discs must have been defective, like Unbroken is.
Hopefully Transformers will turn up soon, I think they will distribute these discs for the Oscars, not the Golden Globes..not entirely sure, all an assumption.
Perhaps you should listen (and not view) before you judge, it sounds way better than what was posed on the guilds site.
Hopefully Transformers will turn up soon
True that. Nobody wants Age of Extinction more than I do, the sooner I can start my film mix the better
True that. Nobody wants Age of Extinction more than I do, the sooner I can start my film mix the better
daypass was responding to why you asked it was impossible, DAK, he wasn’t saying that this new leak was poor, he was referring to the one on Paramount’s website.
Um, I MIGHT want it more than you do 🙂
But it is I who will be making a film mix (and posting it, of course), so you might want me to want it more. Pray that it finds it’s way in my posession 😉
NOW…..do I want AoE or Interstellar more…..that is the question.
I’m under the impression that what’s been given fro the (B) Google Drive is a different rip/release than what’s on the (A) guilds site with the (C) static and that editing the guild rip would lead to a much (D) deteriorated new version.
C – A = D
B = B>C>D

To quote myself last night from Sully’s TASM2 thread:
Because I’m deaf
So I guess having shitty hearing has it’s benefits
It’s just that jobs that make it manditory to have the tests will pay for it.
I asked about it when I was working construction for awhile.
It’s not cheap but also not really expensive (if "cheap" is not "dirt cheap" it’s not "dirt" expensive either, in contrast).
They’ll tell you if you’re deaf or not.
But they also work long hours on the road, most of the time.
So they may forget to turn the light on in the booth which will have psychological effects of what they’re doing.
OH MY GOSH!!!
Btw: Is that the track "Murph" from the illuminated edition? Or the "fixed" version of Quantifiable Connection?!.
I don’t need some Doctor telling me the obvious. I know I’m deaf (sure I’m exaggerating a bit, but I really do have shitty hearing), because it’s genetic

Is that the track "Murph" from the illuminated edition?
What make you say that Murph is the same Quantifiable Connection track?
Not being cut at the end, exactly like in the film, doesn’t make it different to what’s heard in the film. That’s just silly. Different versions/mixes, sure, maybe, but not just a simple fadeout/cut.
Maybe the FYC material should not only contain all the cuts and abrupt fade-ins-and-outs, but also the volume changes the music have in the film as well ?!
That would not be good. The volume changes due to the characters’ dialogue and SFX. You don’t notice it in the film, because something happens during the volume’s fluctuating. If the CD were like that, it would be horrible. Have you downloaded any of hack3rman’s Trailer stems? Listening to the music track, it has fluctuations all over the place and it’s a huge distraction and generally unpleasant. But that’s how it is

Although, if film_mix is to be the intended for your consideration, then Nolan is on the right track not distributing dvd_screeners and having them rely on the intended theatrical experience.

Did you pay for the premium delivery rates?
AFIK, most sites still have varying rates for different dates you want the delivery.
Naturally, the advertisements will list the quickest method (which is most profitable for them as well).
Although, since I can’t order from them (being Canada and it being a soley USA company/product), I’ve no idea what their real rates and pricings are like.
Which was basically just standard shipping
If people aren’t ordering things online, it’s old grandmas sending ugly sweaters through the post office.
Or postmen going on strike about how no one shovels the snow or puts down salt to remove the black ice.

2m07 Who’s They? (FYC) – Day One (OST)
4m16b They’re Not Mountains (FYC) – Mountains (OST)

6m25 Imperfect Contact (FYC) – Imperfect Lock (OST)

Just received the following email:
Hello [I]myname,
This is in response to your Facebook post.
We apologize if your order has not yet shipped. We normally ship pre-orders before the official release date. However, this is most likely because inventory hasn’t arrived at our warehouse as we had expected. Our supply chain team is aware of this and someone is working into updating your order status page.
You may always check your order status page on this link: https://www.myplaydirect.com/interstellar-soundtrack/orders/#########
Once your order goes out we will send you a ship confirmation email with delivery details.
Please remember that we process payments only when an order actually ships.
Again, our apologies for the delay, and thanks for your patience!
Sincerely,
Angela

Question, is that the best quality available to download for Day One Dark? There’s no FLAC, obviously 😀
Yeah, it’s just the mp3-256k from MovieTickets.com. Hopefully, we get the full suite on the Illuminated Star Projection Edition.
And you were expecting it to be?
So I know for a fact it’s out there.
Day One Dark is only available in 255kbps mp3

I have two leaked FLAC copies of Day One Dark and No Time For Caution (FYC) that someone shared with me in private so i could create a lossless version of my track.
So I know for a fact it’s out there.
Not legit flac… Day One Dark was NEVER released in flac
Well, mind posting them here? I want to check it out, myself.
That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist in lossless, or that it’s not around. I believe TylerakaSyn.
I’ve read many customer service woes online from people who take the MyPlay pre-order route. But with this deluxe edition you have no choice! Their "Interstellar" site says: "In stock, ships within 1-2 business days (https://www.myplaydirect.com/interstellar-soundtrack/interstellar-soundtrack-illuminated-star-projection-edition/details/33155828?current_country=US)", then adds "processing takes 8-10 weeks". What business advertises, "ships 1-2 days after we’ve spent 8-10 weeks processing your order"? Total B.S. Your pre-order should have shipped today; that’s the bottom line.
Then there’s this (https://www.myplaydirect.com/interstellar-soundtrack/help?highlight=shipping): "If your items are in stock, your order should ship within 1-2 busines days". The site says it is in stock.
If AudioChecker was used… they’re not experts. 😉
Food for thought, you can browse HydrogenAudio forums and just get taken away by all the conversations on validating lossless files based on spectrums and frequency analysis.
For the most part, they say it’s all moot.
Those methods were more accurate back when lossy codecs looked like 8bit video games.
Today, everything has changed.
Some analysis through spectrums can be a decent indicator.
AudioChecker will never be a good indicator. Only Russian trackers (torrent sites) use them and live by them.
Even TAU’s frequency analyser is pretty much just a simple version of AudioChecker. I believe they’re both from the same code, one just fancier than the other.
But, both no longer updated/maintained.

NEVER released in flac
To the public.
Pretty sure Zimmer wouldn’t be like a homebrew dubstepper/disckjockey and use all .ogg and .mp3 files to mix his music and use that for demos to Nolan or anyone.
Where ever DOD came from, it likely would originate from a lossless studio source.
He’s rich enough to start out with lossless studio samples and equipment that produce lossless.
If the Angels & Demons got leaked in lossless from their cloud, DOD lossless wouldn’t be too far down the pipeline.
Only reason some tracks are only available in lossy is because, for whatever reason, after mixing the track and converting to lossy (for whatever reason), they felt it was safe enough to delete the lossless from the cloud.
Also consider that the lossless version of some tracks of A&D weren’t uploaded to the cloud for presentation purposes for reasons unknown to us (maybe it was meant for distribution to mobile devices for whomever had to listen to it on the go?).
It’s fairly safe to say it all exists in lossless somewhere, but who has access to every thing that is sharing?
Their access is what it is.
Conclusion:
I would take a safe bet in believing it’s flac if it’s from a private, trusted source.
If it was originating from that Russiant torrent site, I honestly wouldn’t know what to believe… :itsamystery:
LOL
The other way around, actually. DOD is a suite in which Caution is derived from. I used to think they were nearly the same track, but the film mix of Caution is way better
If anyone have any interest in it, I did check this, and it appear to be real 320k, IMHO (Haven’t got the "original"/released 256k (?) to compare with though).
download link to that?
…oh…thank you for the clarification LOL

I wouldn’t necessarily blame MyPlay as they are just an outlet… I still believe the issue is with WaterTower
even if you were to pay for Premium delivery charges for your product, it doesn’t include charges for B2B (business to bussiness; supplier to company (myplay)) delivery charges.
When I pre-ordered a bluray from Amazon, I got my order pushed back as the product sold out.
In lieu of the push back, they waivered my S&H charges as compensation for not living up to pre-order standards. I also paid for 2-day delivery for the product (which got waivered due to restock issues with supplier).
Very sneaky of them to not post a release date for the box.
Just "pre-order" and estimated delivery date.

Yes there are vinyls as well but glitches and crackling sound may occur when processed to digital environment.
The answer is that our interest in film music is a niche; the average consumer is more interested in those horrid "Songs Inspired by the Film" albums. Besides, even if the average consumer was interested in the film music, most are happy with a 128kbps YouTube rip and don’t even know what "lossy" and "lossless" are or mean. To them, MP3 and CD quality are the same thing.
Studios aren’t interested in spending time and money producing and distributing high-quality files that virtually no one will buy. Frankly, I’m surprised CDs are still being produced today, since, as I said, film music isn’t necessarily popular, and digital stores are the way of the future.
And there are ways you can "fix" vinyl glitches in an audio editor like Audacity.
Really? Do you have some proof?
What are the specs of the Bluray? An isolated score would be nice… that would be my wish 🙂
Yes, but I can’t give it to you.
What are the specs of the Bluray? An isolated score would be nice… that would be my wish 🙂
There has yet to be an isolated score on a screener.
I heard that it was Nolans intention to only have the film considered in a theatrical presentation (http://www.thewrap.com/interstellar-shuns-the-thanksgiving-screener-rush-its-a-theatrical-experience-says-christopher-nolan/) and that screeners wouldn’t happen. Quite happy to be corrected to the contrary though…
Nolan’s final Academy screening/Q&A is tomorrow in Santa Monica (http://www.paramountguilds.com/interstellar/screenings/), hence the screener mail out this week.

Yes good idea! Just make the very high quality OST online and people will buy and download it…
Someone should attend to the screening and ask him about an isolated score track on the Bluray.
Who will be our hero? 🙂
Nagging on Zimmer’s fan site (http://www.hans-zimmer.com/index.php?rub=disco&id=1256&id_news=&r_id=28435) does make things happen. That’s how ‘No time for caution’ ended up appearing as a freebie on the digital deluxe, anyway.

Which date format DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY? 😉
Ken Watanabe wasn’t in Interstellar was he?
Given that isolated scores are few and far between on normal DVDs, I can’t see any reason why one would be on a screener.
Given that isolated scores are few and far between on normal DVDs, I can’t see any reason why one would be on a screener.
There are rules for screeners, like everything in the awards circuit. They have to be free of promotional gimmicks like critics’ pull quotes, bonus features, *making of* material, etc. Language/subtitle options are about it (along with the copyright warnings, scrollers and watermarks). For instance, if an awards-considered movie from early in the year was already released on home video with bonus features, Academy/guild members would still have to be provided a bare bones screener in bare bones pakaging.
HAPPY NEW YEAR….
I half way expect them to terminate it at this point, but still, they said the 8th. When that passes, we will just have to see what excuse they give us next.
My fingers are crossed. We’ve waited too long, and I hope it was worth it, I hope that there is no further issues with this release. And I hope that MyPlay Direct learned that they should not make an official release date that they cannot fulfill. They will have a lot of angry customers cancelling their orders. And, a lot of customers to never order from them again.
My only disappointment in this company is their refusal to contact the buyers about the situations with their orders, the only way that you will get them to contact you is if you contact them first, which I think is very unfair and not the way a healthy business should be run. They’re very disappointing to me, especially for such a high quality release like this, they shouldn’t mess it up this badly.
I also heard that the problem might be that they’re shipping with batteries, if so, why don’t they just ship them without batteries? I think this is an assumption made over at the MyPlay Direct Interstellar Soundtrack page, but it made me curious if that might be the issue at hand.. It would indeed make sense if it’s true.
But, what irks me the most is that even though they replied to my e-mail saying that the estimated release date is indeed January 8th, well on my Order Details page on their website it says: "Estimated Ship Date Unavailable". Are they really just lying to us? I am so confused, distraught, upset..
I really wish they would just make a purchasable app to get the DTS:HX as a DSP for media players.
It’s so wasteful having it limited to just Zimmer’s music.
It’s just MP3 encodes.
Nothing fancy.
I imagine it’s just a DSP effect.

They’re just covering their asses by not giving an official date.
They can easily say to you in person (not on public site) that they have a date.
But not publish the date just in case any more problems occur.
Regarding batteries, they might have to get distribution legal rights to sell it with a battery name brand (Duracell, Energizer, etc).
Or try get their own namebrand of batteries just for sales like these.
True, "batteries sold separately" should be an industry standard.
It kind of is.
Rechargable batteries for mobiles, portable players, gaming console controllers, etc are mostly proprietary or have some third-party endorsement because they’re that fucking rich to do so without dicking around in the post office.
MyPlay may have been around since 2009 or so, but they’re demographic largely is just CD’s and crap.
They don’t strike me as "limited edition boxset" type company.
By Jan. 8, what really will happen, either way, this is going to be the biggest fucking learning curve in their career.
I’m becoming more and more concerned with Amazon than I am with eBay.
It seems anyone sell on Amazon like eBay. Doesn’t matter if it’s official or not.
I remember seeing some bootleg soundtracks on Amazon a few years ago. Laughable.
That German company with no sales price is probably one of the larger buyers from MyPlay.
They’ll buy a dozen or so and then resell it at their own price. Maybe got a discount with MyPlay (through legal application).
They are… I bought this with no issues and received it within a week: Porter Robinson "Worlds (Limited Edition Box Set)" @ Porter Robinson Store US (http://www.myplaydirect.com/porter-robinson/details/42917975)

I know people have gotten this… no problems
Again… people need to stop bashing MyPlay.. it is not their fault… It is all on WaterTower… this is why WaterTower is a shit company and why their releases piss me off… all they care about is money… nothing else
MyPlay can only give us generic responses because they probably know as much as we do

This is unbelievable.
Seriously? 8-10 weeks to only process an order. Does that include shipping time?
This whole endeavor was a money-milking, cash-grabbing, shit-inducing cow.
Worse case scenario, and in defiance of Murphy’s law…it won’t happen at all.
Best case scenario, teams at WaterTower have been working day and night to swap out Disc 2 with another one containing the true film version of ‘No Time For Caution’….. Yeeeah right!
Deep down inside, I am hoping the same thing… but I really doubt it’ll happen…
How do we know DayOneDark is OrganVariation?

Awesome news, dude! You’re now my personal hero! Plaese, let it be FLAC!
It’s a CD, so yes….it will be FLAC
Patience, young Skywalker. I’ll post it when I get it 😉
You mean IF it is ever finally released on vinyl
I’m sure you’ll. I’m thinking of purchasing the Vinyl, not The Illuminated Star Projection.
No. I mean when. It’s coming. Music On Vinyl is the label. I tend to know these things

Yeah, I grabbed Vikings S02 from them. 🙂
If we see those in vinyl releases, this will be great. And especially Sherlock Holmes 2, in the correct tempo/speed.
I think they’re shooting for a 2017 release date for the 5th film… maybe they’ll consider a vinyl release for it all around that time.
At World’s End was my favorite too – I loved its complicated, multi-layered story (but for some reason everyone I know hates it).

Same here. At least all of us have each other. I always feel like the ugly duckling when it comes to my taste in film and music.
IT’S HAPPENING!!!…crossed fingers.
You are not alone, I had hate mail in Facebook and others for liking a film.
:treknod:
Add me to the list 🙂 I loove AWE, I love the Trilogy.
#4 does not exist for me. The story was such a let down, the writers obviously have failed to understand what made the first 3 so great. The characters didn’t work well together this way. Gibbs and Barbossa doesn’t work by itself. The priest and the mermaid were cringe-worthy from start to end, Angelica was less pirate-y than anyone in those films, and the worst Pirate ever aka Blackbeard is hiding because of some prophecy…. bad story whichever way you look at it. Music-wise, they just wanted the old themes back, no wonder HZ hated working on it.
Now it will take them a day to get back to me with a response.
Sorry… but the answer is NO!
Ok, so, not really following the Illuminated release, is it actually shipped to you guys or is it getting ready to maybe at the end of the year prepare the shipment? lol
Same here. I’m totally broke. They cancelled my order as well. If any of you get the Illuminated Project Edition, please upload a lossless copy of it here!
They’re going to get a wordy and nasty email and or phonecall about this. Every time I’ve ordered something and there was an issue, the company allowed me to fix it. But not MyPlay.
I wish you the best of luck, Lockdown.

Really? I have never had any problems with UPS.. and their Scheduled Delivery has always been right.
I will be getting mine on Saturday
It is 24-Bit but 44.1 KHz not 48 KHz… If it was 48 KHz it would look like DTS Core but not 5.1 of course 😀 only Inception OST is 5.1 24Bit/48KHz DTS in Bluray. 🙂
Btw, CD Quality is 16-Bit/44.1KHz
Clearly, watertower released the online version on 24Bit… Now Im thinking if they’ll ever release it in 5.1 format aswell…. Hmmm….

Sparktank posted the 24bit version here some time ago. I won’t post a link to it as I can’t right now, but you should be able to find it for yourself (assuming the torrent didn’t work out of course).
If at all, the 5.1 mix will appear on the Blu-ray release. I doubt there would be a standalone release for it. Digital or otherwise. Also anybody with a surround system worth a damn will buy the Blu-ray anyway.

torrent worked very well.. I have it now in my PC.
Better there than in the fifth dimension pushing books off your shelf 🙂
07. Who’s They? 7:17
08. Murph 11:21
09. Organ Variation 4:52
10. Tick-Tock 8:19
11. Day One (Original Demo) 3:49
So, it’s getting closer. I’m betting Who’s They is indeed the FYC one. The rest, who knows.
We have the complete score with the FYC and the tracks from the OST
The only thing I care about is it’s finally released.. And for the star projection light box.. Will be a nice collectors item
Hoping it gets to you guys soon!!
Yes it’s normal, it never was 4:20.
I had deleted that because I checked for myself, but thanks.
Maybe that’s what took so long for the release of this?

Yeah, but it’s 192k 🙁
Until we have a physical FYC that someone can lossless/320 rip(even then sometimes FYCs aren’t the best quality), Illuminated the only viable quality (complete, almost) alternative to the Deluxe Edition FLACs now.

November

Definitely cool. I am glad they added No Time For Caution, even if it’s the same as the one on the Deluxe Soundtrack and not the film version. I am ecstatic it’s on there. The Illuminated part was not what I had expected at all, kind of disappointed in that. I like how you open the box from the right side, better than it being a box slipcover..
Or make my own, doesn’t look that difficult, only get the materials and the FLACs to record in customized CDs 😀
I don’t think it is on here, unfortunately. I thought it was going to be the track Murph, but I guess that’s a suite considering the trt..anyways, have you checked out the version that someone ‘fixed’ that track?
I’d pay like $10 tops…….. poor college student over here
Well shit!
The first 5 minutes are "I’m Going Home" and the last 3 minutes are "QC". (Like in the movie, "QC" played before "Coward".)
November of 2014.

If you are wrong, you’re dead. 🙁
Joking..by the way.
I’ve heard the ‘fixed’ track someone made and it doesn’t sound the same. If I could have my way it would be included instead of No Time For Caution or other filler tracks.
You must be a dweller of the 5th dimension if you think No Tme for Caution is a filler track :p
I guess I’m just disappointed by the official release(s) 🙁
What on earth happened with you people?
Now, someone is called ‘an ass’ because he’s not sharing a score which he had bought recently. WTF!
Another user here in the forum wants every 24-bit score but instead of buying them himself he asks other people if they can buy it for him…
Sometimes the newbies don’t appreciate what other members do here… that here are users who are sharing their latest investment.
Getting scores without demanding anything is one thing (I would call that generous, nobody has to share anything!), but to demand scores or call other people ‘an ass’ because they don’t want to share their investment is greedy and bad behaviour.
The balls on that guy huh? I hope you let him know of your grievances… I also hope he tells you to go fuck yourself, but that’s just me
Only behind the curtain, with friends who I can trust…
The only part I had an issue with was him not really wanting to answer questions about any of the new tracks. He pretty much just video taped himself opening it and bragged about it and checked out.
My copy of this is arriving today and thanks to your comments I probably won’t share anything either, happy new year
let’s be honest, that’s about 90% of this forum.
My copy of this is arriving today and thanks to your comments I probably won’t share anything either, happy new year
A lot of people do unboxing videos nowadays, so hats off to him. There are probably hundreds of people who’ve received theirs and kept it entirely to themselves which is entirely their prerogative.
His lack of response could be because he’s living life outside of music and the Internet. Sometime I unbox new stuff simply to have a look and listen to it weeks later when I have the time.
My copy’s on its way too. Although it’s arriving through a relative in Boston since it’s US only. It’s such a shame my comment would put your contribution to the forum in jeopardy, although you seem to assume nobody’s ever shared a Hans Zimmer score before?
Murph is a longer version of "I’m Going Home", but around 8:00 min in more instruments join and I don’t remember this version in the movie.
All the tracks are basically long variations of songs already featured on the soundtrack. That being said, they’re good variations. Some of this songs I don’t recognize from the movie.
Tick-Tock is my favorite because it adds additional instruments and choir.
The problem is that I live in Europe and can’t buy it. So I really hope somebody will upload it for all the poor basterds who live outside of the US…

The shame is the f*cktard rules they will not sell it outside the US 🙁
since this "illuminated edition" is only for the fans who’d like to get the box itself. Nobody else would pay 40$ for 4 additional tracks.

I am fully prepared to pay 40$ dollars 🙂 THAT’s not the problem (see above). Ask me about all the different versions i have bought of both film and music when it comes to Peter Jackson’s version of the world Tolkien put on paper 😉
I will be getting this today and I plan to upload it on here, but if someone, anyone, bothers me and tells me to upload it, I most likely won’t upload it.
That’s practically begging the trolls to step in and do their thing 😉

With everyone feeling that it was not worht the $45, I’m starting to feel glad that MyPlay cancelled my order. If I’m going to be honest, it would have sat on my shelf and collected dust. Can’t really do anything with it whereas the extra music I can liste to over and over

Yeah its about ???45 ($68) here in the UK on Amazon, ships in February apparently. The box is nice but its not worth ???35 extra for a few extra tracks shame really. I will just be cheeky and get a copy when someone eventually posts it here. Im sure die hard collectors will like it but I dont think its worth more than ???20 ($30)
Haha yeah you’re right !! :p
70mm IMAX or digital IMAX?

Because nobody wants that shit. Peter Jackson has been smoking an obsessive consumption of mushrooms…..thinking people want HFR. To hell with that
I want that shit, I love it! It looks amazingly real.
And where do you purchase your mushrooms?
As a filmmaker, I cannot stand that shit. It’s so fucking distracting and takes away from the experience. I didn’t see Smaug in theaters, but AUJ I did. And let me tell you: it was fucking distracting as hell. I notice everything and that ruined it for me. I haven’t seen Five Armies yet, but I’m glad it’s available in 48fps
It looks amazingly shit. Like a stage play…..with all manner of beasts and a dragon.
Must admit… I was hoping this projection box set would actually project something since that’s what I’m led to believe projectors actually do, like a decodable message on the ceiling perhaps… Fucking morse code??

I am happy to see the 6 and 6 Plus have 60FPS.. but a 55 second video was 115MB… I can see why it is left off by default… but I have a 128GB 6 Plus.. space isn’t an issue for me 😛

Everyone enjoys something different, and I’m actually fascinated that you guys enjoy it. I don’t understand how, but we like what we like. I didn’t mean to offend anyone, I was just speaking my mind
Not sure if you guys have seen it but it’s worth the 3mins 🙂
Hahah. That one, I gifted it to my little nephew.
I saw the first hobbit in HFR and digital IMAX
part 2 and 3 were digital IMAX viewings for me
I did not like the 48FPS… it looked like a TV at the store that wasn’t calibrated correctly
Not sure if you guys have seen it but it’s worth the 3mins 🙂
I didn’t really care for it but I loved the music and am searching for it right now.
You mean this? https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/wanderers-feat.-nina-fylkegard/id947801075
Hell yes I mean that. Buying it now 😀
Bought it as well. Didn’t know they made it available. Thanks for the link T-1000
You get 2+ hours of music, a light box thing, liner notes, etc.
Also people are forgetting… a digital download of the deluxe.. $14 value (since it’s 256 mp3 I used Amazon’s pricing)
Plus a code for the Z+ app… $32 value (each song individually is $1.99)
the digital download and Z+ are $46 worth alone
So it’s actually a good deal if you ask me
and why are you bitching DAK? you essentially got the digital download and Z+ code for FREE
Because this is AMERICA and the internet and it’s my fucking God given right 😉
Not sure if you guys have seen it but it’s worth the 3mins 🙂
thanks I saw this video a few weeks ago, I remember them saying they would release the music ‘soon’ completely forgot! Thanks for reminding me 🙂
But listening to the free track, I don’t really hear all that much surround that’s been hyped about in the app.

i agree. where sometimes it does work there are times when i switch between dts and normal and the dts sounds a little muddy but you can certainly hear more going on
A DSP/VST for the PC would be nice too.
It would trump their existing (and really old) DTS Headphone plugin.
A proper 5.1 mix is the dream though 🙂
A proper 5.1 mix is the dream though 🙂
I wouldn’t be surprised.
Trying to get 11.1 or whatever they’re up to now (21.1???), DTS is starting to get out of hand.
Dolby Atmos, on the other hand, has been part of the Dolby spec for a long time. Just never used.
I would much rather give into Dolby Atmos over DTS 50.1.
There’s a set of Turtle Beaches headphones that supposedly has this new DTS Headphone:X that Z+ uses.
Oh god….. not a bag on fire!!!! :awsm:
:erm: all-access skeleton key to the RC/MV studio vault????
A pony?
That weird black monolith from Space Oddissey.

I thought you’ve seen it at least twice already like the other guys :)… You should have seen it! 🙁
No one to see it with.
I hear it was a deafening movie, so really family is out of the picture.
I’m the only extreme Nolan fan in the family.

Actually I would call it as a family movie because the main theme was father/daughter relationship, mainly drama and I figured that out in the very first trailer 🙂 At that time my friends didnt want to believe me lol but in time they saw it.
I was going to see the movie with my family but in the end I went to see it with my brother and some friends…
She went more deaf after seeing it in theaters.
My older brother would have been interested in seeing it, but not really. He’d rather see it downloaded instead.
My younger brother, no real interest at all.
I warned my mom about how loud and deafening the music is supposed to be, so she backed out immediately.
And my friends got too busy and broke during the Christmas holidays, so I just opted out entirely.

Not that loud, I mean in total I guess only 3 scenes were loud and thats all. And most of all it was only the Zimmer’s scores 🙂 and some effects (real deal sound effects, watched the creation video of it), other than that talking only. You shouldnt have said that to your mom 🙂
WATCH YOUR MOUTH!!!
?
didnt mean any disrespect..

No one’s said "should" since the Great SH of ’05.

edit: Now I really want to listen FYC in lossless format especially the Quantifiable Connection.
Other than that, I have no words… Its a Masterpiece!
It’s going to go for silly money.
And of course you want the FYC, no one will ever be happy about what we have until we have the complete recording sessions with every single note and every single alternate in 24-bit 192KHz FLAC format.
FYC Complete score vs complete recording sessions? Whats the difference?

This FYC is going to go for crazy money on eBay guys
Needn’t worry…when it finally does appear, HDlossless will buy it for us.
what could the sessions give us.
they wont have the final film mix of No Time for Caution
what could the sessions give us.
they wont have the final film mix of No Time for Caution
Perhaps not, but if they were entirely unmixed sessions I’d imagine there would be a lot of organ solos. (And no that’s not a euphemism)
Well those songs are on their website to, so I guess your argument is invalid. Hopefully you’re wrong.
If it can properly be extracted without all the SFX on top of it, then there’s a chance. It should have a 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track, so I don’t think there’s anything to worry about
though it still has SFXy bits
So the only source for academy members are 192kbps mp3… I doubt if people really wanted their score to be considered it would be in such low quality

We’ll also get the end credits suite, which includes some unreleased stuff! 🙂
That’s if the bluray is an exact IMAX representation
This is another big music editor job like No Time For Caution was.
(IMAX end credits)
The arrangement is an updated version of "Day One – Original Demo", (stems from new "Day One" pasted on top). With an extra piano track running over the whole piece, you can hear it fade into Quantifiable Connection, and then fade slowly into part of "what happens now". It would probably take me an hour to reproduce the whole track but you will have some bullshit skipping thanks to damaged quantifiable connection, unless I can find a similar sounding piano, I can just write the piano part and it would be clean

after listening to your recording I agree with "Who’s They?", which actually is a revamped version of the original demo like I thought, so yeah that’s pretty convenient. A lot of work just got minimized even further
Yeah the beginning of the end credits is the beginning of Who’s They
The middle I’m not sure.. I’m thinking Decoding Message/Murph suite possibly?
And then the ending is the ending of What Happens Now? (I made a typo)

Can you verify this? I don’t doubt it, I’d just like to know for sure.
I’ll bet mgm can make it up real quick.
This guy is correct as far as what that first page shows, and about Hans’ production methods / overdubbing / multiple tracks
The quality isn’t the greatest as the screener isn’t the greatest… but this will hold us over until the bluray.

Interstellar IMAX End Credits — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJIS6GLh0Y8
Credits to theeaglesfan005 for allowing me to use his phone recording of the end credits to work from.
Do we have a downloadable link for HQ audio file on this? Amazing work on YouTube but also wanting a downloadable audio file please. Can someone point me that direction of one exists?
Of course we dont unti lthe bluray release… Just play the OST… 🙂
um… the end credits aren’t on the OST -.-
Obviously 🙂 but end credits is not a new thing, its the mix of the few ost tracks. 🙂
then how come there hasn’t been a proper edit made yet?
That’s because it is mixed differently than anything releases (FYC + OST)
The end credits are a special concotion of various cues heard throughout the film. There isn’t a definitive way to just grab this cue and that cue and throw them together, thus making the credits.
yea thats right I think… btw, Im saying it right now… I hope end credits will be ripped out as dts hd master 5.1 format 🙂 hopefully, in movie tracks aswell.

What a sucky cover and also, three-hundred-goddamn-dollarrrrrrs. 🙁 indeed
man… i want the flac version so much 😀
Logged in just to ‘Like’ this. Although to be honest, posting eBay links here probably has no impact on how the bidding goes up. Let’s be honest, if the bidders were attracted to the item through this site, wouldn’t that be good for us? It would mean there would be more members of this site bidding on the item, thereby increasing the chances that a member of this site would win it. And logically, wouldn’t that also entail that it would be more likely that the winner would post it here?
As a side note, I would be wary about something like this. Keep in mind that the FYC was already released in a low bit rate form. Who’s to say that someone didn’t just download the web rip, burn it on a CD and then is selling it on eBay? I would guess this one is probably legitimate, but it’s something to keep in mind. Also, to those who want to bitch about something as trivial as the cover to a promotional score, shut the hell up and please leave.
It’s only one cd…
I would think it’s the same as this (http://www.paramountguilds.com/interstellar/score/), except probably in lossless.
I hope not.
Maybe there is hope for TF4 🙂

Thank you for this!
I have a similar opinion like Mr. Fate on this. I don’t think that posting those links has any real impact on the price, at least not here.
People who are into FYC scores (and have serious money) are monitoring ebay for such items and I think they would have found it sooner or later.
I think Interstellar FYC will sell for over $500 (maybe it will reach $1600 like Prometheus), no matter if it was posted on any website or not. The only question is, will the buyer share it or not?
That was a sham, it did not sell for $1,600
So it wasn’t sold for $1,525 and someone made a fake bid? How do you know that?
I do remember stumbling across that back in Spring 2010. It was listed as the FYC promo, but that’s wrong as teh FYC is actually 18 tracks and differs from the OST. It was a 3-Disc set. Don’t know if it really sold for that, it might have been the same situation as Prometheus. Which leads me too…..
So it wasn’t sold for $1,525 and someone made a fake bid? How do you know that?
…..someone who works for a record label told me. People do it all the time. Let’s say I have 2 eBay accounts. I use one account to list something. When people finally start bidding, I use my other acocunt to place higher bids and everyone bidding on it will then place bids higher than the bid I just placed using my other account. And eventually it gets to the point where the winning bid is ridiculous.
Honestly, do you really think Prometheus sold for $1,600? That’s one thousand six hundred dollars. You could buy a car with that. And it’s Prometheus. The score wasn’t that good.
Why not? That wouldn’t surprise me very much.
This makes me wonder what your definition of the word "surprise" is.
Anyway, the listing was fake. It did not sell for $1,600. Either that, or the seller had 2 accounts and used the method I described above to "sell" it (to himself, no less) for a ridiculous amount
For example, in days where someone bids on this : Nike tick Crusti Croc crisp Lidl Pringle. Just Do It! | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131419461250?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649) .. nothing surprises me anymore.
Dak, the method you’re referring to is ‘shill bidding’
I gotta admit, it’s tempting. But man oh man even half the cost of that is a lot of money for a couple of CDs. Heck what proof is there that this will even be lossless? I just, just…
Talk to Lockdown about that

Of course it’s a joke…but we all know ONE person here who would say that in all seriousness.

Foul play!
Can’t wait to hear Quantifiable Connection without noise 🙂
What’s the estimated shipping date?
Also guys, here’s the film versions of "What Happens Now?" and "Landing In Tesseract". (Yes, I made them, but I don’t feel like making a thread for them)
Descriptions:
"What Happens Now?" – The synth drones and metallic sounds all cut off instantly at 1:37, instead of rolling off/fading out into the organ outro.
FLAC: https://mega.co.nz/#!PZxkGAhL!opI4BSne-Oj1qJgKNH8HN4DPOSgwS7IiSoJX0uFcTt4
"Landing In Tesseract" – The beginning of the track is 5% faster than the album version, and there’s an extra (loud) organ stem playing over the percussion when cooper is falling that wasn’t in the album version. After the percussion and organ part ends, it’s silent for a few seconds, which isn’t in either version, but I’m just pointing that out.
FLAC: https://mega.co.nz/#!jdx1RKbJ!nPqsleo3BpxWZiH0OVZLTR_PjTxLaTED27L4hWM YGtM
And a temporary, fixed version of "Quantifiable Connection" through my music editing.
(I hope the FYC CD version is fixed/burned correctly so we can have that version, but feel free to use this)
FLAC: https://mega.co.nz/#!iJoAFAJB!RyGxtEy9xpElhiCC_G53mnvCsDRHhgHFsXUvcg2 NAcE
Lastly, a new version of "No Time For Caution" was released in the main thread for that track this morning.
(Sources: used the film audio for the parts that differ from the album version)
That can’t be right, that’s terrible

I am not excited because vinyl rips are not superior than cd’s in terms of quality and definition. Even sometimes its bad.
Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren’t. It depends on how well the vinyl is pressed
SIDE A
1. DREAMING OF THE CRASH
2. CORNFIELD CHASE
3. DUST
4. DAY ONE
5. MESSAGE FROM HOME
SIDE B
1. STAY
2. THE WORMHOLE
3. AFRAID OF TIME
4. A PLACE AMONG THE STARS
5. NO TIME FOR CAUTION
SIDE C
1. MURPH
2. DETACH
SIDE D
1. RUNNING OUT
2. TICK-TOCK
3. WHERE WE’RE GOING
4. DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT
My gosh! Seriously?
True. But Coward is an 8-minute track, so it would need to be the equivalent of that. Removing Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night wouldn’t do much good since the track is what, a minute long?
The entire score is very nice (to put it subtley) but if I had to pick and choose, I could leave that one out. It’s similar to a few other cues
The sooner it’s in my posession, the sooner I can start my film mix
I’m making an edit for personal use that consists of all of the film versions of the Interstellar Complete Score cross-faded together exactly as they are in the movie, especially the second and third act. I might not even cut it into tracks and keep it as a 2 – 3 hr audio file for mobile listening.
That sounds pretty epic. I like to do that with my favorite scores. I use the Blu-ray audio (only as I guide so I can see the waveform) and crossfade the cues as they are in the film.
Not that they can be obtained as FLACS in other ways
They could remove Detach and Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.
No way Jos???. Detach is way too good a track
February 15-23rd it says. The shipping label was created yesterday, but nothing has happened yet. Maybe USPS just isn’t scanning it, like they’re supposed to..
Makes no sense for me. You are in USA, seller is in USA so delivery time shouldn’t exceed 3 days.
Or maybe USPS screwed it up. They do mess up quite a lot, in my experience.
That’s one tasty tracklisting.
On what? Is there another one?
I see at least three in play now on Ebay. Lockdown was lucky his seller didn’t see these prices before he put his up as "Buy it Now"… also lucky for everyone here!

Wow, I really hope someone will buy the Interstellar FYC and post this….in FLAC too! 🙁
Please!!
You posted the links! Why don’t you buy one of them? Lockdown will no doubt rip his copy when he receives it in an inferior 16-bit, 44.1kHz format (i.e. the way CDs are made to be)… why don’t you purchase a copy and then aimlessly upconvert your files to 24/96, just the way you like them?
Apologies…I need to keep my emotions under cuntrol…

Yeah, if you are planning on getting a copy of the FYC promo, you’ll be down $300.
Not that they can be obtained as FLACS in other ways
Yes, looks to be plenty of space left on the disc’s to accommodate the final two tracks, strange.
Certainly hope no one wasted their money.
Personally, I would just destroy that kind of seller through Ebay support, if it’ll happen.
While CD is a technically and objectively superior format with more potential (along with higher res pcm/dsd) it is rarely taken advantage of, many modern vinyl counterparts feature a superior master. The mastering for vinyl generally requires more finesse and the target demographic is expecting something more pleasing to the ear.
A prime example is Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories, the master for vinyl is superior not only to the CD but also to the 24-Bit 88.2KHz Lossless release which really should be able to outclass the vinyl version blindfolded and with its pants down.
I always prioritise in the order of Mix/Master > Format when it comes to collecting music.
And then there’s the subjective taste for vinyl’s signature sound/s, but that’s another matter..
But, on FSM Boards (Film Score Monthly) I have heard bad things about Quantifiable Connection, I heard that it is the same as the web-rip, but, also, from an eBay seller they told me they listened to every track on both CDs and they said that all tracks sounded fine. So, I don’t know what to think or who to believe, but I believe an FSM member over an eBay seller.
Anyways, we will find out tomorrow.
So excited to hear this in flac <3

If it’s not, what are the odds of you genius lot re-creating it through the Blu-Ray next month?
Yeah if they can rip it without SFX, a lot of people will refuse to touch an edit or rip if it has any sign of SFX. I made a version using the screener audio and the version without the static/artifacts, but we will see if someone can pull off a miracle.
Also, I also heard the FYC CD is going to be a let down from someone who has one, so don’t get your hopes up.
Lol agreed. Wish I had visited this thread earlier so I could have at least warned that it might not be the real deal before he bought it.
Being pressed CDs is no guarantee that it’s free of any issues. It’s a risk to take. After all, the files on the site, and the CDs themselves, are most likely coming from the same source. So unless the flaws on the site material is caused from bad mp3 encoding and/or things happening during upload to the site, there’s a big chance you could have the same flaws on both…
Well both discs are lossy sourced, every single track cuts off at 16Khz, and Quantifiable Connection is still corrupt. Is it even still worth uploading?

upload the important unreleased ones if they are at a better bit rate than the FYC site, if it’s the same, probably not.

Could it be that it was a scam/fake FYC soundtrack?
We know when we have the files from the disc in a wav or flac container. We can compare them with the webrip to make sure they are from different sources or the same source… but the cover art looks real to me. Are the discs pressed or burned?
🙁
🙁
That’s either Paramount or Warner Bros. The film is a co=production between the two. The FYC discs are given out to Academy members
🙁
In this case, Warner-Olive produce the discs with some help from ASCAP. The studios then distribute it.
so not the same company that makes OSTs of this film? Why they have lossy tracks in the first place? I mean this is complete bulls***, makes nosense to me.

yes
I don’t think the organ stems in the FYC version are like the ones in the film. The film version has a ritcher organ part that starts from the beginning.
It’s 100% the same stem/sound, just mixed differently. At the beginning of the FYC mix, the organ is turned way down, and over time it gets louder.
There’s also a bass/low-end organ stem that is louder in the film mix but is turned way down for the other versions.
As far as it sounding "rich", you won’t be able to tell in detail unless it was turned up to the volume levels they had it up to in the film version.

Maybe you’re right. Yes, I know it’s turned down in the beginning, but I’d still say it’s ~85% the same stem :p

The damage done to the track is severe.
The only way to make it better and sound better is to break into MVC/RC and steal that single, only track.
But for that, we’ll need an Oceans 14.
If you live in or even near LA you should get off the shrine right now and march your ass down to Paramount. It’s only 7:45 on a Thursday night, they’re still open
You can’t know that just looking at spectrals.
No software can really do that.
Sure, maybe with really old, outdated, limited MP3 encoders and other lossy encoders, maybe.
But spectrals are only useful in seeing if anything’s capped or contains artefacts.
Most articles on spectral analysis are really old now.
Especially, considering that LAME MP3 and other lossy codecs have advanced far from the Stone Age.
Estimating bitrate is useless for this release (FYC flossy).
I’ve actually been in the studios before. I went to the Star Trek: Voyager set when I was 15, and to the first Trek reboot a couple years ago. I’m not sure a single guy outfront with a sign protesting the FYC Interstellar score would garner much attention from the inside. That’d be par for the course for the standard crazy in LA county.
The 2009 JJ Abrams?
a couple years ago
That was more than a "couple" years ago.
That’s more like a "few" years ago if you want to be generous.
Or do you mean the Into Darkness sequel to the 2009 reboot? :erm:
Which would be a "couple" years ago.

Well it doesn’t seem THAT long ago, but I guess it’s going on 8 or 9 years Mr. Semantics! If I was 108 years old, that would only be a couple years!
I’m totally lost now…
Don’t remember if it was the fall of ’07 or ’08. So I guess 7 or 8.
I think that this is everything. If I am wrong, would someone please correct me?

Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’ Returns To IMAX This Weekend With 12 Minutes Of New Footage (http://www.imdb.com/news/ni58297529/)
It’s a clickbait headline. There aren’t 12 more minutes of film, it’s twelve minutes of behind-the-scenes stuff.
Aw, yeah.
"never before seen, behind-the-scenes footage"
But great it’s coming back to IMAX.
If you live in USA.
2014’s ground-breaking sci-fi epic Interstellar will be brought to life by a live orchestra in a special gala screening at the Royal Albert Hall.
Interstellar Live will see the Christopher Nolan film shown on the big screen, whilst composer Hans Zimmer leads a 60-piece orchestra and the Hall’s Grand Organ in a simultaneous performance of the movie’s Academy Award and BAFTA nominated score.
The evening will be introduced by Sir Michael Caine, who played Professor John Brand in the film, and will also see a pre-performance conversation between executive producer and theoretical physicist Kip Thorne and director Christopher Nolan on the art, music and science behind Interstellar.
This live in concert performance will let fans experience the film like never before, with the full might of an orchestra and 9,999 pipes of the Hall’s Grand Organ creating the ultimate filmic experience in London’s most iconic venue.

Tix already booked, so super excited. Loved the Star Trek/Into Darkness and Godfather L2P, I can’t imagine how insane this will be especially with the grand organ!
Idk where you’re looking because no – there should still be seats in the arena (???48.50) and I’m not seeing any tix for 173….
Found ’em, thanks! I clicked for the wrong tickets, the one including dinner etc.
Tickets booked… Seats are near identical to the location in this video.
-9 degrees? Damn!
Bitch, please. That’s a heatwave lol
Twas a damn good night; and now I’m tempted by this, but I don’t think I can get the following day off work. =[

Sounds to me like some really nice quality father-child (son? daughter?) time
I doubt it. It’s a screening of the film itself, the only difference being that the music is stripped from the sound mix and it’s played live by the orchestra and a giant fuck-off organ. There would still be dialogue/SFX.
The 20th Anniversary Ultimate Edition DVD of E.T. (http://www.amazon.com/E-T-Extra-Terrestrial-Ultimate-Gift-Boxed/dp/B000069AT7) had a separate/alternate audio track with live audio from the Shrine Auditorium Anniversary Premiere (conducted by John WIlliams). It’s an interesting listen, and you can hear the laughter of the audience at times during the live audio capture.
The audience reaction to Shtip to Ship from STID was quite something….this will be too epic to not witness, especially with the "fuck off" 9999-pipe organ:
http://www.cse.cuhk.edu.hk/~phwl/mt/public/archives/photos/covgdnwalthrah011105/original/13Royal%20Albert%20Hall%20Organ.jpg
Also it’s going to be a lot of the same musicians who performed at the recording sessions anyway I believe, so that’s a plus too 🙂

Just that one bass note from Batman – Main Title at the Danny Elfman concert got me thinking how good Interstellar would sound here. My go-to bootleg device (iPhone) simply couldn’t capture it though.
Repaired from the beginning to 2:12, a few odd bits to fix between 1:50 and 2:00 which can be easily done when the bluray comes out.
Partially fixed between 2:12 and 2:34, hopefully some usable bits from the bluray too.
Onwards from there is fine except the transition around 3:03, i’m going to redo the end anyway.
His version partially used the original fixed version which sounds terrible. This is repaired completely from scratch, plus using bits from the screener to make it exact to the original. His version is quite different from the original
If people can create a better source to work from by all means post them
I’m happy "Tick-Tock" is there but one of my favourite tracks; "Coward" is missing along with ‘Imperfect Lock’ and "Mountains" 🙁 …actually in retrospect there’s a lot missing, but hopefully it’s a semi-decent pressing.
SIDE A
1. DREAMING OF THE CRASH
2. CORNFIELD CHASE
3. DUST
4. DAY ONE
5. MESSAGE FROM HOME
SIDE B
1. STAY
2. THE WORMHOLE
3. AFRAID OF TIME
4. A PLACE AMONG THE STARS
5. NO TIME FOR CAUTION
SIDE C
1. MURPH
2. DETACH
SIDE D
1. RUNNING OUT
2. TICK-TOCK
3. WHERE WE’RE GOING
4. DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT (Meh!)
I could do without Tick-Tock, but Coward is also one of my favorite tracks. There should be a public execution of whoever made the decision to leave it off, yet include Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night. Seriously who the fuck wants that track? But I’m happy Murph is on there. Ohh, so happy.
They’re ‘Black Hole’ variants
I only heard they were making standard ones.
That’s true…it also an unlimited release so the chance of a coloured variant is unlikely.
Would be amazing if they announced a 10" for record store day with the missing tracks
That would be awesome. I’m gonna try and get Fury and The Lego Movie
Now here’s what I don’t understand, what moron decided that ‘Do Not Go Gentle Into That Goddamn Night’ needed to be an already cramped vinyl release? I mean, it’s not music, it’s a recitation and not the best one I might add. Oh Caine, why’d you have to go and die before finishing that. There’s this Cinema Space tribute video on vimeo that has a kick-ass version by Anthony Hopkins, which is mind-blowingly better than anything on this one. I mean, if Nolan loved it so much(his biggest addition to the script I think), which he did considering the ungodly times that poem was in the movie, I thought there’d be no credits just another reciition and then I leave the theatre and lookup the soundtrack and lo and behold there it is, at least let us have someone decent saying the lines and let Hans put at least like a basic tune behind it.

I assume this will have the score track replaced with a recording of the live performance from London. Won’t be just AMC hosting the screenings as it’s also up on some other independent theatre sites and Fandango. Tickets on sale soon.
Also this makes me more excited for the L2P as I wonder which other stars may be in attendance…
QC is mostly good except for some wind sounds and the strings and some organ parts are louder in the centre channel, so will have to match the eq with the side channels or work around it.
NTFC is mostly good except for a little SFX, no voice as its always in centre.
Here are the end credits, (https://mega.co.nz/#!opAGSZSb!hTLkUHi65vKZxb6Eqt36qoP4jIGVzxfUM2kkdoe _gQg) will work on QC and NTFC tomorrow.

I know, hence why I said "clean". As in perfect :p
Ah, now I see. I doubt we’ll have that anytime soon. Once the FYC CD still had the same problems I kinda lost hope. 🙁 Unless TylerakaSyn and work some magic.
If Tyler can’t, Sparky surely can

Thanks for the effort… I assume source is the dts hd master lossless?
Fingers crossed. 🙂
What exactly are we achieving by using all those different sources other than the "official" soundtrack that was released on CD? From what I picked up in the discussion, stuff like the volume of different instruments is not like it was mixed in the movie? 🙂

Yes, that’s the total time. I was looking for timecodes for the splits people want to edit with.

I cannot freaking wait for the last, final, film mix that will possibly not be final until the final final is done. Looking forward to it a lot!!
Changes:
2:36 – 3:23
1. New organ source taken from blu-ray, split all 6 channels and edited them together and merged with the FYC NTFC source that was used previously, it weaves in between the 6 channels eliminating as much sfx as possible.
2. Removed parts of center channel when characters in the movie talked.
3. All sampled and synthesized/Zebra organs added by me have been removed and replaced by the original. (This includes minor SFX for a few moments near the end, but no dialogue or anything like that) If you have an issue with SFX, go back to the video produced with samples.
0:44 – 2:34
Now much louder, especially at 0:44.

Speechless! Thanks, Tyler. 🙂
That’d be neat.
It would easily be remuxable into existing movie files.
Or with advanced media players, MPC-HC, just rename the base file to match the movie file and LAV Splitter will pick it up and add it as an option for playback.
It’ll require much more work than you intend.
I already started on doing that edit a while ago (crossfading them as from the film) and I am already half done with half of the cues.
I already started on doing that edit a while ago (crossfading them as from the film) and I am already half done with half of the cues.
Are you using the film’s audio as a guideline, matching up the waveforms? Cause if so, then there’s no need for me to do it
The race to perfection has no finish line. 😉
Yeah where possible. Dialogue or SFX can screw that strategy up pretty quick though.
At times. But being that most of them crossfade, if you line them all up it should work out. But then there are those moments where there’s silence so there’s no overlapping to do. Editing is a bitch as I’m sure you’re aware and is very trial and error
I’m new to the vinyl-buying game and won’t have my setup sorted till next Saturday, I’m guessing this is a common occurrence with new releases?

will we get to watch it offline? like bluray. Or this will be included on bonus feature in bluray?
btw I hope we get an offline version of Royal Albert Hall performance that will be on 31 March I think…
This opens on April 7th. The Blu-ray releases 7 days earlier on March 31st, so that would be a no. Besides, the Blu-ray has already been pressed and has even been distributed to some for review:

They would have to release as it as its own bluray.
To date, events like this for film have never gotten a bluray release before.
I would have loved Giacchino’s Star Trek events to have gotten a BD.

I’m wondering that too 😉
And this is some of the reasons why I can’t truly enjoy a Zimmer score. The strings don’t sound like this in the score at all..
Not sessions (of the finalized score). But demos/alternates before they settled on a final version of the score.
All their testing.
5-10 seems more managable.
I could be happy with a "best of" demos release.
Seems like a good idea. Hopefully it won’t be necessary anymore though…

The ship docking was something to behold/hear with the power of the Albert Hall’s pipe organ behind it. Amazing. Huge applause from the audience when the ship locked on and the music ended!
Unfortunately it’ll happen again when they’ll have to pay the next bill. So it would be better to add that donation status in the near future.
This server seems to be very expensive… 2400$ every time… I would suggest admins to put a status of the current donations for example at the top of the website, this would help to raise money faster.
tehParadox does that and they’ve never had the money problems that this site has had.

INTERSTELLAR LIVE
So the evening began surprisingly with a red carpet, which after a bit I left and just went in lol, as I was gonna see everyone inside anyway. Turns out I missed Chastain but oh well.
So the evening began…with a really nice and short intro from Stephen Hawking himself, who introduced everyone on stage! Extended applause all around. Then the pre-show talk, which was really quite nice. Some things we’ve known before such as that ‘Day One’ story were brought up, and Kip had a couple of slides explaining the Tesseract and how the black hole came to be and how Nolan decided to eschew scientific accuracy for a couple of thing such as the Doppler shift…you’ll probably see that first bit online or somewhere (that April 7, I believe, special showing thing across the US?) soon, as it was filmed and all.
Now for the main bit, after the intro from Caine and Nolan and Zimmer…yup it began. It was damn good. Really really fantastic hearing it live as the film plays, and it doesn’t need describing, you can imagine the feeling…. But the real kickers came in the second half…the whole Coward/Imperfect Lock/No Time For Caution sequence was chilling and really awesome, but NOTHING, not even, what I feel is a bit overhyped tbh, NTFC (of course the film version with organs and all, and of course applause at the end)…came close to Detach. WOW. WOW. WOW. Jaw hit the floor immediately when the organ kicked in, the sheer power, well I guess the extreme bass isn’t just from post production huh. It hits you right there. And the Wagnerian organ/strings/wind combo at the end was just the icing wow. I was probably shaken and overwhelmed with joy/feels/epic and exhaustion at the end of that, which is something I have never quite felt ever during a live performance. And also another bit I loved was the slight variations in orchestrations in such in the bits you heard over and over…especially Day One/Who’s They. Everything was just beautifully performed, I got extreme chills at the end credits, where it was really nice seeing different parts of the audience applauding even people like Paul Franklin, David Gyasi and so on…and of course the big cheer (which I kicked off) when "A Christopher Nolan Film/INTERSTELLAR" came up.
Overall….probably an even better way to experience the movie than 70mm IMAX. Unless you can fit a 60-piece orchestra and a giant fuck-off organ in a 70mm IMAX….but it wouldn’t match Albert Hall acoustics though TBH. And while I really hope they do a tour of this like Giacchino did with Star Trek/Into Darkness as you all HAVE to experience this…it will never be quite the same performed by most if not all of the same performers from the recording sessions, Zimmer himself, and of course the giant 9,999-pipe fuck-off organ in question.
10/10 (as if this even needs a score, it transcends that 🙂 Thank you Hans, Roger, Gavin, all the performers, RAH and Orchid for actually organising this (hope this gets them to do even more recent movies with excellent scores too) and of course Nolan.

Great review.! I unfortunately missed the intro from hawking which I was gutted about but nevertheless it was surprising to see pro Brian coz on the stage. Met him after the show and he was very nice.
I agree with you about the experience. Comepletely unique and hard to decide which I loved more. There were times where I was watching and didn’t seem like a live orchestra, that’s how perfect it was to the recordings, flawless!

I’ve actually decided not to bother listening to it on its own – something I wanted to wait for until AFTER seeing the film first. It’s just not something that had an impact on me. Shame, but that’s not to say it’s bad – it’s not – it’s just not meaningful to me the way some of the other Zimmer / Nolan collaborations were. Amazing film though.
They should make habits of releasing a lot of films with "Silent Space" versions like the Gravity re-release bluray.
No music, just sfx and dialogue mixed in.

Tyler still working hard on them. 🙂
I learnt on the morning of the event that Stephen Hawking and Brian Cox would be there. This almost made me more excited about the pre-show talk than anything else.
What was most unbelievable is that during the intermission there was a selfie frenzy with Zimmer at the other end of the hall. I didn’t expect any chance of getting over there so I stood up and walked toward the entrance of my section to stretch my legs and take in the surroundings.
From the walkway to the organ section emerged a very unassuming bespectacled gent who politely said "hello" and stood with me sipping some water… Holy shit, it’s Roger Sayer! It was like he was invisible and it saddened me that so many people were simply walking to and fro without any hint of recognition for him. He seemed cool with his relative anonymity, and I did likewise and simply congratulated him on what was shaping up to be a fantastic night. He replied "thank you" and I returned to my seat. I could’ve kicked myself for not having my phone for a photo op, but I thought I would catch him at the end of the show with minimal fuss…how wrong I was…
After the credits rolled, Roger took to the stage and was met with the biggest cheer of the night. That made me happier than any selfie ever could.

Lol. That’s fair enough. He’s got a decent following here in the UK…just in different circles is all. This is why I love film music. It covers all genres and gets me into all sorts of other music. Zimmers collaborations are either utterly inspired or completely WTF. Sayer falls into the former category.

The music from the WBUK reel isn’t from Interstellar, is it? Some of it doesn’t even sound like Zimmer.
Yes your right, its from trailer 4; Thomas Bergersen – Final Frontier

@TechTuts, how’s your recorded version going?

@TechTuts, how’s your recorded version going?
Since there are a lot of recordings of certain tracks e.g. NTFC, end credits, I am going to combine the best of each bit to make a stereo track, then use mine for the rest of the film.
I am having a go at NTFC now, it seems to have the most recordings
Both discs have a slight warp which causes a thumping sound in quieter tracks, there are two big dent-like marks on Side B and further marks on Side D; all of which are very much audible and visible. Plus overall the surface noise is poor.
Wanted to rip it but I’m gonna send it back; and while I’m not massively hopeful about getting much better..try and get another one.

Which release did you buy? The UK pressing, or the US one? Probably the UK, since the US version from WaterTower doesn’t come out till later this month. Maybe the pressings will have different quality? Hopefully, since you seem to be disappointed in your copy.
Do you think the discs are warped because of how they were handled during the shipping process, or do you believe they were already like that?
April 7th, Interstellar is back in theaters for a one-night screening.
Didn’t it already have a re-release in IMAX theaters for limited viewing??
The selective run in 250 US theaters includes behind-the-scenes video from the Blu-ray release, interviews with Christopher Nolan, Hans Zimmer, and theoretical physicist Kip Thorne, and red carpet interviews from the gala screening at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
INTERSTELLAR Returns to Theaters for Special One-Night Screening | Nerdist (http://nerdist.com/interstellar-returns-to-theaters-for-special-one-night-screening/)
 I quoted, virtually, the entire page.
Yep, with "12 minutes of new footage!!!" which was really just behind-the-scenes stuff. I’m sure there were a lot of disappointed people that night.
I wonder how long the studio thinks they can milk Interstellar through these limited one-night re-releases.
Anyway… that sucks about your vinyl, DK… you’d think that if they were pressing the vinyl – a niche market, to be sure – they’d bother to do it right, so it’s hopefully a defect and not a widespread problem.
I remembe now.
However, it did word the articles correctly that it was for behind-the-scenes material and not actual new footage of the film itself.
———- Post added at 06:14 PM ———- Previous post was at 06:11 PM ———-
so-called "audiophile" sticker
:erm: Who runs the company? Kids?
Back when it was first announced, I found one article that correctly stated that it was nothing more than BTS stuff. Others I found all read "Chris Nolan never does deleted scenes, but there are 12 minutes worth for Interstellar! I wonder what character they’ll focus on! I wonder if it’ll be mind-blowing!" All inaccurate, of course. It was kind of funny to see the authors gab about what they thought the "deleted scenes" could be, completely missing the fact that there was no new footage. :p
Anything for more clicks. Online news is 99% garbage/rumors. Annoys me no end.
It was packed very well by the seller, stiff cardboard packaging, doubled up..
The warps on each disc aren’t massively apparent till they’re on the deck and spinning; they’re both quite small and localised to one tight spot but it causes an audible thud on the quieter tracks and the whole tonearm visibly goes up a bit in tandem with it.
The records themselves are in poly anti-scratch/static sleeves with a paper outer. The main packaging is a glossy gatefold but there’s also a nice, tough, clear plastic outer sleeve which makes the whole package feel sturdy. I can’t see those dents/chips/marks on the record happening anywhere but prior to packaging at the pressing plant.
As for the surface noise, I’m under no illusions about vinyl being a perfect format but I have beat up records pressed 40yrs ago that are practically silent. I gave one of the LPs a good clean and anti-static treatment with a distilled water 80% to isopropanol 20% spray; as well as a going over with a carbon fibre brush and it didn’t make the slightest bit of difference. This is not "audiophile vinyl" imo. Hopefully it’s just a rare dud, but for the marks on the surface alone it shouldn’t have made it past Quality Control..

I think they cut that out to maintain a PG-13 rating.
Yep, there it is. And that’s probably why they cut it. I just wish maybe it could’ve been seen just for a few frames. Like right after Joker says "everything burns", the camera can do a quick pan up to lau. Just so that we really know for sure he was burning alive. Or if not at least showed him, heard him screaming.
Jesus. Censorship boards would ban the film if that happened.
Most times they find screaming or yelling too severe or graphic so ask that it get toned down.
You won’t believe the crap they force to tone down, even for something so small as a scream.
Anyway, back to Interstellar 😉
That’s ridiculous. The scene would add nothing while simultaneously taking away some much appreciated subtlety. As Hitchcock knew well, what you don’t see is often scarier than the things that you do.
Anyway, I was going to buy the MOV release of the vinyl but I’m getting the US pressing. This guy can’t afford imports. So hopefully mine will be warp-free
Isnt it included in the Bluray Extras Disc?
Yes.
And they’ll be shown again at the re-re-release this week in select theaters.
Yes. They had previous one-night exclusive in select IMAX theaters.
And now again in (I guess regular) select theaters.
Yes it has been released and there are no deleted/unused scenes in there. And I watched the special features too, I def don’t recall anything involving an ultimately deleted scene.
Also MOAR vids from Live concert:

Yeah, from what I heard that was specifically shot for the marketing campaign.
If a vinyl has audio that is too loud, I think it messes up the needle.
You can tell from that image DK posted that the CD is probably a bit louder than the vinyl.
Makes sense. The FYC scores are probably just straight from the digital source, without any extra mastering involved. For the retail CD, engineers love to make their stuff loud.
Arguably, in this sense the FYC would be superior.
To further differentiate the different versions, the vinyl mastering has to be more appropriately matched to cutting the lacquer/acetate disc as well as playback of the end product; it’s a delicate process and so certain frequencies have to be attenuated. Mastering the bass too wide or mastering the treble too loud can cause damage to the cutting lathe as well as cause playback issues and distortions for those who playback the resulting vinyl records.
I think the demographic of vinyl consumers also expect a certain type of sound.
It’s just a shame that the Hi-Res downloads aren’t sourced from a similar master to the vinyl copies rather than the same master used for the CD.
They know their respective audiences, at least. Most consumers are used to the mind-bogglingly loud noise that CDs offer, and so offer the hi-res files that way; vinyl junkies, meanwhile, are used to a less ear-splitting and bombastic sound coming from their turntable, and are given the nuanced sound that they are used to.
It’s a shame that the hi-res files were sourced from the CD masters… but that’s the way it goes.
CD’s do have limitations, so they can’t really be made as loud as they can.
They could, but that’s just poor mastering.
Their bit depth limits their signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_bit_depth
"The bit depth limits the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the reconstructed signal to a maximum level determined by quantization error. The bit depth has no impact on the frequency response, which is constrained by the sample rate."
Scroll down to Dynamic Range:
"Dynamic range is the difference between the largest and smallest signal a system can record or reproduce. Without dither, the dynamic range correlates to the quantization noise floor. For example, 16-bit integer resolution allows for a dynamic range of about 96 dB."
Going above 96 dB will likely cause clipping.
You would need 24 bit to go beyond that range.
But CD’s are limited to 16 bit depth only.
There could be HDCD’s where the bit depth allowed is 20-bit (only 20), but those are rarely made these days.
A soundtrack is likely to be found on HDCD.
SACD allow different ranges, but again not many OST’s make it here, either.
The best solution for higher range soundtrack is a bluray transfer, as it can use a wide range of formats.
Digital files can be loud as they want because they can be any format with any bit depth and any sampling rate.
CD’s can be loud too, but if not normalized, they’ll clip.
And clipping you can hear. Pirates of the Caribbean 1 OST was severely clipped.
Clipping is gross and when I hear it even minimally I like to open up the song in Audacity and see the sea of red clipping. Then I go and fix it myself.
I’ve met some wonderful people here and wouldn’t like to lose contact with ’em.

It’s probably fine since its private, can always post unlisted pastebin links with links inside
Could run the pastebin links as long as possible.
Should make rules quickly before someone decides to post a direct link before the group has a chance to grow.

He has stated (however) that this is designed only for staying in contact, not for any of the illegal sharing (piracy) that we do here. So if you’re all looking for an actual replacement for this you’ll have to keep looking, but if you’re just looking to stay in contact it’s perfect.
Just got a copy of the vinyl, but either need to get a new cartridge for my vintage TT or just buy a Project Debut Carbon
Also been listening to the soundtrack with my new subwoofer (LSR310s to go with my LSR305’s), Stay and Detach are amazing.
Or maybe it’s just my turntable spinning a touch too fast. First time this is noticeable. Everything else I have seems fine. Especially Batman Begins.

There are samples of each track ripped from the vinyl here (http://www.juno.co.uk/products/zimmer-hans-interstellar-soundtrack/564062-01/), mono only unfortunately. I’m guessing they used a decent TT and pitch sounds fine on it.
I should be able to try mine out on tuesday/wednesday
The European Sony (Music on Vinyl) pressings done in Belgium I think. The US WaterTower pressings are done by WaterTower themselves in the US – Furnace MFG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKE3zH6MPB4 – supposed to be out on Record Store day and it’s up for pre order at Amazon at the end of the month….
The issues I mentioned are on all 4 sides 😛 and same as what Donkee said too :/
The 70mm IMAX version is two minutes shorter than the regular 70mm, Digital IMAX, 35mm, and digital projection versions. This is because the end credits are played in an abbreviated slide-show form (rather than scrolling from bottom to top), due to the size capacity of the IMAX platters, which can hold a maximum of 167 minutes of film.

Ya my plan is to get the WaterTower pressing on Saturday. I almost bought the MoV version but decided to wait cause I couldn’t afford it. Shame to hear that it’s not up to par with what it should be. I honestly feel the companies don’t give one single fuck about the qualities of their products.

If you could let us know how the WaterTower pressing is that’d be fantastic. I’d love to exchange mine for the import but given I purchased from Amazon UK which only has the MOV pressing on sale then so I’m asking for refund then re ordering from Amazon US/WaterTower.
Out of all the vinyls that I have this is def the worst one, and even I wouldn’t mind of the issues if not for the whole pitch issue which really ticks me off every time I listen to it. Hell, the drops on Side C between Murph and Detach are horrible. Really horrible.

Will do, definitely. I plan on ripping and posting it. My turntable is not some stellar, high-end glorious piece of equipment and the needle isn’t so great, but it gets the job done. My vinyl rips always have interference/noise and it’s because of the turntable. It’s definitely not meant for an audiophile. It’s not so bad when I rip an actual song, like say Tom Petty’s Don’t Come Around Here No More, because there’s so much going on that you don’t hear the interference. It’s different with a score when there’s lots of silences and subtle moments.
Anyway, I’m expecting it to be as bad as the MoV version and we’ll just have to wait and see. The fact that the decision was made to include Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night speaks volumes.
Here’s a little taster for now though: http://goo.gl/f8kB2O
..MEGA link, renamed, double-zipped and password protected to hopefully avoid takedown.

Bear in mind my cartridge is brand new/not broken in and I hadn’t fully calibrated/aligned it at this point so it’s a little harsh plus I forgot to unplug my laptop mains supply which drops the noise floor about another 6db. But still, the mastering is clearly better imo. Just hope myself and/or DAK can get a good quality pressing. *fingers crossed*
P.s. Only have limited bandwidth on mega until next month, so any mirrors will be appreciated. Link should be good for up to 30 individual downloads of the file.
I feel like with everything lately that as time goes by, the quality that is put into a product is less and less. If it were say, Mondo then I wouldn’t be worried. But it’s WaterTower, who has plagued customers with problems in the past. I almost expect to get a shitty pressing so this way if I don’t, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Just had a listen – your one is even better than mine – doesn’t have the pitch issue!
Is yours pressed off centre? Even if it’s off slightly and the stylus moves visibly left/right it will cause pitch shift. Organs are also one of the most sensitive instruments to pitch shift. LP1 in mine had this..
Side B is a mess, A is okish.
Side A is a mess

The edge of side C is damaged badly
Ahh ok. Ya that’s the one DonkeeKong said is fudged up. I’ll be getting the WaterTower pressing on Saturday and will rip it ASAP. My expectations are so low that I’ll be shocked if it’s not as bad as the MoV pressing
Isn’t that insane? I’ve never seen it either. It’s because there is not one single source cue in the entire film. It’s all score.
Now that you’ve seen it, go buy the damn Blu-ray and post a pic of the IMAX cell in my thread! (Thread 188317)
And what was your favorite part of the movie? If you have one yet. Remember to use a spoiler tag

Crazy or what? I guess you’re right, but there are some sessions I have that have gaps with no source explanation. Just a random gap.
I would if I had a blu-ray player, but I don’t. I’ve never bought a blu-ray before, as I can’t play them. Do the IMAX cells only come in the blu-ray package? I’m guessing there’s a 2-Disc DVD release of it somewhere which I might get. If money wasn’t an issue, I’d buy a blu-ray just for the IMAX cell. 🙂
Favourite part? Gee, that’s tough. Ok, here we go:
Visually: my favourite parts were a) Going through the wormhole and b) When the Endurance was passing by the black hole. Absolutely stunning stuff. A real shame I never saw this in the cinema, damn it.
Mentally: my favourite parts were a) When Coop & Co. get back to the Endurance after escaping the first planet (Miller’s?) having taken up 23 Earth years. Absolutely awesome mind-gasm. (One quick question about that bit – does this mean they spent just over three hours on Miller’s planet? Because I didn’t seem that long. Did it really take that long for the craft to drain from the first wave?) and b) When I realised who the ghost was when Cooper enters the tesseract-thingy.
Suspense/Action: my favourite parts were a) the waves on Miller’s planet. Terrifyingly awesome. And b) Mann and Cooper’s fight on Mann’s planet. Finally, some human conflict. And c) Mann’s attempted docking and resulting implosion. That bit literally made me jump out of my skin. I was expecting it to a certain extent, but it still made my cat regret sleeping on my lap whilst I watched.
Emotionally: my favourite parts were a) Cooper watching his kids’ messages after returning from Miller’s planet. And b) Prof. Brand’s death. And c) Cooper’s despair inside the tesseract-thingy.
How about you?!
BTW Sully, as far as the 23 years, don’t forget that the gravitation pull isn’t only on the surface of the planet. As soon as they broke the atmosphere they were captured by the gravity. So you also have to factor in the time to get down (which is why Cooper chooses to descend so quickly) and also to get back up to endurance.

Good point. Guess it all adds up.
About the ending, that was the one bit I didn’t quite get into. What really happened??

Cooper went back through the wormhole (remember, "Coooper Station" is said to be orbiting Saturn already so it’s a relatively short trip to the wormhole this time). He then went onto Edmunds planet to re-unite with Amelia Brand and help to raise the new colony. At least that’s the way I see it, anyone else see it differently?
yep, he came out of the wormhole, they found and rescued him and took him to the space station. When Murph found out he was there, she decided to go visit him. Although due to the difference in timeflow, she was now an old woman. Then Coop (feeling totally out of place in that artificial world) borrowed a ship, went through the wormhole again to re-unite with Murph in the colony she was starting with the help of the robot.
But how did he get out of the tesseract and get back through the wormhole?? And when was Cooper Station (or Coooper Station, if you like) built?? What actually is it? And if mankind are living on it, why do they need a new planet?? And how did anyone find Cooper? Just floating around space?? Wouldn’t he have died of starvation or thirst… or run out of oxygen before then?? And why did he only talk with Murph for, like, two minutes when he’s nearly died trying to save her and see her again through the entire movie?!?!?!?????
I dunno. lol.

yeah but the interesting thing is to look at the movie title and principally the back star light form : it matches the music frequency, totally awesome lol
That’s a relief. All 4 sides? I think C & D are the worst from what I’ve heard

Mine should be arriving Friday, can’t wait to give this a new listen….hope it’s good.
It just indefinitely loads… 🙁
And turns out the pitch issue was with my turntable, it was spinning too fast, at closer to 34rpm. Had to get a tiny screwdriver to adjust it down to 33.3 and it’s all good 🙂
Kinda pointless now since I’ve ripped it, but it plays fine for me. The settings are public – anyone can view it
Just put in my US WaterTower pressing….so. Much. Cleaner. Difference is night and day…this is THE Interstellar vinyl I’ve been waiting so long for.

Now are you able to rip, or no?
Rather unfortunately not – don’t have the equipment to do so.
Surface noise is the main issue. Gonna get a WaterTower/US pressing seeing as it seems to be the best version out there.
On another slightly related note, Inception & The Dark Knight have both just got a repress and can be got from US/Canada for about ???25. Received The Dark Knight on Saturday from Canada…suffice to say, these Warner/Sunset/Reprise pressings are on a whole other level compared to more recent soundtracks under the WaterTower labels.
Me too, me too!!!! Please! Thank you soooo much!
The lik no longer works. Would you re-up? Thanks for sharing!
Best,
