Playing retro games today, which games maintain their age well (like FFVI and Chrono Trigger), and which ones seem to lose out a bit (for me, FFV).
Happy belated New Years everyone (I’m very new to the forum) 🙂
Well playing all fantasy game, must take lot of time … I played the final fantasy I & II remake for gameboy with an emulator and this was incredibly boring :
the bonus parts were after some times a bit frustrating, too much repetitions.
I loved FFVI too. I liked the 2D graphics, especially with the filters of emulators.
I liked a bit every final fantasy from VII to X , didn’t play other (beside I & II ).
The end of ffX was a bit boring, I hated the dark aeons quest.

I wouldnt touch XII at all tbh. I liked some moments in 10. I really liked FF1 tbh, I felt it was way ahead of its time and set up a lot of themes for future titles. But YES everything from 4,6-9 is golden for me. For some reason I’m not too fond of 5 and thought that both 4 and 6 were stronger entries =)
I hate all the filler in the new games (such as dark aeon quests and bounties)
Dragon Quest is also a true classic!
Completed just the story of VI once, and quite frankly I don’t see myself picking that game up again, unlike VII/VIII/IX/X-2. There was no spark.
