I have come accross ffshrine seven years ago. As a video game, motion picture and anime music fan this site is heaven for me and my passion, which I care for every year by then.
I have built an amazing collection of 100 GB of music thanks to this site and others. And time has come for me to contribute on this wonderful site by sharing a wonderful collection I own thanks partly to this forum. I hope many people will look forward!
It’s my first very important upload so please comment if you wish more details or improvements on the thread.
Some statements should be made first:
1. All uploads are mine, though the original files were downloaded from several sources. Credits to pre-edited files goes mostly to rabotash. For the files not provided by him I put the credits in the downloads section.
2. Since I own these files REUPLOADS are accepted just pm me or post a reply on the thread if anything goes wrong.
3. If you download from the thread, it will be great you leave a like or/and comment so that everyone on ffshrine enjoys this awesome music as the thread lives on.
4. You can share these links upon request (pm me for the people interested).
In any case please credit me as well as the persons mentioned in the credit section of the corresponding album.
5. I will keep the thread updated as new music is published but you will have to wait first I edit the tags properly.

Why is it the BEST EVANGELION Discography?
1 – It has the most complete collection of EVANGELION official soundtracks ever!
2 – The collection is in the best audio quality you can ever find on the internet that is :
LOSSLESS ALAC* files (M4A, 44100kHz, 16 bit)
3 – Some albums are still not available in LOSSLESS and so they are proposed in the best quality possible to find. Available Music files quality is indicated for each album.
4 – For those who don’t want to load their hard drive excessively, MP3 files can be obtained from lossless sources via simple conversion software.
5 – Most albums include scans and notes. For the others a minimum of basic cover is provided.
6 – I am a maniak when it comes to music and after 2 weeks of editing I can ensure you those files have THE MOST ACCURATE** tags on each files for the whole collection:
– Albums names, Artists, Covers, Releases years, Music name is filled the most precisely ever
– It contains lyrics for 74 differents songs across the whole EVA universe (from the anime to the Rebuild movies) (!!!!INCLUDING the DRAMA in NGE Addition!!!!)
– Even small details were taken care of (ex: Name of the character corresponding to a Seiyuu voice, appropriate file names for the whole collection,…)
* ALAC is the same thing than FLAC just that you can natively read it on Itunes, which you can’t with FLAC. Concerning the music quality both are equal. Whoever says the opposite is fooling you!
It were true that ALAC files were disregard in a recent past because the codec was not free and belonged to Apple. Since one or two year it is not more the case and since I use Itunes I prefer those files.
**For songs which have several versions "[ ]" are used to differentiate them so no confusion is possible (e.g.. Beautiful World, Beautiful World [Instrumental]). Along with the Scans text files can be present either to have the full japanese name of the album or to state artists or tracklist.
A small note before downloading, please extract the files using the Unicode (UTF-8) encoding from your extraction software for proper filenames (but it won’t change anything to the tags of the files if you don’t).

I don’t see your point, they are all official scans. Check out the Into the box picture it displays mostly all the contents which are available as scans. Unless you have proof there is bootlegged product. If so feel free to prove it to me because I believe it is all official.
You should also remind that depending on the edition the scans may vary as the box format may change.

Actually I think it will happen but I need to download the files from a torrent and then edit all the tags accordingly to the files present here so they are the most accurate possible. I will be quite busy soon but it may be done before september if all goes well.

And yes definitively LOSSLESS is LOSSLESS I mean FLAC=ALAC in quality terms. Otherwise it’s just that you can read ALAC natively on Itunes (which I use)

Yeah you will have them in ALAC (which is equivalent to FLAC but is natively readable in Itunes) which are .M4A files.

No they are not the same I can ensure you, the covers are different, the release is different. I can show you the vgmdb link with the upcoming update. The songs are the same but they come from different CD.

I think MEGA is by far the best uploading site. Its interface is well designed, you don’t have trouble concerning the size of the file you want to upload, you organize easily the data.. I don’t count changing that. Besides it would take me a long time.
UPCOMING UPDATE
I will DELETE the MP3 versions of the LOSSLESS albums and singles. Albums that I won only in MP3 will be kept.
The reason is simple: The Mp3 version I propose here are simply conversions of the lossless ones. I can easily guide anyone interested to a free software that will do the job of converting ALAC to MP3 for free and will keep all the metadata (music tags) intact.

Now, I’ve downloaded several discs from your collection and I have some concerns that I’ll proceed to detail now:
1. In some cases, while the names of the music files are in English, the songs’ names available in the metadata are in Japanese. That’s the case, for instance, in The End of Evangelion. Obviously it’d be better to have that metadata in English too — and I’m sure most users would probably agree :-). Otherwise, why having such inconsistency?
2. Not all the metadata fields are filled and maniacally organized, as the OP claims. In fact, many important fields like genre and composer (among others) are just empty. Just saying, so users know that still they’ll have to manually edit some tags.
3. Biggest concern: even though this collection has been ripped in order to be as friendly as possible in the Apple ecosystem, the bitrate of some songs is just too high to be handled in an iPod. That means that those tracks can’t be copied to an iPod, unless the user modify them using some software like Audacity. (I’m totally ignorant on this regard, and if someone could help me out I’d really appreciate it.)
That’s it. Thanks again for your post and hopefully these issues will be taken in consideration if you re-upload your albums.

The problems for the torrent idea is that I am not inclined to seed it simply: it would not be possible for my slow connection.
Now coming to your concerns:
1. The Japanese names are the original names. Period. The english name are just for us from the Occident to understand their meaning hence I keep them in their original format. This is the way they are meant to be. I believe the cases you are mentioning are in US available albums. It doesn’t change that my proceeding follow the original release.
I kinda found a way to palliate this concern though. In Evangelion S2 Works, the names of the japanese tracks is also given in English. Since the S2 Works album contain all EVANGELION music from the Anime it covers a wide range of albums and therefore address your issue. Again I did not modify the other albums to stick to the original tracklist.
2. They are maniacally organized. I easily spent two weeks on them and I can guarantee I cross check many available database. Then again I clearly mentioned in my OP that:
Albums names, Artists, Covers, Releases years, Music name is filled the most precisely ever. And for these, it is absolutely true
The other fields are left empty either for personal or for logical reasons.
I admit it would benefit the users that I put the discnumber or totaltrack fields. However this is something I never do / did because it is not a feature that is apparent when you play your songs on IPOD. It would not be difficult to change though if I ever feel the desire to (which might probably happen for completion sake).
Composers field to me is something that never made sense to me. A composer is an artist. Again, when playing your music on IPOD you don’t see the composer while playing the music but the artist only. This does not make sense as the composer is (if not) the main person you should credit in the artist section. Hence, in my case, you will always find the composer in the artist field.
Genre of the music is also menaningless to me. How do you define a genre to music? Even classic music can be interpreted and viewed to many genres and therefore it is a too subjective field to fill.
3. I have actually the same issue and it is actually normal, nothing we can do about it. Remastered edition offers top quality file music and consequently requires adequate equipment to listen and profit of it. If you count on downgrading the music files so that you can put it on IPOD then you better not put it at all in the first place. There is not point of having two time the same music files right?
Due to this last concern and that my music collection (frantically and maniacally organized) is taking too much disk space, I equipped myself with a FiiO X5 2nd Gen. No more disk space issue neither the problem of having too high quality music files 😉

Thanks for all this, man, I finally got to update some truly ancient mp3s in my collection as well as fill out the rest of the gaps.
One quick question, the three loose CATs there – Guitar, Harmonia, and Shinji. Do you know which albums those are off of, and if they’re any in this? Your collection already let me delete several dozen loose files, I’d like to round it off.
While working on them, it was very helpful to look at the slates (those "EM10", "2EM15", "3EM20" things in the titles) I also noticed that he also used the slates from the original series whenever he adapted one of those cues (for example, "EMA_13_C" is an adaptation of "A13 Type-C" of the original series, "EM07_B16" uses "B16", etc.). It was incredibly helpful the "S� Works" which basically presents all tracks from the series with that "A13", "B16" format.
With this in mind, I also worked on the 2.0 and 3.0 film scores, but in that case, I had some problems: tracks like "2EM05_KK_B09", "2EM06_KK_B16", "2EM12_KK_A09" did not match at all with the "S� Works" album. Same goes for a couple of cues from 3.0, as 3EM02_C17B, 3EM06_C_16, 3EM07_C_15.
On this website (http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?/topic/20819-the-complete-cue-lists-thread/&page=17&tab=comments#comment-1160043) I found out that those 3.0 tracks C17B, C16 and C15 actually use tracks from another series he made, called "Nadia: The Secret Of Blue Water" (here’s a complete album for the Nadia series which shows the slates https://vgmdb.net/album/31716).
Since Sagisu used music from other shows, is it safe to say that those cues from 2.0 that don’t match with the "S� Works" album are using music from other Sagisu works? Maybe that "KK" in the title can be helpful to identify it. I also wonder if "SS", "SD" and "P" mean something, along with the "YAMASHITA" from the 2.0 OST.
I guess the booklet may go inside these definitions, but since they’re written in Japanese, I have no way to understand what’s written there.

I might suggest starting with the Bleach soundtrack: I know he pulled from that for parts of Shin Godzilla.
Looking for each soundtrack would be an incredibly long and painful work… I wish a Sagisu nerd would be around here to help us.
Or maybe even someone who could read the booklet notes on the release, the info we’re looking for could be there.
I also thought that the "KK", "SS", "SK" may be some of the performers’ names or be just an instrument. The "P" in the 3.0 could be the Piano, "SS" could be Shiro Sagisu himself… After all, "Kuriya" from 2EM20 stands for Makoto Kuriya, one of the Piano and Rhodes performers. I wonder if the "YAMASHITA" stands for multiple persons (like "Ya" for one, "Ma" for another, and so on with "Shi" and "Ta").
I’d say that translating the booklet would be a huge step forward already. Maybe someone already did that in another website?

EDIT: Looking into the complete list of releases on VGMdb, I found a show he scores with double K as initials: Kareshi Kanojyo.

As an addendum there are two versions of "2EM13_EM20_Alterna". The Evangelion 2.0 OST cuts down the one that’s included, but the "Evangelion 2.02" bonus feature includes another which is longer and has a different drum track played by Jerome Brown (referred to as "Jerry" on Shin Godzilla’s OST). I think I uploaded the Jerome Brown drum version previously.
Meanwhile, I looked for those cues on YouTube, since I couldn’t find a working link. Turns out I was right!

Pretty sure Nadia has been posted here before, maybe in the Lossless Anime Soundtracks thread. As for Kare Kano, I’ve not seen that on here and Google turns up very little except the OSTs.

Seems the pre-visual reel for Shin Godzilla has ‘different’ music, much like the Evangelion 2.02 pre-visual reel has earlier versions of Evangelion 2.0 cues. It has EM20_Jerry Full with the Evangelion timpani as opposed to the Shin Godzilla timpani, plus guitars in the same place as EM20 in Evangelion 1.0 (given this I’m going to assume it’s actually from Evangelion 1.0). Will report back to see if it has any other alternates and I will rip it once I’ve done.
EDIT: Seems that it’s largely EM20s. However, there is that one unreleased Evangelion 1.0 EM20 Jerry variant.

Yes, it’s the first one on the list. All the other EM20 variants are on the Shin Godzilla sountrack. Given the instrument mix and the guitars being used, it’s a safe bet to say this belongs in Evangelion 1.0 and was remixed for Shin Godzilla’s EM20_GZM_Jerry, with the harps and guitars stripped out and the new timpani recording replacing the old one.

I think they improved the quality for this one (at least as i can hear more clear the instruments in the background when i somehow i always heard they blend it overall, well just in my opinion).

The song labelled Yamashita is from the ost of the movie "The man who stole the sun", Its even in the trailer.
Yamashita is either the guy playing this version of the song or the name of the character for which the song serves as theme, I dont remember.
