By the way, I noticed the PLANETARY SOUNDS soundtrack was 260+mb; it is in lossless? Just asking given the soundtrack is 68mins long, and even at 320CBR it’s improbable the filesize would reach that amount.

I’m fairly certain those are the only new tracks from Namco’s sound team. The rest of the music is either from older Ridge Racer games (you’ll find songs such as Freak Out and Orbital Rock on the Ridge Racer 7 OST) or licensed music.

Why I did not made a singular thread for this? Because someone will soon drive over with it’s glorious flac files, and my thread will be easy forgotten.
So I am happy enough to give some homage here to TheTKC 😉

The soundtrack of this one never really got onto me. But as I was hearing it, mainly to hit down the Nonstop mix and adding infos on vgmdb, I learned to like it. It’s nothing compared to the 20th Anniversary (why am I comparing to that? stupid asshole. xD) but it is enjoyable good enough, and yes, some tracks do stand out in your brain.
The Nonstop Mix sucks. Atsushi Ohara worked better in 20th Anniversary extra disc, MUCH BETTER. Maybe it’s due to the style in this RR game, but still, it does have a certain level of "suckage" :/

I agree 100% with an OFFICIAL Rage Racer OST & Mix. Even though I already have the actual PS1 game and it’s "redbook" audio rip, an OFFICIAL release would pretty much complete the "Ridge Racer" series…

Does anyone know if there is any difference between Ridge Racers 2 Special MegaMix, BNG-P002 and the iTunes offering of Ridge Racers 2 Special DJ MegaMix?

Is the "DJ" in the title the only difference?

Also on iTunes, "Motor Species Remix" is listed as being in between "Synthetic Life" and "Chrome Drive" during the complete mix track itself.

Any help would be great in clearing this up for me. THX in advance!

it’s not listed in vgmdb, but that track is correct. "Motor Species Remix" is already in the BNG-P002. Only difference is that the tracks are separated. I don’t know if it’s worth having it or not.
Some megamixes, yeah, you kinda wanted to have separated tracks. But This one… I really like to hear it in full. :/ I don’t know. To each it’s own. You think it’s worth buying it even when separated tracks are the difference ?

I already have the disc itself (2 copies), but I was curious if anyone knew of any differences. Doesn’t seem like it (besides the exact title). I have extra credits on this @pple gift card from out in town to use up. I may pull the trigger on it just to have…
