Question to the mods regarding banning someone

Maybe I should have done this via PMs, but frankly the member in question has been such a nuisance to me and a lot of others that I don’t even wnant to ask this secretly.

Can someone here please permanently ban Garage? I’m requesting this because he spends his time on this board inventing fake people and luring honest souls towards him who give him sessions and then he makes them fake sessions in return, over and over again. I thought I had seen the last of him a couple weeks ago, but no, this morning I was yet again confronted with one of Garage’s shenanigans, when a friend of mine asked me to confirm if a Harry Potter session was legit or not. I took a listen and immediately recognised Garage’s work.

I have spent nearly a yer on this great forum and have made many friends, discovered treasures I would never have dreamed of discovering and enjoyed exchanging thoughts with other members, but I am so bloody brassed off with this one member. I and others keep bumping into him during private matters and he should be punished for his evil way of abusing people. He meddles in things he shouldn’t be involved in and is made of hypocrisy and lies. Please save us from this accident of God.

Not "garbage". His name is Garage–you know like the place you keep your car in if you have a lot of money. I whole-heartedly and agree with the claims this member has made against Garage. He/She is a plague that needs to be abolished from this forum. See here for more information: Thread 96411 Without a doubt, Garage is the person who previously ran this blog. The blog got shut down and so he came here. The only stuff he has posted openly here are the worst and most extensive DVD rips I have ever seen. What he shares privately and what he previously had on that blog, he claims are demos, recording sessions, and even music from the complete demo recording sessions–which makes no fucking sense. He generates fake slate numbers and has quite a signature editing technique, but all his "recording sessions" are nothing more than DVD rips.

When something is produced from Garage, it is always making a journey to the surface. This is not how real recording sessions leak. There is no journey. I can ramble on, but it is eating time now.

I have been offered a fake (Inception Expanded Score, 45 tracks) by Garage…and he wanted rare things in return.
It isn’t personal, but I don’t think it’s acceptable that some members get tricked to give sessions and then get fake ones in return!

I can’t believe that little fucker is still hanging around here–and still thinking he can get away with giving people shitty DVD rips in exchange for legitimate things. Apparently the public shaming is not working. We’re going to have to step up our game.

We don’t ban people for uploading/posting music.

This forum is not for trading, if this happens behind the scenes, we can’t do anything to stop it.

I personally have stated many times that we don’t trade music here and have closed threads because of it. Don’t do it, don’t spend money doing it, just stay away from it. This is a sharing forum, if you’re asked to trade here, then it’s your decision or not to do it. We are not going to punish someone that trades with someone else and if the person/s are unhappy with what they get.

There’s also the fact that film/movie music people seem to have too high a standard when it comes to the music they get, i have seen it get worse over the years. Be happy with what you get and stop complaining when something is posted and isn’t rare or complete or if it’s posted in the wrong section, there is no need for all the hostility over nothing.

Trading is good when you have nice people, and I know lots of them. YOu don’t understand the problem. He actively makes fake scores and produces fake tracklists to get people to trade with him. In other words, honest people think he has something that isn’t shared here – you may not be ware of this, but not everything can be shared… – and gives them fake things in return. He abuses their trust, he asks two things in return for one, and so on. He is mean. Also, if you can direct me to a forum dedicated to trading, I’d be grateful! But that’s beside the point, Garage plays games, creates ficticious characters… Honestly, just make him go!

Thats just weird. Selfish would be the word, digital media can be duplicated so everyone can have it. It’s crazy to keep it to yourself. If it was a physical object I’d understand. But digital?

Some people get rare things…they trade them with people and then they get traded around and then at some time they leak.

Oh god, why did I start this?

People keep rare music to themselves for several reasons: because they don’t wanna get their friends int trouble, because keeping it for yourself might lead you to another wish… Yes, it’s selfish, but has it occured to any of you that no one here owes anyone anyting? Why would you share things in the open? To be thanked by people you odn’t know? NO than I prefer keeping it to myself and getting other things with it, but most of all, if people trust me with things, I don’t abuse their trust.

But we’re digressing, the point of this whole thing was that Garage is a mean fucker. Whether or not you approve of trading, you have to know he’s dangerous and abuses everyone coming to him.For the record, I didn’t approach him. He boasts about wanting to trade and when you come to him he does things you just don’t do as an honest human being.

The whole point of posting everything is it keeps the forum alive with music, so others can post what they have. And so on and on and on and on..

You won’t get anyone in trouble, if you got a newly unreleased score and you post it, no one knows where you got it.

You scratch my back I’ll scratch yours, that’s how the world works. Keeping stuff out of the open and hidden in small groups for personal gain is JUST selfish, thats all it is. If you gave it to everyone, you add to the sharing nature of this site.
Keeping things back is abuse of the system. Yes you can do it, no ones stopping you. But you’re a leach to the forum doing so. Though I’m sure you’ve shared things in the past with everyone, I’m not calling you anything. Just pointing out the selfish and negative use of the forum.

And yes we all owe something to the people of the forum, and to the forum. We all get something out of this forum. Giving back keeps it alive. I have shared in the past though I just talk here now. I’ve got a lot of good music from this forum, and I owe the people of this forum input of my own. We all do.

If someone gives me something today and asks not to spread it around and tomorrow it appears on this site, then where would it come from? From me, of course. Don’t think I like keeping things back, but you just don’t get any further when you share certain things here. This forum is truly fantastic, but you have no idea of the consequences that lsharng everything with everyone can have. Anyway, sharing those rare things isn’t up to me either, that’s up to others.

Yes, I have downloaded lots from these forums, and one day I will give something back, and that’s a promise. But the only thing I was trying to say is that either you trade in an honest way (like most), but Garage is abusing trading! Anyway, trading is good for this forum because all the leaks happen when something is traded around. It’s just that Garage tricks and lies al the time.

I might add that sharing everything might get people under legal issues as well…and that isn’t nice towards those people…

All of the music here can get people under legal issues. But there are to many of us. Thats what keeps us safe, numbers. AKA everyone sharing.

Whats basically happening is the source of the leak is using the music to make profit in some way. And then you traders do the same. You don’t want to give it out because you won’t get anything from it then.
I understand what you’re doing and don’t have much of a problem with it, it’s just, do you really think it helps the forum? Without the mass of people sharing everything there would be no defense from the company’s. Trading to me seems like it’s a negitive on the ammout of people sharing. And thats what allows a place like this to stay around.

You’re absolutely right, privately sharing doesn’t help this community a lot. Unfortunately, it’s the only giant place where movie music lovers come together that I know, so it’s the best chance I and others have…

I think that if a user behaves very badly privately an hurts people, he/she should be banned or at least get a real telling of. It hasn’t anything to do with trading…that it’s unacceptable to behave badly on ffshrine!

I still don’t see it as that big of an issue? Those who took the time to read stuff like FAQ/Instructions know they have the tools to solve the problem on their own. I understand the nuisance, but as Jessie said… Staff here can’t really do much when things happen behind the scenes/through private messages… Otherwise, out of coherence we should also ban all those folks which still share releases from the likes of Varese, FilmScoreMonthly…. Or game series like Resident Evil / Bioshock… which would be all forbidden on the Shrine, at the time of this post.

Hey bollemanneke, I support you. I would not appropriate that either. Its sad that there are persons out their that would and are dishonest. I am new hear myself and I see the honest people like yourself but I have also ran into a few who are dishonest. Lets together rise above and be a bigger man than the degenerates who only means is to lie to get somewhere. So say we all!
