Even though he only posted 1 score I was even remotely kinda maybe curious but not really, His contributions to the forum were nice, and I am grateful on the behalf of the other members who did indeed love what was posted, you made them very happy. I feel it was a mistake to leave. I think it was all one big ball of misunderstanding, and it is unfortunate you felt the need to leave. I would hope you still read the forum, and may still reconsider your decision.

People saying, aw it’s not in Flac, or the awful way i’ve seen people say, such and such track is missing, such and such is not the film version…Yeah those aren’t supposed complaints…those are actual complaints, which were stupid and unwarranted…Scorepranos posted things in Flac, some in 320 mp3, others in 224, some in 192, so don’t you think that if he had the ability to upload some of them in Flac, he would’ve, if it’s in 192 kbps thats because it was all he had. He wasn’t stupid, he knew how audio worked, so the complaints of the quality weren’t necessary, nor were the complaints about tracks missing, or non-film versions, etc. It’s discussion yes, but they’re also complaints. Unecessary ones. If i got that kind of stuff on anything I tried to upload, I’d leave too. I’m not happy he left, but I totally understand why he did. I seem to actually recall him saying in one thread he intentionally downgraded. In fact, he even said the more people complained, the lower he’d downgrade. Missing tracks: I’ll give you that. I don’t think he was intentionally holding stuff back like with The Avengers: people moaned about what was on the Intrada release versus the sessions, but it’s likely that those were placed on a separate disc that hasn’t surfaced.

He has posted some good stuff, I’m really glad Spider-Man 3 and The Avengers came out finally, so I do say thank you to him for that.

Someone who gets hissy fits about discussion of his shares in a discussion forum is ridiculous. If he didn’t want complaints, comments or questions he should have set up a blog instead and cut out the comment section.

No, for the most part they weren’t. You saw "It’s not the film version" as someone whining. They were in fact, providing information that members like myself find interesting if not downright valuable.

I for one greatly appreciate it when uploaders include paragraphs like that. Yes, I would read them! And like ggctuk2005 said, scorepranos did not always share the best quality he had (see here (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/transformers-dark-moon-complete-score-steve-jablonsky-117873/5.html#post2033834)). I’m not saying scorepranos was wrong to give us 192 mp3s, I’m just suggesting that you should get your facts straight before making your arguments.

Eh, whatever. If you wish to believe that go for it. I’m done arguing. I mostly share my stuff through PM now anyways, for obvious reasons.

If the uploader put it up in a certain quality that was up to them to do so, and im sure they had some sort of reason for it. If you want a better quality, track it down yourselves and rip it yourselves.

This is it, you see. Personally, I’d rather have the music than not. So what if it’s in a lower bitrate, or if there’s a cue or two missing? I’m not going to nitpick, like for instance, with The Avengers, where some of what I was after was on the Intrada set I bought anyways. It’s unreleased music all the same. I’m with gcctuk2005 on how it’s better to have the music in whatever format than not at all! However, people are never satisfied with what they do get and will always want better and more. It’s that kind of attitude that puts the serious collectors off from sharing at the end of the day.

I’ll just say this: People should be grateful for what they get.

In fact, it’s threads like this which are making his "return" less likely.

If this kind of "Oh no! Scorepranos has left for good, quick everyone, let’s say goodbye and how much we missed him!" didn’t get posted, spreading this information so widely, then scorepranos might even consider to continue posting. After all, he could have shrugged his shoulders and come back after he cooled off a bit or after he put things into perspective.

But of course now, that he’s "gone" he might consider not returning or posting openly again, after all it would look silly for him to keep posting after this thread so blatantly states that he’s decided to leave. In fact wasn’t his statement more about not posting more scores rather than leaving altogether?…

This thread is pointless whichever way you choose to look at it. He knows who appreciated his work, and his shares. And if he’s really into this for sharing and not imaginary sympathy points, he will continue to share. I’m sure he didn’t make any money out of snatching and sharing those soundtracks, so only he knows what his reasons for sharing were. If they were legitimate and in the spirit of giving, he’ll keep posting. If not, then we know he was just in this for his ego boosts.

Imaginary credit for a non-commercial leak of a soundtrack in an anonymous forum is as good as watering plants in the rain.

Yeah, I’m fairly new here but I’ll throw in my 2 cents anyway. I’ve been in the trading scene for a loooong time and I’ve seen a lot of these guys come and go, not to criticize Scorepranos shares in any way. But if one drops the towell, there is always someone else to pick it up. That’s how it goes, that’s how it’s always been.

One question if it is allowed – I hope so – : is that hans zimmer page not a quite illegal site if I’m right?…..I stumbled there over one name that seems quite known to me………I mean I heared something of one of the guys who run that site ….antas……I think as far as I remember he is french…..and I think one of my friends once said that he seemed to have film scores one could dream of……..or he faked this to blend film score collectors with things that aren’t real………but that’s all for now…….I don’t want to seed bad rumours or bad ambient here……..and if it’s wished I can errase this comment….^^

I wish and hope Scorepranos would return but it is his free will to do such. You too?! I saw a discussion on there last night where someone is saying I have the complete scores to all of Alan Menken’s 1990s work just because I posted a number of Disney song instrumentals on here that, up until I’d posted them, no one knew existed in that format! Some people will go to any length to try and ‘will’ something into existence, but on this occasion, it just isn’t going to happen!

Well you leave some other great contributors out, like Wildwood Park, nachito-pop, Erich.Gold, betohome, and some others, i mean if someone of these guys decide not to post anymore they will be miss too, for example Wildwood he`s not posting for quite some time and noboby is talking about that i miss his posts, i`m new here but i have enjoyed more the contributions of these guys than any other.

The fact is that every member is important, and we can`t say that if one member decides to leave this forum will be "boring", c`omon people let`s not be drastic, this Forum is far more important than one individual.

Sure i`m grateful for the Rec Sessions of The Avengers, The Amazing Spiderman, Avatar, The Green Hornet, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man 2

Besides maybe that`s just me but i enjoy more an Expanded or a Complete version, officially release by any label for the listening experience is more satisfactory, and i`m saying this as a musician myself.

Scorepranos thanks for all your amazing shares over the years. Without your contributions I wouldn’t have had the chance to listen to some of my favourite music. I can still remember stopping up into the early hours one night just waiting for Avatar 3CD to be posted.

Still? Ok, my thought. By "this forum will be boring", most of you mean, "no more goodies". I wonder how many of us were really true friends of Scorpranoes. How many of us PM’ed him just to say hey, or ask how he was, with NO discussion of music or posting? Just curious. I can guess, judging by the folks he has chosen to pass stuff along with.

The forum is a place to get music for the major part of you. For a smaller part, it is also a social interaction. Those wanting music may indeed find it "boring" as there are less goodies for them, and just plain ole regular releases. Those who enjoy an occasional conversation will not be affected one bit.
