A lot of people have been looking for the film version of this song. Since no one ever stepped up to it, I decided to not only give you all the Film Version of the song, I also used the original 5.1 source so it is in its original surround sound state instead of a stereo mixdown. So after a little bit of cutting, I present the film version of You Know My Name from Casino Royale in a 5.1 Surround Sound mix (AC3 Format 640kbps).

This can be played through VLC on a surround sound speaker system or opened in Audacity to look at or modify for whatever you might use this for.

An odd mix, the main vocals are in the two front channels, with the harmony vocals in the center channel with the electric guitar. I had to splice the beginning and end of the song from the version played in the ending credits of the film (versus the beginning), but it doesn’t sound any different since I fixed the volume difference. Hope you all enjoy!

If you like this, check out my 5.1 mix of the Skyfall theme!

Edit: Ok, here’s a proper 5.1 mix of Live and Let Die with a very small orchestral intro from the movie. I put the main vocals in the center channel instead of the rear left as the original is set up. The channels seemed to be flipped in the film version (probably unintentional). My mix, in my opinion, is way better than the film version. There is no subwoofer channel, but the center channel carries all of the sub power (speaking of which, the center channel was not used in the film mix so I put Paul’s vocals in there).

Ooo…this should be good. Thanks for the share! So is it basically like the 5.1 version of Skyfall? I’ve never seen the film enough times to know the difference between the film edit and the single released by Chris Cornell. Anyways, thanks for this 🙂

@DAKoftheOTA The 5.1 version of Skyfall was custom made by me from the stereo source of the original and instrumental versions (with some filters to make rear channels). This is taken directly from the movie with the sound designer’s original mix, I spliced the beginning and end so there isn’t any noise and it’s just a clean song. Once Skyfall is available through a consumer source, I will mix an official 5.1 version of that. But it’s the same format and export settings as the Skyfall theme I mixed. The film edit has a lot more orchestral instruments to it, versus a normal pop song with guitars and lots of drums (and not to mention an entirely different vocal track).

I don’t know if it’s the mix used for this version of the song, or the nature of the Blu-ray audio, but this sounds incredible! It’s fuller and clearer than any of the album or single versions, even after converting to 2 Channel .wav & normalizing it to a comparable CD volume level. Thank you so much for this!

NOW… do you have any other Bond Blu-ray discs? I’ve long considered trying to make movie edits of all the opening songs where applicable (already did Skyfall & Another Way To Die,) but the audio quality of this song is soooo much better.

@Geof. This is taken from the Blu-Ray master audio so it should be very clear. I would do it for other Bond movies but their 5.1 mixes (especially on the older ones) are quite funny because they weren’t designed with 5.1 in mind at that time. Tell you what, I will upload Live and Let Die later as a "fixed" mix (vocals not being in the back channels) and see what everyone thinks.
