Use 7zip to extract archives (freeware).
Download (http://www.7-zip.org/download.html)
So it kind of is an all-in-one.
Very handy to have, especially around here where peeps like their .7z extensions.
Thanks Takeshi

But I can’t tell how complete it is. The first pirates is not my favorite after all. Besides, I think the ost is already overkill. Sad, but true. Only the Pirates 3 is good enough to have a complete, in my opinion.
Personally, I think I would enjoy the Dead Man’s Chest OST just as much as I do now if they had only included the first three theme suites (Jack Sparrow, The Kraken, and Davy Jones) because those are probably my three favorite tracks of the entire franchise (that and ‘One Day’ from AWE). The rest of it… I don’t know, it just seems relatively uninteresting (with the exception of a few highlights from "Wheel of Fortune" and "You Look Good Jack"). I think AWE takes the cake just as an overall score, and DMC for best themes. But that’s just my opinion.
On Stranger Tides… not even going to bother adding that one into the equation.

My favorite theme (or cue, I guess) out of the entire Pirates films is in Tia Dalma’s theme. It starts at about 1:30 – when you start to hear the music box. Ugh, love that. The basis for it comes from CotBP, which is my exact point of not having 2, 3, or 4 without it. It’s originally heard in "Underwater March" (although that’s the incorrect name for that piece), when Jack shoots Barbossa
For me, 1 was the classic that started it all, 2 showed what Hans Zimmer can really do if you give him enough time and if he has enough enthusiasm, 3 just made love to the other two with epicness and emotion, and 4 just ended up sounding like the score for a Taco Bell commercial.
I don’t know, maybe I’m bashing 4 too hard. I mean, Blackbeard’s stuff and Angelica’s stuff was actually pretty decent. But I think the whole "Hansy is seasick" thing really showed.
EDIT: Oh, and Mermaids. That was pretty good too.
OMG lmao
I believe that would be called a Thematic Idea, or motif in technical scoring terms.
Sure, idk. I’m not very technical with all this stuff. I just know what cues are, I guess.
What are you, psychic?!?! Let me know when it’s done =)
Anyway Major notable bits missing:
"Crossing blades with a pirate"
Port Royal Attack
"We’re Catching up"
Complete Ritual scenes – I imagine it’s longer than whats here
Ship Battle
Attack At The Gallows film version
I’m sure I’m missing more but these are the memorable missing bits.

Wouldn’t "crossing blades with a pirate" be "swords crossed"? It’s on the OST, but it’s mislabeled as "Will & Elizabeth". It covers that whole scene, Jack and Will having their sword fight before Norrington and his men arrest him
Sure is but it’s the actual film clip, they put MI2 unreleased recording session cues but with pirates just the OST stuff.
I’m talking about the bit when Jack taunts will leading up to Swords Crossed, same bit in DMC when they argue over the chest.
Ah ok. I can’t recall that cue, just that track – "Swords Crossed". One if my faves from this score.
He has a pirates 2 expanded?
If I will get good versions, I will be releasing.

actually, 7-zip does all that for you. as others said: 7-zip is an allrounder.
So, now is this as close to definitive as we have for this score? I do not mean complete, cause I know that it is not, I mean is it the best version? I am gonna get rid of all but 1 version of each film. There are just too many lying around now. between this and transformers, i dunno know what to even listen to anymore….
Now, dead mans chest!! xD
There are however some missing tracks, if anyone would care to post any of them:
Crossing Blades (After Donkey, Before the dual (Swords Crossed))
Port Royal Attack
Catching Up (After Ghost Stories)
Ship Battle (Can’t find this one in any version) (After Broadside)
Ritual before Interupted by jack
Zombies Attack the ship (After Underwater March -> Before Something Incredibly Stupid)
I would appreciate "Ship Battle" the most though.
If I will get good versions, I will be releasing.
It’s OK. I understand. If you get a chance finding the expanded Dead Man’s Chest, please let us know. We’ll wait for ya.
The final demos for POTC 4 was. :p

is this like a demo? because the tracks sound different than they do in the film..
I thought Klaus composed for this, and Zimmer wrote only certain themes, I mean, its almost the same as Alexande Courage and John Williams roles on Superman IV.
Nope, all Hans. Klaus was the co-composer, I think. From the official website:
1.) Fog Bound (2:17)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt
2.)The Medallion Calls (1:53)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, Ramin Djawadi
3.) The Black Pearl (2:17)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, Steve Jablonsky
4.) Will And Elizabeth (2:08)
Hans Zimmer, Steve Jablonsky, Ramin Djawadi
5.) Swords Crossed (3:16)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, Steve Jablonsky, Geoff Zanelli
6.) Walk The Plank (1:59)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, Ramin Djawadi
7.) Barbossa Is Hungry (4:06)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, Geoff Zanelli
8.) Blood Ritual (3:33)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, James Dooley
9.) Moonlight Serenade (2:09)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, James Dooley, Ramin Djawadi
10.) To the Pirates’ Cave! (3:31)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, James Dooley, Ramin Djawadi
11.) Skull And Crossbones (3:24)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, Nick Glennie-Smith, Geoff Zanelli, Ramin Djawadi
12.) Bootstrap’s Bootstrap (2:39)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, Geoff Zanelli, James McKee Smith
13.) Underwater March (4:13)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, Nick Glennie-Smith, Blake Neely
14.) One Last Shot (4:46)
Hans Zimmer, Ramin Djawadi
15.) He’s A Pirate (1:31)
Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, Geoff Zanelli
Now why we can’t get a list of who composed each cue for every film score? – beats me

Dakota, your inbox is full…again.
Not anymore. All gone. This won’t happen anymore.
Now, dead mans chest!! xD
Sorry, I’ve been gone for a while, so I’m quoting this from yesterday but: seriously? You think this is almost complete?! I can guarantee that this is roughly 40% complete. There are still a ton of cues missing including the Port Royale Attack mentioned above, as well as the vast majority of the music that goes with the blood ritual scenes, the ship battle, and all of the inserts in the final fight scenes of the movie.
EDIT: Not to mention: versions of the tracks as they sound in the movie. You know: not so extremely over-amplified, synth-sounding, and bass boosted so that they might fit alongside all the other Pirates music.
He’s A Pirate (alternate) is very nice 🙂

One thing keeps amazing me with POTC soundtracks: how people are able to bitch about nice sharers who release an expanded score for free, and it is still not good enough ?
Enjoy what you get, stop complaining. you’ll live happier that way.:D

Couldn’t agree more, dude. I’m grateful to at least have some more extra music. Sure its not complete but so what?
A few lone voices of sanity…
More people need to have the same philosophy as you guys. I feel like no one is grateful or even thankful anymore. This is probably the best release of CotBP we have yet. I’m so glad we have this, it’s terrific.
Exactly why I dont say much here, people take these releases for granted. Im going to dl this now that im (finally) done dling other stuff.
I keep the various versions. Well, I keep the best one on my external HD, I burn the others on DVD compilations ordered by genre or sometimes composer:). Professionnal deformation I guess (I’m training to become a librarian :D)
Enjoy what you get, stop complaining. you’ll live happier that way.:D
Don’t get me wrong! This was a very nice expansion. There were some cues included here that I was very much after, not to mention the alternate version of "He’s A Pirate." (Not that I was after it, as I didn’t know it existed.) The majority of this expansion was already available on all the previous rips of DVD menu music, though–there are only between 5 and 10 cues here that are totally new and unreleased. I’m not complaining, believe me–and this score was not free for me, but it is for everyone else, thanks to Takeshi.
As for "The Medallion Calls," is the odd sound roughly 7 seconds in? I’m pretty certain that’s supposed to be there–it couldn’t be SFX. My DVD rip of that track doesn’t sound nearly as good, but that noise sounds different in the movie, I think. Protip: the cue that starts around 1:38 actually plays directly before the first half of the track. Both are long enough to be their own tracks, so I don’t know why whoever threw this score together couldn’t have left them as is–or at least have placed them in the right order. This second cue which is actually the first cue can be found on one of the DVD menus, isolated; it is commonly known as "Black Pearl is Real."
This is what I have been searching for since this film came out! Finally I can get rid of all the crappy, SFX-laden DVD rips I’ve come across while searching in vain for this. I know it’s not 100% complete, but it’s good enough for me (especially after years of having nothing but said crappy rips). And if more music should happen to be released later, all the better, but for now this is my version of choice.
Thanks so much!

More people need to be grateful like you. I too, am so happy to have this. It’s WAY better than the OST and all the shitty DVD rips. This is by far one of my favorite releases of this year
Thanks, anyway^^

Also, when DL’ing Disc 1 – until I reup that file, just change the extension to ".zip". When I renamed it I accidentally removed the extension.
