Prior to around 1850 or so the British Navy would refer to the left side of the ship as "Larboard", since then "Port" has been the correct term.

On the Pirates Of The Caribbean ride voice actor Paul Frees while conducting an auction of women, asks one of the "women", "Shift your cargo dearie show them your Larboard side".

I asked my father who was in the Navy what "Larboard" meant after the ride when I was about 9 years old and now I am sharing that tidbit with you folks.

When I was last in Salem,MA I took some pictures of Pirates painted on the side of a brick building close to the wharf.

The Haunted Mansion CD, exclusively available at Disney Theme Parks, guides the listener through the attraction as it appears in its current…incarnation on Track 1. Randy Thornton recreated the full audio experience of The Haunted Mansion for the track. This meant layering ambient sounds and sound effects with the score, character voices and songs found in the attraction. The result is an immersive audio experience, as if you were actually riding through the attraction in your doom buggy. Yeah but that one sweetmeats was asking for was an official release, that was in 2009 and I managed to grab myself a copy of it. Yeah you could say the Kiosks were bootlegs that made CDs of ride music but I believe I saw a site which had all those tracks released and uploaded to some blog.

I managed to get that, actually it’s not really 943 music files, about 50% of that are JPG pictures and covers which I didn’t really enjoy I changed a lot of MP3 tags as they were too long for my hard drive to hold. Even made a cover of it. I don’t think I added that extra bonus disc that came with it but without the bonus disc added, it was about 33 hours of Disneyland music.

California Adventure will have to wait until they bring out audio or soundtrack all their new rides including The Little Mermaid ride and maybe a better quality version of World of Color. I still think that it’s still too soon for there to be any kind of large collection of California Adventure music and sounds. I have a lot of stuff but I am sure there are those with TBs of stuff.

Finally, William, a quick question….

Do you by chance have access to any music from any Universal Studios attractions? Specifically E.T.? I would give a leg to gave access to the E.T. tracks!

Just some additional info:

The kiosks in the parks that used to sell ride music was called "Disney(land/ World) Forever". They no longer exist. You can find collections of these at mousebits.com as well.
As for Universal, the only recent official album that has been released is for the Islands of Adventure, which can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/user/dinoman96#p/c/CC888152710161E0
There are 2 versions of that album, one of which I believe has an additional track or two.

Pooh’s Hunny Hunt" (not ‘Bunny’) is available on one of the Tokyo Disneyland albums called "Tokyo Disneyland Music Album". I have it, but if someone can tell me how to easily upload it, I will. I’m not very computer literate.
I’ve never seen an official Ellen’s Universe of Energy track, but there is a low-quality recording of the show available on mousebits.

If anyone’s looking for park music, I suggest mousebits.com. They don’t post anything that’s commercially available though. You can ask here, and I’ll try to answer you.

That is a Disneyland collection, so you won’t find any Universe of Energy music there.
There have been a couple of WDW collection albums with a song or two from Universe of Energy. I think its the song called, "Universe of Energy", or another song called "Energy (You Make the World Go ‘Round)"

I’ve never seen (or should I say ‘heard’) all of the source quality audio of this. I don’t think its ever been released. There’s different types of UoE audio out there though. Check the tribute video on martinsvids.net. Maybe you’ll find it there?

Well, the theme of Soarin’ in EPCOT is more of a futuristic flight TO California, whereas in California the theme is more if a tribute to aviation.

may i ask: Which tracks on the Phantom Manor Master Collection were on the DAT Tapes you talked about in an earlier post? Since this is the specific soundtrack that made me love scores, i really tried to hunt down the phantom manor score for 18 years… A lot of stuff i found in your collection was floating around some years ago, but most of it doesn???t have the crystal clear sound from other orchestral score recordings from the nineties… i know these were bootlegs, but even on the official album disney released i think the recording quality from debney???s music is quite poor… So may i ask: What sound quality did your DAT tapes have?

Haunted Mansion 30th Anniversary Limited Edition GOLD CD [1999]

The Haunted Mansion – 30th Anniversary was the album released for the 30th Anniversary of The Haunted Mansion. The original 1999 CD was a 13-track limited edition of only 999 copies, all sold out within two hours at Disneyland’s special event for the Haunted Mansion’s 30th anniversary. It featured a green disc, a 5-page insert/artwork, and an extra 1-page insert featuring autographs of Buddy Baker and X. Atencio, the men who wrote Grim Grinning Ghosts.

The second edition, also from 1999, immediately followed but without the 13th track. It featured a gold disc, the same 5-page insert/artwork, but no 1-page extra insert with the autographs.

The third edition from 1999 featured a standard silver disc, also had the same 12 tracks as the second edition, had a simpler two page foldout insert/artwork (same second edition front picture with different wording; the back cover was slightly re-arranged), and no 1-page extra insert with the autograph.

A 2006 version (fourth edition) with 11 tracks was released without the Disneyland Paris track, but added a Disneyland 10th Anniversary cut. Walt Disney’s Welcome is missing. See the below track listing. It has a cover featuring the gate plaque on the brick columns outside of the Haunted Mansion.

William, you know I’m really not sure I hate to say. I’ve never been to Disneyland in Orlando or California, so I’ve never heard the track to know what it is that I’m missing. All I know is that I’m hoping some kind soul somewhere will be able to help me out with that elusive Track #13 Buddy Baker Experiments" ["Buddy Baker Experiments (Backwards Flute and Bones).

I have been looking for this cd for many years now and have had no luck finding it. I don’t give up easily. 999 people have the cd and hopefully one day I’ll find it.

Look around for a torrent called "The Forever Project". Someone put it together with music that was available at those "burn on demand" kiosks in the park. The Haunted Mansion CD is part of it, and… it is in FLAC. Pretty sure I got it somewhere, but not on my hard drive right now. You might be able to find The Forever Project thru Mousebits.

Yeah, I have this version of it. Its 1:59, and just called "Backwards Flute", and it is in FLAC. I thought it was a different version Snoopy was looking for. It appears that’s the version wildwood has as well, so maybe that’s it.

Exactly man. That’s what I mean, it’s the WDW verison. The Disneyland one is like impossible to find. The disneyland one you hear Rod Serling with some new lines like "The strangest journey of your lives. Your destination…unknown, but this much is clear, a reservation has been made in your name for an extended stay." and "Wave goodbye to the real world"

The Paradise Pier loop is the original one, which I believe I got already. Do you have the new one that is presently being used? I’ve heard snippets of it, but haven’t been able to find the whole thing. Definitely interested in the other tracks as well (TLM and SSS).

But, if you want to labor under the delusion that I am a spy (a much cooler job than my regular one!), who am I to destroy your illusions? Thanks for the post I have this set and just didn’t think to post the CD that comes with it.

It was released in 2003 as I recall I was collecting a lot of Disney around then Walt Disney Treasures Metal Tin sets and A Musical History Of Disneyland as well as The Haunted House releases.

I am not aware of any Universal Studios release of music in particular.
Obviously being a movie studio and with changing attractions over the years movie and TV music has been used, Jaws,Earthquake,Backdraft,Psycho,Ironside,E.T.King Kong,War Of The Worlds, Back To The Future etc.

aparrently, there is unreleased JP music in one of the US attractions.

To be honest, I dont really remember where I found it. It was a couple of years ago. I just remember the guy that I got it from said that it came from a cast member from the WDW Haunted Mansion! I dont think its the source audio though. Its probably an induction recording.

I already have the isolated attic piano and the old heartbeat. However I cant find the "I Do!" ghosts or the new heart beat in a isolated form anywhere. If anybody has those and would be willing to upload them, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, There is a track in the HM 40th anniversary collection that I never heard before. Its supposedly the "New" Portrait Hall Thunder. I dont remember the sound fx being different than the original last year when I went to WDW. Is that a real sound fx from the ride?

The Constance is the same recording used in the ride, but its not straight from the source track that used in the ride.

Anyways Im uploading some more stuff today like The Recording Sessions for Madame Leoata and Gaylord Carter. An original alternate version of Grim Grinning Ghost, and a Unused Sound FX for the Endless Hallway.

Personally, I’m glad that Disney "got" that David O’Neal. He stole my 4-CD set from 2005, The Haunted Mansion Unauthorized 36th Anniversary, stripped all credits to Grinning Ghost Productions, and then had the gall to SELL the collection as his own! Unfortunately, he got off with nothing but a warning not to sell any more Disney-owned material or face a $1M fine.

Dave also got ALOT of the rare stuff out there as well. I know you hate him for stealing your stuff, but if you saw how much of MY stuff was stolen by Hollywood types, BIG names, you would not sleep at night, believe me! But we got the HM recording sessions, and the VERY rare "Carousel of Progress" 3 CD set from Dave, no telling where he got them from, but they are a find!

Well, the artwork included in the downloads had "Extinct Attractions" right on the covers, so I presumed that to be the source of these particular collections.

I grabbed the hatchet sound from the "official" version. If I recall, I applied some noise reduction to get rid of the piano, and added some reverb to extend it a bit. Then I simply dubbed it over where you can faintly hear it in the Constance track.

The door to the Stretch Room sound came directly from the Story and Song Lp. The only sound I used that did not come from an official source is the sound of the rain outside the Portrait Hall windows. It was a generic sound effect from the internet. Fortunately, the sound of rain is generic enough that it would be difficult to notice a difference from the original source.

This is a very nice album to snag. There are a bunch of popular ride themes/soundtracks but what sets it apart are the few tracks from the special shows like "IllumiNations" and "Light Magic". Didn’t see this posted yet, and it’s definitely a treasure.

I’d ask someone in the mousebits forums. There’s some people there that will know the answer without having to listen to the video.

This may be a difficult question to answer, and there’s a TON of music, but would anyone be able to tell me which songs from the "Magical Music of Disneyland" collection are shared between Disneyland and Disney World? I would imagine most of them are shared, so maybe the easier question is, which songs DON’T play at Walt Disney World? I’m trying to make a comprehensive soundtrack to Disney World, since I’ve been there a number of times. Right now I’m listening to the Enchanted Tiki Garden Lanai music and wondering if the same pieces are used in Orlando.

I know the answers to this question might have to stay pretty general, but if anyone knows anything I’d appreciate it.

Do you have a link to that collection? Many of the rides that are at both attractions use the same music, but there are some exceptions. Sometimes they’ll be the same, then 1 park will change and the other wont.

Thanks to hack3rman for ripping the score from toy story mania – can anyone comfirm that the score from the wii-game really is the same as in the theme park attraction? Officially Jennifer Hammond arranged the music for the attraction queue, but composer Billy Martin states on his website that he wrote the music for the game (also he has the track "pie toss" in his online music player)…
IIRC, someone (maybe on mousebits) said that they are not the same, but similar.

I tried looking for the Composer for the Game, but I couldnt find it. So I just used Jennifer Hammond thinking she also did the game. Thanks for the info! I need to update my Custom Cover I guess…

The scene you refer to as the Endless Hallway I think was supposed to be the Stretching Room…either way it was stupid.

I believe some of the shooting games like the practice shot with Woody and Buzz are in the ride so figured that would be the music in the ride. The mini games in between each of the shooting games are not on the ride so the music on those mini games are something new. To be quite honest when I’m on the ride I don’t typically listen to the music I focus on shooting the targets. The character voice overs seem to be the same as the ride though if that helps any.

So has the rip of Kinect Disneyland Adventures still not been converted?

I thought I saw some thread that posted it but needed some sort of program to convert the files, and most of them were only 30 to 50 second clips. I tried to listen to them all but there happens to be so many files and only heard a few 2 minute songs, but it really didn’t at all sound anything like Disneyland when I saw videos of walk throughs particularly Tomorrowland I heard the actual area music played in that land but never at all seen them apart of that huge list of files. I already have that area music thanks to The Magical Music of Disneyland, but the one on that album is in mono but that’s probably the best I’m gonna get.

This is one attraction that not even stereo would do it true justice, if you ever had seen the show the bears are all over the place and a 5.1 mix would be the only thing that would work realistically.

There has been rumors for a few years that they may re-open the attraction at Disney California Adventure.

The rainbow label is from the late 1970s. By 1968, most record plants had discontinued the practice of issuing records in both monaural and stereophonic in favor of stereophonic recordings (when available). The Story and Song From The Haunted Mansion was the last attraction Lp to be issued in both formats.

This one, originally produced in 1972, is indeed monaural. Had there been a stereophonic edition, that would have been the only version available. Such is the case with The Hall of Presidents from the same year and was issued in stereo only.

I can’t remember if it’s been officially released I had seen a few Pirates albums released and it’s basically the same old ride through before the change with Jack Sparrow. I haven’t even seen anyone do any kind of quality recording of it, if they have then I haven’t seen it around the Internet.

Hope this settles it once and for all.
There is no doubt that it was released in both mono and stereo – the ST preface was used to indicate stereo – you had to play it with a finer stylus than the mono version so it needed to be indicated on the cover.

So, I don’t know, but if anyone can find the stereo version, please let me know where to find it!

As I mentioned previously, the record companies stopped issuing dual releases of albums in 1968 and 1969, including Disney*. CBJ was not issued in dual stereo and mono formats. Had it been issued in stereo, it would have been available ONLY in stereo as STER-3994 from the day it was first released until the end of record production.

*One exception is disc jockey 45 rpm singles. They were often issued with only one song: stereo version on one side, and mono version on the other side in the early to mid 70s.

The discography site you pointed out confirms at the top of the page the same thing I said:

"Webmaster’s Notes: With Disneyland Records, those indicated with ST before the catalog number usually indicate MONO recordings while those which start with STER before the catalog number indicate STEREO."

But wouldnt that result in added reverb?

Adding stereo reverb can also give a simulated stereo effect.

There is a plugin for Audacity, called MDA Stereo, when I use it, there is a slider for Wideness, and Delay, when there is no delay (but there is wideness), it sounds "airy" but when there is delay, it sounds somewhat metallic reverb.

Well, regardless of what – it can all be accomplished via software from a single monaural source with no need to make dual recordings. Generally, when I want to simulate stereo, I do it manually: I offset one track slightly, and add a touch of stereophonic reverb to make it more convincing.

My method works best for me, for the desired outcome I need it for.

I had used a "Chorus" unit to make faux stereo about 20 years ago, and it sounded pretty good, from a mono source, but it was hard to maintain. It took the highs and threw them on the right side, while the lows went to the left. But it still would wobble a little bit, back to the center. perhaps in the next 50-100 years, someone will come up with a way to rip the different sounds from a mono recording to make discreet stereo.

Also, a small note. Apparently there is someone here who is following the discussion, and pasting the comments here on another site! THIS IS NOT THE THING TO BE DOING!!! it could get you banned forever! He is casting some very negative thoughts towards "Grinning Ghost", and it appears that "GG" is completely correct with his information! There is NO stereo version of the Country Bear Jamboree, EVER! So, I hope that I won’t see any of our comments on that "Other" board, or HEADS WILL ROLL!

No, I’m sorry, but "Drocks" wanted the NEW POTC flow-thru, this version is the exact same copy of mine without any new additions! This is the OLD ride, no longer being shown anywhere, which makes this recording now part of the "Extinct Attractions" group, and now a very rare recording set, so grab them while you can!

What is this that you have posted it’s no what you represent in your description, it’s certainly not the Haunted Mansion 40th Anniversary Edition CD.

Yes I have listened/looked at it and it’s a fine collection of misc. tracks from different sources, it was just in your original post you stated its was the 40th Anniversary Edition, so I naturally thought that’s what this would be.

The 40th Anniversary Edition had a new ride through mix,various renditions of the organ music from earlier recordings etc.

By the way I have taken that first Disc and have cleaned up the track information etc. there are 45 tracks on Disc 1, how many tracks are on Disc #2?

Just got off the phone with my wife who is at DCA right now and they told her that they are completely sold out of this. Hopefully, someone will post it somewhere.

They were selling copies at Ramone’s House Of Body Art store.

That’s usually where they sell out first. Make sure to also try Radiator Springs Curios (usually the second to run out) Sarge’s Supply Hut, and Elias and Company. The latter two usually have plenty in stock.

You know, I really do not know! I knew that I had the one from the OTHER 40th anniversary 1 CD set that I had merged into my flowthru, but I wasn’t happy with it. The first version of Constance was one that I had taken from several live mike recordings that were on YOUTUBE, which were completely horrible. I really loved your version the best, and I thought that I had thanked your previously for sharing that with the group. I may have used your version on my flowthru, I really do not know. I do think that I did add it, as you had uploaded it, to the ISO tracks on disc two. I should have put a special "thank you" on the tray cover on disc two! 🙂

And as far as the NBC Paul Frees sound alike, you’re right. Its Corey Burton who did infact played the Ghost Host in the Haunted Mansion Holiday. He’s done A LOT of other Disney Voice Acting in the past.

The constance track has echos because in the game, the last part of the HM level in the Ballroom, you dont get past there. So they brought Constance in the ballroom floating around with the dancing ghost. Im guessing the echo is there to give a more believable effect that she is in the ballroom.

The only reason why doombuggies isnt willing to share their stuff is due to the fact that they have worked directly with Disney themselves. Im sure Disney is keeping a close eye on what they do, and im sure doombuggies is being careful not to give out anything for fear of being shut down. I have a feeling that if they never worked with Disney, they would offer audio downloads.

AND, Octavi, the reason that I used that picture of the front of the Haunted Mansion on my special 40th anniversary edition, is that photo is the ONLY photo of the outside of the mansion taken at night, on August 9, 1969! It was given to me by Greg Stone, the first person to step across the threshold of the mansion that morning, on the unofficial opening day! FYI: the "Official" opening for the press was actually on August 12, but they allowed the public to enter on August 9, 1969, and Greg was the first one to enter that morning! He is interviewed on the DVD "The story of the Haunted Mansion" part one, by extinct attractions (a company that is now extinct themselves, kind of ironic, huh?)
Anyway, even the great Dr. Dan Olson acknowledges Greg’s photo as the only night-time photo of the mansion taken on that day, so I guess that’s pretty special, and that is why I used that picture on the cover of my 40th anniversay set. Dr. Dan can be found at Micechat, and over at Doombuggies.

I do agree with you that Doombuggies is watched VERY closely by Disney, however, the lord and master of DB.com, Jeff Bahan is a real stingy person when it comes to anything Disney. He’s one of those that wants to be the ONLY person that owns something original, or one of very few. VERY elitist minded, ya know the type?
Kind of like old Neil Norman over at Crescendo records, huh? Where do these people come from? Of course, the thing about Jeff and Neal that I have noticed, is that they are both from well to do parents! Both from rich backgrounds, and most likely given everything they ever wanted as kids. Oh, HELL YES, I want the CBJ in stereo! There was a huge fight last year over at Micechat, one guy said that he had a stereo record from the park on CBJ, and another guy said that it was NEVER in stereo! The second guy won! Hehehehehe

If one of you great people out there would like to take a shot at recreating them, I would greatly appreciate it, as would others! 🙂

Will, the only TDR Haunted Mansion track I could find was the 24.3 MB that’s 17.42 long, titled "10 Tokyo Disneyland (R) The Haunted". I’m assuming you have that, but if not, lmk.

It was never released in stereo, I have seen all the LP releases over the years.

I’m not in the same state (else, I would have a copy in hand and, well, would be sharing) … however, had good friends of mine there yesterday and this morning, and the CDs are in stock. Even in Ramone’s this morning, and that’s the first place that is usually out of them.

Of course they get them in AFTER I’m there. Grrr……

Well they can’t be that good of friends if they didn’t pick you up a copy, but I suppose if you wanted a copy and asked them they would have picked it up for you huh and you could have paid them later.

JMOSS, sorry to inform you, but the CBJ is NOT in stereo! As Wildwood had said, it has never been
released in stereo! What you have here is the album, with MONO on side one, which was the show, and stereo on side 2, which
was just VA music that was NOT in the show, or the attraction, something that Disney threw on there to fill out the record, Sorry!

I would LOVE for you to make new covers for those discs, and if you could stay as close to the originals, that would be GREAT!

Oh, and BTW, the 4 disc tribute is NOT mine! they were created by a fellow on another site who uses the name "Grinning Ghost", and he has actually posted here before as well, think you may be able to find his posts if you do a seach for his username.

For the land background music, sounds like they expanded the song selection that was originally used for the temporary entrance corridor. Mora’s Modern Rhythmists, Palm Court Orchestra, Royal Society Jazz Orchestra selections.

Don’t have a complete track listing yet, but the temp entrance used many tracks from Mora’s "Devil’s Serenade" album. So, if looking for a one "feel of Buena Vista Street" album, that would be a good start.

Guessing that the shops may have their own dedicated loops, much like Main Street’s shops do (played very, very quietly). Elias and Company, just based on the appearance, better have some good "department store" sounding tracks.

after closer inspection, it is stereo in that it has a left and right Audio channel however, what it looks like in adobe Audition, is mono track in both
left and right channel. So yes, it is not true stereophonic sound. That sucks. Kinda like a 2D movie converted to 3D. Sorry to get your hopes up.

What I should be is more specific, 4 or 5 of the tracks are empty with no audio.

The Ichabod track is one track about 30 mins which cuts off prematurely.

Did you listen to this before you posted it?

I just thought people might want a heads up after all it is a 300MB file and might take awhile to download on some people’s rig’s in addition to many people have DL caps attached to their accounts with their ISP.

Sorry for being so curt, WildwoodPark. You just didn’t make it clear that the quality was the issue you had with it; I thought that you were saying that because you didn’t like it, that it wasn’t worthy of being posted here. I know the sound quality suffers, and that it is a huge file – I saved it as FLAC, rather than MP3, just because I dislike the generational loss that sometimes happens with MP3, and if anyone wanted to edit it further, that would be fine by me.

Some track info, as I was a bit vague before: What I did was isolate the rear channels of the 6 channel surround sound soundtrack, and boosted the levels to approx. -10db so that it was audible. IMHO, this is the best that we will ever get – Disney has had 60+ years to issue a soundtrack and haven’t, and even if they did, I have a feeling that they would leave the vocals patched in, something I dislike (I’m just a score person, myself). What this would be useful for (and already has been used for this over on Mousebits) is recreating the queue loop used in the Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride queue. There are the 3 or 4 tracks with no audio because I used them as reference points. I could have deleted them (as can you) because they are not necessary, but I just got lazy! 🙂 If you import them into the media player of your choice (I use MediaMonkey, but to each their own) they should show up as the full album, with track numbers, track titles, artist and album info. Only thing they are missing is cover art.

Again, sorry for being short earlier – it just angers me when people criticize a source without having learned more about it first, and in this case, this is the only place where you will find the "Merrily Song" sans vocals – it has never been released before without the words!

[edit:] I didn’t realize Ichabod cuts off early; my interest was the Mr. Toad segment, and I will eventually get around to chapter separating the Ichabod portion, so I didn’t listen to that at all. Sorry!

As an off topic, is there a post count you need before you can get/send PMs? I say this because I missed out on some of the files at the beginning which are dead now, and would like to take a listen to them… 😀

Its not that rare… Most of it is on the 36th HM Collection. Again from Gerry… Someone just made there own version based on Gerrys audio.

Exact Audio Copy. The average user can’t tell the difference between rips, but it is a near perfect rip, sound wise, from the CD. Lossless or FLAC, is considered the best rips except each file size for songs is huge

I almost want to say that it originated with the old Extinct Attractions Club CDs (based mostly off of formatting)… but that would mean that *someone* had to have gotten a copy with that narration. If, that is, the actual released CD included it… may have just been a "tease" that was never available, but helped boost sales. 😉

Well, I wasn’t meaning that the tracks themselves originated with EA. Just that that particular assembly of tracks, in that order, and the way things were formatted seem similar to others that EA did release… regardless of their original *source.*

Some of the things he did sell weren’t available in wide distribution prior to his albums, but a great deal of the things he sold were. Heck, even the graphics used on his DVD collections were just ripped off of the internet (without much research into what they really were… his CircleVision DVD, for example, has a few photos that were vacation photos… and had nothing to do with Disney or the CircleVision films at all.)

Also, where did you get the MP4 film from "America the beautiful"? is it the front screen only from "Youtube"?

As I said, just curious, not complaining at all. Currently working on putting the narration back into the music score, which is hard since you cannot see the film, and figure out where all the talking goes.

That version is from a single screen version that was released for schools and whatnot as an educational film. That’s why the narration is fairly dry, and covers more historical details… rather than the familiar "This too is America" dialogue that we’re all more familiar with.

Unfortunately, that’s pretty much the only version of the film I have as an actual movie.

BTW… There was a site (Theme Park Audio Archives) that had a version of America the Beautiful with narration in one channel, the music in the other. While the sound is garbled on the score… I’d imagine someone could take the clear narration and could edit that into the released score-only (from the 50th Anniversary set) and come up with a much sharper version. Only problem, though, would be that the released clean score is from the original version of America the Beautiful, so is missing a few portions that were added on the Bicentennial version.

Yes, that is where I got the original 1960s narration that we all know and love from. I took the narration and mixed it onto the stereo music tracks that I have (in WAV form), however the narration did not match up to the music. But first, I had to make the narration stereo, so I added a "spacial enviroment". But, the narration sounds like it came thru a mike, so I had to clean it up a bit with EQ. Then, I had to take section after section of the narration and try and match it to the music. So far, so good! I’ll add it here when completed! 🙂

the good news, I took the narration from "America the Beautiful" and had one of the techs at the studio run it thru his magical machine, and it REALLY sounds good (to me) but he told me that whoever had put it up on that Disney site had compressed it in such a way, that it caused ALOT of distortion on the sound. You can hear alot of noise, both before he speaks and after. This is caused by bad compression. I sent an email to the site owner, and asked him if he could PLEASE upload a copy that was not compressed at all, and I hope that perhaps he has a better copy for us to share! What I am thinking is that he has that exact SAME recording, which will be the pits! 🙁

We’ll see.

I had to trash the project I was working on, since this version sounded 80% better, so I’m starting over from zero!

Oh, and by the way, one member had PM’d me with a copy of the stereo music with mono narration that he had put together, which is great, however I really HATE mono anything. So, even though it sounds good, it has the un-revised narration in mono in the center, so I’m going to use his recording as a guide, so I’ll know exactly where to place all the narration! 🙂

Anyway, yes, I am working on reinstalling the stereoized narration back into the wonderful, full, rich, stereo music tracks that were wonderfully shared on that Wonderful site! 🙂

And, thanks to a certain member of this board for providing me with a very useful guide to help me out. I had to trash my first attempt, as I had realized I totally messed it up about 8 or so minutes into
the music!

Also, a small piece of bad news: There is a part of the narration that is missing. When you are overlooking Los Angeles, with all the little twinkle lights, the narration starts off, and then just cuts out, but the music (on the two track from that site) keeps on playing! I don’t know what happened to that recording, but I had to cancel that whole line, just to maintain the feeling of the whole project. Didn’t want any "drop outs" as it were! 🙂

Well this has been a long time coming. I tried to make Halloween with this post but whatever. Compiled from multiple sources posted here (thank you, Williamtaylor), Mousebits, and others are 3 massive Haunted Mansion compilations I am proud to share with the hardcore fans here.

I tried to be as thorough as possible and keep it logically sequenced while not duplicating specific tracks. That’s not to say there aren’t a couple dozen different versions and mixes of "Grim, Grinning Ghosts" in this set but I tried not to have such versions repeat anywhere else. The best sounding copies of the individual elements (and that didn’t always mean the highest bitrate) were chosen. Consistent ID3 tags and cover art added. Volume leveled with MP3Gain. I’d include tracklists here but I don’t know how.

Thanks for the re-ups! Just for future reference though, may I suggest mediafire for your file hosting? Its easy to use plus it has great download speeds (At least for me).

I considered it. But they limit you to 200MBs and don’t allow split archives for free users anymore upload or download.

Also, I know that a couple of you young people are new to this site, and new to sharing and uploading, so when you see a file-sharing site that opens a TON of windows, especially when they lead to sites like "Sexme.net" or something with naked women and men, chances are that is NOT a good site to store files onto!
There are a ton of new sites that have popped up every since the US government decided to take over "Megaupload" and tell everyone what they can and cannot do with their own personal files, so you should shop around and find some great sites to store and share with!
