Note: This is a rip from my own personal CD. It features music from HGL’s Blood Feast and 2000 Maniacs mostly but features bonus music from HGL’s other films. There are some sound bytes in some of the tracks.

They are indeed something special. It’s beyond corny to watch them now but it’s interesting in that Blood Feast became a major trend-setter in the horror/gore genres through the last 40+ years. I admit 2000 Maniacs puts me to sleep. Terrible acting, lots of (somewhat interesting) exposition, less gore, terrible audio BUT I did like the ending. That was a nice touch for an otherwise crappy film. Color Me Blood Red was better but sickening to me. The Wizard of Gore was also too much to handle for me. The film was all over the place and what the hell is up with that ending? Blood Feast 2 though is my favorite of all his films. It’s almost non-stop laughs. Herschell Gordon Lewis is one twisted old man but that’s why we admire him so much. He wasn’t afraid to push the envelope and were he to make another film today, I can only imagine how sick it’d be.
Best I’ve got right now I’m afraid. 🙁 just as good though 🙂
