I didn’t think I be doing this

but I’m doing a replay of VIII…just felt like sharing. Might post progress from time to time…

Good man, good man! Maybe I’ll do the same one of these days (I kind of put FFVI and FFXII down for now), because I miss me some good ol’ FFVIII.

I haven’t gotten it from there yet, but I might. Considering the problem with playing PSX games on a PS2, using component cables on a hdtv.

I really really hate having to keep my old sdtv around.

That’s how I’ve got it right now; I just fire up my good ol’ Ps2 with all my old Playstation games and I’m good to go! Still, when I have a PSP again, it’ll be sure nice to have ’em on the go. And I can’t wait for FFIX to come out for PSN, and Xenogears, since I’ve never played that one and would like to see what it’s all about 😀 and LOL @ Kefka 😉

edit: Don’t worry Hawkeye, think of them as just fancier ways to do what you’re already able to 😉

this is random but it might help u whilst playing FFVIII..
…play the game the normal way u would until u get to the part were u go into space….after u get ragnarok go get odin….after u hav odin go to "the closest islan
d to hell" on this island everything is level 100.
..so keep running into battles until odin spawns and kills them..
..if he dosnt spawn just flee..
..wen he does spawn (which is like 1/10 chance) he will kill all the enemys.
..keep this up till u can accuallly kill the level 100 creatures ur self..
.i give this technique like 1-1:30hrs to get to lvl 100 on all ur charecters..
..fastest way to beat the game with ease.

I kind of did that on my first run. Until I learned that enemies level up with you…

I kept a PSX for replaying old games, it seems to run them much better than the PS2. Especially FF8 which always seemed to freeze at the same FMV for me. 🙁

Keep us posted on your update! I’m interested what you think of the game, story etc now too when you replay it, on another site I know some people’s opinions of the game changed a lot when they replayed recently compared to when they first played it. FF8 has always been my favourite but been years since I gave it a go <3

I played FFVIII this summer while I was recovering from surgery so it’s still kinda fresh. I think I’ll wait a few more months before replaying it again. The one thing I will NOT be doing however, no matter how many times I replay it, is playing card games. Ewww.

My PS2 has never had problems running PSX games. Ever. What you guys are saying is kinda new to me :p

Yeah I spent about 8 hours on Sunday just playing…I got to Galbadia Garden when I realized I was going numb and just getting annoyed with it…

Yeah i replayed it too early last year. Because i got the game when i was quite young i never really got the hang off it/understood it/appreciated it for what it was. Therefore, i never completed it and only got as far as the Lunatic Pandora with great difficulty as i didn’t understand the junctioning system or anything. I must have been like 10 or 11 at the time, i’m almost 19 now.
Anyway, replaying it was brilliant. I love this game so so much. And i managed to complete it as well without being level 100 and all that. Brilliant times.

I’ve been considering buying it from PSN for my PSP lately but I am having a hard time convincing myself to do it. I liked the game but the last time I beat it was when I was in the 8th grade… in 1999. I did enjoy it enough to explore the rest of the series and I’ve loved pretty much every Final Fantasy game to date with the exception of FFXII and maybe X-2.

Got bored with disc 3, so I went back to an old file to tie up loose ends…got Doomtrain and managed to pwn Ultima Weapon in one go without Lionheart…I feel accomplished, which is hard to feel with this game…
