Glad to see you decided to make your own thread. You might wanna upload some of GoronMoron’s rips. Other than that, how’s about a good Mario Kart DS Rip? The ones that I’ve found, all have the Background vrrrrm! of the motor.

Well, this is really eXtremestrike’s original DS music thread; I’m just taking over in a way 🙂

I’ll have GoronMoron’s rip in the second post as soon as I’m done cleaning up the first one; I’ll go through the list and see which ones are still up, and I’ll do my best to reupload the ones missing.

Regarding Mario Kart, I know there’s one out there without the vrrrrm!, I’ll snoop around and see if I can find it 🙂

If I may I would like to request a rip of Tales of Hearts and/or Suikoden Tierkreis. I managed to extract the soundfile (.sdat) from ToH, but I don’t know what to do with it; the DOS programs aren’t working for me… 🙁

I couldn’t find either, Maxwill, and I’m not familiar with .sdat files; I’ll snoop around more and see what I can find. I’ll also look for a rip of Luminous Arc.

Does anyone have a Daigasso Band Brothers DX music rip? The game has some great classic music remixes.

Despite the extreme crappiness of the game itself, the OST to ‘Red Bull BC One’ (US and EU releases only) is actually quite impressive. It’s something to look into if a soundfile ripper’s looking for something different. ;D

Just my two cents; I love Clubhouse Games, it’s my favorite DS game, simply because of the great times I’ve had with it playing all sorts of games with a bunch of DS-loving friends. It’s a blast; if every DS owner had Clubhouse Games, the world would be a better place, seriously 🙂

The first post is up to date; all it needs is to be sorted alphabetically. GoronMoron’s dead links were removed; I’ll look for rips of those games and put them up eventually.

I did, however, upload a rip of Apollo Justice, all named and everything 🙂 That one goes to The_Potato_Master.

sergioalb64: Not to be rude, after all you have done a tremendous job here and Im grateful for it, but have you considered another source to upload the latest soundtracks to, which doesn’t require us to wait?

I know you used mediafire quite often, and they are as good as megaupload, or even better, but I noticed in your latest uploads that you went for filefactory, and to me it’s sort of better using mediafire or another webpage which isn’t that strict on downloading for non-registred user..

Well I can say for sure that there at least one missing. It the ending credit one. I don’t feel like playing it again too see if there anymore. I can only tell the ending is missing because that where both of my saves are at(both Martel’s & Emile’s stories). Basically the ending is song 18(I think) but with lyrics.

The place you got the rips from have graphic ones too? Just wondering if they have any EO/II ones.

Agreed! Club House Games is so amazing that my three buddies and I always play it in my math class. We have a really laid-back teacher who doesn’t care if what we do as long as we do the homework/get good grades on the quizzes (which we all do), so our time is always spent playing a little Bowling, Darts, Spit, Shake the Bottle, Memory Match, Dots and Boxes, a few other gems; and especially the built in PictoChat 😛

Thanks man! 🙂 As for rips, well according to some searching about on this forum, someone did up NMDS music before but the link was dead before I could grab it. FileFactory can be pretty lame at times…. Pac-Man VS has one of the best title tunes I’ve heard on the DS, speaking of which!

BTW, I was wondering if it was possible to rip the music from Space Invaders Extreme at all? I’m aware an official soundtrack exists, but it doesn’t quite have ALL the tunes from the game itself, such as the little "Round Start" jingles. Of course, I do wonder whether SIE uses any kind of different/unique format for music that may make it harder to rip. I mean I couldn’t find any typical media files in the PSP version’s filesystem, which fills me with some worry.

I know it’s a really crappy game with crappy music, but I’ve been looking for the music from Burnout Legends on DS for AGES and have come up with zilch, so this thread is the best chance I have. The DS version of Legends came with it’s own unique music, as opposed to the licensed music from the PSP version, so yeah, it’d be very nice to have them. Thanks!

It’s a mix of a rip from the DS game, from the official japanese DS OST (which has not all of the songs) and the Playstation version official english OST (from which i took the english version of the songs). I tried to put every songs from Rhapsody’s both versions and to make it in one soundtrack with proper song names (took from the english DS version). So here it is:

I finally found the full quality rip of Clubhouse Games; I fixed the link on the first post; it’s now two links 🙂

It’s great; it even has the chess theme in its perfect form 🙂 This is my favorite DS game of all time; I can’t recommend it enough. Great controls, single and multiplayer fun, tons of games to play, online play; it’s perfect, every DS owner should have it.

BTW, some neat DS rips are coming. Here’s a hint at one; it’s…magnetic 🙂

I haven’t seen a GBA music thread; it would be nice to have one, that’s for sure. I know there are sites with tons of GBA rips, such as this one:

You can get Winamp plug-ins to play the GSF files. I couldn’t put together a GBA music thread; I’ve got my hands more than full with DS music 🙂

Speaking of which…it’s done; the first post is made of win, absolutely perfect (unless you notice a dead / broken link or something, please let me know). All that’s left is for me to go through this thread and the old DS music thread and post all the requests that haven’t been fulfilled in a list, and then we’re all done.

I’ve also got some neat rip updates coming, so hang tight, and continue to make requests; I know, Retro Game Challenge, Picross DS, GTA:CW; I’m looking for those! 🙂

I noticed that there’s a song missing from the Izuna 2 soundtrack. It’s missing the regular ‘boss’ theme. It sounds a lot like 32, but instead of an infinitely looping 15 seconds, it has a 30-45 second loop. Any chance that can get included in the album or otherwise, it’s the ONLY song I wanted out of the entire album. XD

Sorry, lordalden; I got everything I could from the source files. Unless that song is in the first Izuna game, which I’ll be uploading eventually. I searched for other Izuna 2 rips but couldn’t find any; I’ll make a note of the missing song.

Hey uhhh… I don’t know what’s up with some of the soundtracks. The first time I listened to Blue Dragon Plus and Bomberman DS, they were fine. The next day I go to listen and iTunes just skipped them. The files weren’t moved, the little "!" didn’t appear. It just totally skipped them. Uhhh.. i don’t know what’s up. >.<

There’s a program called VGMTrans that can sometimes get the music from DS ROMs. I say sometimes because I tried using it a while back, before I upgraded to Vista, and couldn’t use it too well. I know it works, though; GoronMoron did most of his DS rips using it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on Vista, at all, so I can’t do anything with it 🙁

This is an excellent collection of games, but I think Animal Crossing Wild World should be ripped from the data without sound effects for it to really qualify as an acceptable rip. Sound effects are bad.

sergioalb64, I found out through a Japanese site called "Falcom Daisuki!" that two tracks are missing from your Legacy of Ys: Books I & II rip, one of which is very famous among Ys fans.

NP. I’ve been working on a few rips of my own…namely a complete game rip of Diamond & Pearl, which I have also added to Wulava’s tracks to hopefully produce a full-game rip of Platinum.

I also ran through the full 2SF rip of Ys 1 and 2….no sign of either song missing. I can only conclude that they are possibly embedded in the opening movies. Therefore…I need to play the game myself.

Hello. I would like to request Rhythm Paradise.
It’s the European version of Rhythm Heaven and has besides the English songs also versions in German and French I really would like to have. Would be cool if someone who is able to rip this game could rip and upload. I already saw there are ROMs of it.^^

They’re playable with vgmstream (http://www.hcs64.com/vgmstream.html). Although, right now there’s clicking and popping sounds when they’re played back, so you have to wait to a future version of either the files or the player.

They are. They’re the same versions used in Ys I & II Complete. Not remixes.

Well, I used crappy MS Sound Recorder to do them so they came out as .wma files at 96kbit. I don’t think it would make much of a difference if I made them 192kbit.

Either way for now, I’m going to take a break from recording. I am in the middle of finals at the moment.

As of now, the sound quality for the current best DS emulator is atrocious. (Note: Playing RH is on an emulator is terrible due to the controls.) I’ll have to wait until I get my Acekard to see if other region specific games can even work. Does anyone have the latest vio2sf plug-in for Foobar2000? (v0.19)? The links I can find keep getting blocked by my anti-virus software. vio2sf is a plug-in to rip DS music in Foobar2000, which is what I use for most of the rips on this thread.

Any luck on a rip for World Destruction, aka Sands of Destruction? I loved the music in that game, it was easily one of the best aspects of it. <3 Shame there’s no official release for the soundtrack…

Same here! The music is beautiful, if you ask me. Explorers of the Sky has a LOT of new music, so I’d be REALLY happy if the whole soundtrack could be ripped ASAP, please! 🙂 (Two or three loops, if possible.)

UPDATES

Good news, bad news, a good mix of both. First the bad; I’ll be away from my computer for two weeks, so I won’t be able to take care of this thread (well, more like, I won’t be able to try and take care of this thread :)) The good news; I left you guys with a few ‘quickies’. These are on top of the first post, and they are simply links to DS game rips. They still don’t have boxart, number of tracks, and the name of the developer, but the music is there. I wanted to leave you guys a decent amount of new rips to enjoy in my absence; I know they don’t look too attractive, but the music is there and it’s good 🙂 I assure you, those ‘quickies’ will eventually make it to the full list in all their glory.

With that said, I think it would be better for this thread if I keep adding to the ‘quickies’. I can actually add new rips in a more timely manner, and then fully add them to the list in a long, boring day 🙂 That way we get more DS music, sooner, and who wouldn’t want that? 🙂 What do you guys think? Good idea? Bad idea? Suggestions? Comments?

Something else, something…bad. The website I use to get DS rips from doesn’t update anymore; I’m afraid we won’t get any new rips for new DS releases. However, I have somewhat of a solution to this problem. I’m willing to add some sort of a ‘References’ list to the thread, with links to other forum threads that have DS music from newer, more requested games; that way this thread can point out people to find more DS music without taking credit from the people that do the rips. Sound good?

I updated the Wanted List with every request so far. Keep sending them in. I’ll be back in two weeks to keep the DS music coming; everyone have a great end of year!

The "OST" tracks are different than those that are actually used in the game. It’s important that this one be a gamerip.

Quite interesting game with nice music prduced by some of Namco’s old staff.

I try to use vgmtoolbox to rip music but couldn’t find sdat file, instead there are lots of .bgm and .sad files may be coded by different approach.

I’m not sure if someone has noticed this game and could think of a way to rip its music.

Can you add Retro Game Challenge? I can’t find it anywhere and my computer just got transferred, so all my old rips are lost.

If so, can you repost it?

I checked the actual OST, and it appears that the 2sf rip has some tracks mixed up.

The 2sf rip available here (http://hcs64.com/2sf/) appears to be missing track 257 (Route 225 Night).
But actually, the track that’s labeled 255 (Fight Area Night) is the real 257.
So, the track that’s really missing in the rip is 255, Fight Area Night.

I noticed that all the DS NFS rips are missing, so here are three of four I quickly ripped yesterday. Maybe someone can help me with Underground 2? It has several "instrumentsinfo" dat files and the songs are saved in *.gbm, which is a DS midi format. The sound_data.sdat contains some other wave baks. Any idea how to play the music?

This is my personal rip of the cover versions of the songs from the High School Musical 2 movie as used in this game. A few notes:

1.)The song "Fabulous" has been modified for this game to remove all brand references heard in the version of the song heard in the actual movie. So, for example, when Sharpay calls for her "pink Prada tote" in the second verse, the lyric has been changed to read "teal chemomile tote."

2.)The songs "Everyday" and "All for One," unlike the other songs in the game, ARE the actual versions used in the original HSM2 movie. (Because of this, the film Troy and Gabriella [Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, respectively] are credited in the tags on "Everyday" instead of the game Troy and Gabriella [Gerald White and Candice Burroughs, respectively].)

3.) This game only covers the songs used in the televised version of HSM2, so the song "Humuhumunukunukuapua’a" (cut from the televised version of HSM2 but restored for the DVD and Blu-Ray releases) is not included.

4.)I no longer own this game, so I cannot answer any requests for a higher-quality re-encode. (However, if anyone has this game or the PS2 game "High School Musical: Sing It! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_School_Musical:_Sing_It!)," they are welcome to re-encode and re-post in my stead.)

I picked up Phoenix Wright 1-3 & Apollo Justice, Chrono Trigger DS, Mario & Luigi 2/3, New Super Mario Bros., and the No-SFX Mario Kart DS soundtrack, so I’ll be busy with these for quite some time. i’d like to request disgaea ds plz.I looked at a rom dump and was not able to dump the bgm. Its in a DAT format, SDAT was the one I was looking for, my pc is not that fast for DS emulation to record the music via emu so hopefully some one else can help you with that…

The rip of Super Robot Taisen K has two issues:

– "NTR-YSDJ-JPN-003d.mp3" has 0 bytes, so it doesn’t sound at all.

– "NTR-YSDJ-JPN-0034.mp3" has a bad CRC and because of that it can be neither decompressed nor heard.

Could they be fixed? I really like this ost.

Besides this, I woul like to throw in 3 petitions, or if anyone knows where I can get them it would be appreciated.

A quirky DS-game with some great tracks! 😀
Found it in a bargain bin, played it and liked it. Since I couldn’t find the music anywhere, I ripped it myself.

The naming/numbering may not be perfect, as I found some tracks exclusively in the data file itself but not in the actual game, even though I’ve beaten it thoroughly. If anyone has anything to contribute on this I’d be grateful!

Some tracks don’t have a name because i had to stop playing and never continued.
