so what are everyones feelings about it?
think it’ll be good?
it seems that it might be alright, perhaps better then the last one that was made.
But seriously, that story is whack, yo.
But seriously, that story is whack, yo.
isn’t that the story that happens in dragonball??
this movie will more than likely be crap, but like swami sai, i’ll watch to see how they did the fight scenes and characters
Yun-Fat Chow as Roshi is about the greatest thing ever.
Absolutely not. The story has been changed pretty fairly.
I’d point out everything, but I doubt anyone gives two shits.
there’s pictures floating around on the internet advertising the movie.
their more just japanese advertising though. i think there a US official site.
there’s japanese ads for it on japanese sites.
Why, you ask?
Chow Yun-Fat as Roshi. Such a thing cannot be missed.
I’d love to see that.
I’m not for the story either, cuz I know they’ll mess it up, I just wanna see the fights and dialogue and stuff. If they can’t match a few youtube vids in terms of special effects, I’ll riot.
I love Arnold Schwarzenegger, but watching him play Mr. Freeze didn’t make Batman and Robin any more watchable. Chow Yun fat as Master Roshi is very tempting indeed, but I think I’ll be sitting out on this one.
Starred and Directed Shaolin Soccer, and Kung Fu Hustle.
For those who didn’t know.
What are your thoughts?
Is this good or bad?
Imo, his movies are alright.
Shaolin Soccer was kidna bad though.
Although…aside from Chow-Yun Fat, that is the only aspect that makes me have any hope for it.
in a very technical way, making all the actors asian and goku western, kind of fits, doesnt it?
Any good director might have thought of this. Maybe she’s not asian in the movie because she’s supposed to be a genius, and therefore special. I dunno. See the above quote for why I’m not going to think about this any further.
if someone needs to be special is the alien goku…
and the god damn piccollo! but he is already covered.
also, any self-respected director (including, sadly, boll) wouldnt take this project.
or take it and make it CGI, the way it should have been.
hell, even if boll does make a cgi i would gladly watch it over this for the mere fact its not live action
the poster bothers me, i don’t know why. but i guess with sound the trailer with seem cooler, i guess. i can’t really tell who the characters are.
Not that it matters, of course. I’m only interested in the potential awesomeness of Chow as Roshi.
I exactly what I was going to say.
FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
Oh come on Kastere, it doesnt look like garbage …it IS garbage! XD Anyway the worst is that many of us will go to see that junk just out of curiosity. I know I will T_T

it looks… i wanna say decent, but i don’t know.
i guess from the history of anime to US movies, it looks alright. not good but alright.
it doesn’t seem to have that comedic feel that the DB series had.
but from what i’ve heard the trailers are usually just parts that make a person go "cool, that looks awesome" or something like that.
when they make a movie based on a series, i like to think they thought of the time restrains and felt that certain elements had to be cut out or else the movie will go on for more then 2hrs or not have a definite ending that sequels will HAVE to be made in order to finish the story of the first movie.
live action tekken better be at least bearable. and nina better be as awesome and baddass and great as she is in the games and BETTER be given a prominent role. i am most looking forward to seeing xiaoyu, since it’s played by the same actress as the one who played gogo yubari in kill bill (i loved her in KB and she was awesome, so i think she’ll make xiaoyu awesome)
WHO THE FUCK IS MAI?!
Edit: Found out who it is. Why the hell they would put such a minor character in the movie is beyond me…

Swami, I really think they should have made Pilaf the antagonist for the first movie, with Mai and Shu.

i saw this one video of this kid giving 5 reasons why he thinks the movie will suck, but then at the end he goes: "go see it or die"
i find it pretty funny.

MAN YO MOMMA FOUND MY CUCUMBER TO BE PRETTY FUNNY; TOO FUNNY FOR WORDS COS IT WAS SO BIG SHE COULDN’T SPEAK!
Yeah, I said it. One of my favorite shows.
those green vegetables can be pretty big, that’s why you cut them up into smaller pieces.
http://www.thedragonballmovies.com/2008/11/oozaru-photo-not-final/
Good news. FOX has informed me that the previous photo of Goku’s Oozaru form was only a temporary test. They went on saying it wasn’t official and is NOT the final look for him. When the end of the year hits, we will probably see the true form along with several other promo pictures, so look forward to that. And we should all remember that when leaked pictures hit the internet, we shouldn’t take them seriously since they can be quite misleading.
As for the trailer, it will officially be released on December 12, to premier alongside The Day The Earth Stood Still.
As for the movie itself, I dont like the idea anymore than the rest of you (Truth be told, Id hate it even more if they tried to make it more like the anime. Some things just dont fly in live-action), but I plan to enjoy this film for what it is: A new take on the Dragon Ball story.
And for the record, in the event that whats been leaked turns out to be the official trailer, then I for one praise it for doing what a teaser trailer should do: Avoid giving away too much of the movie.
My God, the horror…
but… for anyone who hadn’t seen the trailer yet…

this one looks a bit more promising
in japan it’s coming out in March 13th, since it’s a japanese trailer… perhaps that would be soon.
for U.S. its coming out on April 8th.
according to imdb.
i read somewhere that there’s not going to be a oozaru(?)/ giant ape goku, instead there will be another form or something like that… (i’m not sure on that detail).
i wonder what fans of the series in japan are saying about the movie?
their usual moonspeak rants about how hollywood fucks with their stuff
is it as bad as we all thought/think (asking anyone who saw it)?
