Back on topic! I’ve got a program on my Laptop that I’ve used successfully to Transform Midi files into MP3s. I can check what it is called and where I got it for you if you want. I do know of the top of my head that I had to buy it, though. So, anyways, I could convert some for you if you want me to. Just upload what you want Converted here and I’ll get to it. Let me know.

This may be a weird question, but is it possible to do the opposite mp3 to midi? Is that somehow possible?

I’ve seen a program a looong time ago that i’ve long forgot.. it turned mp3’s into midis but it was only off of one instrument… and that was the crap midi piano. There’s no way it could seperate different instrument voices,.. if it could, that’d be amazing 😀

If only it was that simple. You actually have to do a lot of work to produce a MIDI file. I’ve tried it before and got sick of it after creating ten seconds of music. If it’s video game music you want into a MIDI then check out vgmusic.com They have everything and in different versions so you can pick the best.

Yeah, I tried this too with a program called Reason, but there you have to make all the instruments by yourself with this software, and it is hard to let it sound like the original. I thought someone knows a program that can do this automatically 🙂 Looks like thats never going to happen. You sweat for it or let it go.
Anyway thanks for the link, but i knew that site already 🙁

The best way to "convert" midis to mp3s is to just play them on your PC and use recording software (like Audacity) to record whatever you have playing (so make sure there isn’t anything else on your PC making sounds, like instant messengers and such) and save them as mp3s. There is software out there that actually builds the mp3 from the info in the midi file, but those never seem to turn out quite right for me…

Well, if it helps, iTunes converts Midi effortlessly, and it doesn’t cost ANYTHING to install the program. It’s also useful for many other thing, but I won’t go into too much detail at the moment. If you’re interested, go ahead and try it for youreslf.

I think you can convert Midi to Mp3 with "Blaze Media Pro".

And as for Mp3 to Midi there is also an other programm but it is as MikhailG said, convert all notes but they all sound in only 1 instrument. Haven’t found any program that is doing that automatically till now.

When I actually did it, I used Winamp. I believe it was the Disk Writer plugin that comes standard with the player when you get it.

There’s a website called hamienet.com and they have a free online midi to mp3 converter. The thing about their converter is that it uses soundfonts to convert your midis.
