I thought I wanted to see my top 25 game songs. So, I wondered around my games mp3 folder and picked up the tracks I like. I ended up with over 430 tracks!!!.. I filtered those again and again the results were exceeding 100. So, I thought, I will pick only 8 among those. Why 8? I don’t know. And thought I will share them with you.. I do hope that you will like them. I believe that each of the track tells a story of its own, hence the naming.

Story #8
Game: Mafia
Track: Sarah’s theme
Short, sweet, pure and honest to god piece that will melt your inner thoughts. Played once inside the game to leave you in utter harmony.

Story #7
Game: Final Fantasy 7 – Dirge of Cerberus
Track: Trespasser
Dark, but filled to the maximum with energy. I usually hate pieces that use the synthesizer. While I was playing the game, I suddenly had the feeling that I wanted to go inside the game, take one of the soldiers’ heart and eat it alive. This track was the reason. Successive ups and downs which were swift with drums introduction.

Story #6
Game: Rome total war
Track: Forever (ending Credits)
The sudden declaration of war drums followed by a siren’s voice whispering the words of bravery. The track builds up the rhythm to introduce the battlefield itself into the track and you can almost feel the troops surrounding you.

Story #5
Game:Suikoden III
Track: Existing Love
Its the time of chinese flutes. Those who played this game knows that the tracks plays every time the game starts, and I am sure that a lot of them listened to it every time it played. Full of energy at the beginning to capture attention, then once the flutes start, the story begins to unfold.

Story #4
Game: FFX2
Track: kuon-hikari to nami no kioku
This story is told by a piano. Serene, pure and untouched. The song slightly builds up near the end of the track, but keeps the overall tone of being gentle.

Story #3
Game: Max Payne 2
Track:Late Goodbye
What words can describe Poets of the fall in this song?,,.. It remains a wonder how can few guitar tones make such a great beginning. Then, remarkable vocals and lyrics are blended together as the song advances. And as you listen, you notice that the blood inside your veins is turning to blue.. hehe, at least, that what I felt.

Story #2
Game: Odin sphere
Track: Odin’s sphere theme performed by Eminence
This is the track that introduced me to one of the greatest orchestras in the world. I only played 5 minutes of the game, and I think this track is one of the main reasons of the game’s success. Beginning with a sad introduction and charging its way through until it reaches a powerful ending.

Story #1
Game: shadow of the colossus
Track: Swift Horse
A symphonic tale of heroism.. It begins with a great opening that will make the blood inside your veins chill. I can’t recall when this track was played inside the game, nevertheless, it surely does fit the atmosphere. The whole album of the game is great with each track speaking its own story.

Again, I hope you will enjoy them

Well, I agree with you that Swift Horse is a great song, one of my favorites of all time. But I have to point out that there’s already a thread like this:
