ShmupFighter – Who composed the songs for this game?

Well, according to the information here: http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.factory-noise-ag.com/disc_05AA.html , there were a team of composers.

Hyakutaro Tsukumo
Toshiharu Yamanishi
Naoto Ishikawa
Namihei
StudioA’
Harumi Shiina

Well, today I learned that "Hyper Duel" and "Thunder Force VI" are actually the same game.

To answer Traumend’s question about the composer, it was Hyakutaro Tsukumo who composed all the songs from both versions. Naoto Ishikawa, Harumi Shiina, A’, and Toshiharu Yamanishi did select arrangements for the ABSOLUTE AREA ~ project Thunderforce VI~ album, but they didn’t compose any of the songs.

Oh thank you!

I don’t remember having a Thunder Force VI game though, so Hyper Duel is considered to be the "Thunder Force VI"? Why the name change?

Well, today I learned that "Hyper Duel" and "Thunder Force VI" are actually the same game.

They are not the same game. They’re both just under the same soundtrack title (BROKEN THUNDER), due to Noise Factory AG releasing this around the same time as the Broken Thunder (aka Thunder Force VI) soundtrack. Why? I have no clue. Maybe they were planning on releasing them both in a package or something.

Hyper Duel – Arcade and Saturn
Broken Thunder (aka TFVI) – PC

Ah, I see. That’s pretty complicated.

While we’re at it, perhaps you can clear something else up for me. Hyakutaro Tsukumo is credited for ABSOLUTE AREA ~ Thunderforce VI, Lost Technology, and a bunch of Technosoft Game Music Collection albums, but Hyakutaro Tukumo is credited with BROKEN THUNDER ~ Thunderforce VI, as well as some other game albums.

Are Tsukumo and Tukumo two different people with coincidently similar names, or is it just a typo? I tried finding the answer myself with no luck.

lol I couldn’t tell you man. I don’t have THAT much knowledge on the subject. But, it might be possible that they are the same person. Typos are very common amongst Japanese>English translations, especially with music CDs and video games soundtracks.

Too bad the actual Thunder Force VI never got out.

@Simon: You should try it. So far, it’s the easiest and fastest uploader I’ve used.

@Traumend: It’s out for PC. But hopefully it’s just a demo, because it looks like straight crap; and I’m a huge fan of the TF series. There are some vids of the gameplay over at Youtube.com. Go check ’em out.

On the PC huh, I’ll check it out.

The gameplay is similar to Thunder Force right?

Hmm… I can’t find the demo.

I read the impressions, they say it’s a poor attempt on a Thunder Force game.
