Does anyone know where I can find some really high quality video game music? Links to a site, anything? If theres a place where I can get some lossless audio OSTs or even high quality MP3s I would greatly appreciate it.
To throw in my two cents, heres a place where you can get high quality MP3s from Final Fantasy X-2 OST (http://files.filefront.com/Final+Fantasy+X+2+OST+Cd1+e+Cd2/;3853540;/fileinfo.html)
You might need WinRar to extract the files.
Please help out an audiophile. Thanks all.
I just stumbled across this webpage yesterday and it has 100 game scores. In my pinion the quality is very good. (the site states the stats of each score) Game Music Hall (gamemusichall.net) I’ve been going hog wild there and I hope it’s what you’re after.

P.S.
By the way, I only found one of their links to downloading a score to be invalid, but it was an external site.

Dont ask.
You might want to also check out this forum’s sister site, Galbadia Hotel (http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks.php). It has the most beautiful collection I have ever seen (I just found it).

If the poster didn’t state the quality of audio. I’m sure they’ll tell you if you ask nicely.
Were you not satisfied with the quality of the music uploaded or just didn’t notice the fact that we have a section dedicated to downloads..?
So if someone were to upload an OST using some sort of lossless codec like wmal (Windows media audio lossless) or flac (Free lossless audio codec) then I will most likely be the first one to jump on it.
Sorry for all the technical lingo, I guess I’v been on VideoLAN forums too long.

I tried to download from this site, but nothing happens. The external links work great but when I tried to download the tracks from the site, it saves as .html document rather than mp3.
Could you please advise me on this? If you have succeeded in downloading could you possibly be able to download the Choral Compilation Vol.1. I am nuts after chorals!
That’s since it’s a hyperlink, click on it to get to the mp3.
I did it, the only happens is that it shows its downloading in the status bar and then BOOM! A blank page appears. I dont understand what is the problem. Any other site you have come across, where I can get those choral themes.
Thanks a ton! This is finally working, thanks once again!
Game Music Hall is awesome!
Yes it is!

You people are really wonderful!
To my knowledge there is no high quality VGM for you audiophiles. All VGM is 2 channel, 44100/16 PCM which is as standard (low quality) as you can get!
High quality would be DVD Audio/SACD at 92000/32 5 channel etc.
As for FLAC being so much better than a 320k MP3, both are still 44100/16 (low quality) to start with…at that quality there isn’t much of a difference unless the lossy compression codec is poor and most use lame.

"you audiophiles"? I sure hope you meant "your audio files".

I understand this is "to your knowledge", but next time you post just for your "two cents", I suggest you google your assumptions (http://www.google.com/search?q=FLAC+vs+320k+mp3&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a) and check Bylie’s post (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t28829.html)

Plus high quality DVD audio is usually 96000Hz/24bit for 6 channel surround sound or 192000Hz/24bit for 2 channel stereo sound. Whatever the case, MP3 quality will suffice but it’s still not as good as lossless audio. The only problem with lossless is that it takes a longer time to encode and rip the audio at standard 44100hz/16bit and the compression isn’t as good, therefore, larger file sizes, but it’s worth it to me.
As for the comment: "you audiophiles", I’ll take that as a compliment, thanks.

An audiophile (literally, "one who loves sound") is one who is concerned with achieving high-quality results in the recording and playback of music. Audiophile values may be applied at all stages of the chain: the initial audio recording, the production process, and the playback (usually in a home setting). The adjective "high-end" is commonly applied to audiophile vendors, products, and practices.

As for you getting all offended by my so-called "assumptions" I suggest you not take things so personal.
Note:
Smilies should be used more often in our posts. I find that without them it’s hard to bring across the right type of feeling; sometimes others feel offended by ones post when really that person meant no harm, or even the complete opposite. I will keep this in mind for future posts (now that I found how to post smilies).
No but really, I’m an:angel: and would normally not try to say anything bad or offensive about anyone, except…??? See?=)

Hey thanks for that one. 😀
Anyways, I thought the y format is better then x format, where the blah blah blah supersedes the blah blah blah??? Oh well, I could be wrong.:)
AAC (m4a) is better than MP3, it’s based on MP3pro (adding back high/low ends on the fly) and is about the same size as a LAME Joint ST file.
For best quality and space use AAC, iTunes supports ripping and encoding though you can use anything. Then again I prefer lossless so what do I know? 🙂
Anyway check out my Final Fantasy FLAC Lossless VGM downloads
