Soul of Thamasa

Hey guys I’m currently working on getting the tournesol. I have a good number of the items but a few of them yet elude me. I need to know where to acquire the soul of thamasa, and soul powder. I believe I have everything else so if anyone could help me that would be great.

Soul of Thamasa
Drops – Oversoul …………… Necrohol of Nabudis
Steal – Ishteen ……………. Barheim Passage (rare monster)
Other – Reward of Deathscythe Mob/Mark Hunt mission

Soul Powder
Drops – Etem ……… Henne Mines
Steal – Vorres ……. Necrohol of Nabudis (rare monster)
Other – Reward of Ixtab Mob/Mark Hunt mission

I shot myself in the foot by killing ishteen before starting to collect for the tournesol.
I already beat deathsythe too so guess I only need four.
Is there any way to get the soul of thamasa other than chaining oversouls in the NON?
i might not get one in a whole day of play.

First of all, this is a two year old thread, but oh well, at least you’re asking a question yourself.

Anyway, no, you must either get them from Oversouls or take advantage of Ishteen.

Also, Oversouls are unchainable as far as I’m concerned, given their spawning pattern, but that doesn’t matter. Soul of Thamasa is a Monograph drop, which means that it has nothing whatsoever to do with chaining. Just keep killing them.

Why not chain Dustia or someone to get the whole High Arcana? It’s easier than getting the pieces like Soul of Thamasa to make it.

Of course, that works too. But isn’t High Arcana also a Monograph drop unrelated to chains? I mean, via the Canopic Jar, which makes RG drop High Arcana.

Yeah, but considering the speed at which one can kill Dustia, its a hell of a lot quicker than killing Oversouls and collecting all the other components.

Yeah, you can use any rare game to get the High Arcana, but Dustia seems to be the one that can be chained easiest/fastest. Alternatively, you can steal the High Arcana from any Esper, iirc. That might be worth looking into if you haven’t gotten them all yet. Two birds with one stone, but it might be more fun to kill the remaining one(s) with the Tournesol.
