…but tonight, I gave it a try. My friend showed me Akira. I know to all you hardc0re wacko-Jappo fans, this is small potatoes, but to a guy like me who has never watched the stuff, well…

what the fuck =/ It was awesome to watch, no doubt, but srsly, thats some fucked up shit.

It changed my opinion on this stuff though. I thought it was all big eyes, big hair, and ridiculous flashing backgrounds, but Akira was really awesome to look at. I’ll tell you what though, watch it while on some mind-warping drugs, and you’d probably die.

Well Meph, it was the same for me. When i first saw Akira i was blown away and it made me cosider looking up other animes. The second anime i saw was Ghost in the shell, which was even better imo.

I wouldn’t say blown away. But I am interested in the graphic novel. Its meant to be super different from the film. I went to the library to see if they had it. They do…but the 6 books are scattered across the libraries of Essex, none of which are in Southend.

Yeah, the 6 phonebook sized novels are so much better than the movie, but that doesn’t mean the movie isn’t good, it’s still up there with the best!
