I was listening to ‘Lightness’ by ‘Death Cab For Cutie’ and I’m positive it’s sampled the ambient background noise from ‘Macalania Woods’ in FFX/FFX-2.
Does anyone know if this is the case….?

I seriously doubt they would use Masashi Hamauzu’s Masterpiece that is "Macalania Forest" in a dull song that is "Lightness" by Death Cab For Cutie.
"Macalania Forest" is not used in FFX-2 because a) Hamauzu’s talent would be wasted on such a crappy game and b) Noriko Matsueda and Takahito Eguchi decided to make a new version of it (which is far insuperior to Hamauzu’s version).
