Denny, you should know better 🙁
I still thought it was fantastic until Half-Life 2 came out a week later.
Care you elaborate on your reasoning, or are you just going to take the fanboy route?
Gameplay wise, it was equal with the first. Xbox Live made multiplayer fantastic all the time, and the extra multiplayer modes were fun as well. The single player story, which people dis so much, was indepth and intriguing, once you get past the "OMG THEY SAID THEY WERE ON EARTH AND THEY’RE NOT" factor. Although I was disappointed it ended where it did, I’m still going to get Halo 3 as soon as it comes out, just to find out what happens next.
As for the graphics, they were incredibly ambitious. Perhaps they pushed the Xbox too far – but a little pop-in I can live with. It’s certainly better than the game lagging; the only time i’ve seen Halo 2 lag is when someone with a bad connection hosts an Xbox Live game. Compare it to a game like KOTOR 2, which lags like a bitch, and you’ll see how smooth it is.
Don’t get me wrong, i’m not saying it’s the greatest game of all time – it’s far from it, in fact. But I challenge you to find a better console based shooter. (Metroid Prime doesn’t count, ’cause First Person Adventure, not Shooter.)
You know, i’ve never been really abused while on Xbox Live – and if someone’s singing down the headphones, you can just switch the headphones off. They’re not really necessary, even in team games – you can get by without them. Apart from that, playing on Xbox Live is exactly the same as playing in a normal System Link game, except you don’t have to worry about organising 8 friends to bring 8 TVs and Xboxes.
] My gripe with halo 2 is that it was visually too dark. But it says a lot when after replaying the original god knows how many times, i was sick of halo 2 after finishing it once.
…try turning the brightness up? Sure, a lot of the game was based on indoor environments, but they were no darker than the indoor environs in Halo 1. And Delta Halo is definately as bright.
2. Sword of Mana
3. The Matrix
They suck my rainboots!
What’s wrong with FFIV? Happens to be one of my favs, but to each their own.
The games I was disappointed with mostly, were –
Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter
Suikoden IV
FFX
FFX-2
Samurai Warriors
My reasons for them… Well, with BoF Dragon Quarter, I hated the gameplay and controls, and the voice acting in it was atrocious. For Suikoden IV… It’s bad, worse than Suikoden III. FFX and FFX-2… I’ve posted my say about these two time and again, so I won’t bore you with it here. And Samurai Warriors… A pale imitation of Dynasty Warriors.
I CANT STAND YUNA’S FUCKING BITCHING AND WHINING
and it takes too god damn long to lvl up
Yeah. Because the Myth series weren’t awesome strategy games. And basically, you’re saying Halo 2 is awful because it didn’t interest you, which is an extremely self-centred thing to say.
…
You know, in the real world, people have to back up statements with facts 🙁
GENERAL GAMING IS THE REAL WORLD.
Let’s not <3
http://www.gamestats.com/objects/482/482228/
Based on 87 reviews, the game is quite good!
FFVII (not really that great, and waaaaaaaaaaay way over-hyped. (cue the fanboys/girls baying for blood)
Perfect Dark cause a crap game, story, and faaaaaaaaaar too like Goldeneye for my liking.
Zelda Windwanker obviously an attempt by Nintendo to get the younger gamers interested in the series. Waste of GC’s graphics, and a barely re-hashed version of OoT story? Not impressed at all.
Rise Of The Robots, that game looked so cool but when you actually played it….fuck.
Bloodwake, just….wrong.
Goldeneye, I don’t know anyone else who thinks it’s over-rated but I can’t see anything special in it.
Kotor 2
well anyway games that dissapoint me were
— baten kaitos: eternal wings/lost ocean
–halo2 (i just hated the new vehicles and though duel weildinf is fun and seems more real, i thought it made it too easy.)
Yeah, ditto for KOTOR 2 – apart from the obvious frame-rate issues, it was more of the first; all that you can ask for really in a game that came out only a year after its predecessor. And the story was awesome, if not padded out (or completed) as well as it should have been.
–halo2 (i just hated the new vehicles and though duel weildinf is fun and seems more real, i thought it made it too easy.)
Yeah, they fucked with the Warthog physics – I miss instant kills when running over people 🙁
Duel wielding doesn’t make it easier though – with a Battle Rifle, I can take out somone with 2 SMGs a mile away. I miss my kick ass pistol though; I had a game of Halo 1 LAN with my friend the other day, and we were playing on Sidewinder. I was in the middle part of the level, and he was in the blue base with a sniper rifle, and I took him out with my trusty pistol – man that felt good!
Me I love the Silent Hill series (one of my favs), but this one i just could not bring myself to play this crap again. Again this is just my opinion.
I don’t see why Halo 2 got so much hype. I didn’t find the story all too intersting, as it still feels too much like a ‘SHOOT EVERYTHING THAT MOVES’ type of game. I think playing Halo 2 online is a blast, and I can’t get enough of it. These new maps, the autoupdate, and the patch are really going to rekindle my love for Xbox Live, as I’m glad with it.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is not an excellent game, or either a great game for that matter. I enjoyed the graphics emmensely, but that’s pretty much it. Way too much sailing, same old story, and now you have to pay to assemble the triforce? Pfft.
I loved Perfect Dark, and think it’s underrated because Goldeneye came out before it. Sure, I believe the single-player mode in Goldeneye is considerably better, but I think the multi-player and the gameplay of PD is far better. It’s still one of my favorite game.
time, but mostly because Microsoft hyped it a lot.
Get some friends <3
Or Xbox Live, at least =/
Bots are for pussies.
Or Xbox Live, at least =/
Bots are for pussies.
Oh, I killed them with friends, I forgot to mention that. Me and three other friends against 4 bots is fun.
But I’d rather kill friends than bots, because the potential for AI is much greater.
You mean the potential for a bot whooping any human player ass, right?
Please. If you get your ass kicked by bots in any game, you have a severe problem =/
I suggest you stop playing FPS games immediately.
Oh teh noes, hax0rz!
There’s no possible way that they could just be better than you =/
If it’s a small enough map, then it’s not too difficult to figure out where the spawn point will be the majority of the time. I know that in Halo 2, I’ve done some of it.
That’s what you get for playing an inferior version of the game. Try playing one of the PC games.
EDIT: Then again, after reading your next post about your little TK spree, I wouldn’t want another of your kind infecting the servers.
Halo in general, i heard a lot of good things then i played it and found quite the oppisite 🙂
FFXI, i dont know what i expected from this but i came into this game just after having left SWG as a jedi and it didnt live up to my expectations.
Pro evo 4, just the same as Pro evo 3 🙂
unlimited saga……arrrrr shitty game >_<
…
…
yeah that really was
i thought it was a really cool game but it was so damn short i finished it in less than a week, and i dont play games very often!
Kind of like your posts o_O
Fuck off and die.
1. The new game stystem was ridiculous. (Where’d Techs, Armor, etc. go?)
2. The new look was stupid. (Why switch from the anime-ish style that made so many people praise EP1?)
3. The voice-acting was as bad as Xenogears. (Shion sounds girly, KOS-MOS sounds girly, everyone else has bad new VAs, except maybe Jin or chaos)
4. The story was wrong. (Why do we want to learn about Albedo and Jr.’s past so much?! A minor part of the game it could’ve been, but there are far more important issues)
5. The Music!!!! (UGH!!)
Killzone did a very good job as a Halo killer.
why dont you go back to screwing ya mum fag
Oh no, i’m being told off by someone who can’t even spell their own username properly =/
The worst game i played I think has to be.
Mario kart double dash for the gc.
I didnt like the levels it was to slow. The specials we awful and the music so cheesy. shame after the first one was so good.

Mario Kart: DD!! was a very good game. I wasn’t too keen on the whole ‘double-up’ cart idea, but I thought that it was very creative and put a lot of strategy into racing, instead of just holding down the button the whole way and squeezing past your opponent on a turn.
I really don’t care for either Halo or Killzone…. Give me MGS3 anyday.
I really don’t care for either Halo or Killzone…. Give me MGS3 anyday.
Ahh nice to see mr arrogance is back and listening to others opinion again.
I prefer halo to kill zone but mgs sucks imho.
You called yourself Dard_soilder. I could make so many soiling yourself jokes outta that.
as 4 your information fuck nut that is how i had intended to spell it so like i said go back 2 screwing ya mama
But about the whole Halo vs. Killzone, if you ask me, Halo was dissappointing. And I was impressed with Killzone. But that’s just my opinion.
Well maybe you should learn to spell and if your going to lie cover it better.
Anyways I like killzone but the weapons on halo2 were a lot better imho.
Although that doesn`t mean that Halo is better, i do think (the original) halo is still the greatest first person shooter ever next to Half Life 2.
I liked the graphics but that was before half life 2 came out, then it just took a back seat.
I liked the graphics but that was before half life 2 came out, then it just took a back seat.
Yup, half life 2 showed that even a low polygon eviorment could still look amazing.
What in the world are you talking about?
Halo 2 has had some pretty lag issues during online play at some points. I remember, because all the people playing were disappearing and reappearing in random points in the map. And when you shot somebody and you thought you killed them, you actually ended up doing no damage to them, and somehow you wind up on the ground dead. The plot for Halo 2 was pretty bad as well.
Dark, dark levels to hide a shit game.
Dark, dark levels to hide a shit game.
Halo2 was better that kill zone.
But I prefered half life and c.s to both of them
Then why do you play final fantasy?? ….moron. Think before you type.
Also, I don’t know what is up with all the Halo bashing. The only thing I disliked about both of the halo games was the lack of strategy and the constant running and shooting, but that doesn’t make it a horrible game by any means. I enjoyed the plot, the action, and the gameplay. It really is a pretty great game.
The most disappointing game of all time is Devil May Cry 2, which was really horrible.
And besides it doesnt compare to some other games of the same genre.
And besides it doesnt compare to some other games of the same genre.
Every game gets boring and repetitive if you play it long enough. The only FPS games I can think that I liked better than halo are both the half-life games, goldeneye and perfect dark.
I can think of a few more tbh:
Far cry
red faction
operation flashpoint
battlefield 1942/vietnam
and……soldier of fortune the original :p
you need stylus

I don’t think any of those are as good as Halo.
I like all of them except Red Faction… but none as good as Halo.

How can you even begin to compare a console based fps like halo to a game like far cry, Far cry has superior graphics and better AI in far cry not only do the enemy’s issue radio commands to each other to keep track of your movements but they also work as a team to take you down. in halo all the little coloured aliens do is stand in spread out positions trying to take you down with scattered fire. Also if you look at most reviews of pc magazines far cry will score higher than halo everytime. The fact that halo started off life as a console based shooter is a major downside since the graphics were limited.
Also i could explain why all the other games are better to but i cant be bothered right now.

O rly
Game spot gives Far Cry a 9.2, while giving Halo 2 a 9.4 and Halo a 9.7.
Ign give Far Cry a 9.2, while giving Halo 2 a 9.8 and Halo a 9.7.
OBVIOUSLY SOMEBODY DISAGREES WITH YOU.
Just because you like something better does not make it fact. Halo is one of the best selling games ever for a reason.
Halo scored in the mid 80’s in most reviews whereas games like half life 2 scored a 97 twice and a 98 in pc gamer. Far cry was in the low 90’s which is still very good!
One question for you though have you actually played Far cry?!

Played the demo for it. Really liked it too. I really don’t want to argue this because it is really a difference in taste, not anything technical.
Also you are comparing Far Cry to a port of Halo. I am comparing it to Halo on X-box.
Also: If you look at the scores that Metacritic has given the games
Halo = 97
Halo 2 = 95
Far Cry = 89
Metacritic averages the scores from around 70 reviews.
I trust PC zone and gamer a lot more than any other reviewer since 9/10 times they are right.
9/10 times they complement your taste in games. That doesn’t necessarily make them right. Critics don’t write based on fact, they write based on opinion. My opinion differs from those sites apparently.
Of course, but that’s not saying much considering Far Cry was made a couple years after Halo. Graphics definitely do not make up for gameplay and overall fun, and I found Halo to be much more fun than Far Cry.
You’ll notice I thought Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were much better than Halo as well. You can assume that it is not because of the graphics.
High sales don’t mean that the game is great. High sales mean it sold a lot of copies. Brittany Spears sells a shit load of CD’s, that doesn’t mean her music is good.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not really arguing with you because I haven’t played either game. It just irks me when people say, "it sold a lot of copies so it must be good!" That is never a decent measuring stick. Selling a lot of copies just means you were able to convince a large number of people that they want to buy your product, it doesn’t mean the product is high quality.

I understand that, but the reason Britanny Spears sells so many CD’s is because a lot of people like her. Doesn’t necessarily mean she’s a great musician, but people like her, and therefore buy her CD’s.
Halo sold a lot of games, doesn’t mean it’s a great game but means that a lot of people like it.
No offense to you but i think that Halo is a game best suited to someone who wants an easy ride.
On the more challenging difficulties it is definitely a challenge.
UR GAMES TOO EASY IT SUX
o good one.
I was just saying that halo sold a lot of copies because you were saying my opinion was WRONG. There are quite a few people that agree with me apparently.
But anyway this argument could go on forever so unless you have something new to say i’m going to leave it at that.
Actually, no, it’s not. The great thing about Halo is that it’s in the mainstream now; it’s ‘cool’ to play Halo. Final Fantasy is a fantastic game that is still more suited to the realm of the ‘gaming fan’ – not a multiplayer fragfest with buddies.
The reason Halo (and Halo 2) sold so many copies is becuase every man and his dog bought one – not just every gaming fan. You can find the stereotypical bespeckled nerd playing it, right alongside the stereotypical stoner, right alongside the stereotypical jock – and usually in the same living room, around the same TV.
Far Cry hasn’t done that. Far Cry can’t do that. PC games can never, ever reach mainstream the way that Halo has. PC games rely too much on hardware, and the hardware is too expensive for the mainstream audience – compared to buying an Xbox, and being able to play four player straight away, to play 4 player Far Cry you would need 4 decent gaming PCs.
Now, I haven’t played Far Cry, so I can’t make any judgement calls, but I do know when it comes to the affect the games have had on the gaming world, Halo has made a far bigger splash.
And as for Halo it hasnt influenced any new games except Halo 2. as for Halo selling a lot of copies because its on the xbox that doesnt make it better than Far cry or op flashpoint or BF’nam.
PC games can sell lots of copies, look at World of Warcraft and the sims, WoW is the fastest selling game ever and the sims has the most recorded sales ever.
Have you actually played any of the games i mentioned on a top of the range PC? if you had you would see the difference between them and Halo.
Would you pull your head out of your little world for one second? I’m not talking about the gaming world. I’m talking the world as a whole. Half-Life 2 is a superior game, gameplay wise, to Halo 2. I’m not so sure about Doom 3, but that’s just personal opinion. What i’m saying is that you’re far more likely to find ‘normal’ people, ie, those who don’t usually play games, playing Halo 2.
And as for Halo it hasnt influenced any new games except Halo 2. as for Halo selling a lot of copies because its on the xbox that doesnt make it better than Far cry or op flashpoint or BF’nam.
I’m talking influential in how the community sees games. The launch of Halo 2 was the first one to be covered by traditional media, like the premiere of a large movie. It’s turning games from a niche industry into a mainstream one, which is good for the industry as a whole.
PC games can sell lots of copies, look at World of Warcraft and the sims, WoW is the fastest selling game ever and the sims has the most recorded sales ever.
No-one ever disagreed with you on that point – The Sims is another example of a genre-busting game that ‘non-gamers’ play. Except, in this case, the non-gamers are usually young teenage girls.
Have you actually played any of the games i mentioned on a top of the range PC? if you had you would see the difference between them and Halo.
Yes, I have. And like I’ve said many times, Half-Life 2 is far superior to Halo, in any incarnation. Unfortunately though, Half-Life 2 didn’t receive the same coverage – but hopefully, when it is released on the Xbox, it will.
First off you havent even played Far cry so why are you arguing over which is superior, it makes no sense, secondly it may have made a bigger impact on media and shit but new fps’ will be based on Far cry’s AI system not Halo’s.
Which is the gaming world.
I cant understand why there is more coverage for xbox games than PC when the PC is far more advanced than the xbox 🙁
Well it’s actually not too hard to think about really. Xbox sells for a lot less than a PC. Why put coverage on something that is so much more expensive than the other? I mean really, yeah PC games may be more advanced than Xbox games, but there are far more Xbox gamers in the world than PC gamers.
A PC can be used for so much more so most likley more people have them than some silly little console.
You are totally missing the point. Yeah a ton of people own PC’s, but there is more use in owning a computer than just playing games on it. With an Xbox, you buy it solely for the reason to play video games, nothing else. Not every PC owner plays PC games on said computer, but every Xbox owner plays video games on said Xbox.
A PC can be used for so much more so most likley more people have them than some silly little console.
That’s exactly what I just said. I’m sure that there are more PC owners in the world than Xbox owners, but a good number of them don’t even play PC games.
A PC can be used for so much more so most likley more people have them than some silly little console.
Every house has a PC, but does every house have a PC capable of running a game like Far Cry? Honestly man, you have to check the facts; to be a PC gamer you have to have a gaming rig, and they don’t come cheap. The average home computer, the type Average Joe buys, comes with onboard video, and couldn’t play most modern games if they wanted to.
Consoles are an affordable gaming solution, which is why there are a LOT more console gamers out there. Oh, and when I said ‘gaming world’, that was a slip; I meant ‘how the world sees gaming’, but I contracted it to something that doesn’t make sense.
And also, would you quit defending Far Cry? I only said that Half-Life 2 was superior to Halo 2. I haven’t played Far Cry. I’m not going to judge it. But I do know the gaming industry, and i’ve read reviews of Far Cry – and i’ve read better reviews of Half-Life 2.
Like i’ve said, time and time again, no-one is disagreeing with you – there are many better games than Halo. But you do realize there are people out there who ‘don’t play games’, right? It makes me wonder after your PC comment. There are thousands and thousands of people out there who wouldn’t touch a PC game because only ‘geeks’ would, but those same people would have no problem playing on their frathouse Xbox getting stoned and playing Halo. It’s a new gaming audience, one that consoles (and some companies, like EA) cater for.
I’m sorry, but you cannot call yourself a gamer and have a biased opinion. I have a gaming PC, an Xbox, a PlayStation2 and a GameCube; I judge games based on themselves, not what platform they are on. At the moment, the best game (in my opinion, anyway) is Knights of the Old Rebupblic – a game designed for Xbox, that is available on the PC. However, because it was designed for the Xbox, the PC version isn’t as good; sure, the graphics are a slightly higher res, but the control feels off. Graphics are not everything when it comes to games.
Well i agree that a good number dont play PC games but i’d think that there are more PC gamers than Xbox gamers, if you look at the amount of time the pc has been around and the wide range of games it has then there are probably more people playing pc, especially if you look at the massive online community’s like everquest.
EDIT: raiden tbqhwy i dont call myself a gamer anyway, having a biased opinion? for saying that Halo sucks compared to Far cry.
Last time I checked, I believe that there have been 20 million Xbox units sold worldwide. Yeah I know for a fact that there are more than 20 million PC’s around the world, but I’m willing to bet that there aren’t 20 million PC gamers in the world.
And this argument has turned into PCvconsole not Halo v Far cry.

Donkey kong sucked I hated that game.
Especially the party version they tried bringing out for the gamecube
Silent Hill 2

Sales really don’t prove a game’s great. Sorry man, I agree with you on most things.

WHAT mgs3 is the greatest game of all time how can you say it was dissapointing!!!! >:O
1. Rise of The Robots (SNES)
2. Sonic Heroes (PS2), and any game not named Sonic Advance- or Sonic Rush- after that IN HONEST FACT!!!
3. Metal arms- Glitch in The System (PS2)
4. Megaman Battle Network Series (GBA), despite I think these games are okay to play…
5. Megaman Zero Series (GBA)- The grading system made these games unfun and unenjoyable in terms of difficulty and replay factor, Luckily in my opinion, the ZX series revives the series in my opinion by NOT HAVING A GRADE SYSTEM.
6. And ANY LICENSED GAME YOU THINK OF BASED OFF TV SHOWS AND MOVIES, WHICH ALL USUALLY SUCK ASS!!! Sorry for my offensive language, BUT IT’S TRUE!!!
ShaqZero- These are my choices, Mock if you want. I’M RIGHT AND I DON’T CARE!!!
