Fishing and how "fun" it is!

Okay, out of all of the trades in Final Fantasy XI, Fishing is probably the most boring and the least expensive. Basically, you sit down on a fishing spot with a crap load of bait and a good fishing rod… for good long hours.

Right now, my fishing level is at 1, mostly because I don’t dedicate my time on fishing too much as I do leveling up my jobs or my cooking trade. However, there is some profit from Fishing and I’d like to use that to my advantage for other things such as equipment and stuff.

After leveling in Qufim, getting the keys to Kazham, Rank 3, Bard Job, and all of that other junk, I’m most likely going to try to raise fishing.

Now for all of you that fish, what do you do? I mean, there are a bunch of things you can do while leaning on the back of your chair and listening to the game closely for a catch.

I play Pokemon while I fish… but sometimes when I try to fish in Both games, I end up hitting the wrong controller. 🙁

I spent my time learning a forgein language when fishing but i forgot it all when i fell asleep fishing, woe is me. ;_;

Typo likes to watch tv or talk on the phone whie fishing. Also, there ish usually at least one interesting conversation going on in one of me linkyshells, so there ish almost always something else for Typo to do to alleviate the boredom some~

Fishing is one of those things that a lot of people cannot do without going nuts from boredom unless they have something else to keep them busy.

Typo ish going to be spending the next 3 day doing intensive fishig in La Theine. Making about 10k an hour, Typo will reach 300k at 10hrs per day to be able to afford LV50-60 goodies~

Should be fun! ;3 ;3 ;3

I’m too low a level to even worry about fishing right now. 🙁

Though I wouldn’t mind getting a pole sometime. o.o

You’re never too low a level. ^^

There’s a guy in my ls who’s a level 16 thf with lvl 57 alchemy. o_O

Maybe he’s on his second character and he’s using that as a mule. o_O;

Nope, it’s his main character.

He just really enjoys farming and crafting a lot more then leveling- I don’t think he’s partied once since he hit 15 with his thief.]

It’s not that hard to craft up to high levels at those..er…levels. I was ~15ish THF when I got to level 38 cooking.
