Favorite Anime Themes/Musik

O.K. since there is an annoying themes thread I thought it only fitting that there should be one for favorites as well. Yuo know those tunes that you constantly find yourself humming or the songs you looked up the lyrics for(if you’re like me and you don’t know japanese). This is where you put your Favorites. So, enough with the redundancy, here are a couple of mine…
The .hack//sign themes… thanks MogK don’t know how many times I’ve put that OST on while I surf.
And "Tank" from Cowboy Bebop. Just got session one with the full version vid, its great.

I like the Evangelion theme, for soem strange reason. 🙁

Mine would be the Love Hina opening theme…… lords know how much it irritated my family. I got it for my Birthday and watch 5 hours straight. Way cool

another nice opening theme would be the evangelion opening theme. cruel angel thesis is especially nice to listen to when ones doing some boring homework or revision. spices up the work 😀

i really liked the ending song to Last Exile, "Over the Sky." I also liked Full Metal Panic’s opening "Sore ga Ai deshou" and Onegai Twin’s Op "Asu e no Namida."

lol. every time my parents listen to japanese music, they immediatly leave the room, complaining about their bleeding ears and how the voices sound like chipmunks…

I’m all about Inuyasha music. The best out of the opening themes for them has to be the GRIP! opening by Every Little Thing. And the new Four Seasons song and Sotsugyou, by Namie Amuro and Tackey & Tsubasa, respectively.

I love music by Joe Hisaishi (soundtracks from Mononoke Hime, My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, Laputa, Kiki, Porco Rosso…)!!

I like music from NOIR ("Chloe", "Secret Game", "Lullaby" etc.) and Ghost in the Shell. Oh, and I like "Love Tropicana" (opening theme) from Jungle wa Itsumo Hale nochi Guu – it’s funny and weird anime series :]

If you ever read ANY of my posts you should know that I would say Inuyasha! BUT no I think about Magic Knights Rayearth. The first anime show I’ve ever seen. I finished at the 3rd episode ‘caue I wanted to buy Inuyasha instead and it’s MY money!

You Bad gurl Rin! How could you! Magic knight Rayearth was probably the anime with your most fond memories and you dumped it after the third episode! Bad gurl!

Nah I’m Kidding. It’s your life and you can do anything you want with it. But I think the starting theme from samurai X deserves an honourable mention. Quite Nice 😀

Agree wid u Zikan.. Sam.X 3rd opening theme is da best to me.. tink it was Kimi Ni Fureru Dake De.. i wud like to mention Evangelion, Saiyuki, Fushigi Yugi.. both their openin and endin themes r.. well GOOD!! 😀

I really liked the Witch hunter Robin (see sig) theme. I wish more anime would come out based around Witches like that.

Gundam also has a great theme. I loved Gundam Wing. Just the way their is so much battles and wars going on that people start to wonder whether they are on the right side. When you look at it their really isnt any right or wrong sides. Just friends who you want to protect.

My favorite opening theme of an anime series-well I have two-three
First is "ex-dream" from the anime, X.
The second is "Duvet" sung by boA from Serial Experiment Lain
and the last one is the opening song of Excel Saga

As for openings giving away what the series might be like. I think with some it does. With others they can totally fool you into thinking this anime is serious or funny, but it turns out to be the exact oppisite of what you first thought it was.

I love all of BOA’s music, not just the stuff they did for Serial Experiments Lain, but all that stuff is fantastic.

I like pretty much anything Yoko Kanno does, but my favorite piece is "Rain" from Cowboy Bebop. I like the version with a man singing and not the version they play in Ballad of Fallen Angels though.

I love the entire soundtrack to Hellsing, and I also love the way they name all the songs.

Stuff like the Chobits Soundtrack or the mini-godess theme also appeal to me- it’s just so damn cute.

Gotta love the music from noir, and the theme music from Utena, it just gets in your head, and then you can’t get it out, like that stupid las ketchup song form a couple of year ago

Noir does have an awesome soundtrack. (sigh) I never got to finish the series

why not, i’m just waiting for the last dvd’s to come out, then i’m gonna get the OST as you said it does rock

Hmmm… lets see my absolute favorite theme song from an Anime would have to be Yoko Kanno – Kiseki no umi from Record of Lodoss war.

Well, the very first song I heard in japanese was "Zankoku na tenshi…" so it’s one of my favorites. But my favorite anime OST it’s the one from Saikano, and the intro of Shingetsutan Tsukihime, "The Sacred Moon".. sadly no extended version exists.. and Melissa and Kesenai Tsumi from FMA, hope to see the anime soon xD

I never watched Cowboy Bebop but there’s this, main theme I guess, called ‘Tank!’ or something around that.
"Digimon’s OP theme, both english and japanese.
"Ah! my godess!" opening theme.
This is gonna sound childish but "Doraemon"’s opening theme.

I’m more into instrumental pieces than songs. If these opening songs were to transform the voices that sing into instruments like violins or clarinets, I bet I would like them better that way.

I agree to "Tank" as well as "The Real Folk Blues".
I also enjoyed a lot of the Mobile Suit Gundam soundtrack.
Oh, and the opening to Texnolyze… ee, hai

I like the vocal songs from Yoko Kanno and a few instruments from her like "Guitars" from Wolf’s Rain, "Tank!" and "Piano Black" from Cowboy Beebop…

Besides Yoko Kanno’s work, I LOVED Yuki Kajiura and her .hack series & Madlax

I also like "This Love" from Blood +, almost all Digimon songs, Haibane Renmei songs (esp. Blue Flow, Free Bird, Ailes Gries, and Starting of the World), Chrno Crusade songs (esp. Prologue), Evangelion songs, CC Sakura songs (esp. Ki ni Naru Aitsu that sung by Syaoran’s seiyuu), Saiyuuki songs, "Bloom" from GetBackers, "Eien to Iu Bashou" from Corrector Yui, "Ameagari" from Angelic Layer, and I also enjoy Gundam Seed OST..
