Local gaming store, not going to be able to get one over the internet without using a credit card, thats for sure, so quit lookin here. Look in a phonebook or look for a gaming store around where you live.

Well…

You could try to look around underground places or fanshops around your area. You’ll have to look around for a place that’ll chip your PS2… not to mention a place that can do it WELL.

As for playing with NTSC and PAL… you’ll have to buy a separate adapter for that to show the two different levels. If you put a PAL game on a NTSC TV, the color will be distorted and the screen will be shifted off. Likewise for NTSC game on PAL TV. I believe an SCART would convert the video signals.

Remember that there are many different PS2 modchips. You’ll have to find the right one that matches your model and one that’ll fit your needs… avoid the non-solders ones at all cost though.

And also remember, if you mod your PS2, it’s warranty will be void the moment you rip the sticker off and Sony will not fix modded PS2’s.

Why would anyone want to do that? 😉
You’re right though. Though I believe there’s also a difference if you use some old TV set or a newer one. Our old one (now dead) failed to display the colour correctly, they were all too bright, too extreme… The new one worked fine, expect for the colours. It’s black and white unless you use some cable… what kind of cable again…?
