Reign

Has anyone actually watched the Japanese or *gags* American version of this anime? I thought it was really good personally.

Ive seen some of it, and the art style really didnt appeal to me. So I didnt watch any more.

I�ve seen it and I actually enjoyed it, the art style did take some getting used to though. I really wish the series didn�t end so soon though it only did have 13 episodes.

you mean the one with aeon flux animations? i like it. i’m so fascinated by the art and animation i always wanna see it. lol i’m so jelous of the people behind this style. so detailed, and everything. it is kinda funny how they seem to have this intresting posture or form, like..either they dont have hips or something is up with them. but aside from that, they really make GREAT facial expressions. its fantastic. i love it all. i have no clue about the story. it comes out late at night so i have to have the volume really low i can’t even hear it but i’m just looking at the animation anyway so i’m pretty happy lol.

It comes on for me after Home Movies, which I usually watch…and everytime it’s over…I either turn the channel or go to sleep…I really can’t stand Reign.

I haven’t given it much of a chance, so perhaps I’m being unfair, but for the few minutes I saw of it…it didn’t appeal to me at all. The design is very different from that of regular anime, and it just seems so..dull and tasteless.

I’d have to actually watch an entire episode before I can base a final opinion about it, but mreh…that’s what I think of it. =\

My teacher gave Aeon Flux to me; it did not appeal to him. THe art style does not appeal to me, yet I should not judge too quickly. I have not watched it… well before I have but do not remember.

Atually not many people find the artwork wonderful and because of that never give the story line a try. I personally find the artwork just amazing. Indeed the detail is just out of this world… Well keep telling me stuff… This is one way I find new ways to talk to people about more then games.

Oh and Aeon Flux was one of the first animes I had ever seen. It was like the second one really. But anyways you should give Reign a chance, it’s really good personally and the length of the series does such but other then that it’s great.

Since I first saw it when it aired on Mtv (note: it used to be on public tv), I thought it was an American thing, not anime. XD

Yeah, it’s anime. It was written by a Korean manga dewsigner and then transfered into a Japanese manga and then series. Aeon Flux is one of the first major animes to hit the US in the late 80s early 90s. And get this, my mother told me all of this info.

and yeah i thought it was american animtion as well. so diffrent. doenst follow what i’d come used to as "anime" style. :p

but i still love it. i think i’m just jelous and amazed at nearly any type of animation i see i guess. but aeon flux and reign just blow me away. i love it!!!! i love the shadows lines and expressiosn the most. the expressions are fantastic.

but still. as for story. i have no clue. the volume is too low for me to hear for fear of waking up my parents and being sent to sleep which pisses me off cause i’m 19 and out of school and theres no reason for me to go to sleep early and its lame and CRAP! lol but anyway. i love the art.

I guess I shouldnt take my free Aeon Flux for granted. I gotta watch it sometime… ^^;; Reign as well. 🙂

I think reign is great
not only because it’s a breathe of
fresh air when it comes to the animation style
but because of the storyline behind it.

in one case lil kids can watch it and say…"it’s cool
you saw how the horse ran through the guys, and how
Alexander killed that guy."

and then in anohter case you have the more,
I dun wanna say intelligent, the people that are more into depth of and anime, understand the whole theory about the world
being brough up…

it works for all, IMO
