Debate: Items

Most useful type of item (don’t say an item, just a type, or we’ll be here forever. By type, look at the poll. I reckon the most useful type are the HP healing ones because those give life. Course, you can use magic to give life too so that’s why it’s a debate (meaning that MP recovery would be most useful and so on) But HP ones are cheaper.

Hm.. HP healing items.
If you use HP ones, you don’t have to use MP to cure your characters with magic, plus you can buy tons of new ones from the money you gain by fighting. And if you use ’em enough, you don’t need revival items either. :B

I’d go for HP healing and status healing. You cant use items if you are asleep or cast magic when silenced XD.

I would go for HP Recovery, because….well…..like Rosiel said.

I think they’re all important to be prepared:

HP: Ofcourse, one of the most common,where would you be without it?

MP:there are some abilities that absorb MP, but how many peole get them, plus, those abilities aren’t in every FF.

Revival:Obviously useful early on,when you have no life spell,but a easy alternative if you don’t have enough MP, and want a character up right away.

Status healing:What good is magic if everyone is silenced?….of if you can’t cure that yet?

Status changing:You generally get Status attack items before the magic itself,which might give you an edge where you are now.

Attcking:There are some good ones out there, really!

But that’s just me, and that’s how I think.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">I would say either HP healing or status healing; they’re about the only items I ever used anyway. 😉 Even so, I generally use magic for healing anyway; so MP restoring items are also useful. However, I generally don’t need to use them very often; or if I do I often use an Elixir anyway. Or just Tent between battles or something. 😀

Hp recovery items are the most usefyl at the beggining of the game but MP recovery items prove to be more useful as you progress in the game… ( You can always use White magic ).

What fun is a game if it doesn’t have those items that you get and are just like ‘were these guys on crack when they made this game?!!’

Status healing, Hp healing and Revival items for sure. Especially in the beginning of any final fantasy game XD
and then ofcourse the most important Item… money :B

Ah, I voted for the ‘HP healing’ option as it’s really useful to me and I use it a lot cos it’s good when it comes to healing your party and surviving battles, of course :rolleyes:

MP recovery are, because you can restore health, and even cure poison and stuff, with magic, which is a lot more helpful to have, than an item that restores HP

MP recovery is indeed very important but I htink one option is left out. In FF8 I use draw to heal myself thx to my oppenents.

For me…The most important items are weapons and armors..You CAN’T win a fight without those..j/k:p
hey that sounds like true, well MP recovery and status recovery are the most usefull of course, magic cures everything and of course you can heal silence using status recovery…so you get recovered.

Nice to know someone actually read my post,certainly,equipment is a form of items,but isn’t consumable,although there are games that have their equipment being able to do effects,like Grandia.

It’s a mix for me. I’ve always thought HP/MP recovery items like Elixer’s, Mega Elixer’s, Tent’s are the most important items. Hp items are a neccessity at the beggining of any RPG. However, i think this changes alot and things become more dependant on magic. err so i guess they are both important in there own ways. As for Status items, i believe they become obsolete throughout the game. My opinion tho, i respect everyone’s thus far.

I use magic to restore my characters hit points, therefore the MP restoring item is the most important item to me, to get my characters MP restored to the maximum level in order to heal them up. Still, HP healing items are helpful in order to save on MP. It’s up to the individual in question.

HP is very useful and thats what I chose… The rest can be useful, it really depends on what type of situationyou are in.

status changing ones are usually the only ones I use

Status changes are the best, silimcing oppents or even confusing them can give great advantages, or using zombie and kill them with life >=O evil yes but very usefull.

Revival for me. I usually try to accomplish anything else by magic and/or attacks, but I find that with the high cost of revival spells sometimes, Phoenix Downs and such can be pretty helpful.

I think HP items in the beginning, MP/no items near the end. Usually at the end of these games I use magic for everything and if I do use a item its an elixir. So I guess HP/MP items are the most useful 🙂
