Best character……..

Who do you think is the best chracter is FF8?
Who do you think has the best personality, and which one do you think is most thought out?
I think Rinoa is the best, with her flirty attitude 😀

Seriously, though, it’s a tough choice. I found I could relate to a lot of characters in FFVIII. Squall really made me think about myself, which was kind of tough because I’ve always been a loner but recently I’ve been trying to change. Squall reminds me a lot of myself in terms of things I don’t like about myself. Quistis was another character who reminded me of myself, although not in a bad way like Squall. Edea was cool, how she became a sorceress because she didn’t want any of the children to have that fate, and then she goes and forms an organization dedicated to fighting her. Talk about self-sacrifice. And Cid (why isn’t he on the list?) was similarly cool; he had to make SeeD fight Edea, even though he loved her. And besides, you have to admit that Cid is cool in a dorky way.

And, of course, Fujin and Raijin rule. It just struck me as really cool how they were so loyal to Seifer and were able to save him when they realized that he was just being used by Ultimecia. (See above comment about being a loner and wanting to change. I guess it makes sense that a friendship theme would stand out to me.) And of course, the Fujin and Raijin scenes are really funny, ya know? :p RAGE.

Most of the FFVIII character appeal to me. Except for Squall, that is o_O

I personally thought Quistis was the best. Her personality, responsibility, style.. I liked everything about her XD And I guess this is only me, but it was like she fell for Squall in the beginning of the game. Then when Rinoa came around, she let her ‘have him’ X_x; Nice attitude, yesh? ^^;

Too bad the game itself was quite boring.. :uh?:

I’d like choose Seifer, he has an interesting personality—>Protector, he says he want to be a knight for someone he would like to protect.;)

Laburnski, yeah, I forgot to mention Seifer. Another one I can relate to, or at least understand. The whole "Sorceress’ Knight" thing was because he wanted to feel important, like he was protecting someone important and had a cause to live for. He didn’t have the discipline to become a SeeD, so he needed to become something else to keep from feeling like a failure. And it was obvious from the start that he had the whole thing planned out. If you look at the computer in the classroom, you can see that he’s got a book about Sorceress’ Knights out. (Raijin, on the other hand, has a book about Pupurun. :uh?: ) And of course, there’s the whole "romantic dream" thing he talks about.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I like "villains" who actually have a reason for being the way they are. Seifer’s not a bad person; Ultimecia was just taking advantage of his vulnerability.

Personally, I think Squall was the most interesting character. While Irvine is a close second, Squall had an interesting change throughout the game. He went from this cold-hearted withdrawn jacka** to a really nice admirable guy, realizing that sometimes you have to rely on others, even going as far as to love.

I like Squall’s development through out the game….he liked being alone but in the end that is the least that he wants.

irvine is my fave char in the game i thought he was dressed cool and he kicked ass

I am not able to vote right now(DAMN GLITCH)……..and most people probably don’t feel like voting and many other people that voted for seifer probably didn’t feel like posting.

Hmmm, it’s a tie between Rinoa, Squall and Zell, for me.

Its funny, because my favorite Character is also the one who pisses me off the most. Squall was such a sissy sometimes. But he is still my favorite

She’s ignorant, too flirty, changes her mind about love all the bloody time; ugly…etc…..gahhh…..

In the space scene, she looks like a friggin mouse.

She’s loyal, she doesn’t talk much, and she’s violent.
What better?

Zell is definately the most ‘realistic’ character – he’s brutally honest, and reacts in a way to every situation that his character should do.

(My favourite character is Squall by the way…I always like the leaders ;)).

Still, FF8 is freaky…I have a parellel in my friends of nearly every character…I think Squaresoft stole my life. Except I don’t belong to SeeD. Damn.

***Minor Spoilers.***

Squall’s development from a loner to the leader of the Garden in its battles against the Sorceress, and therefore having to start to care for others, is an interesting one. Squall evolves during the game and becomes a more caring individual, one who begins to see the value in friendship.

In saying that, you’ve got to admire Fujin and Raijin in standing beside Seifer no matter how far he goes, until it gets to the point that the two of them realise that they cannot help him find his self, and that in order to help him, they have to abandon him. When Fujin drops out of character (Stops the "RAGE!" "FIGHT!" speak) and talks normally explaining why they were stopping, I was moved.

In the end though, my favourite character has to be Seifer. He’s the cool, collected villain who is fighting for what he believes in, and believes himself to be the Sorceress’ knight. Even when he is defeated, he still continues fighting for what he believes in, doing as the Sorceress bids. That sort of committment made me respect him as a character more so than the others.

I suppose if i think about it, Rinoa is not my only fave chracter, I think she is my fave and seifer….

I’d have to say that Zell and Rinoa are my 2 favorite characters. Zell was cool, and Rinoa was the best female in the game.

I’ve discovered that Fujin is contagious. I’ve accidentally trained someone at Questria to scream "RAGE" and kick my computer whenever the game makes my computer crash. :uh?: Which then caused someone else to say "fujin is retarded," so we ended up "fighting" each other in a Triple Triad match (my two pet peeves are politically incorrect terms and insulting Fujin, and this guy managed to do both in the same sentence! :rolleyes: ). I lost… he had better cards, ok?… :uh?:

I think Squall is the best because he is the coolest and I can relate to him really well.:D

One reason I like FF games is cause most of the characters personalities feel real and they are reasonable. Well, in this game… I don’t know about Ultimecia who was embinetted old hag and evil for no reason. But don’t get me wrong, I liked her as a main evil, she was sly and showed her face in the beginning only as Edea’s shell so everyone could blame Edea instead her- wasn’t it proven when they hired SeeD to kill her?

***I actually writed analyse of every character as long as that above to tell reasons why I like all of them, but then it seemed to me this reply would become way too long… So just forget it guys :)***

Ugh… I’d have voted Ellone or Laguna cause of the huge pains they have in their past both neither of them isn’t in the list… So I voted for Edea, since she’s strong and down-to-earth and was ready to sacrifice herself for safety of Ellone, Squall and the others.

hmmm. Laguna and as much as I hate to say it I relate to him more than the others. He’s a clutz and has a sunny outlook on things, and is over all probobly a friendly person. Plus i have a weaknes for guys with long hair. Hair…..hehehe……cute….. O_o
