This is a download from a Torrent... not my rip. The original uploader had an unnecesarily rude identity which I'll not repeat here, but you can find all the necessary torrent details here...

Thread 52144

---------------------------------------------------------------

Here are the notes from the Torrent posting....

Hello friends :)

So what's new here?... EVERYTHING!

First off, this is the COMPLETE score. My previous editions were missing a lot of music.

This edition is entirely re-made, from scratch. Using all new sources, I re-made every single edit, combination, cleaning, and everything else.

The previous editions were compiled from the 45-minute 1984 soundtrack release, the lego game music rips, and what I called a "mystery torrent" which included about 40 minutes of bootleg material.

I've since found that the bootleg material came from the surround channels of the DVD. The unreleased portions were incomplete, too fast & high pitched, and spliced into tracks from the original soundtrack - making strange jumps between music sections. I had to de-splice them, correct the pitch & speed, and re-insert them into tracks from my own copy of the 1984 soundtrack CD. The high speed and pitch means that the surround channels were not ripped from an original DVD, but instead a "shrunk" dvd copy.

I now have DVD AUDIO EXTRACTOR, which directly extracts and separates all audio channels from a DVD. I used this to extract the full quality 5.1 surround channels from my original copy of the DVD. This means that I now have full access and discretion to any and all material to be taken from the DVD.

The main source for this new edition is, of course, the remastered Indy music box set released last fall. The TOD portion of that set had its defects (such as 'album version' end titles, the wrong version of "map", and the edited cues from the '84 CD being lazily duplicated and dropped into the mix), but it did provide a TON of unreleased music with amazing sound. The box set provided most of the score here, and the remaining music was culled from the DVD channels.

I closely compared the box set tracks to the film channels, and found several bits of music that were missing from the CD tracks - those bits have now been restored. I also fixed some bad edits in tracks from the boxed set.

I had to use the old lego game rips in two small spots; The film version of "Map" (flight to china), and a small section of "Water". Miraculously, the "Map" rip has no game sound effects and sounds amazing, so we now have the complete airplane sequence with the correct film version of the map music! The brief "Water" segment has a few game sounds, but still sounds better than anything from the DVD channels. (the DVD channels were loaded with water and rumble sounds)

As usual with the DVD material, I closely examinded all channels and found the best possible elements. I then cleaned and adjusted them as best I could to further remove sfx and noise. In all cases where DDV material was used, the SUB channel was kept and equally amplified with the other channels.

What we have here is, all direct first generation material - meticulously and carefully compiled for the best possible presentation of this now complete score. I even did some mastering fixes on the box set material, in a few sections which sounded strange to me - particularly the 'british army' section. A couple tracks from the box were micro-adjusted for speed and pitch, to make them correct.

How could there only be 12-13 Tracks in the complete score??? That's what happens when this music is all combined properly... The film is basically constant music.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ______

For kicks, here's the overall conversion sequence of the DVD material from my previous TOD edition:

1.) original DVD ripped & shrunk (giving incorrect speed & pitch to audio cahnnels)
2.) surround channels ripped & edited
4.) converted to mp3 (192k or 256k, I forget)
5.) downloaded by me, and converted to .wav for editing purposes
6.) stretched back to correct pitch/speed, un-edited & re-edited
7.) converted to mp3, posted on demonoid

And who knows what else along the way...

Here's the conversion sequence for this edition:

1.) surround channels ripped directly from original DVD; edited & mastered
3.) converted to mp3 320, posted on demonoid
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ______

INCLUDED:

I.) COMPLETE SCORE - FILM VERSION

a.) This is every note from in the film, including source music. Also included are all appearances of the "thugee" music.

b.) All film edits are duplicated here. Some of them are ever-so-slightly adjusted, to keep them from sounding stupid. As always, much work was done on all of them to make them sound as natural as possible.

c.) Some tracks from the boxed set had portions of music that were different than what we hear in the film - those have all been corrected here.

d.) There is no dialogue in this, aside from minor crowd noise in the source cues.

II.) COMPLETE SCORE - MUSIC VERSION

a.) Like the film version, in that the tracks are combined as they are in the film.

b.) A few track combinations were adjusted slightly, to make them more musical.

c.) Any film edits that removed music were not done in this version.

d.) Any film edits that extended the music were retained here, besides a few that sounded strange.

e.) The first "thugee" sequence is the same as the film version - the following ones are edited for listening purposes... There is an alternate track that includes the unedited version of the second "thugee" sequence.

f.) In the "thugee" music spots; I kept the film versions, and did not restore the original form of the "Temple Of Doom" CD track. The edited film version, in my opinion, is much stronger and more interesting than the CD version. Just so you know, I used as much as I could from the original CD track to make the "thugee" sections, and did not just rip them from the film.

g.) In cases of CD tracks having different portions than what is in the film; I kept the film versions, and did not restore the "alternate" portions from the CD tracks.

h.) This version includes different presentations of the Pankot Palace music; First, a more straight-forward presentation of the first palace band cue. Next is an edit which features the score segments, and has very little of the palace band music in between. Last is an edit of the second palace band tune, with the intermittent score sections removed - It begins and ends with score cues, which was the only way I could start and end it well.

A selfish note: Both versions are quite notably different, so I hope you'll give both a chance Thanks!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOT INCLUDED:

I.) Original versions of box set tracks, or tracks from the original 1984 soundtrack release.

- The box set is commercially available, and includes all exact tracks from the 1984 release.

II.) Tracks from this edition which include "box set non-film alternate" portions.

- The purpose behind this edition is to have the separate tracks re-combined, to restore certain portions back to the ones we know and love, and to present this wonderful score correctly - and not be stuck with what certain people presume we want to hear.

III.) Previous versions of my TOD editions.

- Those will be kept up on demonoid.

IV.) The loads of novelty bonus material.

- That is all available "TOD REDUX" edition, mentioned above.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ______

Over time, I've recieved many requests for a higher bitrate of these Indy editions. While fully sympathetic to those requests, I wanted to keep something for myself, so I posted them as 128k mp3. In the interest of getting real, I've compromised - and this edition is in 320k mp3; As will be the remakes of Raiders & Crusade, when I get to them :)
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ______

Lastly; Thank you all so much for your comments, interest, and support for my Indy work! It sincerely has been very important to me, and has made me feel real damn good. It has also raised my standards for making these editions.

Enjoy, everyone - and take good good care :)

Excellent all of the tracks are similary as the film... included the Ending but the Ending at the end of British Army the Raiders March is a little more higher not like the Track from the Bonus disc of the expanded edition... the same but more higher, remastered... but excellent... im waiting for the other Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Last Crusade with the Ending of the Film...

I just listened to the first tracks. Nice (except for the obnoxious compressed sound), but apparently nobody has never understood the 'club' music when they're fighting for the diamond is an overlay for John Williams's music. I tried it and it works so well. So' you're missing something great again, sorry to say...

The guy made two versions and he missed that. ;)

I have a bootleg version with the Anything Goes music over the diamond fight cue. Its very cool! Sound is okay, not great but I edited the album and that version together and its pretty seamless.

bishtyboshty
05-21-2013, 10:23 PM
The last re-upload lasted for less than 4 weeks, that's a lot of effort to keep re-doing it every month.

I don't rule out further re-uploads down the road, but part of the reason for them being deleted must partly be due to the lack of download activity over time. Hours of re-upload effort for just one person a month to get it is just not viable.

Is it too late to ask for another re-upload?

It's not a question of lateness. There is clearly not enough interest here to merit this very large file being continually re-uploaded.

The person who created the original torrent has created a more recent version and that version has its own thread here.

Find that thread. I'm tired of all this.

I don't remember what page, but doubt it is still "active" as I think it was posted in 2011 ?.

My re-posting should be active for about 90 days after the last download. After that it will vanish, until re-posted again by some-one else.
