The psychotic rock and orchestral hybrid score composed by the light rock band Toto for David Lynch's Dune in full uncompressed sonic glory! I bought the CD on Amazon.com early this month. I don't know if this is the 1997 version or the 2001 version; the 2001 version being better sound quality.
I have made scans of all the artwork; which are kinda cheap looking, but I figured it worth doing so anyway for a sense of completion. These are probably my best scans; I've been getting better at it.
I love the Dune book by Frank Herbert, and love the 1984 Dune, though my feelings about the 2000 Dune miniseries are mixed. The 1984 Dune film is, in my opinion, a film bad enough to be good.

I actually thought it was pretty cool/unconventional to get Toto to score this film. I don't know if it was because they were a "name band" or another reason (somebody really HAS to ask them how it all came about), but I thought they did a VERY good job on the score. It's epic, but in a mystical, powerful kind of way, without the need for a 100-piece orchestra. Memorable melodies and needless to say, these guys can play. It is NOT a rock score.

Unsure about OP, but the re-upload I'm pretty sure is the 1997 disc, based on descriptions of the errors on Filmtracks (http://filmtracks.com/titles/dune.html) and a guide for distinguishing the two in this thread:

I've had the 1997 release since, well, I guess 1997. I've wanted the 2001 release forever but never seem to stumble across it. I really want to hear those tone fluctuations removed. Anyone have that one? And know for sure it's that one?

I read the linked post on FSM and it appears the re-issue (fixed) got printed with exact info as the '97 release, so it would be difficult to discern the two with just covers and other info as just the disc was changed and not any of the cover art or booklets.

I thought the tone fluxuations had been fixed for the 2001 release - I thought that was the main fix. Maybe the voices too?

I have just compared the five first tracks of the lossless version I have with the 256 kbps mp3s that were posted by gururu and both the wave and spectral views match (minus the lost frequencies of the mp3s). "My" version does not match zardoz22's extended version so I assume I have the 2001 rip. My version also matches one I downloaded from Soulseek and labeled as "2001 remastered".

I have also noticed that stereo is switched between zardoz22's version and mine/mp3. Volume is also higher on mine/mp3.

The rip is not mine, so thanks to the original uploader. The scans might not match the actual release.
