I for one am enjoying them very much. Downloading Tomorrow Never Dies as we speak. Really excited about The World Is Not Enough and Licence To Kill. Lots of missing music on those commercial CD's, especially Licence To Kill.

Thanks again. I was thrilled when I got these -- and still am whenever I play them. There are a lot of TND ones around but this is definitive. Even the "Bond Records" pressing is a bit of a mess. And their pressing of QOS hasnt even got the proper end credits on!

If you play tracks The Party II and Hamburg Break Out, you'll hear some dodgy editing nearing the end of the tracks where the bootleggers made the cues sound longer. Mine has none of those editing tricks on it ;)

I have so far heard two versions of Hamburg Breakout, the Bond Records versions and another boot, and both versions are different. They each contain the extra music as heard in the film (that was missing from the commercial release), but totally different edits!

I've been listerning to CR. Can't see much difference in what I have already except for a couple of extra beats in the African chase music from the begining of the film.

On CR, theres two extra pieces of instrumentation in African Rundown. Also, CCTV is slightly shorter than the album (by mere milliseconds) and You Know My Name is the film version with extra orchestration and different lyrics. I think thats it...

I noticed that "You Know my Name" was shorter, but haven't gotten to CCTV yet, but as you say, the chances are that I won't notice the "mere Milliseconds".

But it these slight difference that I like in a soundtrack.

Still looking forward to TSWLM, to see what you have, especially since many people are after the opening "Ski Chase" music that appeared in the movie & not the "bond 77" tune that everybody has.

The Suite, Prelude to a Killing and the rejected title song are just some of the new additions. Its a lot better than the commercial CD - I think you need to double check the commercial CD!

I didnt say these would blow everyone away, I just said they are the best expanded versions I've seen (well, heard) so far.

Can we get the track listings posted, Takehiro? It'll let us all know what ones have extra tracks over versions we already have.

Tell you what- here's an idea that will save you some typing. You'll be uploading the cd covers with the track listings with the albums anyway, right? What if you scanned them first, and uploaded all the covers in a file of their own?

That way we get the information we need, you get some scanning done you were planning to get done anyway, and you don't have to do a single bit of copying the text off the covers into writing on the forums!

What i am doing here is comparing what we are getting here with what we have had already in the original Bond post and then I am pulling the Clean tracks from the other downloads and adding them where i need to get a complete score as possible.

This will be my third version of this score or a duplicate of one that I already have.

Can never decide should the gunbarrel/surf up be 2 seperate tracks or just one.

This will help me decide as both my previous versions have the above either joined or seperate.

The Gunbarrel and Surf's Up were composed as two separate CUES, and then crossfaded in the movie to make one piece. So theyre presented as two cues on this CD set, as they were composed that way.

However, Antonov was one CUE composed from two PARTS, so on the CD its presented as one cue.

Hope that makes sense!

Im so looking forward to Spy Who Loved Me, the released cd was such a disappointment ,the pyramid music is some of the best in the series and the released cd ruined it, cant wait.

Whose insane idea was it to put that "Eastern Lights" cue in between that beautiful music is beyond me.

Just done some comparing with my DAD releases with this new one.

It would seem that my 2 previous releases is a mix of this one. Checking every track is a pain as they are all named different.

Other than the gunbarrel/Surf track which is ment to be two seperate tracks, I also have another "The Party" music which runs for 1.33 mins/secs.
The perice that is here on this new release is marked as "Alternative" on one of my previous downloads.

Sadly my other DAD downloads are a mix of 192kb & 320kb, so I'll be sticking with the higher rate.

Another thing that is sticking with me at the moment is the "UA" logo music that preceeds all bond's films. Some have this in place, some do not but is not major as it is not part of the bond score, unless you want every peice from the film.

Depending on the codec used, these VBR rates might well be the best in terms of quality. Some 320k rips cut off at 15/16khz (which is atrocious), whilst others go all the way to 20kHz. My VBR rips are encoded using LAME and have frequencies right up to 19khz.

The complete score definitely isnt on the commercial release. Its missing a handful of cues, albeit short ones. The main one is the bar escape piece ("James... move your ass") but its not a huge loss, IMO. But it seems everyones wanting a clean version of the end credits and so far Ive only heard it on this release.

The film version of the title song hasnt had a commercial release, so to have it here is a nice bonus, I think. Plus its what you hear in the movie. Hearing it in a cutdown form recreates the aural experience from the movie, it keeps the pace up I think.

I agree with you there.

I understand that LTK title track runs at around 5 mins as does an extendend version of TLD by AHA, so always welcome these as bonus tracks at the end.

A film score be it Bond, Star Trek, The Losers or what ever is to remind me of parts of the film when i listern to the score.
If anyone else is expecting something else, then maybe they shoul;dn't be listerning to soundtracks.

Precisely, LTK is a prime example of a title song that, when played in order with the score, it just drags the pacing out. I do like the full length version, but if I wanted to hear it, I'd rather hear it at the end.

Also MrM, the main title on the LTK expanded score I have is NOT a cutdown from the album version. The opening is entirely different for one. This is a case where its better to have the film version, as its a different mix and not an edit.

Bond songs were often cutdown or indeed mixed twice for the films - once for the title song and once for the album. Some of them -- The Man with the Golden Gun, Diamonds are Forever -- were the same on the album and on the film's title sequence.

There are two versions of the Licence To Kill single: the 5 inch and the 12 inch versions. The longer version (12") is the one on the soundtrack album. The shorter (5") version has the same Goldfinger-esque start that the film version has but was cutdown in the film: one of the verses is cut out.

The longer version has a longer lead-in and repeats the chorus. The shorter version was generally only available on vinyl (this was 1989) but a limited edition CD single was available.

I haven't listened to much of it yet. I already have the music from Greene's party, and End Title Music so that isn't new to me. Are some of the tracks extended? Containing unreleased cues? Because the track list is pretty much the same as the commercial release.

Wasn't it mentioned in the original music thread that some of the masters have been destroyed/gone missing, which include Moonraker.

It's a bit like what the BBC did with there film Archive ion the 70's and cleared certain things out because they throught there was no future demand and it may be the case here.

Havin said that in he "Music from ITC" cd release they released some cues from the short lived tv series "The Zoo Gang" as this is all they said existed.

It now looks that research have unearthed enough music from the programe to do a 2 CD release.

Lets hope that the Bond Masters haven't been destroyed and are either in Private hands or been mis-labeled.

Moonraker is not (necessarily) lost. Because of money reasons, they only looked for the masters in the UK, but the recording sessions took place in Studios Davout, in France, so they might be there.

Regarding Octopussy and A View to a Kill, Lukas Kendall, who was in charge of the 2003 re-releases, said in an interview that he didn't know where the masters were.

A Great score to the most under-rated Bond film.

I thought the offical expanded release was originally good, but this is something totally different.

This is the kind of music I like to listern to and then realize that an hr or so has gone from my life.

I too am impressed with the quality of these scores! I am also waiting for Goldfinger. Although most of the music is on the remastered version, it will be interesting to see if the few remaining bits of unrecorded music show up fx-free. I hope so.

I've just spent the best part of 45 mins listening to LALD and must agree, it is of better quailty and I just love the cd front sleeve.

This was the 2nd Bond film i saw as a kid, and the score brings back mamy meroies of the film.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for NSNA if it ever become avalible.
Not the best Bond film, but it does have it moments since it does feature Connery.

It gives me such pleasure to know u guys are enjoying my uploads this much. I had no idea Bond music wud be so popular. Its my favourite music in the world, thank you for being fans! :)

i was wondering why just a closer walk with thee wasn't included on the live and let die soundtrack you posted it's the only track from the soundtrack that's not their.

I guess they didnt include it cos its source music and nothing to do with George Martin. I think the CD works better without it 4 sure

Its not complete, just expanded (and slightly at that). Its a good find, but not quite what you're looking for unfortunately.

What's left missing outside of the movie version of the Tank scene?

A tiny snippet of music from the dam scene, the first part of The GoldenEye Overture, the Manticore fight, the Tiger escape, some music from the finale, plus a couple of other short pieces. Not a lot though.

It's my personal favorite out of all the bond films (Casino Royale with Daniel Craig being a very close second!).

You know, listening to it the other day on the regular CD, I dont think its as good as everyone says it is. I mean dont get me wrong, it has some truly thrilling action music and the underwater "sound" Barry created is truly brilliant. But as a whole work, the score isnt all that varied. It stops and starts every now and then, and some bits are a little samey.

I still love it, its just not as good as some of his others, like You Only Live Twice, The Living Daylights (both awesome) or A View to a Kill (which is my favourite).

Thunderball is simply okay. I found Barry's work on the From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, and You Only Live Twice to be stellar. Thunderball just feels like its there in contrast, and lacks the highlights of the others. My favorite cues from Thunderball are the ones that derive from previous themes, such as 007 or the Bond theme. Its a good score, but it just feels like the best material from it is done better in his other work on the series.

I dunno- personally I like Thunderball a bit more than YOLT, though to be fair I've only ever been able to find bare-bones versions of YOLT, and the Kobe Dock fight is fantastic music.

Thunderball just totally nails the underwater theme, and isn't afraid to be a bit bombastic. My personal favourite bit is when Bond is sneaking into Largo's estate after dark. It's got that perfect quiet highly-strung tension type of stealthy music that only pops up a few times in the scores, like in Goldfinger when Bond waits till dark to get into Goldfinger's factory, and in OHMSS in Blofeld's Plot, where Bond escapes his cable car room prison and sneaks up over the rail and back inside Piz Gloria.

This is by far the most advanced and most pro Bond music thread on the whole wide web. Kudos to your score re-compositions, careful mixing, splendid cover artwork and sporting spirit to make it all available what has been hidden for so long.

In a week my brother - who is a Barry fanatic in his own right - will have his 4Oth birthday. And there's nothing in the world (and I mean nothing) that would make him happier than finally being able to listen to the complete scores of

Four scores I tried to catch in vain in their entirety, until now. So, as my deadline is set and the ticking clock is ticking, all I need to know from you is: Will these four scores be up until next Thursday (22/07)?

I personally like David Arnold's scores for 007. He's changed his style so much since he started in TND. TND was fun for me, very Bond-ish. But his latest work has taken on a very different approach. I like his new Bond music, very captivating to listen to as a whole album. Especially the percussion he's using more often.

Eric Serra was okay for Bond, but mostly if you're familiar with Eric Serra to begin with. His approach was very new to the series. I like his version of the Gunbarrel though, I can't get enough of it everytime I watch it or played the N64 game of Goldeneye.

However, as much as I like David Arnold, his score for TND seems to be incomplete. It's hard to find the "Backseat Driver" track. In the movie, there's a part in the middle where the bass is booming, very low, it just slides around. But the soundtracks (both the first release in '97 and then the '00 release) don't have the same bass for the track, so it sounds real quiet. The DVD has an isolated score on it, but there's also a part in the music where it drops right down for SFX (as most isolated scores on DVD will do that for dialog/sfx). So it's quite impossible to find the perfect version of TND.
I think all the extended releases I've found don't really have the same bass as the movie version.

I would say the version I posted here of TND is the best you will find. Ive had many versions, and this is the best.

Sador: First of all, love the avatar. Dalton is my favourite Bond. I adore him as Bond. For me, he nailed it and set the way for Craig to continue in that dark vein.

To say my thread is the best Bond music thread on the web makes me very happy indeed. I cant take credit for mixing/making the scores, but I am so happy everyone is enjoying them. I have a burning passion for Bond music, and I too was raised on the movies and music. In fact, John Barry got me into listening to film scores in the first place. I owe my love of score music to him.

I wont be able to have all four of those upped in a week but you can tell your brother that expanded (not necessarily complete) versions of them will be coming in due course.

Totally agree. Its my favourite Bond score. Some of Barry's best work was towards the end of his reign, I feel (Octopussy has an amazing action theme, TLD is a phenomenally exciting score).

Takehiro, I finally managed to find the wav files for the Smirnoff contest for the Casino Royal trailers.

If anyone is familiar with it, it has 7 seperated wav files with different elements of the trailer (choir/drums/guitar/orchestra/etc). The contest was to make your own version of the trailer music.
I had them only in mp3@320.
But just recently I found them in original wav files, including a full-mix version.

If it's okay, I would like to share them here, since it's a really good bond thread.

The files are no longer hosted on the Smirnoff website, and are very difficult to find in original wav format.

You dont need to run it by me first, just go for it :)

Not a brillant Bond Film and not a Bad Bond film, as Roger Moore was well pass playing a decent Bond, But it does feature some decent tunes and this includes the main theme by Duran Duran, as it is better than main theme songs that have been with each film since the series was relaunched back in 1995.

Way back in 1972 I purchased the 10th anniversary James Bond double album (Dr No > Diamonds are Forever) and played it to death! I actually bought it for the songs but started to love the instrumental tracks the more I played them.

This started, now approaching, a 40 year total appreciation of the fabulous music composed for the James Bond films.

The expanded releases of a few years back were truly a gift from heaven and now this tremendous work you are doing is the icing on the cake.

I've tried to download it quite a few times today.

Sometimes you just need to wait and try again later. Or, try the Mega Manager - I think that lets you download files.

Hey takehiro, I tried Mega Manager and am still having problems.
The file only get so far and then quits.
I can't understand it. This is the first file I have ever had a problem with.
Oh well, at least the manager saves the link.

MegaUpload has been having a lot of issues lately.
Sometimes it takes over 12 hours before I can download something.
If you use JDownloader, just keep it running in the background, it will keep checking for the file every 5 minutes or so.
It may take up to 3 days before you can download it.
It may be that MegaUpload is changing servers or doing sever maintenance.
I've been having issues with MegaUpload for the past several days.

It might be your lucky day... I have these all in FLAC, so its possible. A lot of people have PMd me about lossless versions. It might have to wait a few months but it is possible :)
