Does anyone know if a soundtrack exists for the english dub of the dominion tank police anime?

i didnt like the japanese soundtrack, i prefered the mellow, synth nature of the english dub, and was wondering if a soundtrack or rip exists

thanks very much :)

Not that I'm aware of... but that doesn't mean one doesn't exist. Check UK, and European countries... sometimes one exists, just not within the US. Often places like Ausi will create an English one... for their own reasons and this will actually end up being the one used in the anime once dubbed... though sometimes they are completely different.

That would be a hard number to find out about considering if you tried searching you'd more likely only run into people talking about the series OSTs, the Movie's OSTs... and so on from Japan.

But who produced the English version of the anime? This will help you find out whether they are a studio known for releasing their English versions of the OST... or not. And some studios never do, and when asked give you some generic response like ... not enough fans asked.

Which gets you stuck with petitioning real people... and how many people do you know in life who know this anime exists? Sure the internet is great... but they have the right to refuse that petition because people can double-sign or use aliases to stuff the boxes.... and they wouldn't be able to prove otherwise without some short of IP address checker attached. And I have seen a few petitions actually willing to do this...

Long story short... it's probably unlikely an English version exists. But I'd also like to suggest trying to write a letter to the English composer (if you can). Sometimes they are willing to help out; and have the copyrights to their own material... or at least most of it. But not always as the studio usually buys those out... so the owner can't later release a CD without asking for permission to use their own material... it's stupid, but that's the land of music.

thanks for the reply, from what i remember, Manga Video were the company that composed the soundtrack that was used in the english dub of the anime, at least, thats what i found out from research.#
thanks for the info though, seems il have to stick to listening to the music while watching the anime itself :)

I have a few tracks that I found online and ripped myself. I'll post what I have when I get home. BTW, I too enjoyed the mellow shakuhachi BGM in the english dub. Frankly, it was one of the better dubbing jobs in the early days of anime appreciation :).

It's just mirrorcreator.com... Try again, I changed the link.

Even with the link changed I'm still getting the same dead page in both browsers, in fact Mirrorcreator - Upload files to multiple file sharing sites (http://www.mirrorcreator.com) doesn't even display anything on it's own let alone with the added Download DTP_dubbed.rar from Mirrorcreator - Upload files to multiple file sharing sites (http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/MXOX4C3W/) So I'm confused as to why it's still not working?

So thank you very much.:)

Interesting that someone posted FLAC rips to the US soundtrack (google "Brown Eyes - Dominion Tank Police USA OST [FLAC]"). The first pic is the spectral graph of the mp3 that I found on the net circa 2008, 128kbps with the characteristic 16 kHz clipping. The second is the same song from the FLAC encode, which looks exactly like the 128 kbps file. Man, I had high hopes for this one. :(

I found a blogspot page by someone named Strange Scans called "Release #095 - Dominion Tank Police OST USA" and it has downloads for both 320kbps MP3 and FLAC formats. However, minus the fact that the tracks are about a second or two longer and the Puma Dance doesn't have a little blip noise at the very end, they seem to sound exactly the same in terms of sound quality as the ones listed here. I was wondering if you had any idea whether this is actually the same one you that you were referring to in the above comment/image, I'm wondering since the one I'm referring to was posted in 2011 and not 2008.

"Release #095 - Dominion Tank Police OST USA" is the same deal unfortunately. Note "Brown Eyes - Dominion Tank Police USA OST [FLAC] [Strange Scans]" is pretty much the same filename as the 2008 post. In all they are either transcodes from a 128kbps source, or the bootleg was sourced from a lossy source (some dude burned the mp3s as an audio cd and sold it to a sucker). I don't think the original source exists :(

Here are the audio spectri (?) of a flac and mp3 file included in the above post.

Ah, so sadly it's as I figured, well that's rather unfortunate. For future reference, is there any particular program I can use to view spectral graphs in order to better determine the legitimacy of songs I download in the future?

Audacity displays this info too if you are using linux. Just google both, as they are free. Couple rules of thumb: 1) 128kbps compression clips the soundwave @ 16kHz, so look out for 320kbps or lossless files that exhibit it, chances are that it was a 128kbps transcode; 2) lossless files should be >~20kHz, better that they fill out the entire visible spectrum on spek; 3) 8bit sounds don't exhibit wide audio spectrum, so don't expect those 8bit albums to display similar audio spectra as do tracks with live instrumentation.

Here's an example of an audio spectrum of a typical lossless file from the Xenogears OST:

bit late I know.
There was never a soundtrack releases. Although in the credits they say that "soundtrack available at..." (forgot what it says)
Truth is, there was never a soundtrack release for the UK version. But the UK dubbing also features some original Japanese tunes. The only to get the soundtrack would be to rip it from dvds. I must say, I am not that peaky with the fact it may have voices. At least someone would rip the unreleased tracks. and I prefer that they have sfx instead of those tools of TRYING to cut voice and sfx, and instead it makes the track not audible at all. Not me. I find much more annoying.

All the links from mirrorcreator are dead, can anyone re-upload it, please? I only need the 03. BGM (01:07) and 04. BGM (extended) (01:34) tracks.

Sorry for the ressurection, but can anyone reupload this? Feeling a little nostalgic rewatching the series. Like the music and love the intro music. Isn't there any official english soundtrack?

Thanks in advance for any trouble.

Aww shoot! Just ten megas and 5 tunes. Still, liked a lot the 'BGM' theme and it's variations. Thank you very much, Orie, for the attention. A pitty also about the inexistent official soundtrack.

Thanks again.

Thanks again.Yeah, I ripped (more like demuxed) that BGM straight from an old .ogm of the OVA via virtualdub. I found the other clips online, so I cannot vouch for their source.
